[00:00:13] Broadcasting live from atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West. You are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show. All right. Happy to have you along, my fellow Americans. Sam Bushman live on your radio. Hard-hitting news the network refused to use. No doubt starts now. This, my fellow Americans, is the broadcast for February the 4th in the year of our Lord, 2025.
[00:00:40] This is Hour 1 of 2, the goal always to protect life, liberty, and property, to promote God, family, and country. To do so on your radio and the traditions of our founding fathers. Yes, indeed. We use the blueprint for liberty, the supreme law, the land, the constitution for the United States of America, our guide. We reject revolution. Usually they go south and they're very violent and bloody and they're horrible. Unless it's the Jesus Revolution, then we're in because we follow the Prince of Peace. Welcome to the broadcast.
[00:01:06] Hope you're all doing absolutely fantastic, recognizing that the incredible checks and balances brilliantly put in place by the founding fathers. What are the peaceful restorative solutions we have at our fingertips? With me, co-hosting the broadcast today, the good sheriff is on your radio. Sheriff Richard Mack, welcome back, sir. Thank you very much, Sam. It's great to be with you this beautiful Tuesday morning. Hey, man. There's so much going on, so little time to discuss it.
[00:01:33] It seems every day there's just so much news. It's hard to even know what to focus on these days. What I like to do is use God, family, country, the protection of life, liberty, and property. So kind of those six, seven words to really highlight what we spend our time on. If it relates to God, family, country. Hey, those stories want to percolate to the top. If it's good news, if it's hopeful news, if it's cheerful news, if it's solutions-oriented news, that's what we're all about.
[00:02:03] A dear friend, doctor, or I should say pastor. He's not a doctor. He's a pastor, for heck's sakes. Pastor David Laurie Jr. with us. He's from Chicago. Let the truth be told, radio.com, his website. He's a talk show host. He owns a business called Laurie and Associates, and he's just done a lot of great stuff. Welcome back to Liberty Roundtable Live, sir. Thank you so much for having me, Sam.
[00:02:29] And first, let me give all praises to God and my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for making it possible for me to be here, as well as everybody listening to this show. Amen, sir. So I want to talk a little bit about who you are then. You've made it in the business world separate from radio and TV and from your pastor work even as well. Tell me a little bit about your business, DeLaurie and Associates. Well, first, I'm retired.
[00:02:59] I'm 67. But I still do work in the community besides my pastor work. I have an insurance agency with my daughter. She is a financial advisor. I do Medicare advising for seniors. I know it's a lot of different rules and regulations when it comes to Medicare. And before my parents passed away, I experienced a lot of those things. And so it prompted me to get a license.
[00:03:24] And now I go across the state in different states, do seminars, talk to seniors, help them find money, help them pick the best plans out there so they can get the services they need. And they can be well taken care of. How did you become a pastor? How did you become a pastor? Well, you know, I've always been into the church. And I want to, you know, I thank God for that. When I was 12, I sort of left the church and wanted to see the world. I did.
[00:03:54] And then I went on to become a professional football player. I owned a business, a restaurant in Davenport, Iowa. I trained world champions like Michael Nunn, Roger Craig, football. And December 7, 1990. December 7, 1990. I was in an accidental shooting. I saved another man's life. And the gun went off and shot me in my heart. I died twice during that event.
[00:04:23] I went to see Be With the Lord. And all I had to do, and I'm telling the American people and patriots across this country, we served a true living God. And when God told me and when I met with him, all he said that I had to do to live was to believe in him. And every time somebody said I would die, you just let them know that God said I wasn't going to die tonight.
[00:04:47] And so when the doctor gave me the diagnosis, he said your heart is injured, the lungs exploded, the ribs broken. He said, you know, I lost so much blood, I don't see how you could live. I said, well, God told me to tell you I wasn't going to die tonight. And so I said it so much that the doctor got upset and said, God is going to have to fix you. And then I died again on the operating table. And to his smart words, God brought me back and healed me that night. And I went home that Sunday morning healed.
[00:05:16] And so that prompted me. My covenant with God was that I would change my life. I would become a disciple of Christ. I would do whatever he wanted me to do for my life. And so he gave me my life back at 33 years old to live, be shot and be dead on a Friday, lay dead Saturday and wake up Sunday morning and walk out. I knew that I had something special going and I had to fulfill what I told the Lord I was going to do.
[00:05:45] And I'm doing it every day that I wake up. I'm looking for ways to help our country. I'm looking for ways to create a better family situation. I'm looking for ways to stop all the homosexuality and all those things that we're facing as Christians. The hatred. Not being able to teach our children about Christ in the schools and all the homosexual stuff that we're fighting against. Those are the battles that we as Christians should be fighting.
[00:06:13] And that's the fight that I'm leading across this country to awaken the sleeping giant. That's God's people so that we can stand up for righteousness. Because the Bible talks about first seek the kingdom and its righteousness. And as long as you're doing the right thing, God's going to use you. So I think right now with President Trump in office, he's making leaps and bounds.
[00:06:36] When he turned back the hands and said there's only two genders, Barack Obama, and there's only one God that we serve. And that's the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That's the same one for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. That's the God that I serve that brought me back to life. So we're in a good place right now. We just have to stay focused and unite. I love it. A lot of good work.
[00:07:02] No doubt your life is a new life dedicated to Christ, dedicated to the things that matter most. You're also the president and founder. Sorry, Richard Mack. I want to get you into this here, too. But I just want to get people an understanding of how prolific that David really is. He's also the president and founder of Living and Driving While Black Foundation.
[00:07:28] It's a national civil rights organization that advocates against racial profiling while promoting economic opportunities for ex-offenders, disadvantaged youth, and individuals throughout the country. Let's talk about this. You grew up in Mississippi, moved to Chicago. How did you get it? Look, a pastor, an insurance guy, a radio guy, a broadcaster. I'm just kind of going, what the heck?
[00:07:59] Well, I think that, you know, coming up, see, everything that I have done in this life has prepared me to be the pastor. You know, I grew up on a plantation in Arkansas, born in Mississippi, picked and chopped cotton until I was eight. I came to Chicago with my grandmother and my family, and they became politically active. I graduated from high school at 15. I had my first son at 16.
[00:08:26] My father always believed in a good work ethic to be smart and intelligent, respect people, respect this country, and you can be successful. And so I believe that. And today I'm successful because I believe in this country and I believe in doing the right thing. And so those are characteristics that we've lost.
[00:08:48] I just think by God and having all these experiences in all facets of life, it has led to me to be the place where I'm at right now because I see what has happened to us as Christians. And I'm coming from a very spiritual standpoint because as Christians, God gave us this world through Christ. And so we've allowed the stuff we've seen, we've allowed it because we didn't speak up.
[00:09:17] We didn't say no. We didn't say, you know what, I work for God, the creator, and there's nothing above that. So as pastors, we have to get back to that place. You know, my thing as far as with living and driving while black was in 1990, I started noticing a lot of racial profiling problems. They had music ordinances in Rock Island, Illinois.
[00:09:43] I was the president of the NAACP, and a lot of black men were being pulled over because of this noise ordinance. So I had some friends out of Baltimore, Attorney Jim Bell and Dr. Tyrone Powers who helped me set up a program where I could take statistics. And this way I could see what officer was racial profiling. We were successful at doing it.
[00:10:12] We filed a lawsuit against Rock Island for $25 million. We made them stop the racial profiling tool. I went on to write the racial profiling law, which Barack Obama took and turned it into an act. I wrote the law to be a five-year mandatory. If you see racial profiling, it's just so much stuff that we do. Our prison ministry. Go ahead and skip the break. Your prison ministry. Go ahead, sir.
[00:10:42] Our prison ministry, we started probably about 25 years ago. Reverend William Watts was the first chief chaplain here in the state of Illinois under the Gormitz leadership. And as his deacon, we went to every prison. And I started to see generations of black men being locked up. And so God put it on my heart then to try to help them. And so with the foundation, we started taking cases and looking at them.
[00:11:11] And we started dealing with lawyers who would challenge some of these charges that were being put on black men. And anybody who didn't matter to me as long as they wanted, they had a good case, we would help them. And so it derived from that. But it is totally involved to a whole other level right now. Now, last night I had Enrique Tartario on my show, one of the Proud Boys. And I've done a lot of work in the black community with the street organizations.
[00:11:40] There's always been a misconception with blacks and whites regarding who we are. You know, they want to say that the KKK is with the Proud Boys and the Aryan Nation and whatever it is. And that's not true. And a black man is running it. And so I met his mother. And there you have it. Have you worked with Ben Carson on any projects? Because it seems to me his story is pretty riveting and kind of along the lines of your story, right? Well, kind of.
[00:12:09] I had a chance to just meet him briefly at the RNC. But, you know, I'm working right now with some people to try to get with President Trump because there's well over 10,000 to 20,000 black men who are in jail right now who have clemency numbers that President Trump gave them to release them before the election was stolen. And so now they've all contacted me across the country in every prison.
[00:12:36] I've gotten the numbers and I'm trying to get them to President Trump's people so they can be released. It's a shame that a lot of these guys went to jail just like with the president was attacked with the RICO laws that was weaponized against him to say that he did things that he never did do. And a lot of these guys are in jail because somebody said they did this. They had no idea what happened and they ended up in jail. And that same thing happened with Tartario.
[00:13:05] He wasn't even at January 6th and he ended up in jail with 22 years. And neither was our buddy Stuart Rhodes either. Yeah, well, you know, I was supposed to be there too, but I ended up getting sick and couldn't make it. And I probably would have been locked up with everybody else because the January 6th was a farce. I saw the four hours of footage that was given to Tucker Carlson by Nina May, a producer that was there that day. And it was just a Democratic Party.
[00:13:34] They cut and paste and it was all a big lie. And they locked patriots up just to make themselves feel good and present us as radicals and rebels to this country when we are the true patriots. So I'm glad that President Trump has gotten back in and the people of America as one America standing together right now.
[00:13:58] I can't see us any other way after what we've seen with the Democrats and the Barack Obamas and the Kamala Harris's and Joe Biden's. And all these people are evil and they're coming against our country. And, you know, in God, we trust and that's how we got to stand. So that's why I'm here. Sheriff, our trajectories are interesting.
[00:14:22] They're completely different from a background point of view, but they come together in this quest to be God-fearing American patriots, to obey the law, to uphold the law, to find ways to keep people safe, to keep people, you know, doing what's right, working within the system, helping people who are innocent get out of prison. We've been involved in the No Innocence in Prison project for quite some time. We've worked with Sam Gerard, the Amish farmers.
[00:14:50] Now we are so grateful that 1,500 plus people got their pardons. A few people got their sentences commuted. We need them to get pardoned as well. We're grateful for the pro-life pardons as well. That's huge, but not enough. Now we're talking about a lot of black men that are across the country in prison as well. Many of them, wrongfully so, many of them just need opportunity. Many of them don't know better because it's generational. They need to be turned to God, family, and country. With that start, Sheriff Mack.
[00:15:22] Well, something surprised me, Pastor, that you said because I've been kind of critical of the NAACP. They seem to be just a branch of the Democrat Party instead of a real civil rights organization. And I wanted to get your thoughts on that because, first of all, I love you and the work you're doing,
[00:15:47] and Sam is right, we have a lot in common because we're all now dedicating our lives to making sure that no innocent people are in prison. And that's exactly what you've been talking about also. So I have another question before we wrap. Isn't it true that the NAACP has just become a part of the Democrat Party and have now ignored basic fundamental God-given rights, civil rights?
[00:16:13] Well, the NAACP hasn't been anything since Thorogood Marshall. And back in the day, they won 23 out of 21 civil rights cases. They've pretty much become a rubber stamp for the Democratic Party. You've got guys like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, all those leaders who ran the NAACP, never really addressed any issues in the black community.
[00:16:37] It was always somebody else that would address it, and then the NAACP would stand behind them and try to get membership. So it's all been about money. They don't have any power at all anymore, and they are part of the Democratic Party. And I think that that's something that needs to be addressed with the RIS. They should no longer be a 501c3. You know, I feel that that organization… I'm glad to hear you say that.
[00:17:07] And the other question I have to follow up, what is the solution to the violence, especially black-on-black violence, in Chicago and across the country? This is the solution. First of all, when you have young people who do not have any type of spiritual foundation, they have no family structure. They have not been taught how to be men and women.
[00:17:34] All they know is what they've seen on the Internet and what somebody else that don't know anything has told them. And so with the black family structure being in this type of condition, then we have young men out there who are growing physically as men, but psychologically they are still little boys. And so I think that's a good idea. Here's a solution.
[00:17:56] In 2022, May 22nd, we organized a march because Chicago was getting the kind of shooting 61 weekends, 70, 100, and all like that. And so I got with all the street guys, the GDs, the vice lords, all the street organizations. They are not gangs. They're doing things in the community that you wouldn't even believe that they're doing because it's never reported.
[00:18:22] But I pulled all the leaders from each side of the town together, and we sat down and said, we're going to stop the shooting once and for all. We got all the guys, the young guys, these young guys, 15, 12, 17 years old, barely could read a right, then got kicked out of the house because they're trying to be men, committing crimes, not knowing nothing. And so we got them into a room full of grown men.
[00:18:49] They sit with their hoods on, and I asked them to remove them. And the moment that we started talking to them, their whole response was, we don't know what to do. Nobody has ever taught us anything. We don't know nothing about God. All we know about is the things we hear about Christ. It moved me. And so for the lack of knowledge, people are perishing. That's just like people don't understand politics. They don't understand what's happening with these kids.
[00:19:18] And once I was able to get them to understand that we cared about them, we took a casket, a white casket, and went down Halster Street in Chicago. It didn't make national news. About 1,000 people came, and at every corner we prayed were there were shootings. The shootings stopped because now we've reached them. I baptized over 33 people last Easter. I brought the brothers off the streets.
[00:19:46] We got their lives back in school. You know, we're getting them housing. These are the things that's just causing the shooting because they have known nothing else. And when you put drugs into the hand of a person that doesn't have any spirit or anything in their head, what else would they become? But vessels for demons. And so once we were able to induce these young people and let them know, hey, this is what you do being a man. If you have a child, you have to be responsible.
[00:20:15] You've got to learn something to do how to make money. Or you have to be an entrepreneur. When you start teaching like that, you take the drugs out of their hand that they're selling and change the product. Teach them about government contracting, all of those things. I have young men who have gotten out of jail. Now they own businesses. They've got families, you know, because of the structure. And that's all they need. They need somebody to teach them the structure of life. And once you know better, you do better.
[00:20:43] And that's where the crime in Chicago have subsided. We pretty much had made a big dent in the crime here. But then when they released all the migrants back into the black community, and these young men had to go back and say, you know what? We've got to stand up for our communities. There's not a lot of shooting on black-on-black much in Chicago. Now we're trying to get the migrants out. And once we get them out and opportunities open up, then the crime are ready to go down.
[00:21:12] It'll go down once we start teaching how to be men. Just think about this. You and I, Sheriff, and Sam, our parents taught us what it was to be men. Somewhere along the line, we found out about God because if you didn't want to go to church, you went anyway because you was going to take a beat down. You had some kind of spiritual foundation. That's not being done today because parents don't have a relationship with God.
[00:21:41] They have relationships with the world. Our pastors are sleeping. You know, every time I go to church, my bishop called me into the office, and I was telling people at the gym this morning, I feel like Dennis Diminished. Like, what did I do now? I feel like I'm going to do this. But he doesn't admonish me. He knows I'm standing for righteousness, and he loves it. Just keep doing it. Keep spreading the word of God. Keep unifying us because that's my mission to do that. So once we teach them things, the crime will stop.
[00:22:11] It'll stop because if I know how to make money without selling drugs, I kill somebody. Oh, what a fantastic answer. Go ahead, Sheriff. There's no way to skip the basics of a spiritual foundation. I thank you so much for your insight. And I need you guys. I need you guys to help me because I spoke with some other pastors in D.C. I was at the inauguration. I had a few minutes with the president.
[00:22:39] But I need you guys with this prison ministry. We got to make this known because we got these guys with clemency numbers all over. They need to be home. Because the law put a lot of these guys in jail because of what somebody else did. Or if you busted me with drugs, I'll let you go if you tell on Sam and say Sam did something. And with the RICO laws, that's how they ended up there.
[00:23:04] So we need to really make this a national issue where these men can get out no matter what color. They need to be home. They don't need to be sitting in there because that's what the prisoners went to. They became private. And now our men and women are commodities. And our children are the new commodities on the stock market. So we have to stop this and we have to make changes and start uniting our families and get them back together. Because God blesses a child that has its own.
[00:23:34] You know what I find? I find that there's so many great projects to be part of and so many things to be involved in and so many good ways to make a difference. I mean, we need to kick off a speaking tour with a good sheriff, a redneck talk show host, and a black man all standing up and saying things across the country. How do we do all this, Sheriff? I don't know how we get focused on. And there's so many things to do. When we get back, let's have Sheriff Mack start out. You know, I don't really know where to take this in terms of we've got to keep up our efforts for sure.
[00:24:04] We've got to bring people together in united civil ways. Sheriff Richard Mack with us, ladies and gentlemen. Founder and president of the Constitutional Sheriff's and Peace Officers Association. Become a member of the Posse today, CSPOA.org. It will implement a 15% tariff on coal and natural gas products and a 10% tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery, and large-engine cars imported from the U.S. Starting February 10th. [00:30:15] From atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West, you are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, and friends and neighbors and patriots of America. Welcome back to Liberty Roundtable. We have live Sam Bushman, your host, co-host, yours truly, Sheriff Mack, and Pastor Lowry from Chicago.
[00:30:40] And wow, I would have to say, Pastor, your comments are riveting, to say the least. And I absolutely appreciate your sensibility regarding the issues of America and what we can actually do about it. Sam is correct. We have so many different places we could go with this, but I think something he alluded to, I would love to do.
[00:31:09] First of all, I'd love to be on your show. And secondly, I would love to stand on a stage with you or at the corner of a place in Chicago or any place else that you're standing. I will stand with you, sir. I think that we can come together, and it doesn't matter what color we are. Let me say this to the American people and patriots across this country. When I became a pastor, I had no idea that I would be at this position.
[00:31:40] But when you make a covenant with God, you have to fulfill what you say. I'm running for mayor of Chicago in 2027. I'm part of the Mordecai Project out of First America Warehouse with Joe Box and Pastor William Green and Bishop Benjamin. And in order for Christians to be treated right in this country, we have to get in positions of leadership and do the right thing.
[00:32:07] And so in 2027, I will be the new mayor of Chicago. I'm going to make all the wrongs right. I'm going to unify Chicago and make it a beautiful city again where it's economically sound and all the communities will thrive. Just by doing the job of description of being the mayor, that's it. And so I'm encouraging other Christians now to really take a look at politics. We can't expect for Satan to be in charge of all our goods and expect for him to treat us right.
[00:32:36] So we have to make our move into politics just as Moses did, just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, just as Daniel. We have to be in positions of leadership in order to institute righteousness throughout this land. So I encourage other Christians to start considering new positions because we can't let these demons be in charge of us. If we do, we're surely going to lose all our rights. And then what else will we have?
[00:33:05] So we have to really be cognizant and think, hey, you know what? If God gave me this will through Christ, then I'm going to do my job to keep it because I work for God himself through Jesus. And that's the only way that I'm going to live on this earth. And that way we can create peace. All right. Here's what I'm thinking, Sheriff Mack. Tell me what you think of this. What if we just do this? A black man, a blind man, and a sheriff. A clarion call for civility. Yes.
[00:33:36] Look at that, Sheriff. Oh, we'll try to get Sheriff Mack back. You know we can do a tour like that, right? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. If we did, I mean, think about that. A black man, a blind man, and a sheriff. Because, see, you're president and founder of living and driving while black. And when I come to the table, I say, well, at least you brothers can live and drive. I can't even get that done. But we can work together.
[00:34:04] We can stand together. We can realize we all have faults. We all make mistakes. We're all God's children. Let's get it done. Turn to God Almighty. Turn to the traditional family. And see the blessings come on down, sir. Listen, you know, here in Chicago, President Trump got 47% of the vote Republican here in the state. And this is a blue state. 47%. You know, and the message was heard.
[00:34:33] I mean, I was doing shows like yours here. The people in different states heard it. Black people went to the polls and voted in record numbers. And their votes were counted because the Democrats were unable to cheat this time. And so we here, Illinois, went from 10% Republican to almost 50% or better. So the black vote is still alive and well.
[00:35:00] We just have to create economics in our community and take care of ourselves, just like everybody else. All right, Sheriff Mack, did you hear my proposal for our speaking tour? No, I didn't. All right, here it is. Let me give this to you. David Lowry had a chance to respond. I want you to respond. Here's the title of a tour that I'm thinking of. And, you know, what it really comes out in the end, how we work on this, it all depends. We're just brainstorming on the radio to kind of make some valid points.
[00:35:28] The headline would say this, a black man, a blind man, and a constitutional sheriff. A clarion call for civility. What do you think? Oh, that's nothing new for you or me. It'd be something new to be with Pastor Lowry on it, though. Well, the point is it just shows all aspects of America, whether you've got disabilities, whether you're black, whether you're white, whether you're gray, whether you're poor, whether you're rich. None of that kind of stuff matters, people. Yeah.
[00:35:58] It doesn't. Yeah. It's a great idea. I would love to do it. I'd love to be a part of it. I'd love to stand with both of you anytime, anywhere. Me too. So all that's left to do is to just do it. Yes. Well, I'm ready whenever you guys get ready, because like I said, I'm going to continue to fight across the country and get these releases.
[00:36:22] I'm hoping that I can get with President Trump's person, the transitional team that they're creating for the prison program. If we can find out who that person is, then we can start getting people out. If they already got clemency numbers, they should be released. I mean, what's the problem? You know, so. I think that we need to find the new pick for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, who Trump picks to be in charge of that.
[00:36:50] We need to work with him in identifying more people like the J6ers and the protesters at abortion clinics. Any and all of them. Sam mentioned earlier something you might not be aware of, Pastor, but the federal government and other governments have gone ruthlessly after Amish farmers because they don't pasteurize their milk.
[00:37:14] And this is the ridiculous ruthlessness and bullying that we keep getting from Washington, D.C. We want that ended, especially now with this new administration. And we want to identify people of all colors, races, doesn't matter. We don't care if they're in prison and they shouldn't be. We want to put them on the list for a pardon for Trump. And we need to make this happen. And we want justice and fairness and honesty returned to our government.
[00:37:43] Man, that's so good to hear that you say that, Sheriff, because you have a way around in that system and you can find things out. But that's what we need because, you know, I had an opportunity to have a few minutes with the president and some of his people at the Heritage Foundation. And just briefly, I looked into his eyes. He is a true man of God. God saved him for this time.
[00:38:07] How can you survive two assassinations attempts, get shot in the ear, if you had a flest, it would have blew your whole head off. God kept him here because God is not being mocked by what Satan is doing with the transgenders and the homosexuals and the greedy people that's trying to destroy this world. I've decided, gentlemen, right now, Pastor, I've decided right now that I'm a racist. Let me tell you why. I've decided that I'm for the human race. That's right.
[00:38:36] And I said no to the furries and yes to the human race. What do you think of that, Pastor Laurie? Man, I'm with you 100. I'm with you 100%. Because we all are just one. We all bleed red. If I got a kidney and you white and you need it and it fixed, guess what? You got a kidney. And I'd be grateful as I'll get out for it, too. But that's what this country should be like. That's why I said we got to get rid of this color thing, you know. And America first.
[00:39:06] The American citizens who pay taxes, who built this country, we should be first. If any benefits come down, we should have them first. And it shouldn't be for everybody else. Our country should not be lacking nothing. Just think about this. All the taxpayer dollars that went to Ukraine and the taxpayer dollars that was put out there with these migrants and stuff. Just think if they invested it back into our country, our infrastructure would be great.
[00:39:35] Our schools would be back. We would be probably the number one, two academics in the world again like we used to be. We can restore our country back to that. I know where President Trump is charged. And if the people rally around him and we get rid of these bad politicians because it's bad leadership that's causing these things for this country to crumble.
[00:39:58] And that's why I'm telling Christians, in order to make a change in your community, you have to run for office and win and do the righteous work that God would have you to do. It's just that simple. And that's how we take the country back. That's how we give God back. Tell me about the current mayors of Chicago. They've been melting down as of recent. It'll be 2027. Is that when your election will be? Yes, sir.
[00:40:25] Well, Brandon Johnson never was a mayor material. And I think that before people run for office, they should know the duties. If I'm going to be a mayor, I want to know all the duties of the mayor. You know what I'm saying? Yes, sir. And we've elected people across this country who are not educated on the positions that they've been hired to fulfill.
[00:40:51] If I'm a welder and I get a job and I don't know how to weld, the company is not going to keep me. First of all, I'm a liar and they should fire me. You know? And secondly, if they keep me and I don't know how to weld, I'm going to make all sorts of mistakes so they really can't use me. That's what's happening in their country today with politicians who do not know the responsibilities of the jobs descriptions that they need to fulfill.
[00:41:17] In other words, what you're doing is rejecting DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion. You're saying it's a farce. And I've just decided to prove the point that I ought to be an Uber driver, don't you think? Well, yes. Let me tell you this about DEI. When you look at DEI, black people, and this is why I say for the lack of knowledge, people perish. In the DEI program, white women are minorities. So they're the first choice when it comes to a DEI hiring.
[00:41:47] And when you look at it, I'm telling people to research it. Black people in the DEI structure is last. We are way behind the trans disabilities. It goes like it's the white woman first. It's the Hispanic. It's the Asian. Then it's the trans. And then it's the disabled. Black people are not getting any jobs. They have to go through a long list of other people just before they get to a black person.
[00:42:16] I got this incredible idea. What if we used to use a merit system and let the best man or woman win? That's what it should be. That's exactly what it should be. Now, had that been for real, I'm a realist. Had that been in play a long time ago, our country would be in a whole totally different position. But it wasn't.
[00:42:44] And that's why all these other programs like affirmative action was created to try to offset that. But really, they were programs that really got infiltrated. And minorities really didn't advance with affirmative action. You only had to fill 10% of minority clauses. And so then when they said white women could be minorities as well, then you kept it the way it was. And black still was left out. Every once in a while, you get a sprinkle here and there. But what about this?
[00:43:15] What about black people owning their own manufacturing companies? What about them owning their own business? Why not? That's the American dream, baby. Man, that's what they're doing. We're on the same page. That's what I'm teaching. Now, on my Uber car, it's going to say blind man at the wheel, get in, Sheriff. What do you think of that? DEI, blind man at the wheel, get in. Yeah. That's when you want that song from Carrie Underwood, Jesus, take the wheel.
[00:43:45] But you know what? I look at, I'm 67 and I grew up in the civil rights era. I remember when Dr. King came here and I had a chance to be in the crowd with my older brothers and meet him. And that sort of drove me. Let me ask you a question about Martin Luther King. Did you look in his eyes too? I was able to. I was standing on my brother's shoulders. They lived on the west side. And I think that's what motivated me to stand and say, you know what?
[00:44:14] I want to be like that. I want to be able to help people. I want to be able to make it aware when situations are not right. And so all those things in my mind as a kid, man, I was ready to be an adult at 15. I had my first son at 16. All my kids have college degrees. They're grown. They have careers. And they're doing well. And it was all about the teachings of structure. But, yeah, man, the thing about Dr. King, he said it the most.
[00:44:43] He talked about social change, which was good. Don't get me wrong. But the most important thing that he should have been talking about is what Malcolm X was saying was economics. Independence. Have your own. Everybody else does it. And I think if the black community gets back to that black Wall Street initiative, and that's what we're trying to create, too, we want to be self. We don't need welfare. We don't need all these things.
[00:45:13] Black people spend more money than everybody put together. And yet we don't own anything. And so that we have to learn economics. We have to learn financial literacy. We have to learn how to unify. These things can only be taught if we have a system that will teach them. And so that's why we need to overhaul the school system. Black people need to have their own schools, teach their own history, everybody's history. So this way you can communicate in the world.
[00:45:42] When I come up, I knew about white folks, black folks, Hispanic people. I interacted with all of them. So going off to college, it was nothing new that I went to a college like Augustana that was predominantly white. I didn't have problems. So I believe in how he was raised. So let me get this right. Martin Luther King said, I have a dream, and it's up to a black man, a blind man, and a sheriff to carry it out. Is that what you're saying? God chooses any vessels that he can.
[00:46:11] He can make a billboard give you a message. Amen to that. So, you know, whatever vessel he chooses, that's what it is. Whatever it is, whatever he got planned for us, I'm in 100%. You just got to tell me when and where and how, and I'll be there. So the question becomes for all of us, hey, how do we sit down with President Trump and his cabinet or whoever's in charge? How do we work on this prisoner program?
[00:46:40] How do we work on an idea that says, hey, what we need is, in my opinion, a political prisoner commission. And sadly, many black men are political prisoners. It's politics of race that got them there. It's division on race that got many of them there. How do we create a, you know, political prisoner commission? And my dear friend Steve Stockman, a former congressman from Texas that needs a pardon as well. He got his sentence commuted, but he needs a pardon.
[00:47:09] And he basically is saying, hey, what we ought to do is use Good Friday. And every Good Friday would release a list of prisoners that we vetted, brought to the president for a pardon. And we could just start releasing people every week and it would be Good Friday. And it would bring back Christian viewpoints of forgiveness and repentance and change and opportunity. And, man, we could get it done. And you know what?
[00:47:30] I think the first step initiative that President Trump launched in his first term where he was releasing black men out of the prisons through that program. All we have to do is find out who runs that program, sit down with them, get with the bureau prisons, get all the list of all the men names to start with that have clemency numbers.
[00:47:55] I got a bunch of probably 10, 20,000 of them that's been sending the numbers to me from everywhere. And I want to say this, too. When I had Enrique on my show last night, Sam, I'll get him on your show for your listeners, too, so they can hear him. So, yeah, I've got his number. I'm ready to go. Yeah. He said something that was powerful last night. I asked him how the Power Boys got started. He said, man, there was a bunch of us guys standing at the bar.
[00:48:23] We was drinking and having a good time. And he said they got to talking about the drag queens down at the library trying to teach the kids and all that kind of stuff. And he said we went down there and we caused a ruckus. And after that, we felt that we should stand up for our children and our community. And then we burned the Black Lives Matter flag. And that's how they became racist and Ku Klux Klan and everything by the liberals. And you're going to love it. You're going to love it. You're going to love the interview.
[00:48:52] That's why I sent that last night. You're going to love it. Love him because he understood. Just like Larry Hoover. There's a brother named Larry Hoover that started the Gangster Disciples when I was a kid that came up. It was formed to protect us because of the white gangs when I lived in an all-white neighborhood. But to make a long story short, he's in jail right now since 1973 for crimes he didn't even know about. Somebody else committed a crime. He was a voice in the community.
[00:49:22] He was a father for a lot of the kids like myself that growed up who taught me how to be a man, be respectful, get good grades, all of those things. He's been in jail since 1973 for a RICO Conspiracy Act the same way they did President Trump, the same they did Enrique Tartario. And people, the system is so crooked. We have to examine cases now and really look at what's justice done.
[00:49:51] And 90% of the cases that we've seen, justice has not been done. And people are sitting there innocent in jail, rotting away. But Larry Hoover has been there since 1973. And that's one of the cases that I'm really working on, him and Jeff Ford, to get them out of there. Where's Kim when you need her? You know, and so whatever we can do to help them get out because they were a positive force in the black community.
[00:50:20] Pastor David, where's Kim Kardashian when you need her? She's got plenty of money. She has an interest in this. She needs to help us. She does, but I don't know. If you guys can find her, let her know, and we'll work with her. I don't have a problem. I'll work with anybody that's going to do some righteous work. This is not about money anymore, man. Just remember this. I don't care how big your house is. I don't care how big your car is. And you can have a trillion dollars in the bank. If you don't have your health, you have no wealth.
[00:50:50] And when you die, you're not going to take none of this stuff with you. When I was on my deathbed that day, that dreadful day, and I thought about all the money I had and the cars and the restaurant and all the great people that I knew, it was just me and God. And none of that stuff was going with me. So what does it profit a man or a woman to gain the world and lose their soul? Enjoy that stuff because you're only a renter.
[00:51:17] Because when you're gone, somebody else is going to pick up the rent and keep it going. That's it. Sheriff Mack? Very well said, Pastor. That was beautiful. It's a pleasure to be associated with you. And even more so, it's a pleasure and an honor to call you friend. We're grateful for your message. And, man, this has really got me excited. Thank you.
[00:51:43] Thank you so much for your love and your Christian belief. Man, just any – Sheriff, you and Sam, we need to really do something because I think God don't make no mistakes. We all have our weight in which way we can start working together to make a difference and invite the world to what we're doing. We need patriots and we need men and women of God to stand firm. That's it.
[00:52:12] And then, you know, in the Bible it talks about that after the great catastrophe that Christ would come and that would be a thousand years of peace on the earth. Guess what? Christ is here. He is the Christ that's in all of us. When you look in the mirror, you see Christ. It's the righteousness that's in us that calls us to be Christ-like.
[00:52:42] We have to really understand that Christ is in us because we are the body of Christ. If we become the body of Christ like we are and we acknowledge it and we seek the kingdom and righteousness, there will be peace on the earth, brother. Amen to that. Speaking of David Lowery's point about you can't take it with you, there's a Christian song. It's by a country singer named Christian Bush and it's called Trailer Hitch.
[00:53:12] And basically the song basically says, I've never seen a Hurst with a trailer hitch. Trailer Hitch. That's true. You ain't going to take nothing, not even the guts that you came in with. You're going to be completely gone. But the good news is God's over all. And if we turn to God Almighty, God, family, and country, we can achieve success.
