[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_02]: The edition of Point of View and we are certainly looking forward to a really good week of a

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_02]: number of guests that we are going to be talking with.

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk more about that in just a minute, but I thought it would get into the news real

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: quickly if you were at church yesterday, you might have had your pastor pray for what is

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_02]: happening in Israel.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I might just mention that of course last week we talked about these explosive pagers up

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_02]: there that were owned by Hezbollah.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_02]: As a matter of fact we'll be talking about some of that tomorrow with Ken Timmerman, also

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_02]: a little bit on Wednesday with Gary Frazier.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But now there are some that are beginning to wonder if indeed the targeting of thousands

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_02]: of Hezbollah pagers and walkie-talkies was a prelude to some kind of full-scale intervention

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and invasion that might take place.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: A coordinated action, if you will, between Israeli Mossad intelligence and the Israeli

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Defense Forces.

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is something we will certainly this week spend a fair amount of time talking about.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But of course if you were in church it's quite likely that there were some individuals,

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe even your own pastor, because there was out a pastor networks being suggested

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: that we pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And the fact is Israel has been in a battle really since October 7th of last year with

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Hamas which is sort of in the southwest corner of Israel.

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But now focusing some of the IDF forces towards the north, which is north towards Lebanon

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_02]: and Hezbollah.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So we'll talk more about that in just a minute.

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But as we ended the program yesterday or Friday we talked a little bit about some of those

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: issues related to funding.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you actually look at your calendar you will notice that the end of September is

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_02]: just about a week away.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And if that is the case then we do not have a budget for 2024-2025 because the calendar

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: year goes from October 1st to September 30th.

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Now there was a budget battle and of course as we pointed out on Friday the real concern

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: was the fact that there was an attempt to try to pass at least a continuing resolution,

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: not a budget, but at least a continuing resolution that included what was called the Save Act

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: which was something that actually would provide for greater voter integrity.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It might not have even been actually employed this year but nevertheless the case.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But I have posted as our first article here by Congressman Andy Biggs wondering was the

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_02]: goal here to actually have the United States Senate, if this did pass, to vote on both

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: the Save Act and continuing resolution or was it simply added by the Speaker so that

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Republicans could talk about this?

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And he says again since House Republicans did not even demand that the Senate would

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: pass or even vote on this, was this just an attempt to try to make it look like everything

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: was going to be pretty much business as usual?

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And again you have to understand that this continuing resolution is required because

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: we don't have a budget.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Now why don't we have a budget?

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Well here's one good example.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Chuck Schumer who is the head of the Senate majority in the United States Senate as a

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Democrat has not even brought one of the budget bills to the floor for a vote.

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So they will have to use what is called a continuing resolution which as I'm looking

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_02]: up would mean that it would still allow for open border policies, the perpetuation of

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: the Green New Deal, even sustained support for Planned Parenthood and all of the rest.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think at some point we need to be asking do we at least have some desire to try to rein

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_02]: in spending because as we mentioned just the other day right now the revenues coming to

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: the federal government about $4.9 trillion, the expenses are $6.9 trillion, let's just

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: round them up.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_02]: It would be like you making $50,000 a year, spending $70,000 a year and having $350,000

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: in credit card debt.

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's where we find ourselves right now.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Well all through the day we'll be talking about some of these very important issues

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_02]: but this is also Truth Team Week and I might just mention once again we have in studio

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: with me Colin Lambert who is the president of Lambert Creative Media, also the host and

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_02]: producer of Missions Today.

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And you were with us last year and I know you've been looking forward to this.

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm always looking forward to Truth Team Week and excited to be here and we are excited

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: to see what God's going to do this week.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of budgets, to provide for the work of Point of View and Kirby we've got some

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: wonderful opportunities for people to get involved, some wonderful thank you gifts for

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_04]: people as well at different levels.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_04]: One of the key things you need to know right off the bat though is the phone number and

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: that's 800-347-5151.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how you get involved right off the bat.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me just mention that some of you that are old timers and have been watching and

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: listening to Point of View, and I might say watching because I'm going to hold up some

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: things here in just a minute and we will have in studio guests, then you already know the

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_02]: action items for you and that is just to make that phone call.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'd like to know who would be the first person to call us at 800-347-5151.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course you can go to the website pointofview.net and there's a banner there that is on Truth

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Team.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But just real quickly before we take a break, let's mention that we are looking for a gift

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_02]: of any size and so some of you may want to give a one-time gift.

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: We're really hoping a lot of you will join with us at the monthly level.

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_02]: One level is $1 a day, $30 a month which means that you'll receive, for those of you watching

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: online, the Outlook magazine which I'm holding up right now.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: We also send my monthly booklets.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's the one on voting which we're going to talk about in just a minute with our guest

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Bunny Pounds.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And so that's what you will receive for $30 a month.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But then you have something else we have in addition to that if you join at the $50 a

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: month level, then I might just mention and we'll show a picture of you in just a minute

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that we not only send the Outlook magazine and the booklets but then this vacuum

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: water bottle.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think you will appreciate that as well.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I thought we might also mention that in addition to those because these are cumulative

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: as you like to point out, those of you that join at the $100 a month level receive the

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Outlook, the booklets, the bottle and everything but my latest books.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And we'll be talking about Islam and this one on understanding Islam and my newest book

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: which is literally just out and that is Discerning the Future.

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: So these are resources.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_02]: We know people don't give to get but we want to say thank you for those of you that will

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_02]: actually make that phone call.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and one kind of new item this time around, we've got a new donor welcome packet.

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_04]: If you have never given to Point of View before, we just have a couple of special things.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: You'll get one of those, five of those biblical viewpoint booklets that Kirby was talking about,

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: five of those to kind of get you started.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: You'll get a personal letter from Kirby.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: He's going to write to you and the most recent issue of Outlook.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's kind of our welcome thank you pack if you've never given before.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Again maybe time for that first time gift, 800-347-5151.

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I might just mention to you, you might go to the website because you're going to find

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: some of the articles we're referring to today.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You'll find out more about our first guest and of course we have two guests today.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But also if you click on the banner then as it says join now, you will actually see

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_02]: all the things we've talked about.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: So if maybe some of that came very quickly, what does an Outlook magazine look like?

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: What do the booklets look like?

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_02]: What does the actual Yazzie 25-ounce vacuum water bottle looks like?

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_02]: What do the books look like?

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Those are all resources for you as well.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to take a break and when we come back we're going to talk with our good

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_02]: friend Bunny Pounds.

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_02]: We're in the midst of an election.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_02]: She has been working through of course her organization Christians Engaged to get you

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: engaged not only in this election but to be engaged year in and year out for many of the

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_02]: issues that are of great concern to the listeners point of view.

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So again as we go to the break, how about a phone call?

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: 1-800-347-5151.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course the website pointofview.net.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back right after this.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: This is Viewpoints with Kirby Anderson.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Dr. Casey Luskin of the Discovery Institute was in my radio studio recently to talk about

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_02]: evolution's failed predictions.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I was able to find an article he wrote in the past about design versus descent, a context

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_02]: of predictions which you might want to read to get a fuller explanation.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_02]: He begins with a quote from the famous philosopher of science Karl Popper who wrote that all

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_02]: scientific theories must be falsifiable.

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Certainly a scientific theory that is taught in the public school should have empirical

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: evidence and thus be falsifiable.

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Casey Luskin discussed four lines of evidence.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Here are two of them.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: One line of evidence is biochemical complexity.

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: The prediction of descent would be that there would be few machine-like biologically complex

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: structures in the cell.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_02]: A prediction from design would be that we would find machine-like irreducibly complex

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: structures that cannot be easily explained by a gradual evolutionary process.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: He described such irreducibly complex structures and then argued that the best theory to explain

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_02]: the data is design.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Another line of evidence is biochemical functionality.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The prediction of descent would be that the genetic code in living creatures would contain

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: a significant amount of genetic baggage.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: This would be junk DNA that is left over from failed genetic adaptations.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_02]: The prediction of design would be that the genetic code is not full of functionalist

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_02]: junk DNA.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_02]: As we have increased our knowledge of genetics, we have discovered that the so-called junk

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: DNA has an important function within the cell.

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He argues that this functioning DNA would be expected or explained under a design paradigm.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You know if we look at the predictions and the scientific data, we discover that design

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: is a better explaining theory than descent.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Kirby Anderson and that's my point of view.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_05]: For a free booklet on a biblical view on big data, go to viewpoints.info.com.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_05]: That's viewpoints.info.com.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Point of View, finding clarity in the chaos.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: My name is Vicki Garza.

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been listening to Point of View Radio since 1985 and this is my story.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You really don't realize until later in life when you have the benefit of hindsight how

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_00]: the Lord used certain markers in your life to bring you to a new level.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Point of View Radio was absolutely one of those markers in my life.

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_00]: At the end of 1985 for the first time, I became a listener of Christian Radio.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I happened to come across the show Point of View with Marlon Maddox and all I could say

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_00]: is it changed my life.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord used this show in such a powerful way that to this day it's still reaping benefits

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_00]: in my life.

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're a listener, I encourage you to support this ministry.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Not only by listening, by telling others and also by giving and sowing into this ministry.

[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I heartily recommend Point of View Radio.

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Finding clarity in the chaos.

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Point of View.

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Vicki Garza, and again a dynamic individual who has developed such a campus ministry and

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: all sorts of various outreach.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Colin Lambert with me and I think again just an illustration that there are people that

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_02]: in the past have been listening to Point of View.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We're listening to Point of View because of donors in the past who gave to the ministry

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and as we begin to think about what is going to happen in the future, your gift will help

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: reach others of that kind of ilk as well.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah Kirby, I think one of the great things about Point of View and programs like it is

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_04]: that as people interact with it, not only does it benefit you and your own family, but

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you can hear the impact that it has in other people's lives.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So as you give your gift for Truth Team Week, you will know that it's going to not only

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: impact you and your family, your community, but people you'll never even meet probably

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_04]: this side of glory.

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So I want to encourage you to be one of those first ones to call to get the week started

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: the right way.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Talking about dynamic women, we have Bunny Pounds in studio here.

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: She is the founder and president of Christians Engaged, a political consultant for about

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: 16 years.

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I've of course known her in all sorts of different venues in the past.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_02]: A graduate of the Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist University, but began Christians

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Engaged.

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_02]: By the way, if you get our latest booklet on the importance of voting, right in the

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: middle here we talk about Christians Engaged because they encourage people to pray, to

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: vote, and to engage.

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And it is always exciting to find out how you're doing.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And I guess you can give us first of all, Bunny, the number of Christians you have involved

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: now in your voter mobilization system.

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Kirby, I think by Friday we will hit close to a half a million Christians.

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_01]: We started out the year, we've been building this ministry for four and a half years throughout

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Texas.

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And then in July we merged with Family Policy Alliance that has 41 state family policy organizations.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And we're all pushing together as a movement to mobilize a million Christians before the

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_01]: presidential election.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think we're going to get there, Kirby.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I actually believe that we're going to mobilize a million Christians.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_01]: We're getting everybody pushing together.

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_01]: We're doing a lot of radio, TV, things like this, media, strategic partnerships.

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_01]: We've got over 100 national ministries and local churches now partnering with us.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And we're just super excited to see Christians make a commitment to pray, vote, and engage

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_01]: ongoing, not just for this election but for every election in the future.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, pray for the nation.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Number two, to vote and to commit to vote in every election, local, state, and national.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And you certainly are well aware of how important some of those local elections are.

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And then to engage in some way or another.

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's another aspect of your ministry because as the election is over in November,

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope we don't go into halftime like we did last time or overtime or something of that

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_02]: nature.

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But then one of the things I appreciate so much, Bunny, about you and your other colleagues

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_02]: is you have a whole educational system in which people can learn about a variety of

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: different issues and have access to those videos and the teaching.

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's something that we need to do as well because this area of education is necessary.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: When you talk to some Christians and they say, I'm going to vote for this candidate, and

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_02]: you're going, have you ever told your thought about what they are actually proposing and

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: what they actually believe and what their campaign literature is like?

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_02]: So you're really all about education even after the election, aren't you?

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_01]: We are.

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_01]: We're all about civics and Bible.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Kirby, as you know, discipleship is really the issue in the country.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_01]: We're having a conference this coming weekend in Dallas, Fort Worth, and we'd love to invite

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: everybody to it.

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_01]: The Christians Engage Conference.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It starts Friday night and Saturday.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be streaming with that around the country too.

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_01]: But my message on Friday night is going to be the root of the problem.

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_01]: We're trying to inspire Christians to pray, vote, and engage, get into our get out the

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: vote system for every election, get into curriculum, teach others about how to engage.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_01]: But we're wondering, those of us that talk about this all the time, what is the real

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_01]: problem?

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Why aren't people getting engaged?

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think really after a lot of prayer and seeking the Lord, Kirby, it comes down to

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_01]: discipleship.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_01]: We are not being discipled in this nation, and we're not being disciple makers.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's time for all of us to really start counting the cost of our walk with the Lord,

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_01]: spend time in His Word, the basic simple thing of walking with Jesus.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But then to be those people that are disciple makers.

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that movie The Forge?

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh sure, very much.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's what it's all about, discipleship.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I just saw it last night and I was bawling my eyes out because this is the message of

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_01]: the hour for the American church.

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the Kenrick brothers.

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me just mention real quickly, Colin, that we not only have Buddy Pounds mentioned in

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the booklet, she's also got an article in the Outlook magazine here.

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's one of the benefits of people supporting this ministry.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Anytime you give one of those monthly gifts, that Outlook magazine is going to be provided

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_04]: to you.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course we've got the Biblical View booklets that are going to be available and at different

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_04]: levels.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_04]: We've got the water bottle at the $50 a month or more level, and of course some of Kirby's

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_04]: books.

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But one of the things I love about Point of View, two things actually, the partnerships

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_04]: like you're seeing here, because Bunny has an article in this Outlook that just came

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: out and is also mentioned in one of the Biblical View workbooks.

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: But also just the ongoing information that you can get as, Bunny, you were talking about

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_04]: being discipled, understanding what the Bible says.

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: In fact, Kirby, in your new book, I was reading part of it last night, Discerning the Future.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: One of the things I love is you look at each one of the topics and then you come back at

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_04]: the end of the chapter with all the Biblical points of view, if you will, on that topic.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's part of the education process, part of that discipleship.

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not just let's look at the topic, it's let's look at the topic through the lens of

[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Scripture.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And so both of your organizations are doing that kind of work and as you call today and

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: give your gift, you can help us continue to provide that kind of education.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I just mentioned your article here is The Impact of Consistent Christian Voting.

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And you ask this question, what if a million Christians who were inconsistent in their

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: voting participated this year?

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And for anybody that has a doubt about the importance of the Christian vote, my commentary

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: on Friday was about the number of close elections.

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And even last year, which was an off-year election, 2023, there were 26 elections that

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: ended in a tie and another seven that were decided by one vote.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: If you look over the last couple of years, there have been 625 elections that have ended

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_02]: in tie and 162 that were decided by one vote in the last 22 years.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So if Christians voted consistently, I think we'd have a difference in this country.

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_01]: We'd have a different country.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I love to tell the story of the man in Washington State that lost his city

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_01]: council race by one vote last year because he forgot to vote for himself.

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_01]: He didn't vote for himself.

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, we've got multiple problems.

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_01]: But I know, Kirby, you've probably seen the latest report at George Barna's latest

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_01]: report out of Arizona Christian University that one third of evangelicals are not participating

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_01]: in elections at all.

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, folks, that's millions of people.

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And we're talking about a presidential election this year.

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It's critical that we realize Jesus is not on the ballot.

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_01]: We've got to pick between imperfect people, but we have to vote values.

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: We have to vote biblical values as much as we possibly can.

[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_01]: But then the power, Kirby, if we could get people that vote in a presidential election

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_01]: to then vote next year in their local elections, their proposition amendment elections, you

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_01]: know, primaries, runoffs.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I lost a runoff ballot for Congress.

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, when you have a 35 percent drop from a primary to a runoff, we're not even

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_01]: getting our people across the finish line.

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, millions of Christians voting in every election is my dream because I believe

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: that we can change the country and put in righteous leaders that would love our neighbors

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_01]: well.

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk more about Christians Engage.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You can go to the website, find out about the conference, and we'll get into it in

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: more detail in just a minute.

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But Colin, again, if somebody would like to support this endeavor, how can they do so?

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just call this number 800-347-5151.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_04]: We would love to hear from you today.

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_04]: You can really help us out and help this effort to get people engaged with their communities,

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_04]: with God's word, and the combination of those two.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's Truth Team Week, and we would love for you to be a part.

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You can truly make a difference, but you have to call.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Please take the time to find out a little bit more as you go to the website.

[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_02]: First of all, you will see the banner which allows you to give.

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Also click on the picture of Bunny Pounds.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You'll find out about Christians Engaged and the conference if you'd like to attend

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: or watch it online.

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But we need those calls right now.

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: 1-800-347-5151.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, you can go to the website, pointofview.net.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll be right back.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_05]: This is perhaps the most unprecedented election season America has ever seen.

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_05]: The current political landscape is confusing, and let's be honest, it's chaotic.

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Americans need the tools to see truth clearly amid all the chaos, and that is why right

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_05]: now is the perfect time to join Point of View's Truth Team.

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_05]: By joining the Truth Team, you will give Americans information they can trust about the election,

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_05]: the candidates, the issues, and you'll give them the resources to act.

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_05]: People know that the nation is in trouble, and your action today will help them see the

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_05]: solutions clearly and make a difference.

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_05]: This week, we need to raise $150,000 to equip Americans to think clearly amid the chaos

[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_05]: of the election and beyond.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Help us reach this goal by joining the Truth Team today.

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Join at pointofview.net or call 1-800-347-5151.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_05]: That's pointofview.net and 1-800-347-5151.

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Point of View will continue after this.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_05]: You are listening to Point of View.

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_05]: The opinions expressed on Point of View do not necessarily reflect the views of the management

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_05]: or staff of this station.

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_05]: And now, here again is Kirby Anderson.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Back once again, it is Truth Team Week, and all through the week you're going to be able

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: to hear from very gifted individuals talking about different topics.

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Right now, of course, we're talking about the election, and if you would like to know

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_02]: more about Christians Engage, you can go to christiansengage.org.

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, we have a link there.

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: There is a conference that is something we're going to talk about in just a minute.

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And most importantly, I thought we would mention, as we have almost every time Bonnie's been

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: on the program here, Jesus and Politics.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: That is in its third printing, I understand?

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my book's going well, Kirby.

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Going very well.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: But there's probably a lot of listeners right now that have not had a chance to read your book.

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's got a foreword by James Robison, an afterword by Michelle Bachman, good friends

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: of this ministry, and the rest.

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And as a matter of fact, later in the week you'll hear comments from both of those individuals

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: encouraging you to support Point of View.

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But one that you're going to hear in just a few minutes is from Lathan Watts, which connects

[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_02]: back to you, because you actually applied to have a 501c3 organization with the IRS,

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and you were turned down.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But then if I remember right, you talked to Lathan Watts, and he said,

[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_02]: wait a minute, we're going to deal with that.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Tell the rest of the story.

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Kirby, we were 18 months into this ministry.

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_01]: We had applied for our tax-exempt status when we started, and I got a letter in the mail

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_01]: from the IRS saying, we're denying you your tax-exempt status because Bible teachings are

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_01]: typically affiliated with the Republican Party and candidates, quote and end quote.

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_01]: They went on to attack our on-ramp to civic engagement that we're teaching biblical worldview

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_01]: and issues from a biblical perspective, like you guys do so well here at Point of View.

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And they said, because you're teaching on the sanctity of human life, biblical justice,

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_01]: debt and taxation, Israel, these things are inherently Republican, therefore you're not

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_01]: nonpartisan.

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is real, right?

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, number one, they were stupid to send that to a person that was a former

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_01]: congressional candidate, former political consultant that knew everybody.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Plus I had friends in high places at First Liberty Institute.

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So I walked this letter.

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I was actually meeting with Lathan Watts.

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_01]: He was going on the road with us for part of our seminar to teach on separation of church

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_01]: and state and the Johnson Amendment and, you know, all these myths that people believe.

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_01]: And he goes, Bunny, this letter.

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And he took it all the way up to Kirby and I mean to Kelly Shackelford.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And they took our case pro bono and we beat back the IRS in 21 days.

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm watching you shake your head because isn't that just unbelievable?

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That if you hold to biblical views, then that's partisan politics.

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It's crazy that they would put it in print.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_04]: This one's crazy.

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It is nuts.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it's a chapter in my book called The Boldness of Joan of Arc because we had

[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_01]: to step out for every church and ministry in the country.

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_01]: A fight that we never thought about.

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And Kirby, a lot of your listeners, right, they're educating themselves.

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_01]: They're listening to Point of View Radio because sometimes they don't know why, but they're

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_01]: doing it because the Lord is leading them to really dive into the scriptures on this.

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes you don't know until you have a moment of battle where you're being confronted

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_01]: and you better know the truth.

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Daniel stood in Babylon.

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he didn't agree with every policy in Babylon, but he stood there with the government

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_01]: officials and he tried to weigh in.

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_01]: He tried to speak the truth in love.

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And there came a moment where he had to decide, am I going to obey Nebuchadnezzar or am I

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_01]: going to obey God?

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And he chose to pray three times a day and go through the suffering and persecution.

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_01]: So I just encourage all your listeners, you know, ministries such as ours that are teaching

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_01]: the word of God are critical for this moment in our American history.

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I just want to mention both of these organizations.

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, the foundation is God's word.

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what these organizations are built on.

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And that discipleship part that Bunny was talking about, so important.

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's the kind of lessons you're learning every day here on Point of View.

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I was just going through the website again this week, looking at what was on there.

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a button you can click called Election Central on Point of View's website, and it's

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_04]: got articles on things that you've just heard about in the news.

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Again, what does the Bible say about it?

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Which is what we as followers of Christ should be most concerned about.

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_04]: What does the Bible say about that thing?

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So you've got Election Central.

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You've got the opportunity to see the articles, Kirby's commentaries that come out.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So many tools.

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_04]: These monthly booklets, the monthly magazine which you can receive as well as you give your gift.

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_04]: All of those are meant to help educate and encourage you and inspire you to be engaged with your faith

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: and with your community as well.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You can make a difference.

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_04]: You can help others make a difference as well by keeping this ministry going,

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151, 800-347-5151.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: We'd love to hear from you today.

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's real quickly talk about your conference because people can get tickets or at least find out about it.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course you have all sorts of people we've had on this program.

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Coach Joe Kennedy and his wife Denise are there.

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Vicki Hochseler, I remember one time we were out traveling around, and as she was first running for office,

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_02]: we were doing a radio event and had her come and speak.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course you'll be there.

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Tim Barton's been on the program with us.

[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of a who's who, but if people would like to know more, it's this weekend, September 27th and 28th.

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_02]: What else do we need to know?

[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_01]: We're doing a praise service Friday night, Saturday mornings on voting and engagement Saturday afternoon.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be streaming it live around the country through Christians Engaged in Family Policy Alliance, Kirby.

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So we're excited about the conference.

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, if you guys are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area or Texas or Oklahoma or Arkansas, just come on down.

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a – we worship, we pray, we minister to people.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_01]: It's unlike any conference that you've probably seen before, having government officials and ministry leaders

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_01]: across denominational lines come together for the purpose of inspiring the church to get active and get off the sidelines.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_01]: That's time. It's time.

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, if a million Christians who were inconsistent in their voting decided to actually get involved,

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: what a difference that would make, and that's why we're excited about this whole voter mobilization system.

[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But just before I let you go, let's talk about the fact that you've been listening to Point of View for some time.

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You heard Vicki Garza hearing about that.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think back even when you were a student at Christ for the Nations, weren't you listening to Point of View?

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I was actually listening to Point of View as a high school student, Kirby.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I heard of that.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I was one of those – I had to grade papers for my teacher, and he had the radio on all the time.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And I started listening to Marlon Maddox and Point of View.

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think this radio show really shaped the beginning ideas that I had about Scripture.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I came from a very apolitical denomination.

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_01]: My dad was a pastor growing up, but we never talked about voting or they never had a yard sign in their yard.

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_01]: We never really talked about the issues in our culture.

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It was more basic Bible stories, et cetera.

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_01]: People don't realize the critical nature of people actually teaching the Word of God based on what's happening on the culture.

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_01]: So many pastors, Kirby, as you know, were preaching the purpose-driven life and so many other things.

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Good stuff.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_01]: But for young people specifically, Gen Z, their church is becoming irrelevant because we're not teaching on what issues that they're dealing with every day.

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I want to encourage our pastors and ministry leaders out there that are listening to us.

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Take Kirby's stuff.

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Take the stuff that you're learning from Point of View and use it in your congregations.

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_01]: But this is much needed, and even more so now, 30 years later, Kirby, or 40 years later from when I started listening.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: We won't mention timeframes.

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Thirty-something years.

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It certainly was.

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But again, great material.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Christians Engaged.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And even after the election, get those videos.

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I've participated in one.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I've watched many of the others.

[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And again, that's what it's all about, Colin, why we encourage people to listen to Point of View, get involved with these various ministries, and that's why we partner with them as well.

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I think one of the things that I think about as I think about Bunny and others that we'll be hearing from this week, I look at this kind of as one of these ponds.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, you throw a rock into the pond and you see the ripple effect.

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Many of you through the years have supported, prayed for the work of Point of View, and Bunny is one of those ripples.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And the others that we've talked about are ripples.

[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_04]: That is going to continue.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, you talk about investing in something and the importance of that.

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Very rarely do you hear about an investment where you are guaranteed a result.

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_04]: There's always the prospectus that says, well, you know, there's a chance you can make this much.

[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a guaranteed investment.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_04]: As you invest in the work of Point of View, people's lives are going to be changed, their perspectives are going to be changed.

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And here's this young lady who is close to reaching half a million, maybe by the election, a million Christians with this foundational teaching.

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And much of that could be attributed way back to some of what she heard with Point of View.

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, talk about a ripple.

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_04]: You can make that ripple with every gift you give.

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_04]: How do you do it?

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It's simple.

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_04]: A one-time gift, a monthly gift.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We need to hear from you.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's keep this ministry going strong.

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And Bunny, I always enjoy seeing you at so many different conferences and I wave at you.

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Usually there's a crowd of people I can never even come up and say hi to her.

[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Whatever.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It is so exciting.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Kirby, you're the one with the crowd of people.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's been fun to watch her grow and develop.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And we're praying for a million.

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that is something we should believe God for.

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So thanks for being here.

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_02]: When we take a break, you who have been waiting, I know that what happens, Colin, is nobody calls because she's too interesting.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But now you'll have a chance to give us a call.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll come back and do some wrap-up.

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: We do have a guest next hour.

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about that as well.

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: But don't forget that number is 1-800-347-5151.

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_02]: 1-800-347-5151.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, the website is PointofView.net.

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Click on that banner and we'll talk more about what you can do right after these important messages.

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Point of View, finding clarity in the chaos.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Ministries like ours depend on ministries like this one.

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_03]: We can win cases, and we do, at all levels of courts, including the Supreme Court, every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_03]: But if people don't understand those rights and don't put them into practice, then our wins will not mean that much years from now.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And this is a way to have a conversation about them where people can learn more about them.

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And as I've said many times, you don't have to be a lawyer or a constitutional scholar, but you do need to know enough to know when your rights are being violated and when to come find us for help.

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And Point of View is invaluable in helping get that message out.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Finding clarity in the chaos.

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Point of View.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Good friend, Latham Watts, who actually was talking about this when he was on the program last week, and I wanted to pull that real quickly because, first of all, here's an individual that has a background in history, then a law degree.

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He's actually been at First Liberty.

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Now he's the vice president of Alliance Defending Freedom.

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But again, he said the same thing when he was at First Liberty that he says now when he's with ADF.

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And that is, you know, if we have these wins but nobody talks about them, then people don't know they have these rights.

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And one of the frustrations of these various religious liberty groups is that, oh, it's real easy to get on Fox News and sometimes even MSNBC and CNN and ABC, NBC, CBS, when they're talking about the case.

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But they almost never get brought on, even in Fox News, after they win the case, occasionally, but not so often.

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's something we do.

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We tell you the rest of the story.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And that, I think, is really important.

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And, of course, as we shared just a minute ago, Bunny Pounds happened to be meeting with Latham Watts back when he was at First Liberty in which they said, wait a minute, wait a minute, we can go back to the IRS and show them the error of their ways.

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, the reason we cover these topics is so that someday you may be in a situation where you or your children or your grandchildren are told they can't do something.

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_02]: You're denied something.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe woke policies have actually forced you out of the workplace or whatever it might be.

[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_02]: We want you to know what your rights are.

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's just one more benefit, I think, Colin, of what we produce here at Point of View.

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_04]: The ability to communicate with you about those important topics is critical, day in and day out.

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's something you get.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's fresh every day.

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That's another one of the things I love about Point of View.

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_04]: The booklets are fresh.

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_04]: The commentaries are fresh.

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: The articles that are posted are fresh.

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And you have an opportunity every day to educate yourself, your family, your church body on what's going on in the culture and, again, what the Bible says about it.

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_04]: We were just talking just a moment ago off the air about the fact that many churches are never going to talk about some of these topics from the pulpit, nor should they necessarily discuss taxation from the pulpit or whatever the topic might be.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But you're going to find some biblical foundation to the conversation through Point of View.

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_04]: One of the things we haven't mentioned, which I think we need to mention at least for the week to get people set on where we are, we have a goal this week of $150,000.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a big goal, but this is what helps keep Point of View moving forward and growing and expanding and providing all of these resources you were talking about.

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So five days, $150,000.

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: We're already halfway through almost today's broadcast.

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And so we need to hear from you.

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We've got some very convenient giving levels as well.

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_04]: One-time gifts, let me just say, we've taken the lid off the size of the one-time gift.

[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: So however small or however large you want to give a gift, there's no limits on that.

[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And then, of course, monthly giving, so helpful to a ministry like Point of View.

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You say, why is it important?

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Two main reasons, I think.

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Number one, giving monthly to a ministry helps them know each month what is coming in so that they can plan for the year.

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_04]: This is like our salary.

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_04]: We know what's coming in.

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_04]: We know how to plan.

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Secondly, I think for you often as a giver, as a donor, you're able to give more.

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_04]: My wife and I have often given monthly to different charities or organizations because we're able to give a larger gift because we don't have to give it all at one time.

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_04]: So maybe you'd like to give that dollar a day level, $30 a month.

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to provide for you those monthly biblical worldview booklets, and that will come along with the Outlook magazine.

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_04]: That's coming your way.

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_04]: At the $50 level, we've got one of these snazzy, yazzy Point of View double-walled insulated bottles for you, travel bottles.

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And they are sturdy, and they hold 25 ounces.

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They're really nice.

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And then, of course, at the $100 level, you're going to get all of that plus a couple of books from Kirby, which are pretty new.

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_04]: One is brand new.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_04]: One is almost brand new, talking about Islam and terrorism.

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Still, this is going on today.

[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look what's going on in the Middle East.

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You need this as a resource.

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Discerning the Future, another book I think that you'll love.

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to have Kirby sign these for you as well.

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's a treat for those of you who could give at the $100 level.

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So whatever level you can give at, the key is this, participate.

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Participate.

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It's about everybody doing something.

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_04]: If you benefit from this program, if your family benefits, if you hear a story of someone like Bunny and you're thinking,

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_04]: wow, what an impact Point of View has had on her life, don't put it off.

[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't waste any time.

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Get to the phone and call 800-347-5151.

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I might just mention too, the booklet.

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_02]: This book is actually a collection of the booklets that we send out.

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you're just joining us now and you say, oh, I'd like to see some of the booklets in the past, these all have to do with the future.

[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And back to the idea of the pastor.

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I know pastors are not going to be addressing digital surveillance, artificial intelligence.

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_02]: They might talk about the media, social media, something like that.

[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Probably aren't going to be talking about transhumanism.

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Recognize that.

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But when I handed one of these to a pastor the other day when I was in Illinois, he turned to that first chapter and says, oh, you know,

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I've heard people talking about this and maybe there's a place where even when we're preaching through some messages,

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I could at least acknowledge the fact that it's going on or point people to some other resources.

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is something where if indeed you want to join at the $100 a month level, I will autograph them to whoever.

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So you might say, well, I sort of already get your booklets and so I probably have read those.

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And so as a result, maybe I could autograph it to your pastor.

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And so there's another opportunity there as well.

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, we'll be in just a few minutes coming back after the break and talking about some of those issues.

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But you've lived in Chicago and here latest issue, Chicago gangbangers rage against newly arrived Venezuelan migrants as they've moved into the city.

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're now claiming that the city is going to go up in flames.

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_02]: So one of the other things we'll be talking about this week and a very important relevant issue is what is happening in places like Denver,

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Colorado or Aurora, Colorado, Chicago, Illinois, New York or Springfield, Ohio.

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Matter of fact, we'll be talking a little bit about some of that in the next hour.

[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's just a real understanding and a realization that we as Christians need to be able to think biblically about every area of life.

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And we cover quite a bit in terms of the wide expanse of material, but hopefully with some depth as well.

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And let me also mention this.

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't said it, but it's worth repeating as well.

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Listener supported point of view is listener supported.

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_04]: There's not government grants coming to point of view.

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It's listener supported.

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's so important that you be a part.

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I just saw a gift for $300 come in.

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for that gift.

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Whoever called.

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I know that you love point of view.

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_04]: It's obvious from you giving that gift.

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Listener supported point of view.

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_04]: $30 a month, $50 a month, $100 a month or maybe one of those one-time gifts like that gift of $300.

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_04]: We'd love to hear from you.

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_04]: 800-347-5151.

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see if we can get a few of you maybe call in right now to join at the $50 a month level.

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, I'm holding up the Yazy double walled 25 ounce water bottle.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And again, I've never seen anything like that.

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's one of those opportunities.

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, we have levels at $30, $50 and $100.

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But again, we'll let you decide.

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you want to give a one-time gift.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: We certainly would encourage you to make that phone call right now.

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: 1-800-347-5151.

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: 1-800-347-5151.

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll take a break, come back with more right after these important messages.

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_05]: This is perhaps the most unprecedented election season America has ever seen.

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_05]: The current political landscape is confusing and let's be honest, it's chaotic.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Americans need the tools to see truth clearly amid all the chaos.

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And that is why right now is the perfect time to join Point of View's Truth Team.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_05]: By joining the Truth Team, you will give Americans information they can trust about the election,

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_05]: the candidates, the issues, and you'll give them the resources to act.

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_05]: People know that the nation is in trouble.

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_05]: And your action today will help them see the solutions clearly and make a difference.

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_05]: This week, we need to raise $150,000 to equip Americans to think clearly amid the chaos of the election and beyond.

[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Help us reach this goal by joining the Truth Team today.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Join at pointofview.net or call 1-800-347-5151.

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_05]: That's pointofview.net and 1-800-347-5151.

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Point of View will continue after this.
