Lew discusses the origins of the continued, organized effort coming from the top to force total government on our society focused on three areas: political power and policy, socially engineered societal changes, and the growth of technology as the means to enforce complete tyranny. Author Stuart Chase was on the scene at many critical junctures promoting the gradual Marxist strategy in all three of these areas.
It is more than curious that the two huge efforts that grew the size and reach of government were proceeded by books these efforts would be named after. Both had openly Fabian socialist authors. Graham Wallis, a British Fabian, wrote A Great Society, in 1910. Stuart Chase wrote A New Deal just prior to the beginning of the FDR administration in 1933.
Chase also spread the ideas of another Marxist Fabian socialist, Thorstein Veblen, who predicted it would be the masters of advanced technology who would usher in the culmination of the total government project. Today we see the “tech bros” building what could easily become a digital prison where our government has complete control over us.
