Hello, I'm or Ron Edwards on today's pace from the Yeward's Notebook, brought to you by Root Brand's premium health products. Did you know a man stole an entire warship just to buy his own Southern Democrat master's house. Forget fiction, This is the insane story of Robert Small's In eighteen sixty two. Smalls was an enslaved crewman on a Confederate ship. One night, the captain went to party. Smalls saw his chance to free himself, so he put on the captain's big straw hat and long coat to disguise himself. He sailed past five heavily armed enemy forts in the dark. He mimicked the captain's hand signals perfectly. The guards had no clue, so they waved him through. By sunrise, he reached the Union blockade and surrendered the ship. Can't just escape, He delivered the enemy's own guns to the US Navy. He became a national hero and got a huge reward. But here's the best part. He went back home and bought his former master's mansion. The former master left with very little talk about an unbelievable reversal of fortunes.
