Black History Monk has evolved into focusing mostly on females, so I will follow suit. Lolin or Ron Edwards on today's page from the Everards Nobook. Unice Berdell Rivers was born in eighteen ninety nine in Tuskegee, Alabama's farming community. She was one of three girls raised by loving parents who encouraged them to do well in school, graduate from college, and escape the brutality of life in the South. Eunice and her two sisters excelled. Eunice Rivers became a nurse in nineteen twenty two. She also became a trusted health authority for Black American families in time. Eunus Rivers was so trusted by the Tuskegee black community she eventually joined forces with racist white medical doctors and the famous Tuskegee experiments that used black men as tortured human guinea pigs. Her trusted position in and around the rural black farming community enabled her to recruit six hundred black men to participate in the agonizing study if they had syphilis. In return, the men received pre medical care. The men were never ever given the medical treatment that could have cured them of the syphilis. As a result, they died agonizing deaths, while Eunus Rivers and her white medical superiors conducted the Duskegee Experiments until nineteen seventy two. I'm ron Edwitch.
