[00:00:04] Broadcasting live from atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West. You are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show. Alan Jackson is famously quoted as saying in one of his songs, I don't know the difference between Iraq and Iran. Welcome to the broadcast ladies and gentlemen, I'm Sam Bushman and we've got the Honest Money Report straight ahead. Happy to have you along.

[00:00:33] Kirk Crosby is still with me, localhoneyman.com. And so he's the honey man. We've got the money man. Our dear friend Heath Perkins with us, freewatercoinco.com with the Honest Money Report. And I'm Sam Bushman, hopefully the funny man. But some people say you think you're funny, don't you? Maybe you need to go get a day job. So comedian, no. Anyway, money, funny, honey, it's all on your radio and TV. The Honest Money Report starts now. Where's gold looking, Heath?

[00:01:03] Yeah, gold has come down a little bit since last week. So we're up $4,168.70. And silver? $61.13. So down as well. All right. That's interesting because that kind of tracks inflation. They claim inflation's cooled slightly as well. But the economy is a booming. So I think the Feds are going to be raising interest rates once again before Christmas. Merry Christmas. Heath, what do you think? Is that right? Is it kind of tied to inflation a little bit?

[00:01:34] It seems like they've said that it's cooling off or is it not cooling off? They say that inflation's cooling a little bit. It's still there, but it's not as bad as they expected it. Gotcha. Yeah, so when inflation goes up, potentially silver and gold go up, but it's kind of been, ever since last October, it really hasn't followed things very systematically anymore.

[00:01:59] There's a very, there's a different feel about it and there's a disconnect from normal behavior in the past. So normally, yes. You're right. And the reason that is, is because we're in pretty much uncharted waters. You know, when have we been at war where and then inflation's cranking up at the same time we're kind of at war. And then, you know, you've got inflation happening, but then you've got shortages of certain things. And then you've got interest rates being cranked up.

[00:02:28] You know, the Fed seems to be a little bit of an enemy to Trump. Anything Trump wants to do, everybody else is against. It seems like, sadly, but true. Anyway, you've got a very strange dynamic of uncharted waters, Kurt. Oh, man, you couldn't agree more, Sam. And yet, so many times, those solutions are, I mean, they're right there in front of us.

[00:02:52] I mean, I was just looking at a 2026 $5 gold coin from the U.S. Treasury, you know, and you think, five bucks? Well, I could do that. And yet, you look at it, and it's nearly $500. You know, I mean, the solutions are right there.

[00:03:14] This is coinage from the U.S. government, you know, and it shows you, you look at the Constitution, Article 1, Section 10. No state shall make anything but gold and silver coin of tender and payment of debts. Hey, you know, the solutions are right there. And just like on Heath's website, it says our quarter can still buy a gallon of gas. And frankly, I would say, well, our dime can still, you know, nearly buy a gallon of gas.

[00:03:44] If you just have the right... Yeah, they're talking about a gallon of gas and you can go in and get some snacks too, Kurt. Come on. Well, yeah. I mean, you're going to be getting more than a snack or two. You can get a couple of gallons that way, you know. But, you know, the bottom line is... It is strange, isn't it? Yeah, those solutions are right in front of us. You know, the external revenue service versus the internal revenue service.

[00:04:07] You know, the guys that are telling us about inflation that they're going to fix it are the main guys that cause it. I mean, you know, we just see it all... I mean, once you see that donkey hiding in the tree, you just can't unsee it, you know. Well, and the interesting thing about this, Heath, is they say this. You know, any inflation that's a little bit high is really bad. As long as inflation is under control, it's good.

[00:04:36] We need about 2% inflation. That's kind of our target. And I'm thinking 2% just means you robbed me slow instead of fast. I don't want inflation at all. What is inflation? And the answer is it's a manipulation of supply and demand and the currency that basically transacts all that, right? Yeah.

[00:04:55] Inflation is the slow theft of society through, you know, erosion of your purchasing power. And the struggle with inflation and the reason why it doesn't seem like it's going to go away anytime soon is you've got all these uber-wealthy individuals who don't want to work. And the only way for them not to work is to have these massive accounts earn interest. The only way to pay that interest is to cause more inflation.

[00:05:23] Because when that money is pulled out of the market and kept in these huge accounts, it doesn't enter the market again because they usually spend less than the interest they earned every year. So there has to be more money being added to the market. So this system functions around this group that will never lose their wealth because there's always going to be more money added to the market because these central banks will always add more money to the market.

[00:05:50] Yeah, pretty soon your kids will make like $10 million a year, but their house will cost $80 million a year. And it'll just be insane. That's why back in the old days they at least biblically understood the truth. They were fleecing people and they knew it, but they had a jubilee every so often, which means debt forgiveness and let's start over, Kurt. Yeah, good point, Sam. I mean, imagine having one of those jubilee years ourselves, you know? Hey, I agree for that. The only problem with the jubilee years is it kind of makes people believe just go in debt

[00:06:19] because the jubilee's coming. So just get as much debt as fast as you can. That's a good point. And it'll be free even later. So we've got to be careful of those kinds of things. But the point illustrates that, hey, something's got to give somewhere is kind of the reality. Now, this is interesting. Trump said we're getting out of Iraq. And Alan Jackson in a country song said, I don't know the difference between Iraq and Iran. Well, by golly, with all the wars, you're going to learn the difference. We're getting out of Iraq while we're continuing in Iran. But look, I would say this. This is a kudos to President Trump.

[00:06:48] How many presidents would let the guys come home and we get out of something for a change? Most presidents just keep us in things forever. We're in over 130 nations militarily speaking as it already is. And so when they're bringing the people home, to me, that's a kudos, Kurt. Oh, couldn't agree more, Sam. And, you know, I mean, like Ron Paul said so many times, we went in, we walked in, we can just walk back out.

[00:07:13] You know, in so many of these instances, that's exactly what we need to do. Take care of our own country and our own hemisphere, if you will. Well, you know, it's true, there are bad guys around the earth, but, man, we can not literally take care of it. When we're 40 plus trillion in the hole, you know, there's solutions to that.

[00:07:38] But we're not just like flush with cash to pay for anything like that. Just look at things. We just need to bring it home and follow the Constitution. Well, we give a big kudos to President Trump on that. And we say, hey, do more where that came from, sir. What can we do to help? We'd like to do more where that came from. That's for sure. All right. Back to Heath Perkins with us. It's freewatercoinco.com.

[00:08:05] Rural voters voice growing economic frustration. A new AP poll, I guess. A survey finds that about half of rural voters believe that the economy is worse than when Trump returned to office. Their views are mattering because the November contested races are coming up and the Republicans are in a concerning situation. You want to respond to this one, Heath? And what do you think on that?

[00:08:33] Yeah, well, I think we neglect a lot of the rural because we just think that the major areas will kind of move the vote. But at the same time, like these rural voters, you know, that's what's kept the Republicans in power. And if they're going to start swaying to a different tune, whether that's an independent or some alternative, like you need to start addressing what's happening.

[00:09:03] And they've lost half their faith of that base, that the system is getting better. So how do you move forward with less confidence? I mean, I think like right now, Trump's last I heard his polls were right on 28 to 35 percent approval rating. And that's with his own. And I think there's a lot of reasons for that, Heath.

[00:09:29] I think one, you know, there's some things that he's done that I really don't think are the wisest. I support terrorists, for example, but you've got to get Congress involved. And that's created a lot of lawsuits. And there's a lot of things that he's done that, you know, they could be done right. But because he's so frustrated with a do-nothing, derelict in their duties Congress, Trump's decided I'm just going to move forward anyway. It's hard to blame him for that. But at the same time, it's caused nothing but havoc. And the reason I bring that up is because then the news spins it.

[00:09:59] I hardly get the truth on many of these things that are really the case. Oftentimes I hear something about Trump and I think, oh, that's crazy. I hear the news and think, OK. And then about six months later, I hear, oh, Trump was right on this. Trump was right on that. I hear the news and I hear the news and I hear the news and I hear the news and I hear the news and I hear the news and I hear the news. And so now an Iowa judge dismisses Trump's lawsuit against newspapers and pollsters.

[00:10:26] And the state judge dismissed the president's case against the Des Moines Register and then the pollsters. Anyway, there's a lot of lawsuits related to the press elections that he tells. And I find that all these courts just go against Trump. But I think a lot of times there's a core truth element in what Trump's saying. These people are intentionally reporting misinformation. And I don't know that you want to violate the free speech of America over it.

[00:10:54] But at the same time, what do you do? You know, you just let them peddle propaganda and have the tax share payers pay for it. It's crazy. Well, when your news source can't be relied upon for factual information, everything's kind of at a loss because there's just too much time that it takes to filter through all them up to get to the truth.

[00:11:19] And without having individuals that are out there and pay the press, the news for that service. And they're doing us a disservice by not being honest with us. It's hard to make heads or tails of things. So. And Kurt, where do you go with this? When it's one thing for someone to report something that they believe to be true or document something as their opinion on something.

[00:11:46] But when you're the quote news generators and you get access to the White House or you're, you know, you've got special privilege in this or that, whether it be NPR or whatever else. And then you intentionally report things that, you know, or blatantly false because you hate Trump or whatever reason. At some point, there's a balance here. Right. Well, I couldn't agree more, Sam. And you look at I remember the early days of us working together 30 plus years ago, something in there.

[00:12:14] And you'd say he who owns the media makes the rules. And you'd say, you know, the new media is taking center stage. Well, you know, you you see lately that the CNN, the MSDNC guys and in Politico, at least as well as a few others are. Well, President Trump's turning up the heat on them. And I think it's rightly done.

[00:12:43] And there's no reason those, in my opinion, traitors to the country should have access to the highest levels of government, you know, should act like they just own the White House. I mean, it's just crazy. And so I I welcome what's been done. And, you know, I I hope to see more of it then. And like to say, man, I went to the Republican convention back when Trump got elected in 16. Yeah.

[00:13:12] And when I was there, I had a political reporter come on with me. And his name was James or Jamie or something like that. I don't have it handy. But anyway, he loved the interview. He thought I was great. I said, would you come back? He said, absolutely. That was incredible. You're fair. You're honest. You know, you're. So he loved it. And then he found out who I was. Then he rioted and told everybody all over the country. Oh, man, I'll never go on that program. That was crazy. It was horrible. He baited me and pretended he was something he wasn't. This and that. I never did any such thing.

[00:13:40] The poor guy just got caught in the trap of the evil media that hates everybody else if you don't carry their ball. And that's the problem. Now, New York and California are suing President Trump over canceled offshore wind projects. Trump wants to cancel them. The states are challenging, quote, federal deals that pay companies to give offshore wind leases.

[00:14:04] And their attorneys general are saying that the administration's approach is tampering development, raising costs, etc. Hampering development, raising costs. And I look at that and I just go, wait a minute. Trump just sees that it doesn't make sense, that it's not a viable solution for power. And so he's saying, let's not put federal money into that. And now these people are rioting going, we've been on the dole forever. How dare you go against socialism and stop us? Heath? Yeah.

[00:14:33] Like, let's be honest. We can look at Europe for all of these zero emission outcomes and they're bankrupt. Europe is kind of dead in the water right now with energy and the ability to, you know, rely upon these intermittent forms of energy as their solution. All these European nations have also fallen for that zero emissions, that green movement.

[00:15:03] It's a great thing in theory, but in the end, the numbers are the numbers. It doesn't add up. When you take offline all of these nuclear power plants and replace them with all of these solar panels and wind farms, you can't get what you need out of all of that because, again, it's intermittent and it's a huge tax on the infrastructure.

[00:15:26] You are overburdening the infrastructure of the system because you have power that's really high at one point because there's a lot of wind and then all of a sudden it dies down and then it ramps back up. And with solar, it's night and day, night and day. And so it's always coming on, going off, coming on, going off. Now, you don't get consistent forms of energy that way. And they've also, with their green movement, even taken refineries offline, fuel refineries. And so if you look at that... And they're taking coal plants offline too.

[00:15:56] Many of them are clean coal plants too. Mm-hmm. Yeah. If we look at these things and see Europe as, you know, the original guinea pig for all of these green movements, we can understand that, hey, it doesn't make any sense. We need to find additional solutions to this that actually will give us a real number of realities, something that's going to be a solution and not just something that's, you know, a nice gesture.

[00:16:22] Some people who are anti-Trump 100%, they're Trump derangement syndrome. And then people that are extremely love Trump no matter what he does, they think I'm kind of schizophrenic because when Trump does something good, I give him a lot of credit. But when he does something bad, I speak up and tell you the tale of truth as I see it. Doesn't mean I'm always right. Trump could be right and I could be wrong too, by the way. I'm human as well. But I just call it as I see it. And I try to square things with the Constitution and the rule of law and God's law and morality. And I try to do the best that I can.

[00:16:51] This, again, is another positive Trump story, though. Headline. And it's negative that it's happening, but it's positive on Trump's side. Here it is. Federal appeals court questions the Trump administration's effort to dismantle three federal agencies. Yeah, federal appeals court heard arguments over administrative actions affecting the, quote,

[00:17:15] minority business development agency, federal mediation and reconciliation service. Wow. Now, and U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, they want to basically get rid of those. And the judges are questioning, saying, hey, can the executive branch shut congressionally created agencies down and fire or let go of all of their staffs, et cetera? And it's a big battle. And I would say that, yes, Trump can shut those things down.

[00:17:45] Because at the end of the day, they control the purse strings. But at the end of the day, he has to carry out the use of the purse strings. So just because you give me a billion dollars, if I'm the executive, I can say, I'm not spending that billion dollars. I'm the executive here. You guys said you wanted me to spend it, but I'm telling you that I'm not willing to. And so this is an epic battle. And I think that some are claiming the president's trying to take too much power. In this case, I disagree.

[00:18:10] What he's trying to do is be responsible with the sacred trust of the funding that he's been given to determine if it's not appropriate or wise. Because there's, for example, facts that we didn't know before. As we've had doge and discovered some of these things, we're like, wait a minute, wait a minute, hold on. This isn't what Congress thought it was when they appropriated it. I'm stopping it now. And I think he has authority to do that, Kurt. Well, I couldn't agree more, Sam.

[00:18:34] I mean, in your lifetime, besides talking about eliminating federal agencies, has anybody ever done it? Not that I have. I can't think of them. And yet, you know, we know that's going on with the Department of Education. And, man, there's so much more that could be done. And we know also that he's eliminated a whole bunch of federal jobs.

[00:19:03] And yet the increase in labor and the statistics is moving up and up with the new manufacturing and the construction jobs in America. But those are highlights that the lamestream media won't touch. Right, Sam? Well, and that's really the problem that we face, and that's why I kind of say, folks, Trump's trying to shut down agencies.

[00:19:31] Trump's trying to reduce the size and scope and eventually end the IRS. Trump's trying to end the education department. We just need Congress to back it because then they go, Trump can't do that without Congress. Well, if Congress just passes a law real quick, then he sure can. We need to basically get unified in some of this stuff. But this one's interesting, Heath. I want to get your take. Headline says, Scientists Sue NIH. That's the National Institutes of Health.

[00:19:54] Over new federal grant screening system, the scientists finally proposed class action lawsuit challenging the National Institutes of Health, claiming that, hey, the screening violates constitutional protections. So what this is about is, hey, man, they want grants. And the feds are saying we've got to look at these grants, make sure they're legitimate. They're going, no, you've just got to give us the cash. Congress approved it and we get it. And you can't be in the middle and look at that and make sure it's on the up and up. No, sir.

[00:20:23] And so now we're a suit-happy nation, sir. Yes. No, we're at that point where Doge revealed a lot of things. You know, Musk did a lot of good work there with, you know, discovering a lot of this. And we're at the point where individuals want to keep playing that same game, where they can get funds without a responsibility involved with it.

[00:20:52] And so there's that struggle that we're seeing. And you still have the old crowd that still wants to play that same game. I think everything should be put on hold right now until we figure out our debt. Amen for that. I'm saying it's for president. Well, how do you, I mean, any family who's ever gone through, and let's look at this as reality. Like, the U.S. has a lot of assets.

[00:21:22] In 2008, they bought Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That's 90% of all the mortgages in the U.S. They have all the BLM land. They have all the national parks. They have all the coastlines. Like, these are a lot of assets. If the U.S. defaults, that goes to whoever owns the debt. These aren't assets you get to keep as a nation if you default. Like, we have to look at this in a realistic way. And constitutionally, they don't belong to the feds anyway. They've been stolen.

[00:21:47] If you really read and understand the constitution, there's limits and lists of what the government can have and why and everything else. So that's a big problem. Final story before the end of the hour that I want to get to. Trump accelerates federal judicial nominations ahead of midterms. Yeah, he's moving quickly to fill federal judicial vacancies. Nominating 13 judges in August alone.

[00:22:11] And his administration has confirmed 54 judges during his second term so far. And he needs to get more done. I couldn't agree with that more because we've really got to realize the courts are where the battles are happening, Kurt. Well, yeah, Sam. And so many of these judges, they basically just make themselves, well, they make themselves like a king or a president. And most of them have never even been elected. You know? I mean, it's incredible.

[00:22:40] It's a sad tale to tell. And I think that's one thing we need to really, really get a handle on. And so I think a lot of the things Trump and company have done haven't been reported properly. So people don't really know, number one. And number two, hey, Congress has really been derelict in their duty. I mean, these clowns are on vacation again right now already. The House is gone. The Senate is leaving. And they're just going to basically hang out. Why do we let them take a month vacation before elections and we pay them, I mean, literally, you know, 200 grand a year each. So that's what? You know, like 17 grand a month or something like that.

[00:23:10] We pay them 17 grand so they can run for election to use their incumbency to stay in power, Kurt. Something's wrong with that, too. Amen to that. You know. It's a game we've got to fix. Heath, on money, what should we keep an eye on the most and what should we invest in? Where's the sweet deals? Right now with silver being kind of at its low for the year, silver is a great purchase.

[00:23:39] Gold as well is down. So both of those are great purchases. But overall, a 90% silver is probably your best bet. You're buying that at melt right now. So junk, dimes, nickels, quarters? Yeah, the dimes, the quarters, and the halves. The halves, okay. Yep. That's your best bet. All right. Heath Perkins, thank you so much, my friend. We appreciate you, ladies and gentlemen.
