This is Faith Day and we are celebrating Christmas. Absolutely, we're going to be talking with Denise Edwards. She is the head of a Zikaraie two five, a worldwide prayer ministry, and she's also a great chaplain at GCU Academy, and she's a board member as i am as well, and we're gonna be talking with her in just a bit. And we want to thank all of you throughout the world for joining us today and celebrating the reason for the season and this most wonderful time of the year. Before we get into that, of course, there's always a little bit of reality, well other reality we have to deal with. For example, in Chicago, a high schooler died after suffering a stroke during swim practice. The reason why I'm bringing that up is because strokes with a fourteen year old, I think that has to be that used. For a young person to have a stroke at one time was one of the most unusual things to happen to the young in not only America but anywhere in the world. But strokes are becoming more and more common with young people around the world, especially here in the United States. Among those who took the shot, took the job not good well. Christmas road trips this holiday might be a challenging situation for those who are driving an electric vehicle, and because of that, they may also wreak havoc and heavy traffic on the ribbons of roadway straddling throughout our republic because evs have a hard time. Those batteries have a hard time in very cold weather. And if you're in heavy traffic and all of a sudden, it just goes poof and you're in all this traffic. Let's say you're heading into Chicago or Philadelphia or Cleveland or something like that to go to grandma's house or grandmother's and grandfather's house, and boy, oh boy, you conk out. So it's going to be a lot of It's going to be very interesting, to say the least. But anyway, folks, as we are celebrating the Christmas holiday, Christmas has a very special meaning because the Christmas Story in the Bible is a profound narrative cherished by believers throughout the world. It is a profound tale of love, It is a tale of faith. Anyway, the Christmas Story in the Bible is a profound narrative cherished by believers throughout the world as a tale of love, faith, and commitment that resonates deeply with those who seek the true meaning of the Christmas season. As we throughout the world approach this special time of year, let us delve deeper into the intricacies of this extraordinary story, unveiling the layers of meaning and significant surrounding the birth of Baby Yeshua. This timeless narrative unfolds primarily in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, creating a rich tapestry of events, prophecies, and divine interventions that combine to paint a vivid portrait of the birth of the King of Us. All the journey into this story commences in the modest town of Nazareth, nestled in the region of Galilee. It is right there that we find Mary, a young and devout woman betrothed to a righteous man named Joseph. Now Joseph is a descendant of the revered line of King David and carries the weight of history upon his broad shoulders, for he is destined to play a pivotal role in the unfolding of divine prophecy. Mary was a young virgin known for her piety and unwavering faith. It is in the sixth month of her cousin Elizabeth's pregnancy that the Angel of the Lord Gabriel makes his momentous descent from the highest heaven to the quiet streets of Nazareth. The divine presence of Gabriel is evident in his proclamation, Rejoice, favored one, the Lord is with you. The Angel said unto her, do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. And the magnitude of this message is beyond comprehension. Gabriel reveals to Mary the divine plan. She, a young and pure virgin, is chosen to conceive child Truth Holy Spirit. This child, the one foretold by the ancient prophets, is to be named Yeshuah, the Son of the Most High. It is an announcement that marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey, one that will forever alter the course of human history. The angel replied, the Holy Spirit will come unto you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. That's in the Gospel of Luke, chapter one, verse thirty five. Mary, despite her initial astonishment, responds with unwavering faith and submission to God. She declared, Mary, it be unto me as you have said. In these words, she demonstrates her extraordinary character, deep devotion, and unwillingness to carry out God's most divine will. She said, I am the Lord's servant. Mary answered, may your word be fulfilled. Then the Angel quickly left her. And we do find and understandably that one named Joseph went through a period of disbelief. Can you blame him? Joseph was a traditional man for his time. He was a Jewish man who took pride in his work as a carpenter and followed the laws of the land to the best of his ability. That is why when it was revealed unto him that his betrothed was pregnant, he was filled with shock and yes, understandable anger. It was not an anger that was filled with hate or malice, but rather one of fear and misunderstanding. Mary was not yet his wife, and finding out that she was with child would be a betrayal and dishonor to him. According to the laws of the time, Joseph could have had Mary stoned and put to death. However, Joseph was a good man and he did not seek vengeance. Soon a messenger visited Joseph as well. This messenger told Joseph what they had told Mary, that the child would be the savior of all the people, as the prophesied Messiah. It was then that Joseph decided to marry his betrothed and protect her and her family from all disgrace. Joseph would live his life as the father of Yeshua, even though he knew that Yeshuah was not born of his flesh and blood. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, and it said, Joseph's son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary Home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from holy spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name of Yeshua, because he will save his people from their sins. And we live for that blessing to this very day. We will continue in conversation on this the Ron Edwards Faith. Hello Denise, and welcome to the Rond Edwards American Experience. Good afternoon, and Merry Christmas to all of the Ryan Edwards audience. And Merry Christmas to Doug and all you good people. Amen. Hey, the story of Christmas. We have the historic story that I was talking about before the break and everything, and the original story of Jesus, his birth and how it came to be, and there are many other stories when it comes to Christmas. We all have personal stories and things that happened in our childhood and fond memories that we partook of with our families and with friends, et cetera, et cetera. And I know that you have some great stories to share with us and just wanted to have you to spend this time with us and celebrate Christmas with us today. Well, thank you for having me. And when you talk about favorite Christmases, I'm very blessed to be able to have more than a couple that I you know, I'd almost have to just got been really trying to narrow it down because I'm there blessed that did. I have the same parents growing up. My parents were marred for fifty two years, so I have a lot of memories that include the two of them. But I think if I had to go in rank of favorite Christmas, it kind of ties there two very different things. I remember the first time I was able to sing in the children's choir on Christmas Eve. My parents went to a very traditional church, and these very nice. They was a very traditional church, but they always the fun thing was that there was always Christmas Eve Mass. We would have masks like you know, so that we were celebrating at midnight. We were celebrating the bringing in of Christmas. And I would I remember when I got I was able to join the children's choir, and that was, for some reason a huge deal to me. I remember, you know, we had on our little robes, our little gowns, and we always came in from the back of the church and they were you know, I remember the stinky encense. Good Lord. I don't know why they waived those things, but I remember that, and I remember, you know why, came in from the back of the church and down the aisle and then entering into the choir off and I just, I don't know, I felt so special. I felt like, Wow, I get to sing for Jesus on his birthday, you know, not understanding all the contexts not you know, Jesus' physical birthday was not December twenty fifth, but that's another story for another day. But in my heart, I was still singing to the Savior on his birthday, and I just thought I had to have been one of the most special children in the world that I got to say on that day. So I don't know, I may sound a little silly, but I still remember it as a wonderful experience. To me, that is a wonderful experience, especially for a child. It is still a blessing that your parents and your church recognized Christ in such a manner that to me, that is a blessing and that helped pave the path that you walked today with the issue. And one of the favorite memories of mine are not quite like that, but every Christmas, it was guaranteed growing up in Cleveland, you're going to have a bunch of snow at least back then, and we always, especially in my much younger years, we went Christmas carolling, and I thought that was one of the most wonderful things you could ever do. You're going from house to house, neighbor and a neighbor down different blocks and everything, singing Christmas carols, and people would come to their doors and some of them would bring us hot chocolates and things of that nature. And it was just a real wonderful time of the year, Denise, in all of the Christmas lights and things of that nature. It was just people just coming together. And there were literally people from all walks of life, the Eastern European and US, few blacks that were in the neighborhood and things of that nature. It was just a great time. And I could feel the sincerity and the love of the people that they had for the Lord, and oh, it was just it was just it was just wonderful. And then when you think about when you would go downtown and just see the massive Christmas displays and the giant Nativity scene and all of that and things like that, so it just seemed to be such a more wonderful time of the year. There was a change. There was literally a spiritual Now I realized it was a spiritual change, and why they would talk about how people were much more friendly during this time of year and the world seemed to be a much nicer place. And it literally was during the Christmas season growing up. It's kind of different today. I don't see that that that dramatic change that I used to see, because back then it was all over. Everyone celebrated to a certain degree Christmas, and they recognized the reason for the season was Jesus Christ. Yes, Santa Claus was recognized, but Jesus Christ, for the most part was was number one in the hearts of the people, and that was where the warmth came from. The genuineness. Yeah, and it just felt good to be alive. Man, it was just a wonderful time of the year. Would see you the unity. As you said, there was such an agreement, whether it was the blocks and blocks and blocks of the Christmas decorations, because we used to have contests where we were growing up, and people would work hard, people would spend real money. I remember one year my father built an actual cross that lit up and it went over the door of our house. But when I think back spiritually now as a Bible teacher, I think, boy, there's a lot that that meant and that even I didn't understand back then. But I remember building a genormous cross that it was inside of the triangles because that are the way a roof was pitched. It slid right into the pitch of the roof over the front door. And you know, I remember helping him that. I remember, you know, God little, how many times did you, you know, plug in the lights to see if if all the bulbs were letting, and he had to go change the bulbs since they didn't, and it would have, you know, the durned tensil that would get all over the carpet. My mother would have a fit over that tensil. And I still even remember the ugly I don't know if you ever had one of these rounds, but I remember the ugly silver Christmas tree that was on a spinner and then it would have colored lights that would aim at the tree that was the coolest tree. We were really doing it. You know what. I didn't have much authority in my house because I was the youngest one, but I put up such a fit that they would that that never crossed into into our house. My older sisters wanted one nobby. I went, I went to Nutsville. I said no, way, We're not going to do this, not gonna happen. And for once I got my way. I mean a bunch of aluminum. I said, wait a minute, what are we going to do. We could get these aluminum plies, you know, the the We could cut those up and make a tree. I mean, why spend money on the I mean it was ridiculous. Yeah, because I enjoyed decorating a real tree and and all that, but it was Yes, this was just a corner tree. This wasn't the main tree, but it sat in a corner and I just remember my mother thought it was just so cool and and the lights would change and it spun around and oh my god. Yeah it was ugly. I mean, you know, once we all, I think after the novelty wore off. I'm not if it made it even to a second Christmas. I certainly doesn't make it to a third. But it was the novelty. You know, you had something you know, new and and what have it. But yes, no, we always had the main Christmas. She never could have a real tree because of wish. My mound had a lot of allergies and she hated having a vacuum up all the pine needles and what have you. But because we had a lot of friends that had real trees, and I love the smell. I had relatives that only you know. It almost could be a battle, you know, artificial tree versus a real tree, you know. And you did have your snobs in that area, for sure. Yes, you were on a fish on trees. They were looking, they were frowned upon by the authentic, genuine celebratory masses. Yes, but yeah, I do remember that. But I did love going traveling around the city of Detroit and seeing the competitions jes housing after house after house decorated and people would get so imaginative stuff on the roof the lawn. It was just so wonderful. Yeah, and now you go through those same neighborhoods and it's all dark. It looks like April fifteenth or something. It does. It is very little difference now, and that's really sad. It's really sad, but will commenced with more joy on this the round at which American experience with our special guest today, Denise Edwards. When we return after this this is past. Hello, I'm Ron Edwards on Today's page from the Edwards Notebook. The candy maker began with a stick of pure white hard candy to symbolize the virgin birth and sinless nature of Jesus. Candy maker made the candy in the form of a jay to represent the name of Jesus, who came to earth as our savior. It also represented the staff of the good Shepherd, who reaches down into the ditches of the world to lift out the fallen lambs that have gone astray. Realizing his candy was very plain, the candy maker stated, with red stripes symbolize the scourging Jesus received by which we are all healed. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Jesus on the cross so that we could have the promise of eternal life. Unfortunately, the candy became known only as a candy cane, a meaningless decoration seen at Christmas time. But the meaning is still there for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. I pray that this symbol will again be used to witness the wonder of Jesus and his great love that came down to us remained the ultimate and dominant force in the universe today and forever. Merry Christmas, and may God bless everyone. I'm run atwards. Join me live week days three pm Eastern to find out where follow me via Truth Social at the Edwards Notebook One. Good evening. At Christmas time, every home takes on a special beauty, a special warmth, And that's certainly true with the White House, where so many famous Americas have spent their Christmases over the years. At this special time of year, we all renew our sense of wonder in recalling the story of the First Christmas in Bethlehem nearly two thousand years ago. Some celebrate Christmas is the birthday of a great and good philosopher and teacher. Others of us believe in the divinity of the child born in Bethlehem, that he was and is the promised Prince of peace tonight in millions of American homes, the glow of the Christmas tree is a reflection of the love Jesus taught us. Like the shepherds and wise men of that First Christmas, we Americans have always tried to follow a higher light, a star, if you will, at a lonely campfire of vigils along the frontier in the darkest days of the Great Depression, so war and peace, the twin beacons of faith and freedom have brightened the American sky. At times our footsteps may have forded, but trusting in God's help, We've never lost our way. So let this holiday season be for us a time of rededication. Christmas means so much because of one special child, but Christmas also reminds us that all children are special, that they are gifts from God, gifts beyond price that mean more than any presence money can buy, in their love and laughter, in our hopes for their future, true meaning of Christmas. So, in a spirit of gratitude for what we've been able to achieve together over the past year, and looking forward to all that we hope to achieve together in the year's end, Nancy and I want to wish you all the best of holiday seasons. Charles Dickens who said so well in a Christmas Carol, God bless us everyone good night. That was the giver Ronald in one of our greatest presidents giving a Christmas greeting to we in the United States. You know who used to give a great Christmas greeting every single year, Quinn Elizabeth. Believe it or not, she gave a great Christmas greeting. I always would look forward to her greetings, and I thought they were very sincere and very well put. You could say what you want about her, yeah, your name, but she gave fantastic greetings as well. Anyway, let's get back to our guests. Her name is Denise Edwards sends. She's back. She's back again. She's back. Against's back again. Welcome back, Denise. And as we are celebrating the birth of a Yeshuah, our Savior, and it is amazing when I just think about the greatness of Jesus, the magnificence of the Heavenly Father and Holy Spirit, and how he humbled himself to come into a little flesh body and give that up in such a torturous way so that we the people of the world could have that chance for eternal life with him. That he was willing to go through all of that, despite all of our machinations and everything else. I'm utterly amazed by that love and commitment every single day. What say you? Yes? And I agree with that. In fact that as a Bible teacher, one of the main things I have said repeatedly over the years is that I respect I don't just love the Lord, but I have such a respect for the father, because one of my pet peeves is when people won't take ownership. My teeth ground. The first time I understood what took place in the Book of Genesis, when the first thing, you know, out of the mouths of Adam and Eve was you know, Adam looked at God, you gave me this woman, and he was like, well, I got tricked by the serpent. You know, everyone was kicking the can and the blame around. And when I look at the cross, when I look at what Jesus Christ did, I see ownership. I see God saying, you know what, I created him. They fell and I had the power to create him, and I am the only one that has the power to redeem him. And at such extreme cost, Jesus Christ gave up the glory for that season, wrapped himself up the plus submitted to being knitted together in the womb and being vulnerable as all new borns and babies are, and allowing himself you know, I mean truly trusting in the care of God. I mean Angel had to come and tell Joseph and Mary, you know, get your grip and go. You got to go to Egypt because they are looking to kill this one. Get out of town. I mean, he submitted to all of the governance and providence of God throughout his entire life, and he redeemed us. And so I have an extraordinary love for the Lord. But I have such a respect for the Father because he owned it, he took full responsibility, and he made a way back to him. And I'm forever grateful for that. And you know, the birth of the Almighty King was also inculcated with great stories of faith. It it took a lot of faith. For instance, when God in a field at night a group of humble shepherds, and they were watching their flock in the night to protect them from animals and thieves. It was this night that the Messiah had been born. Beyond the city limits of Bethlehem, there are shepherds, men of humble occupations, tending to their flocks during the silent night. These shepherds, ordinary people in their own right, become the first recipients of the good news of great joy. An Angel of the Lord appears under them, and in a moment of divine glory, they are enveloped by the radiance of the Lord. And behold, an Angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shown around them, and they were greatly afraid, but the Angel announced, do not be afraid. I bring you good tidings of great joy that will be for all the people today in the city of David. A savior has been born to you. He is the Christ, the Lord. The heavenly proclamation is met with awe and wonder as a multitude of the heavenly host joins the Angel, praising God and declaring glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace among those with whom He is pleased. Again, not only the greatness of God is displayed here, but also the faith of those who partake and adhere to the story of the coming Savior at this time. And it took a lot of faith, in my opinion, for them to look up, to follow a star and to find the baby Jesus Denise. It took a lot of faith, and it took a lot of faith. For Joseph, it took a lot of faith from Mary. I mean, there was just a lot of faith and obedience. And like you mentioned when they said get your grip and go, not only was it great faith on the part of Mary and Joseph, but also, like you said, humbling of Yeshua and Father God. I mean, because I mean, let's let's face it, God could have thumped the emperor, he could have knocked out their their army and stopped all that stuff that was going on. But he said, no, He's going to honor the authority of those governments, and he used his wisdom and got out of the way. And I'm just that just amazes me that I just it. Truly, it just shows you how much not only was he humbling himself, but how much he loves his people, how much he loves us, and he's willing to go that far. And so I I, what say you about that? Well, I have to make this point. I don't even know if you heard what you said, but I think you just revealed the strategy for twenty twenty four. That thing kicked into my spirit so strong when you said that God could have thumped the leadership and many of which she would do that now, But he didn't clock our leadership. As much as we may have all you be celebrating if that were the case. He allowed the authority that was raised up to follow through on its own decree, but he used wisdom, strategy, stealth, and divine intervention to make sure the issue and Joseph and Mary were not harmed. And I received that for us and for all the sign of our voice. I received that strategy. Going forward into twenty twenty four, May we all have divine intervention as some of these things that have been decreed and agreed upon, the dark covenants and bribes and pledges that have been made by leadership in their puppets, as they treat the rest of us as father and colaudal damage, may we experience that same divine protection, provision and interventions. That was great strategy. I don't even know if you heard it when it came out at you. Well, no, I heard it now, oh man. But I'm just I just you know. And maybe that's why, because when you really look at the story of the birth of Jesus, maybe that's why it is people at one time used to read this every year especially and sing songs about it. Maybe that's why this time of the year used to be so warm and so wonderful, and people were so much kinder and things of that nature. And maybe that's why it did the world was a nicer place at this time of the year because people did focus on this story, and I would love to turn a switch on or something like that so that people would once again honor God, especially this time of the year, because this is a gift, the ultimate gifts of all gifts. I mean, there's no greater gift than this. If you can find, if you can tell me, show me, or or reveal to me a greater gift than this, then I'll give you the floor. But I don't think you can. What say, you're Denise, No, absolutely, it is the gift that keeps un giving you. We're all very grateful and I appreciate you taking the time too, you know, if you will kind of rewind and go back to a different time even in the history of our nation, to just, you know, have that that fireplace type moment where you sit by the hearse, if you will, and you have the children spread out in front of you, and you share the truth of Jesus and you share it with your audience with that same you know, fatherly type of it expression, and you know you all you needed was a crackling fire underneath you and what have you. But it was it was great because we have allowed that to escape us and because we're too busy tiktoking and doing everything at a fast pace. And we're here forgotten the genuineness of sitting round about in allowing the person in the middle to share such great stories like you just did. Okay, Well, if you have a few more minutes, you can hang around after the breaks and you can share a few more stories and keep on keeping on on this The Ron Edwards American Experience Christmas Celebration. And of course we do the chapacy in a variety of other things, but that's the primary thing what I do excellent day. Well, you know something I'm still reminded of. I just can't get over how cheerful it used to be when we would go downtown. You went downtown Detroit, you had Hudson's Department Store. I would go to downtown Cleveland. We had Halley's, the one that halle Berry is named after. We had Higbee's Department Store, May Company, Sterling, Linda Davis, Bailey's, and one other one I can't remember. But it was just a terrific time, and you had just the Christmas displays alone were just magnificent. But I'll never forget this, Denise. This was back in the eighties and you had these leftists. All of a sudden, they thought that they were more important than anyone else, and they tried to have it's a very large display on the Nativity scene on Public Square in downtown Cleveland every year. It's been there since for whatever, for whenever rather, and all of a sudden they said, well it needs to be removed because it's offensive to some people. Well, we got activated like crazy, and we lobbied the government and this, that and the other, and of course we went out and to this day it's still displayed every year. But it just amazes me how these people who don't believe in Christ they want to stick their backsides into our faith and they forget or ignore the fact that America was founded on Christian principles. This is or was a Christian nation, and we need to get back to that before she falls over the cliff of despair. What say you on this? Oh? No, I think it was. I'm glad that you guys did that. And absolutely if we don't stand up for our faith, no one else certainly will. So I fully agree with that. Yeah and so, But like I said, you guys had Hudson's department store, and I think you all had another one called Kerns, because they used to call them before my time. I don't remember I remember the street Kurns. There may have been Occurrens. I just it might've been again predated me, but I definitely remember Hudson's. Hudson's was a very famous department store. In fact, that was the last that was the only major department store out of the ten largest city in the cities in the country that I did not see because I always would go to a city like Philadelphia to see Gimbals or whatever, and Marshall Fields in Chicago. Because these these these department stores, especially at Christmas. You know, I guess I was a weird child because to me they represented great symbols of capitalism and just represented a great way of life. And they were like palaces. You walked into these beautiful places and you felt special, uh, in these places, especially at Christmas time. And then you know, that's a reflection of how I'm eric, I felt about Christmas. And then once you started with the bringing in these these shopping malls and all that, the decorations became more cheesy or not not as heavily thematic as they were, and not as colorful, and they're dwindled down today. You know, they'll they'll light up some trees, but you don't see in most cities now, you don't see the Nativity scenes, you don't see the Santa Claus even, and uh, it's just a watering down. And I know it's by design, and that's why I continue to say, we need to push back because it's not about just the holiday itself, it's what they mean and the impact positively that they have on on we the people. Do you agree with that or yeh? What absolutely? Yes, I do? Nice, well, we do. Yes. We lost a lot of those wonderful moments that make childhood memories. You know. That's I think that's that's what we tried so hard growing up with our own children, trying to create memories that would last. And I don't look, you have to work at it now. You really have to apply yourself in order to create a memory for your child because so many of the traditions, if you will, are gone. Yeah, and that and that's sad because those traditions. It was actually a more fun time and people were, like I said, because it was more fun because people were in a in a fun mood and you're going to if you're in a good mood, you're going to come up with fun activities and all of that sort and uh. And the impact of Christmas, in fact, during my childhood was so strong that our Jewish neighbors would come to our house to celebrate with us Christmas because they felt the love and they and they loved the beauty of the season. I mean that to me. That says a lot right there. Yeah, and we we joined them in their in their Henika celebrations. So and and yet I didn't become Jewish, they didn't become Christians. But some of them did, actually because my father witnessed to a few of them. But it was just the love that united us all for that season. And you don't see that today, and it's kind of heartbreaking. You got about thirty seconds or so. Any last words, I just wish everyone a very merry Christmas. I thank the Lord for all of your audience, and I pray that every need is met, and that we will hear the voice of God clearer than ever, clearer than the old church bells that unfortunately no longer ring. That we will hear his voice resonating in our souls and spirits going into twenty twenty four. Don't enter the new year and fear entered and excitement knowing that he's still the same guy that would not destroy the righteous with the wicked. And so stay close to the Lord. Remember the gift is Ryan has so eloquently stated this tack a stage right, that's it now, that my time is up. Thank you so much for your time, and we wish you a merry, merry Christmas. And remember to pray for your friends' friend neighbors, your enemies even and of course our nation. And to treat other says you would want to be treated. Give the gift of love, my friends. I'm run edwards. Merry Christmas. Bye.
