[00:14:24] Frankly unfounded attacks on the Justice Department
[00:14:27] This request this effort to use contempt as an as a method of obtaining our sensitive law enforcement files
[00:14:35] It's just the most recent the effort to
[00:14:39] threaten to defund our investigations and the way in which there are
[00:14:44] contributions to an atmosphere that puts our agents and our prosecutors at risk these are wrong
[00:14:51] Look, the only thing I can do is continue to do the right thing. I

[00:16:01] It's a very powerful tool. It's been around for a long long time

[00:16:07] It's been long dormant. Let me just say that has been used you heard cash, but tell talk about it
[00:16:13] And that power allows the Congress to rely on its own constitutional authority to detain and imprison
[00:16:19] Contempt contemptors is what they're calling it contemptors. I guess until they comply with congressional demands
[00:16:25] So there's three different version of this
[00:16:27] Okay
[00:16:27] So let me just get I want to educate you guys to this you could demand that you you could call every one of your
[00:16:32] Congressional members and demand that they use the inherent
[00:16:36] Contempt of Congress powers
[00:16:37] So the first type of contempt power is it's a citation of criminal contempt in Congress and that statute was passed in 1857
[00:16:45] And once it and that what it stands for is this let me read verbatim for you
[00:16:48] So you just get it right once a committee rules that an act of criminal contempt has occurred the speaker of the house or Senate
[00:16:55] President refers the matter to the appropriate US Attorney's Office whose duty it shall be to bring the matter before the grand jury for its
[00:17:01] Action, however, the executive branch in prior situations has claimed
[00:17:05] It has the discretion to decide if a grand jury should be convened to hear the charges
[00:17:09] But if the case goes to the grand jury fines in jail term
[00:17:12] We already know you can't use that version of this because let's face it the Department of Justice
[00:17:16] You're gonna go from go to them to get a contempt order on Merrick Garland
[00:17:21] Never gonna happen and it's not gonna work anyway because they're weaponized right? You can't trust the Department of Justice
[00:17:26] There's no it's the Department of Injustice
[00:17:28] Second type of contempt power comes in the form of a civil lawsuit
[00:17:31] Brought by the house or Senate asking a court to enforce a subpoena
[00:17:35] The Senate is committee are authorized to bring such a lawsuit under a federal statute
[00:17:39] There's no similar statute that applies in the house
[00:17:42] But the Federal District Court in Washington DC has decided that the house can nevertheless
[00:17:46] Authorize its committee to bring a similar civil suit for enforcement of a subpoena
[00:17:51] In either case an executive branch member can contest the subpoena based on a governmental privilege or objection
[00:17:57] The assertion of which has been authorized by the executive branch of the federal government that one again not great
[00:18:03] But you're gonna like the third version of this
[00:18:06] This is the third option and this is the one that Paulina was talking about
[00:18:11] Third type of contempt power Congress's dormant inherent contempt power is rarely used in modern times
[00:18:17] Inherent contempt was the mode employed by Congress to directly enforce contempt rulings under its own constitutional authority
[00:18:25] Until criminal or civil content statutes were passed and it remained in use in the 20th century
[00:18:31] Under inherent contempt proceedings the house or Senate has its sergeant at arms
[00:18:36] or
[00:18:37] Deputy and that includes anybody on the staff of the sergeant at arms
[00:18:42] I verified that today with somebody that knows this take a person to conduct e for proceedings to be held in Congress
[00:18:48] So that basically means with these powers that the speaker of the house Mike Johnson can send the sergeant of arms or his duty
[00:18:56] That means his staff to go arrest anyone who defies a congressional subpoena now you're gonna say oh
[00:19:02] What do they happen then the US Marshals aren't gonna house him there are cells under
[00:19:08] the United States Congress
[00:19:10] our capital has cells
[00:19:13] That are built down below cash Patel's talked about him even Nancy Pelosi talked about him at the end of the day
[00:19:20] He could be incarcerated right in the basement
[00:19:23] Whether or not they would use their own staff to bring them food or otherwise
[00:19:26] I have no idea at the end of the day. This is what needs to happen to Merrick Garland George

[00:20:14] Those are subpoenas from both Chairman Jordan and Chairman Comer
[00:20:17] I want to read this to you because ultimately if in ten days the Department of Justice does not do their job and hold
[00:20:24] General responsible just like they would any other American
[00:20:28] I think that it should be our job in the House of Representatives speed and to bring an inherent contempt proceeding against the Attorney General of which
[00:20:35] I've already filed that privilege motion
[00:20:37] Over a week ago
[00:20:38] I would like to read it real quickly and saying that resolve that have been ten days after the passage of this report
[00:20:44] The Department of Justice has failed to indict attorney general Garland
[00:20:47] The speaker of the House of Representatives shall issue his warrant commanding the sergeant in arms
[00:20:52] Or his duty to take into custody the body of the said attorney general Garland
[00:20:56] Whoever found and bring him to the said attorney general Garland before the bar at the House of Representatives
[00:21:00] Then and there to provide documents materials and answers such questions
[00:21:05] pertinent to the matter under inquiry as a House of Representatives may order the speaker of the House of
[00:21:10] Representatives to propound and to keep the said attorney general Garland in custody to await further orders of the House of Representatives
[00:21:16] This is something that we reserve as an authority in order to bring back order to a house that has seemed to forgotten it
[00:21:23] So let's see well our esteemed

[00:23:33] They're following teachers. They're following American Patriots. They're following
[00:23:38] Constitutionalists and Christian nationalists and Mago all around the country. They're investigating all them

[00:52:26] He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her the complaint goes on to say he grabbed
[00:52:31] Her and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her in the surveillance video
[00:52:37] Combs can be seen grabbing Ventura in throwing her to the ground as
[00:52:42] Ventura lies on the ground combs then kicks her twice and attempts to drag her on the floor back to the hotel room
[00:52:50] Ventura is seen picking up a hotel phone
[00:52:53] Come seems to walk back to the hotel room then returns and appears to shove her in a corner
[00:52:59] Moments later he can be seen throwing an object in her direction
[00:53:03] According to Ventura's now settled lawsuit the pair began dating several years after they met in 2005
[00:53:10] They parted ways in 2019
[00:53:12] Combs attorney said the decision to settle was in no way an admission of wrongdoing
[00:53:18] Ventura declined to comment on the video
[00:53:20] But her attorney told CNN the gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior
