Radio Show Hour 1 – 2026/09/26

Radio Show Hour 1 – 2026/09/26

We discuss an interesting election win, the crush of media attention that immediately followed, and the ways in which the dust appears to be settling. What are the takeaways? Political pro Lew Moore, a former congressional chief of staff and Ron Paul’s presidential campaign manager, is back once again to share facts and opinions.

[00:00:01] You're listening to the Liberty News Radio Network, and this is The Political Cesspool. The Political Cesspool, known across the South and worldwide as the South's foremost populist conservative radio program. And here to guide you through the murky waters of The Political Cesspool is your host, James Edwards.

[00:00:30] Well, we are live, unrehearsed, and uncensored as we always are. Tonight, though, a little bit different. I told my producer, Liz, she said, How are you doing tonight, James? When I got to the studio tonight, I said, Liz, I've never been more unprepared for a show than I am right now. But welcome to tonight's live broadcast of TPC this Saturday evening, September the 26th. The reason for the haphazard nature that we're beginning with tonight is twofold. Number one, Keith is still on the mend.

[00:01:00] You've probably noticed that Keith has not been in the studio this month. He is on the mend and should be back in the saddle full time next week. We were thinking it would be as early as tonight, but he is going to join us over the phone in the second hour. Hopefully by next week, he will be back. That was a last-minute audible. And as everybody knows, my pastor had passed away earlier this month. Well, his funeral was today. They waited 20 days for the funeral.

[00:01:28] And the funeral was today, and I had a chance to actually speak at the funeral. The family asked me to do that. And by the time I got here tonight, not a lot of time. Very, very moving and meaningful to be able to do that, by the way. But I normally like to send my production team the full outline of the guests and the clips and all of that. And we didn't do any of that tonight. And so she's still busy taking down notes by hand, and we're going to get started and see what happens. We'll see what happens.

[00:01:57] But I think we'll get through it together over the course of these next three hours. So I had mentioned last week, and we talked about this movie in passing before over the years. But I had mentioned last week after Jose Nino's appearance in the first hour that, you know, of course, one of our premiums for the third quarter fundraising drive is this 1997 TNT original movie George Wallace starring Gary Sinise.

[00:02:21] And I was praising the movie, and then I got to thinking after the show last week, well, you know, I haven't really watched this movie in about 20 years. So I hope that I'm not operating off of false memories. But I watched it again this week, and Keith did too. And as the movie progressed, we said, you know what, we need to do an hour breaking down this movie. We need to do a movie review and discussion about this movie. It is really remarkable in a lot of ways. So that's what we're going to be doing in the second hour.

[00:02:51] Keith will be joining me over the phone to do that. And then in the third hour, we're going to talk to three men who actually worked on George Wallace's campaigns. Three men who worked on Wallace's campaigns and give them the opportunity to share with us their recollections and remembrances from that pivotal era in American history. That's hours two and three.

[00:03:13] But first, I want to talk to you about a very interesting election in Florida, the crush of media attention that immediately followed, and the ways in which the dust appears to be settling, and what lessons can be learned from this thing that I have been following in the news.

[00:03:35] And political pro Lou Moore, who has been such an ace this year, along with Patrick Martin, Lou Moore has made more appearances this year than anyone else. And he's really been great these last couple of weeks filling in, doing a little extra heavy lifting while Keith has been out.

[00:03:53] But so this first hour is going to center around a young man named Marshall Rawson and two hit pieces from so-called journalist named Christopher Mathias over at Talking Points Memo. And let me tell you how this works. And this is how it has worked for me several times. And so having been through this myself, as soon as I saw this piece, I kind of had an idea of how it might play out.

[00:04:21] When we have made national news in the past through TPC, well, I'll just give you a couple of examples. There are many, but a couple of examples. When we interviewed Hutton Gibson is one, and when we interviewed Donald Trump Jr. is two. What happens is you have these bottom-feeding online left-wing, radical left-wing activist webzines, like Talking Points Memo, that will write the story.

[00:04:51] And then they send it up the food chain to the actual establishment media. That's the formula. And that is what this reporter has done. But, of course, they never lead with any objective facts about their target. I mean, in this case, they could have said that Marshall Rawson, this candidate in Florida who won his election, they could have said, you know, to be fair, let's give you both sides. Marshall Rawson is a fifth-generation Floridian. Floridian, he's a citrus grower.

[00:05:19] He's a University of Florida law graduate. He deployed with the Florida Guard on the Texas border. He's a husband. He's a father of five. And he just beat a well-funded incumbent son by knocking on 17,500 doors across five counties in northern Florida. It takes about two hours just to drive across his district. That's what he did, according to his Facebook page and other things that are publicly accessible on the Internet. But they didn't mention any of that.

[00:05:49] Not only did they not lead with it, they didn't mention it at all. It's all about this McCarthy-esque links and ties. Now, the irony is, of course, McCarthy was right. But the liberals, you know, crowed about the McCarthyite tactics. Well, they do it in spades and in ways that McCarthy could have never even dreamed.

[00:06:10] But a few days ago, Christopher Mathias published an article under the headline, he marched with Nazis in Charlottesville. And he followed it up a couple of days later with a roll call of 28 Republican officials throughout the state of Florida that he demanded denounce the winning candidate, Mr. Rawson.

[00:06:34] And this entire case that he makes in this smear piece is, you know, a decade-old links and associations to the League of the South, which was a publicly known thing, I think, during this campaign. I think other outlets reported it even while the race was still ongoing. Rawson had addressed this in the press.

[00:06:59] He was with the League of the South to oppose the destruction of historical monuments, number one, and well, in no particular order. But that was one of the reasons to promote and defend traditional God-ordained marriage, which was still an issue back at that time, and to keep jobs for Americans. These were all very mainstream Republican positions that the League was advocating during the candidate's time.

[00:07:29] With that organization. And then they bring up his presence at the 2017 Unite the Right gathering to protest the removal of a statue of General Robert E. Lee, who was one of the greatest Americans, really one of the greatest men to ever live. And this hit also was an analysis.

[00:07:48] I mean, this guy, I can almost see him doing it, exhaustively going through every record of every donor and Googling them and trying to find things that they've said or done in their lives that he can attach to the winning candidate to try to make it all seem more radioactive. Well, that was the story. Not the platform. Not the work that was put in to make this a winning campaign. Not the voters who heard the smears and still chose him.

[00:08:15] This is the oldest trick in the system media playbook. I've been through it again in another situation with my libel lawsuit against the Detroit News some years ago, in which I was alleged to have been a leader of the Ku Klux Klan. And the judges ruled, well, he says things that members of the Klan could arguably agree with. So he is a leader in that way. So this is the kind of stuff you deal with.

[00:08:41] OK, you don't have to refute a man's record in this case, the candidate's record, Marshall Rawson's record on property taxes or overdevelopment or the Second Amendment. You just pronounce him unclean links and ties. It's the same language they use on every southern conservative who doesn't recant his grandfather's war or anyone who thinks the monument is is not a hate crime.

[00:09:10] And they treat, you know, a 10 year old photograph the way a medieval inquisitor would treat a neighbor's rumor. And here's the part they cannot stand, though. It's not working the way it used to. That that's the story for me in this hour. And it's not working the way it used to. Rawson won the primary after news agencies that already floated the League of the South Association and the Charlottesville participation.

[00:09:40] You know, he went to Virginia, presumably like most people did on that side to oppose the destruction of of historical monuments. There was a lot of that going on at that time. People forget that. But then The Washington Post ran it and other people have have run it. And it did make very big national news a few days ago. North Florida Republicans, though, looked at this farmer who had been on their porches. And then they looked at this New York reporter who had not.

[00:10:09] And they made their choice. You know, and these hysterical attacks screaming that someone is a Nazi and whose campaign literature, though, talks about Jesus Christ and overdevelopment. You know, it just it seems to be losing its sting. And it certainly did not have very much venom or pack very much punch with the people who actually live in that district.

[00:10:30] And, you know, it should come as no surprise to anyone who has read this reporter, Christopher Matthias' own book, To Catch a Fascist, which was released earlier this year. It wasn't a dispassionate history either. We will continue with that as we bring on Lou Moore. Lou Moore, of course, as you know, a great friend of this program and a regular contributor, Ron Paul's presidential campaign manager, former congressional chief of staff in D.C.

[00:10:58] You know his CV. We're going to talk to him again in about two minutes at times. Hey, friends, it's James. [00:13:07] Well, welcome back, everybody. Before I welcome back to the program my good friend and yours, Lou Moore, just a quick, quick, quick final bookend to what we were talking about in the first segment. I was letting you know about this activist, so-called journalist, who wrote the original piece that was fed up the chain and fueled this national media firestorm in recent days.

[00:13:36] He wrote a book, Christopher Mathias did, To Catch a Fascist. It was released earlier this year, but it was not some dispassionate history of the Antifa movement. It is a celebration of their methods. This is the reporter who was writing The Smear on Marshall Rawson. It celebrates the infiltration and surveillance and doxing and the destroying of political opponents by any means necessary. He, you know, now is lecturing this district in Florida about associations.

[00:14:04] He spent his entire book praising an underground network of militants who treat doxing and street confrontation as civic virtue. And he was shocked, shocked that a candidate, that this candidate, that this winning candidate was not ritually denounced by elected officials in Florida. He, I think, according to this report doing research today, had reached out to 28 elected officials in Florida.

[00:14:33] I think three got back to him and two doubled down on their support. It is, you know, this extra legal harassment just doesn't seem to be enough to end a career anymore. And Marshall Rawson's credentials, Lou, I know you were looking at his website earlier today and his grind going out there and working to win this thing. And the other thing are, you know, things that you'll find if you research this race as we have done.

[00:15:02] And the voters saw that, I think. I think the voters saw that. And it's just not enough anymore. The smear still gets written, of course. It still gets amplified by the mouthpieces in the establishment-controlled media. But in Florida's District 10, the media didn't get the last word. The voters did. And that, friends, is the real story that is not going to be printed.

[00:15:25] So with that having been said, bringing back this savant of politics, of American politics, Lou Moore, who has done this on a professional level all the way up to the very top of Washington, D.C. and one of the most influential campaigns in recent American history, Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign. Lou, you have read about this race and this win and the media attention that has followed and the early fallout from it. But what most interests you about this, being the, again, pro that you are?

[00:15:56] Well, of course, I'm fascinated by the change in our society that you've accentuated in the first segment that you did. And, you know, James, at the end of my last appearance on this show, I kind of blackpilled the audience almost into oblivion, talking about all the sins of Donald Trump. But you pointed out something in the exchange we had at that moment, very salient.

[00:16:24] The man kind of gave us all permission to notice and to speak the truth. You said it a little differently, but that's pretty much the gist of what you said. And that's certainly true. And we can talk more about Trump or whatever later in the show if you want. But this is an example of a young man who is solid. He did everything right in this campaign. I mean, just looking at his website for crying out loud. He knows why he's running.

[00:16:53] He has a message. He obviously has a strong faith. He has values. He's in touch with his district. He understands that as a Republican, even though you're supposed to suck up to the developers and take all their money, like his opponent did in the primary, in fact, you need to stand up for farmers and stand up for working people, which is exactly what he did.

[00:17:17] And then, as you pointed out, something that my old boss Jack Metcalf used to do to inoculate himself from the same kind of smears that Marshall is suffering now, he showed up at 17,500 doors. That's how much he cared about the people in his district. So, James, I mean, he's the whole package. He's the whole package.

[00:17:41] And it's just fabulous that he's also got the courage to stand up to these Marxist bullies who are weak, who are almost all physical cowards in every chance you ever have to confront any of these people, and to just, you know, stand up for his heritage, stand up for his beliefs. It's a beautiful thing. Well, Lou, I couldn't agree with you more. And, folks, we've been batting this around for a couple of weeks now,

[00:18:10] and I had sent Lou some of these articles that I saw starting to pop up. People were sending them to me. I sent them to Lou. I said, you know, maybe we should do an hour on this and, you know, go through the Facebook, go through the campaign site. Let's put a package together and let's talk about this. And, Lou, what I'm so interested and so happy, you were talking about your last appearance on the show. It wasn't that long ago. It was last Saturday. And I really appreciate you letting me draw again from the well so soon.

[00:18:36] But I really was interested in talking to you about this race from the technical and mechanical aspects of it, from, again, your perspective as a campaign guru. And, you know, when you were running Ron Paul's operation, the establishment of the press, of course, treated him like a freak show as well. But, again, you don't beat a well-funded incumbent son in a rural Florida district unless you do the work.

[00:19:05] And knocking on those doors, what did you see in the mechanics of this win that most consultants, you know, might overlook? Or most, let me rephrase that, that most political observers or just normal people wouldn't be looking at? Yeah, well, I mean, some of the things that come to mind first, James, I mean, a lot of people would be looking at. But he built a tremendous coalition around him.

[00:19:34] And so many people and so many of our people kind of overlooked the fact that all politics is about building coalitions. That doesn't mean you're selling out. That doesn't mean you're giving up your values to build a coalition. And, you know, he had the classic gun Second Amendment people, the anti-tax people, the pro-life people. He had the anti-immigration people.

[00:19:57] And, plus, he took action against illegal immigration by showing up in uniform at the border to defend his country. So, I mean, it wasn't just talk. But he built, obviously, just by the endorsements, a broad-based coalition. And that's why, like, former congressmen who he worked for, who were around him, who saw his character, who saw his potential. That's why they endorsed him, former legislators.

[00:20:24] I mean, as I said, you know, he put the whole package together. And, you know, I haven't looked at his media buys and all that getting into that level of technicality. But, you know, with social media and the fact that more and more people do not believe corporate-sponsored paid advertisements that they see pop up on their TV and now they see it pop up on their phone when they're on YouTube or whatever, they don't tend to believe it anymore.

[00:20:53] And this is why going to the doors, knocking on the doors, doing the grassroots work, you know, that's how you win today in a competitive field, in a competitive environment. I think that is the takeaway that anybody looking to get involved in politics needs to know.

[00:21:18] And that is – and it's something I wish I had known in 2002. You know, I parachuted in straight from the Buchanan campaign and just started, you know, lobbing political grenades. I mean, we ran a good campaign, but I think this candidate did it in a very different way. He worked through this existing political system. I mean, I'm looking at his bio now online. And, again, I mean, we talked a little bit about it.

[00:21:46] A graduate from law school, he's a small farmer. He was in the Florida Guard. We talked about that. But he also worked for not only Congressman Paul Brown. He got endorsements from other former congressmen like Ted Yoho, who I ran into, by the way, at the Republican National Convention in 2016. Corey State – excuse me, Secretary of State Corey Byrd.

[00:22:11] I mean, he had built trust and built relationships and did the work to do that, not in terms of just checking off of things to do, but because that's who he was. He did at once have these beliefs that Matthias, you know, certainly believes animates people right of center. But he also was involved and had put in years' worth of work.

[00:22:37] And then still, though, to go into this race, be outspent by – do you know how much a seat, ladies and gentlemen, in the Florida State Legislature pays? I think it's $20,000, $30,000, something like that. His opponent spent half a million dollars in this race to win one of those seats. He was outspent by – but once you factor in not just the direct campaign contributions, but also the PAC money and all of that.

[00:23:05] I think he was outspent by – I looked up the campaign finance reports, I think by nearly $200,000, two to one, two to one. So from a campaign manager's chair, this is what you were talking about. What does this tell you about the difference between paid media buys and a body on the porch in these rural counties? Well, I mean, you know, the paid media buy still – I didn't want to make it sound like it has no place in modern campaigning. Obviously, it does.

[00:23:33] But you can't buy your way into credibility. You can't buy your way into people liking you. You can't just show up with a face on television and a couple of slogans that pollsters gave you or your consultants gave you and win an election in these modern times. You've got to bring a bigger package to the table, and particularly in an off-year election, if we're going to get a little technical,

[00:24:01] the off-year voter is overall a sharper voter than the presidential year voter. It's diluted by low-information voters in the presidential year. And so in a primary in Florida, you know, Marshall brought the goods. He brought what people want to hear, people who are conservative. They want to see a guy that's got some common sense, small business guy, the family, the whole – I hear the music now. He brought the package, James. He brought the package to the table.

[00:24:32] And set an example for others to follow if they intend to win rather than just run to raise awareness of certain issues or whatever the residual or tangential benefits are of running. But when you don't intend to win, there is a winner here. We'll talk more about it. Stay tuned. How would you like to help this program reach more people and earn silver at the same time? [00:24:58] This hour from town hall, I'm Mary Rose. The fight over non-citizen voting just moved at the high court. Willie Nelson has the details. The Supreme Court has cleared the Trump administration to use a federal citizenship check system on voter rolls ahead of November. The SAVE database was blocked by a lower court. The justices paused that order, a temporary win for President Trump's push to stop non-citizen voting. States can use a tool to verify citizenship. The larger case is still alive.

[00:25:28] Willie Nelson, the White House. Ukrainian President Zelensky says President Trump approved Ukraine to build Patriot missiles with concrete agreements between Kyiv and Washington. Zelensky posted on X with the news days after he met with President Trump at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He said Trump made a final decision that Ukraine could receive licenses to produce the missiles.

[00:25:53] Zelensky warned nations at the UN about Russian President Vladimir Putin calling him patient zero as he spreads the infection of war across the world. Elsewhere, Zelensky said Russia has started to focus more on targeting Ukraine's data centers recently. I'm Chris Coragio. The President added he will visit Xi and China in November. And another meeting between the two leaders is also set for December at the G20 in Miami. The President of Iran says he wants to deal with the U.S. before November's midterms.

It is common for politicians, major media outlets, and non-profits to hype white on black murders aggressively.

[00:29:06] Or even claim that blacks are living in fear of white people. Lends for simply being black. Hard to believe, but that's what was done. And some people still want to do that. This is why National Conservative launched the Interracial Homicide Tracking Project. We have now documented well over 2,000 confirmed interracial homicides since January 2023. [00:29:59] I woke up this morning and had the terrible honor, I think is how I would describe it, of being asked by the family of my pastor to speak at his funeral.

[00:30:25] And I was the only one to do so other than the pastor who preached the service. And I did not want to rush from there. And I've been traveling a lot in the last month, including last weekend. And when Keith had told me that he was going to be out tonight, we were scrambling to rework hours one and three. And so I'm a little bit discombobulated tonight.

[00:30:55] So I'm trying to do this just off the top of my head and sort of recall some of the things I've read. And I really appreciate Lou Moore coming in here at the last minute and helping me do this because we had been following this campaign. A lot of people were emailing me news stories about this after it broke. And, of course, I knew that this campaign was ongoing, to be sure.

[00:31:21] But I think, Lou, again, the big thing for me in this is the media coverage and the lack of that knockout punch that it had in this case. So you had this Matthias guy who I think either he or maybe it was one of the derivative articles that spawned from his original piece called referred to Marshall Rawson himself as a Nazi.

[00:31:50] And there was just this nuclear payload in this reporting that alleged all kinds of wild things. And then you look at the people in the district upon whose porches he had stepped and the local GOP hierarchy there that he had worked in.

[00:32:17] And they're saying, you know, who are you? Who are you reporting on this guy? This isn't the guy we know. I mean, what are you talking about? And with regards to the whole defense of the Lee Monument in Virginia, okay, so he was there. I would have been there, too. I should have been there. I mean, Eddie, we know people who were there. We know a lot of people who were there. Good people. Good people. Gene Andrews. You know, they actually cited Gene Andrews as one of the radicals that had donated to Marshall Ralston's campaign.

[00:32:47] Gene Andrews, of course, we know on this program. He is a former Marine. He served in Vietnam honorably as a Marine and went on to a career as a high school history teacher. He's now the docent of the Nathan Bedford Forest home. He gave Marshall $20. And this was like one of the things that they were, you know, charging is one of these guilt by association things.

[00:33:07] And I just think, you know, people who knew him and they were looking at this, you know, these wild allegations and all of this links and ties, communist style smears. And it just didn't land this time. I mean, Lou, you know, God knows, you know, over the last several decades, that would have been a kill shot. Not anymore. What do you think is going on? I mean, what do you think happened here?

[00:33:36] I ask because I seriously want to know. Well, there's two things, James. And one might be slightly contrary to what you just said. When they know you in the district. I go back to Jack Metcalf. I worked for him for six years. He was his chief of staff. He was a congressman from western Washington state.

[00:33:56] And they were continually, because of his efforts on the Federal Reserve, because his affiliation with things like the spotlight, newspaper and whatnot, they were constantly trying to put this around his neck.

[00:34:09] But when you're in the backcountry horsemen, when you're in the gun owners of America, when you're marching in the pro-life marches, when you're standing up for the issues of the district, standing up for fishing rights and standing up for stewardship of the land. And you go down the list. I'm going back to him. People know that's not Jack. And also, he did hit 18,000 doors in several cycles. Hey, let me ask you this very quickly.

[00:34:38] Just as an interjection. Door-to-door at that volume is brutal work. What does it take? Whether it's Marshall Rawson or Congressman Jack Metcalf, who was in Washington. It takes organization. It takes organization. A lot of times it takes people to help you, particularly. You know, a lot of our people are in the more rural areas. You know, every driveway is going to be 100 yards longer, longer than that, down these even roads and everything. I mean, it's an effort.

[00:35:06] Another politician I knew in Washington State, also very hard conservative by the name of Val Stevens out there in Washington State, she always had a driver, and she would just drive from door-to-door. She didn't even try to walk. But she also would do the same thing, and she also had the same benefit. They attacked her every which way, but too many people in the district knew it was bull. And so, you know, that's the first thing.

[00:35:31] And the second thing is, James, is as far as the environment, that is a big piece. It definitely is a big piece. And that is the fact that there's just been too much go on in this country, and too many people have been noticing. And we now have years of somewhat liberation from, you know, the three national TV networks and the wire services and NPR and all that.

[00:35:58] People are getting information other places, and they know a lot of things now that they, the public know a lot of things if they want to, if they avail themselves of the opportunity that they didn't know 20 years ago. And then there's just some special chemistry going on with this rising generation. You and I have talked about it several times. And it's not just knowledge. It's also courage. It's courage.

[00:36:26] And courage is contagious. And, you know, Marshall just exudes that. I mean, I could just see it right through the website. And not backing down. Not doing, oh, I didn't mean to say that. Really? I meant to say that. No, he's authentic. Go ahead. This is something. No, no, no, Lou, you're really on to something. And I'm so glad you said what you just said because I might have forgotten to say it otherwise.

[00:36:53] And that is I was reading these articles that had come out after this original smear went up. This is how it always goes. All right. So you have these bottom feeding websites. It feeds up to the national media if they're interested, which in this case they were and for obvious reasons. This is a winning candidate. They can smear the entire GOP apparatus with these links and ties, you know, of this. And it went up to the Washington Post level and MSNBC. I think Rachel Maddow was hysterical about it.

[00:37:22] And so it went all the way up to the top. And then, you know, it starts to fade. I mean, it ebbs and flows and short shelf life. And that's the nature of these media hits. The only thing you can't control, of course, is how people who are being targeted respond to it. And number one is the candidate himself or now the representative elect himself, Marshall Rawson, and the other people in the GOP. Because they didn't just intend. I mean, they can't hurt Marshall. He already won.

[00:37:50] I mean, they can't hurt him in that way now. Now, he's already won. But they could use this as a cudgel for other Republicans in the state of Florida and even nationwide. But here's what's interesting. Here's what's interesting. You talk about courage being contagious. They asked – I read that they had asked Marshall, you know, do you regret going to Charlottesville? You know what his answer was? It's full answer. No. What can you do with that? You know, what can you do with that?

[00:38:18] And then it went all the way up. They asked sitting mayors and sitting elected officials in his district and throughout the state of Florida who had supported him, you know, do you recant your endorsement? You know, does this new – this report make you wish you hadn't done that? And, again, most people didn't respond at all. But the ones who did said, no, it doesn't move me at all. I know Marshall. And I know Marshall Rawson.

[00:38:47] I don't think – you know, Lou, I've been doing this a long time. I can't remember ever seeing anything like this where the candidate himself was so steadfast and resolute. And, yes, I mean, you can build relationships. You can build trust. But there's no guarantee when the shooting starts that you're going to be able to count on loyalty. But he got it, and he got it from people with something to lose.

[00:39:14] I mean, this is a really remarkable turn of events here in this district in Florida. No, it is. And, James, the other thing is you cannot ever undervalue authenticity. People used to ask me – I mean, you know, I work for Ron Paul. The guy gives an hour and a half speech, and a lot of it is so far off in Austrian economics and stuff like this that people can't even follow all of it. And yet they're so excited. They're on their feet every, you know, five minutes.

[00:39:44] I mean, I've never been around a political situation with so much energy, you know, directly as I was working for Dr. Paul. But it was – you could immediately sense that he was telling you the truth, as he saw it, at least. And with the Internet, with unfiltered – you know, not everything being filtered by the corporate media, people detect this. And I think this is also what helped Austin.

[00:40:12] And then these political types, a lot of them, they talked to 28 of them, and I don't know most of them, or some of them were – I think they called dissents or whatever. But anyway, you know, I don't know a lot of these people, but they know the value of authenticity, and they know the value of grassroots support. And, you know, they're a little more – I think, you know, they're a little more appreciative of it in this new culture that's developing than they would have been at one time.

[00:40:40] I mean, you know, I can't speak for why each of them did whatever they did, but you're totally right. This is a remarkable time. And the old rules are getting thrown out. Thank God. Well, thank God indeed. And God's will be done. And God sits in heaven, and he controls all things, and he controls the events of Florida District 10 as well. But you have to have people who rise to meet his will in order to receive these blessings, and maybe you've got one there.

[00:41:09] But this – one last thing on this, and then we'll switch over to your most recent episode of Hour of Decision, which is another incredible can't miss show here on the Liberty News Radio Network. It's Lou's weekly show, Hour of Decision. We'll let you know how to catch it. And we're going to circle back to that very quickly. But now, again, I'm falling back on the fact that I'm not entirely organized tonight. We were talking about the people standing with him.

[00:41:38] We were talking about the fact that the media is losing its sting. Well, I mean, it's kind of a new era. Yeah, I mean, you were saying, James, that this is a remarkable time. This is kind of new territory in some ways. Well, I'm glad you just brought it back up.

[00:41:57] I mean, it got to the point where the author of this original smear, who I'm sure thought that this was going to be – and, of course, he didn't do it to be a who, what, where, when, and why legitimate journalist. He did it to harm someone that he disagreed with, which is, of course, what activist journalism is. But he was shocked that it didn't get the response that he expected. And he even wrote a follow-up article saying, hey, I solicited all of these people to denounce him, and none of them did.

[00:42:26] And, in fact, the ones that did reply to me doubled down on their endorsement. He goes, well, what should I expect, you know, in the Republican Party of Donald Trump? This is where we're at now. And there was even other news agencies that did the ICYMI, in case you missed it. Like, please read this. Have you not read this? You haven't read all this horrible stuff, you know, these links and ties, you know, inverted McCarthyite communist sphere tactics.

[00:42:55] You didn't see that? But nobody cares. They don't care. They just don't care. And the people that, you know, building relationships and building trust, and, you know, it does have value. It does have value. And I've been the beneficiary of that a couple of times with Pat Buchanan and with my pastor and with others who had something to lose.

[00:43:16] But, you know, you can't guarantee loyalty, but you can do things to put yourself in a position to not be discarded when the shooting starts. And certainly this candidate obviously seemed to do that. So anything else on, again, the big takeaways, the technical parts of running a winning campaign, that the media smears the reactions to it? Anything else on this?

[00:43:44] And then we're going to move to your most recent episode of Our Decision, Lou. Well, actually, James, the last thing I'd like to say is Marshall, whether he likes it or not, he's kind of a proxy now. And we need to replicate all over this country. And there's a – just look at his website. I can see this, James. You know, and it is work.

[00:44:14] It's not abracadabra. I'm just going to be like this guy over here. No, it is not like that. But if you are sincere, if you are a solid individual, if you're a good moral Christian family man, you need to get in this fight. And you can build yourself up to a point where you can have some kind of electoral success. You know, it may not be in the legislature or a state legislature. But we need a lot more of him.

[00:44:43] And he's a pathbreaker in many ways. I mean, he's done a fabulous job from what I can see, James. He's done a fabulous job doing all the fundamentals of this game, of this business. If he ever does some sort of a YouTube tutorial on how to run a winning campaign, people would be wise to watch it. Because I don't think it's something you can just all of a sudden decide and determine you're going to do. And then you put your name on the ballot and you go out and do it.

[00:45:06] I mean, he apparently had obviously put in years' worth of work leading up to his run, not to mention the year-plus run itself that led to the victory. This is the long game. This is long-term planning. But you can begin to endeavor to do that today and begin to lay those cornerstones. Well, it has been an interesting thing, and it has been in the news.

[00:45:33] And I saw it, and I wanted to talk about it. So that's where we're at with this. But now, Lou, when you were on with us last week, we were talking about the political fortunes. And thank God, not for this district in Florida, but nationwide, not so good for other Republicans, especially on the higher-up levels of United States Representative and United States Senator.

[00:46:03] And so your most recent episode of Hour of Decision, if you go to LibertyNewsRadio.com, folks, LibertyNewsRadio.com, that is the network that syndicates this program, you will find a battery of all of the shows that this network carries. TPC is there. Also, you will find Lou Moore's Hour of Decision.

[00:46:22] And on your most recent episode, Lou, which was in some ways a continuation of the conversation we were having last week, you mentioned this tsunami warning for this election that's coming up. And it is coming up fast. I mean, next week it's October, and then a month you've got the election. And it just doesn't seem like people are really that tuned into it. I don't hear very much about the midterms. I mean, if it does come up, it comes up as, you know, it's going to be bad news if you're a Republican.

[00:46:51] But you're right. It's just a few weeks away. All of your elections are always more favorable to the party out of power. It's particularly true when the public is upset about the economic condition. It's even more true when there's a war overseas that is not under control. These are three reasons a big wave is starting to form against the GOP. And you take a look in this most recent episode at, well, you go back in history and you bring it all to a boil.

[00:47:19] But, yeah, I mean, Lou, I saw you were talking about diesel last week and how that goes straight to the grocery stores in terms of prices. I mean, gas here in Memphis is like $4.19 a gallon, diesel's six. I mean, in some parts of the country, gas itself is $7 a gallon. I mean, it's just the Republican Party's dead in November, I think.

[00:47:46] So what follow-ups do you have since last week's discussion? And, you know, what new information was in this can't-miss episode of Hour of Decision, which I listened to earlier today while I was driving? Well, it was a continuation. I mean, James, just straight up, every fundamental, every signal, every indication is disaster for the Republicans.

[00:48:15] I try to hold myself back because, you know, I've been in the business long enough. You never quite, you know, you never say never and, you know, you prepare for the game on Sunday or whatever in football. You don't like, you don't care that you're, you know, 10 times better than the other team. You still, you know, you give it your all, et cetera. You're a, and there's Republicans trying to do that now. But honestly, they got two things.

[00:48:42] They got way more money than the Democrats because of all the sucking up they've done to vile, corrupt corporate interests. And then they've got, well, nobody could vote for these crazy, terrible Democrats. They're all socialists. That's what they got.

[00:48:59] And if you think that's going to carry them through, then maybe there's some, you know, mild, I mean, not mild, there's some very, very slim chance that something good will happen for the GOP. But I think, really, I think it's going to be a wipeout. I really think it's just going to be a wipeout. And it's going to carry down a lot of senators, ones that people didn't think were vulnerable, a lot of seats.

[00:49:28] You know, I'm saying at least 20 seats are going to the Ds. It could be 40. Easy, easy with what we're looking at right now. And it's just because, you know, the president betrayed his base. He got us in an overseas war, which made gas really, really expensive. They're spending way too much money.

[00:49:50] They're at risk of having a failed bond auction, which just, that actually puts our entire monetary system at risk. We're already monetizing half of the deficit as we go along in this fiscal year. That's a complete disaster. That means we're just printing money, if you don't know what that means. And every signal is bad, James. Every signal is bad. You know, Trump is saying, I love flock cameras. You know, I mean, issues.

[00:50:20] He loves flock cameras and data centers. I mean, this is where we're at now. And MAGA is Mark Levin and not Tucker or. Listen, I mean, listen, again, Lou, we talked about it last week. We can. And I will say this still, though. I will absolutely say this still. And with every degree of conviction you can have, people forget. I mean, yes, the last year of Trump has been a disaster.

[00:50:50] Last year, no, a year and a half ago, we were in South Carolina together, Lou, and we were celebrating how good it was going. I mean, it just goes to show how fast the political fortunes can change. We were there with other elected officials across the world, even. And it was good times. And then that was before the first June bombing of Iran. And then now here we are. So we know where we're at. But people do forget, though, how insufferable the other side is.

[00:51:18] And when they retake power, and they're going to because of this blunder, they are going to weaponize government against us. They're going to be so bad. It's going to be so bad. And, you know, God's will be done. Man, maybe we need to have these bad times to toughen up and come to true and lasting solutions. I mean, the Trump experiment was worth the risk because what else did we have, you know, going into what was a preordained Jeb Bush versus Hillary Clinton presidential election?

[00:51:45] I was happy to have this homewrecker, you know, in there. And I believed in it all the way through the last year. But, I mean, it has played out as it's played out. But, you know, for all the people down on Trump, and I understand it, the other side is so much worse. And it's going to be bad. But maybe that's what we need. But no matter what, it's what's coming. And so we better be ready to roll with the punches. Yeah, well, with crisis, there's opportunity.

[00:52:11] And I think there's a lot of opportunity for our folks coming out of this because a lot of people know things are terribly, terribly wrong. And they are looking deeper now because, you know, one of the things that I was thinking about this show tonight is maturity and youth.

[00:52:33] And it seems like the so-called mature people, the boomers, you know, not only are they still getting too much sloth from the corporate media to forge their worldview, they also think, well, if I just go vote a couple times, everything should be perfect now. Which is ridiculous. Nobody takes power on that kind of basis. But the youth that I'm talking to, they understand this is a longer game.

[00:52:59] Every single youth activist I've talked to recently, they know very well this is a longer game. And we have to look for opportunities wherever we can find them, whether it's in a reversal or whether it's in a victory. And so, you know, I think there'll be more emboldening of the youth that are looking at the cultural, you know, Western civilizational issues that we want them to be focused on.

[00:53:27] I think, you know, there's a big plus there, but there's a huge minus, a huge minus, which you just called out. Well, this is the big takeaway, though. This is a great place to end this hour, by the way. And, Lou, I've got to give you a couple of weeks off because we've been wearing you out. But I'd love to have you back. That first Saturday in November is going to be Saturday, November 7th. If I could put that B in your bonnet. That'll be the first Saturday after the midterms.

[00:53:55] I'd love to have you back on to break down the fallout. But I don't think the next month is going to be good. But the long-term future, it does look more favorable. You look at the share of votes, what age demographic is voting for the AFD in Germany. Lou, we were talking about that last week. What age demographic was voting for James Fishback in Florida to go back to Florida politics. The youth are with us. So that means the future is on our side.

[00:54:21] It's just a matter of whether or not they're going to come of age and take over before we get swamped. But that part we don't know. But there is a lot of reason for hope. It's just not going to be found in the next couple of weeks. But in the future, there's a lot of reasons to be bullish on the West. But Lou, I love you, brother. Thank you so much. And we'll talk to you again soon. And stay tuned for the second hour. We're going to talk to some people who work for Jordan Wallace tonight. Yes, sir.
