[00:32:28] McKenzie so during that 2021 evacuation from Afghanistan there was a crowd of
[00:32:33] local and foreign civilians that fled to the airport to be evacuated and then
[00:32:37] Abbey Gate one of the gates of the airport of course everybody knows at this
[00:32:40] point a suicide bomber detonated an explosive belt and you know of course gunfire
[00:32:45] erupted and all the gates of the airport were closed in the melee here's the
[00:32:49] testimony from sniper sergeant Tyler Vargas about what really happened
[00:32:57] ready please tens of thousands of people descended upon Abbey Gate we were
[00:33:02] looking for anyone with a blue passport first and foremost people were
[00:33:05] suffering from extreme malnutrition dehydration heat casualties and
[00:33:09] infants were dying Afghans were brutalized and tortured by the Taliban flocked
[00:33:13] to us pleading for help some Afghans turned away from H. Kaya tried to kill
[00:33:18] themselves on the razor wire in front of us that we used as a deterrent they
[00:33:22] thought this was merciful compared to the Taliban torture that they faced
[00:33:24] countless Afghans were murdered by the Taliban 155 yards in front of our
[00:33:28] position day and night with only shipping containers between us the Taliban
[00:33:32] would routinely murder people and earn our observation at their checkpoint we
[00:33:36] communicated the atrocities to our chain of command and intel assets but nothing
[00:33:39] came of it department of state staff and H. Kaya would completely shut down
[00:33:42] processing Afghans every evening and into the morning leaving ground forces
[00:33:46] with a nightmare that are not working reasonable rotations and very much
[00:33:50] presented an unwillingness to work in other situations as well no matter our
[00:33:53] health or condition the Marines stood watch and engaged disorderly and dangerous
[00:33:57] crowds state was not prepared to be in H. Kaya in fact state would not want to
[00:34:01] deal with the Afghans unable to be processed weakening the security of the
[00:34:04] perimeter state would take us away from our mission to walk Afghans out to meet
[00:34:08] the fate of the Taliban condemning them to death over the communication network we
[00:34:12] passed that there was a potential threat and an ID attack imminent this was a
[00:34:16] series as it could get our baton commander said and I quote I don't know and
[00:34:21] quote myself and my team leader asked very harshly well who does because this is
[00:34:25] your responsibility sir he again replied he did not know but would find out
[00:34:29] we received no update and never got our answer eventually the individual
[00:34:34] disappeared to this day we believe he was a suicide bomber we made everyone on
[00:34:37] the ground aware operations that briefly halted but then started again plain
[00:34:41] and simple we were ignored then a flash and a massive wave of pressure I'm
[00:34:47] throwing 12 feet onto the ground but instantly knew what had happened I opened
[00:34:51] my eyes to Marines dead are unconscious lying around me
[00:34:57] the withdrawal was a catastrophe in my opinion and there was an inexcusable lack
[00:35:02] of accountability and negligence the 11 Marines one sailor and one soldier
[00:35:09] that were murdered that day have not been answered for thank you for giving

[00:35:18] it's my heart seeing that shit it is now let me say this George Sargent Vargas
[00:35:22] he lost a leg in an arm even after he tried to warm on this botched Biden
[00:35:27] Afghan withdrawal the Department of Defense botched withdrawal and here's

[00:35:37] didn't see what he said he saw meaning what Vargas saw basically undermining his
[00:35:45] testimony to Congress and saying that he was a liar was sitting right behind him

[00:37:31] testimony which has been corroborated by the way by multiple Marines who have
[00:37:35] testified before this committee that the events that he has actually made
[00:37:38] common and made clear actually did take place and we're fortunate enough
[00:37:42] General McKenzie that the gentleman who actually endured the most from this
[00:37:46] who's on the ground and ground truth matters as we all know is sitting right
[00:37:49] there so would you like the opportunity to tell Sergeant Vargas right there
[00:37:53] that he is not recalling the incidents that I currently on August 26th
[00:37:56] correctly that he and his fellow Marines are not actually the ones who said
[00:38:01] there was a blow of this description that he is incorrect and his assessment
[00:38:06] which is putting into question his integrity you want to face him and tell him
[00:38:10] that before him now I don't want to face him in telling that I want to say that
