[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Chris earlier in the week I was with our good friends at WPEO in Piora back here in Dallas now

[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Looking forward to this last half hour and hour of time where we'll spend some time looking at some of these issues

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And then tomorrow of course our weekend edition will have penetrating our doctor, Merrill Matthews

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: But let's at least get to a couple of the very important stories in one

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I know you've been waiting with they did breath to find out whether or not the federal open market committee would actually

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Reduce interest rates and you may have because it actually reduced them by 50 basis points, which was pretty aggressive

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And in some respects maybe you're not one of those people that looks at the financial issues but you know banks were waiting

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Investors are waiting business waiting, you know even home buyers waiting saying well as the interest rate going to go down

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think certainly what we have is that Jerome Pal, the chairman actually said that the Fed is merely recalibrating

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Monetary policy as the economy begins to recover from the very record high inflation record high at least in the last few decades

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Actually in some respects they would say their inflation was higher in the 1970s

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you again use the CPI or consumer price index that was used back then

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I think we were certainly comparable to that, but I won't get into that arcane discussion

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But it is important and so again as inflation gets back to the original target of 2%

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And I do want to maybe talk about that later

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We will see that that might indicate that there would be further cuts in the future

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought for just a minute, I might say a little bit more about the Fed to reserve before we get on to some other stories

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Because there is maybe a need to educate everyone in the listening audience about the Fed to reserve

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_00]: We've done this in the past but that's been years ago and we did interviews on the book for example

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: The creature from Jekyll Island we've had people on this program that sometimes have talked about the Fed to reserve

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Saying well first of all the Federal Reserve is not federal. It's not a Federal agency

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Number two, it has questionable reserves and its goal of trying to maintain 2% annual rate of inflation and keep unemployment low

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Hasn't worked so well because they have been engaged in what could be called monetary policy

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And you have of course the possibility that indeed if you have spending out of control

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_00]: As evidenced by the fact and we'll talk about this in just a minute, probably get into it more tomorrow

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: In which we are going to try at least in the House of Representatives past a continuing resolution to fund the government

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Because in case you are not aware at the end of this month, we run out because again you're supposed to have a budget for next year

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_00]: The House has produced budgets and not one of the budgets for any of the appropriations of come to the floor in the United States Senate

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So again it's amazing how when we always come up to debt ceiling crisis or a continuing resolution

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Republicans always blamed and yet we're talking about what's happening or not happening in the United States Senate

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Which is run by Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, but will leave that for a conversation perhaps tomorrow

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think it is helpful to understand that indeed if you're going to have out of control spending

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And we do have that, I think that's fair to say

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Then you're going to have to crank up the money printers once again

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And so Jerome Paul Powell while back said we have the ability to create money digitally

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And we do that by buying treasury bonds or bills or other government guaranteed securities

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And that ultimately increases the money supply

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You're smart enough to know that if you increase the money supply

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You have more money chasing the same number of goods that becomes what?

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: That's inflation and that didn't use to exist

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean there was a time when we were on a gold standard

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: There was a time in which we tried to at least keep spending and

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And taxation at least in some kind of comparable way

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But that has been abandoned really since the 1930s when we essentially went off the gold standard

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And effectively by 1971 when Richard Nixon took us off a gold standard

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Because of the tremendous amount of spending on both guns and butter

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_00]: During first candidate but mostly during LBJ's tenure as president

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And so today we really don't have a system

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Which actually provides any kind of check and balance on the government

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And so the Federal Reserve actually makes decisions about the interest rates and a variety of other topics

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And because you have spending which is certainly outpacing taxation

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: In significant ways we are going to be once again in a situation very soon where

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to get other countries to buy our T-bills or treasuries and all of that

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to instead have to have the Federal Reserve essentially buy them by creating more money

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And more money is going to mean the same problem that we've been dealing with for many years

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Starting first with the decision by Donald Trump and his administration

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: To send money to everybody during the pandemic

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the decisions that came one after another under the Biden administration

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_00]: To do the same thing

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And so this decision to actually cut back on the interest rate

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Probably will be helpful in part because it will lower just a little bit

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: The amount of interest we have to pay on the 35 trillion dollars of national debt

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time I think it signals that you're going to see

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Of rather significant expansion in all sorts of assets

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And as a result probably even more concerns about the future

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Unless you think there might be some limit on how much money the Federal Reserve can actually print

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And again when I say print I put that in quotes because they just created digitally

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I come back to Neil Cash Carrey

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: You can find this quote I've seen it many times in which he says there's an infinite amount of cash at the Federal Reserve

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And we will do whatever we need to do to make sure that there's enough cash in the banking system

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So one of the great concerns is that if you indeed elect a President and a Congress that wants to spend even more than their spending right now

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And that seems quite likely look at the possibility of the kind of spending proposals

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Especially that Kamal Harris, but even Donald Trump

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Especially Kamal Harris have put down you can see that the only way you can pay for it is by printing money

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: The question that I would wish at least one of the people that ask in the debate is

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Mrs. Vice President, you are talking about wanting to give $25,000 to a first-time home buyer

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: We aren't bringing enough money in taxes right now to afford that

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Are you then saying that we'll just have to print $25,000 per home buyer

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: To actually do that and what will that do the economy?

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Those questions never get asked because nobody really wants to ask the questions about the Federal Reserve

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Or about the impact that some of that is having in our ability to pay for food, clothing, shelter, transportation

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And so that's where we find yourselves

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So this rather in some ways in significant decision about increasing or in this case decrease in the interest rate by 50 basis points

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Has some long-term impact and I thought I'd spend just a minute talking about it

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And we'll come back with more right after this

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: This is viewpoints with Kirby Anderson

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: A recent column in the Washington Post observes that Western government until recently generally did not regard social media

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And the vision of free speech they promoted as being fundamental at odds with democracy

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: The author concludes that now these governments do, which is why Elon Musk and have a draw-off, are facing the revenge of the regulators

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_00]: He also warns that these men will have to think more carefully about who soil their on when they step off the plane

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Matt A. B. Exposes what is happening now that liberalism removes its mask

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: He laments that former labor secretary Robert Reich published a guide in the Guardian on how to reign in Elon Musk

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And even suggests that regulators around the world threatened Musk with an arrest

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Matt A. B. also points to two articles in the New York Times

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: The first one, if the first amendment is out of control

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: The more recent article acknowledged and then asked

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: The Constitution is sacred

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_00]: But is it also dangerous

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: We also might mention the comments by Supreme Court Justice Cangey Brown Jackson

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: She complained that the first amendment was hamstringing the government

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, that's the purpose of that amendment and the rest of the Bill of Rights

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I believe what is happening is exposing leftism within liberalism

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_00]: In previous commentaries I've made a distinction between liberalism and the left

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Liberals and conservatives believe in free speech

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Leftist do not

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I discovered this many decades ago when speaking on college campuses

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Liberal professors were willing to engage in debate and discussion

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Radical leftists worked to shut down debate and went to stop any discussion

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Liberal pundits and politicians love to talk about free speech on social media platforms

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Until they saw comments they didn't like

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Now the mask is off

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm Kervian Anderson, and that's my point of view

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Free booklet on a biblical view of Patriot preachers go to viewpoints.info-patriot preachers

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Viewpoints.info-patriot preachers

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You're listening to point of view

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Your listener supported source for truth

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: The turnertition attention to the Middle East for just a few minutes

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Especially Israel and we've had all of these exploding pages

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Now again there's no confirmation that Israeli intelligence is behind it

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: But it certainly looks like the kind of thing that Israeli intelligence would do

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: This article that I've posted here by Noah Rothman reminds you of other very sophisticated ways in Israeli intelligence

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been able to take out a Hamas leader, Hezbollah leader, or the rest

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about some of that on the program

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But let's if we can get into it just a little more detail

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Because he points out that despite much saber rattling

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Iran has not yet retaliated as has been promised

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_00]: For the breathtaking operation that neutralized the Hamas leader

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: With a bomb that was planted in a diplomatic safe house in Tehran

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_00]: A couple weeks ago we talked about what it would take for you to be able to get into that safe house

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_00]: No where he was going to be at a certain time

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: To plant a bomb and never be discovered by Iranian security forces

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And then to detonate it was very death well first of all

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It was devastating to the leader of Hamas and his security guard

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_00]: But it was embarrassing for Iran to actually think that they could protect an individual like that

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And interesting enough Noah Rothman says that the reluctance from Iran

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe in part inspired by the regime's well-founded belief that acting in haste

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Might lead to an explosive device going off uncomfortably somewhere else

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe on someone's body and that's exactly what happened

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course over the weekend

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I try not to laugh but this is one of those times where when bad guys get their come up

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And you kind of have to appreciate that and that is what he says

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: When a thousand his ball-op operatives in Lebanon and Syria had their pages carried by hundreds of his ball-op operatives

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Unexpectedly exploded at the same time on Tuesday afternoon

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And the affected pages were from a new shipment that the group received in a few days

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_00]: A his ball-op official said hundreds of fighters had such devices speculating that malware

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Had caused the devices to explode

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Well it's one thing for a device to explode is another thing for the damage that is done

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: If you have the stomach for it there are a number of videos out there showing these going off

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Oftentimes they're been posted from security cameras and it's pretty gruesome

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And ironically enough as Noah Rothman points out

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Hezbollah reportedly came to rely on pages rather than on more modern communication technologies

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Because they felt that those would be safer from the ease dropping

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_00]: The electronic ease dropping of Israel

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Which again is considered one of the most sophisticated in the world

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Some people have referred to this as almost kind of like a James Bond scenario or something of that nature

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And again, Noah Rothman points out that there is no confirmation of Israeli involvement

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_00]: In which at least his ball-op officials have referred to as the biggest security breach

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_00]: That the terrorist group has ever experienced at least since October 7th

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But there have been a lot of security breaches of late

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_00]: He goes into and I'll skip over those some that we've mentioned before

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's got to put at least a little bit of credit on the side of Israel

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: If they're not to blame for this and I think almost everybody believes that they are

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_00]: They have been able to pull off some things that would cause individuals who are part of Hamas, his ball-op

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_00]: The hoothees whatever it might be those various groups that have been attacking Israel

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: To be really scared about where they sleep, what kind of electronic devices they have in their pockets or in their hands and the rest

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And so again these campaigns which he documents

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_00]: He says I've been followed up now with a pageur bombing campaign

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And while the disabling of an untold number of his ball-op operatives is remarkable

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_00]: It's also ominous because this week the Israeli Defense Minister told reporters that the hour is nearing when Israeli forces will have to confront

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_00]: What is happening in southern Lebanon again let me educate you if you go to Israel or you look to Israel on a map

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_00]: To the north is Lebanon and that's where the real threat comes from Hezbollah

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_00]: To the southwest of Israel is where you have the Gaza Strip and the threat until fairly recently has been Hamas

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Although much of that has now been neutralized

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And so again that is a concern because in order to return the tens of thousands of Israelis who have actually fled their home

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_00]: In the northern part of Israel near Lebanon's border

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_00]: They've not been able to return and so in some respects this could be essentially the next phase of Israel's defensive war

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_00]: By dangerous one in which the idea will face off against an enemy with tens of thousands of fighters

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_00]: In over 150,000 rockets and missiles which are trained at Israeli cities

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's a real concern about what may unfold there

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He can prove by saying look no doubt the simultaneous coordinated detonation of the unsuspecting bombs

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_00]: In Hezbollah fighters pockets is a coup

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_00]: The decree to which Israeli intelligence has penetrated Iran's security forces and services

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And those of the terrorist proxies is astounding

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And it may have a deterrent effect on the Iranian regime

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But Hezbollah will not be deterred into voluntary submission

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_00]: The Patriostrikes are only the opening Savos of a dangerous conflict

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Which now seems all but inevitable

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So again pray for the priests of Jerusalem

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It's an illustration again of the remarkable

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Intelligence capabilities of Israel

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But again a nation that is fighting for its very survival

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_00]: First with Hamas and now it looks like with Hamas Hizballot

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So just before take a break let me just mention a couple of small things

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: One of those I've just had to smile at this

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Jim Garry says for once Donald Trump can legitimately argue and elite Kabbal

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Created him out of a real win

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_00]: What he's talking about is this

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_00]: The decision came down it was announced the other day that the Teamsters Union will not endorse either Donald Trump

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Norcom, Kamala Harris

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Now the Teamsters have almost always endorsed the Democratic Party candidate

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_00]: So that is in some respect sort of a little bit of a victory for Donald Trump

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But the real issue is this

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_00]: If you begin to look at the votes that were taking place

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You have a situation in which the rank and file of the individuals was very different

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: When they asked the various members of the Teamsters Union

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Who'd you support?

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It was 59.6% almost 60% preferred Donald Trump to Kamala Harris

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And then 34% for Kamala Harris

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_00]: It was about the same when you had a phone

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Poll 58% to 31%

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So this is a case where if the leadership had actually listened to its membership

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Donald Trump would have received the endorsement

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And of course you might remember that the Teamsters President Sean O'Brien

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Actually gave the closing address on the first night of the Republican National Convention

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Sort of an up about a 17 minute speech about that as well

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And so in some respects maybe Donald Trump was hoping that he would get the endorsement

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But by not giving it to Kamala Harris

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was a signal to the fact that we don't necessarily think these economic policies of Kamala Harris

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: are ones that are going to be necessarily helpful

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_00]: And in some cases financially fruitful for people in the Teamsters Union

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So I do like the way in Jim Garry posted it

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_00]: For once, Donald Trump really can't legitimate your argue that an individual or a number of individuals in the elite

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Of the Teamsters Union actually cheated him out of a real win

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Because if you took the vote of the Teamsters

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_00]: They certainly overwhelmingly support Donald Trump at least his policies

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Over the policies being proposed by Kamala Harris

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So again just that I'd mention that one

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_00]: It probably won't cat last very long kind of a one day story

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But I thought it'd pass it on to you and mention once again that if you go to our website during the break

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00]: We have my viewpoints commentary today about censorship

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Which I wrote it quite a while ago

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But it matches up perfectly the conversation we've had today with Nathan Watts

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_00]: We of course have our video on voting your biblical duty our election central

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course we have our events registration which will post again

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_00]: One of the next trips will take after our trips

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course we've taken to California and to Illinois

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you scroll down a little bit further

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You'll see away in which you can subscribe to our pray for America

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Subscription we send that out once a week

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Just looked over the one going out

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I think you will really appreciate that having to do with the conversation next about the Trump assassination

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_00]: In of course we have our port of view highlights on Spotify

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_00]: So take the time to look over the website when we come back

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_00]: In Shapiro another month another Trump assassination attempts will be right back

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It almost seems like we live in a different world from many people in positions of authority

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: They say men can be women and women men

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_01]: People are prosecuted differently or not at all depending on their politics

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Criminals are more valued and rewarded than law-abiding citizens

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_01]: It's overwhelming so demoralizing you feel like giving up

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_01]: But we can't we shouldn't we must not as Winston Churchill said to Britain in the darkest days of World War Two

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Never given never given never never never never never never healed to force never healed to the apparently overwhelming bite of the enemy

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we say to you today

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_01]: This is not a time to give in but to step up and join point of view in providing clarity in the chaos

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_01]: We can't do it alone but together with God's help

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_01]: We will overcome the darkness

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Invest in biblical clarity today at point of view.net

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_01]: or call 1-800-347-51

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Point of view.net

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_01]: and 800-347-51

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Point of view will continue at the view our listening to point of view

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_01]: The opinions expressed on point of view do not necessarily reflect the views of the management or stand of this station

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And now here again is Kirby Anderson

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Penelope, I will talk a little bit about the assassination done before we wind down for today

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Talk about two films that you may want to see and just a good article we've posted on one

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Another one we can post as well if you would like some of that information

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Again, you can decide if you want to go to a film or not

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Or whether you want to wait till there's on maybe a DVD or something and read the documentary

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But we'll get to that in just a minute

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Penelope has a good piece another month another Trump assassination

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_00]: We have posted that so you can read it and then also I want to then quote

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_00]: A survey which is very concerning to me about the number of Americans

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_00]: who in a poll said that they would support violence against Donald Trump

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: It is a much larger number or percentage than I would have guessed

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Well let's get first of all to this article by Ben Shapiro

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So this week it would be a sassan named a rifle at Donald Trump through the fence that they trump international golf club

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_00]: West Palm Beach, Florida

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Secret Service of the man and shot at him he was later arrested

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_00]: The alleged shooter has a long record of clear cut left wing hatred

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_00]: He has a pine that trump ought to be killed by Iran

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_00]: He's also donated to Democrats and his truck supports a Biden Harris bumper sticker

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I would not blame the leftist or liberals or Democrats or him

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Although sometimes the other is always the case that any statement being made by a talk show

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think all the way back to the claim that the reason Timothy McVeigh blew up that federal building

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: In Oklahoma City was due to Rush Limbaugh

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_00]: There is always an attempt to blame individual in a talk show, a particular politician or whatever

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Whenever it's convenient for the left but we recognize these are very unstable individuals

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And it is fortunate they were able to catch him because he was stupid enough to wear a pink shirt

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Just think about this he was in the bushes and over in a hole that if eventually Donald Trump played

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Through to the hole would have been within easy range

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_00]: If it weren't for the fact that he had a pink shirt and had a gun sticking out there

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Secret Service might not have seen him for a while and just again

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_00]: There are so many questions being raised about the future of the secret service

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_00]: The argument being made now by members of Congress that we need more money and argument from other members of Congress

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Saying look money is not going to solve the problem here. This is a leadership problem

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_00]: But again those are important issues to remember why did this second assassination attempt take place

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And Shapiro says this the answer is obvious America's a large country with a large number of unstable people

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Overheated rhetoric general appeals to the unhinged the unhinged may take seriously that rhetoric and attempt violence as a consequence

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean that those who spout such rhetoric or criminal responsible for their actions of the violent

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: It does mean that when the temperature is raised on the political stove

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: He becomes more predictable for the pot to boil over again. I blame the shooter

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a little bit. I blame secret service for not having provided better protection

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'll leave it to the various individuals

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Damaging know and others that are following that particular angle

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_00]: But to say that it was due to the rhetoric as we're going to talk about just a minute in this article by Heather McDonald

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I think is wrong-headed and really pointing in the wrong direction

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But again Ben Shapiro says we now have insubjected to a full decade of talk about how Donald Trump is a full-scale threat to the American Republic

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_00]: President Joe Biden has given speeches labeling Trump as a danger to the soul of democracy

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Vice President Convall Harris has had a very fabric of our countries at stake

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Trump has been compared to in your field in the blank

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Eight off Hitler and all sorts of other individuals

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So is it as he said an enormous shock that someone with mental issues might think that taking a shot at Trump would be justified even heroic

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And he says it's certainly true that overheated rhetoric exists on both sides of the political aisle

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_00]: That is certainly true. I will have certainly agree with that

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And understand just why Trump has been subjected to two separate assassination attempts in eight weeks

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_00]: It isn't enough just to blame the violent rhetoric alone

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And he goes on to then give some other arguments in his piece

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_00]: But I thought I would move from there to a piece that just surface the other day

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And this is done by again Robert Papes political violence and election

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Assessing the threat from the left and the right

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Using the survey the June result show that about

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_00]: 26 million people in America agree with the statement and there's a plus or minus about three percent

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So margin mayors about three percent, but okay 26 million people say that quote

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Use the forces justified to prevent Trump from becoming president

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So it means that these two individuals that attempted to kill Donald Trump

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_00]: are just a tip of the iceberg of potential other individuals

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_00]: The study also noted that these 26 million are active dangerous and have growth potential

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_00]: For example, 9 million of that 26 million for example, Onguns

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_00]: 5 million have attended a protest in the last 12 months

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And it just illustrates kind of the point I was making before

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I held up the book by Jonathan Turley and we will spend some time in his book over the next week

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Or so probably two weeks from now we'll get into this whole idea free speech

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_00]: But Jonathan Turley again as a professor of public interest law at George Washington University

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: He's the author of this new book The indispensable right free speech and an age of rage

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_00]: In which he has said look for some violent language can become violent action

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_00]: This is a normalization that can occur as extreme actions become more acceptable to more and more citizens

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And then quoting from his own book because the subtitles free speech in the age of rage

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: He says we're living in an age of rage

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_00]: It permeates every aspect of our society in politics

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Rage is liberating even a dicting

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It allows us to say and do things that we would ordinarily avoid even denounce

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And others rages often found in the farthest extreme of reason for those who disagree with the underlying message

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_00]: It is righteous and passionate for those who disagree it is dangerous

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And it is disabling

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And so again this idea that some of these phrases and some of these comments are enough

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Justification for the fact that an unstable person would then feel the right to go and try to kill the former president of the United States

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And that before we take our break brings me to another article and this is by our friend Heather McDonald

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_00]: who is at the Manhattan Institute

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Probably best known for her most recent book when race trumps merit

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But here she points out something as an individual living in New York City

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And that is the New York Times has always had a philosophy that we will never blame the victim

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_00]: If you were a victim of rape

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Well it's not something you did if you were a victim and survived an attempt on your life

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_00]: We're not going to blame me because you walked down a street without necessarily paying attention to someone that was going to try to kill you

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And she says the New York Times devotedly follows the cardinal rule of liberalism never blame the victim

[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_00]: At least for officially designated victims of American racism and classism

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Slavely for example, not higher rates of criminal offending is responsible for blacks unequal involvement in the criminal justice system

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_00]: If unwed mothers support the reason lies on the heartless welfare rules

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Not in the decision have a child out of wetlock

[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But she says when it comes to Donald Trump

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Victim blaming is exactly what they do

[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_00]: According to the Times, leading a writer, Peter Baker, Trump is responsible for the attempted assassinations against him

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Here's the quote from Peter Baker

[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_00]: quote, at the heart of today's eruption of political violence as Mr. Trump

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_00]: A veg your who seems to inspire people to make threats to take actions both for him and against him

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_00]: That's in that lead article goes on to explain then the Trump inspires the attacks against him

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And then of course Heather McDonald says, you know it's really hard to imagine

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_00]: This kind of thinking applied to any other victim of assassination attempts

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Whether it's Martin Luther King Jr. John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_00]: But it is something that is applied almost routinely to Donald Trump

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And then of course the article goes on to recycle what she calls the fiction that

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Megasupporters actually the reason for bomb threats in springfield, Ohio

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I'm going to come back to the Springfield, Ohio story in the future

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_00]: In fact as the Ohio governor marked the wine revealed

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_00]: The actual calls came from bad actors overseas

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So it wasn't conservatives or liberals wasn't mega supporters anybody else

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That made the bomb threats in springfield, Ohio

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_00]: But the point he's she is making is a good one

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_00]: We don't blame the victim

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But in this particular case there's a massive exception used by the New York Times

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_00]: That they don't blame the he did rhetoric on the Democratic side

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_00]: They only blame the he did rhetoric on the Republican side in particular the rhetoric of Donald Trump

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought you might want to see that article

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_00]: It is a great way to realize that sometimes they rules apply until you get to Donald Trump

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And then everything changes will be right back

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_01]: To point up you, your listener supported source or truth

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_00]: But at end by just talking about two movies you might want to consider seeing

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_00]: One is Matt Walsh's new film, Am I a racist which I've not had a chance to see

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Although I've seen many the clips from it

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And the other is the Reagan movie which I have seen and actually love so much

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Because having no grown up in California

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Actually having a signature by governor Ronald Reagan and my autograph book along with a signature for Richard Nixon

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Others just have met a lot and knowing some of the people that had been in the Reagan administration back in California

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And of course following him all the way to Washington DC very important

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But Matt Walsh's attempt is to of course almost like a borough

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I've fun on the basis of a lot of DEI and anti-racist kind of rhetoric

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And it reminded me of a dinner we did a number of years ago here at point of view

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Where Kelly Shackleford and Dinesh to Susan I were up and Dinesh to Susan said something that Kelly and I talked about later

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_00]: You know we really probably need to have some conservative group

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_00]: That could be kind of like Saturday night live and really take on some of these issues

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And point out the satire and the logical inconsistency of some of that

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And shortly thereafter of course we began to hear more and more about the Babylon B

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And of course you've seen Matt Walsh now with two different films

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You know about a woman and about racism

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But this article by Jason Ryeth that was good because he says Robin D'Angelo the author the best selling white fragility

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And leading authority on DEI diversity equity inclusion

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't want you to see am I racist which is a new documentary about the DEI industry

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you see it anyway, which I strongly recommend that's what Jason Ryeth says

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You'll understand her objections. You'll also laugh a lot

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_00]: He says before the films theatrical release last week

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Robin D'Angelo posted a statement on her website that accused the star

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Daily Wire podcaster Matt Walsh of promoting racism

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But my guess is a real objection is to the movie that it's bad for business

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Because she has made a good living charging schools, government agencies and fortune 500 companies

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Tens of thousands of dollars to give speeches and host workshops on anti-racism

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Then again Jason Ryeth says in the movie, M.I racist Mr. Walsh poses as a liberal activist

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Who is earnestly and hilariously seeking the council of unsuspecting DEI experts

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_00]: He reveals how much they charge for their services

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Robin D'Angelo received $15,000 from about two hours of her time

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And the kind of gobbledy-gooke advice clients get in return

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: To his credit, Matt Walsh's approach isn't mean spirit or add the serial he poses straightforward questions

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Let them discredit themselves along the way the DEI industry is revealed to be something of a record

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And for opponents such as Robin D'Angelo look like high-brow grifters

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Just in case you're wondering about DEI the other day when I was speaking to a group

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And a peore ileno actress in Washington, Illinois

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Someone came up afterwards and said you didn't say anything about DEI and they said no

[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_00]: If there's anything I wish I'd done in my speech it was

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you either have one of you ask a question about DEI or to actually bring it up myself

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Because this next paragraph or so talks about the fact that if you've done an analysis of DEI diversity, equity and inclusion

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_00]: This article that was published in the Harvard Business Review

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_00]: It had the arresting title, Diversity Training doesn't work

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_00]: This is in the Harvard Business Review

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_00]: According to the article one study of 829 companies over 31 years show that diversity training

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_00]: had no positive effects on the average workplace and that millions of dollars were spent annually on training results that in well nothing

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Attitudes into diversity of organizations remain the same

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So first of all it doesn't work second of all I think it is at least as you would get the sense after watching the film by Matt Walsh

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And I am racist that maybe it's a con but nevertheless this article I posted for you because it actually goes into some depth about the movie

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And about the DEI industry and so it's our last article, well second last article

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I won't get to our last article because I'm going to postpone that one till tomorrow

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And let me mention one other film and that is the film Reagan

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Now that one doesn't necessarily Christian

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Although after going to the film I was amazed how many times it talked about the Christian roots of Ronald Reagan

[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of that was based upon the book by Dr. Paul Kinger of Gross City College

[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Now if you've listened to this program you know that I've interviewed Dr. Kinger many times

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_00]: He is written quite a number of books on

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess he's written eight books

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I just have forgot about that on Ronald Reagan but a lot of this is based on his one book

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_00]: The Crusader which was really about the single minded focus of Ronald Reagan

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_00]: To defeat the Soviet Union and communism

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_00]: But in one of the articles by our good friend Jerry Nukum who's also interviewed Paul Kinger many many times

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_00]: He pointed out that if you look at rotten tomatoes

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You see an incredible discrepancy

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Only about 18% of the critics gave it a positive thumbs up

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And 98% of the movie going public gave it a thumbs up

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Which I think shows the rather interesting dichotomy there

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And Paul Kinger even writes about this in an article in American spectator

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Which again I get and I would certainly encourage you to subscribe to

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_00]: But Paul Kinger said this

[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_00]: One of my students asked how a man so vilified managed to win 49 out of 50 states

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_00]: That was of course in 1984

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Nearly 60% of the vote and won the electoral college 525 to 13

[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And interestingly enough, we saw it received millions and millions of votes from Democrats

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And Paul Kinger said well the answer is those who vilified him always were a very small percentage of people

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_00]: filled with rage towards Ronald Reagan and any conservative Republican

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And interestingly enough Jerry Nukum reminds us of one of the many things he appreciates about Ronald Reagan

[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And that was his pro-life stance

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_00]: A reporter one time asked him in a hostile way why he wasn't pro-choice

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Ronald Reagan said well first of all I happen to notice everyone's huge pro-choices already been born

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And of course he was a Republican president who is pro-life

[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh I look back for the days when that was the case

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But nevertheless you might remember when he was president

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Also wrote a book in 1984 called abortion and the conscience of a nation

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And so Jerry Nukum and his piece of course talks about how he was conservative on defense

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_00]: On economy on social issues certainly all sorts of values

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Certainly had a very focused agenda and that is to defeat the Soviet Union

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And in there certainly at one point they ask what's his philosophy he says we win they lose

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I think Dennis Quay did a very good job of capturing some of the famous quotes from Ronald Reagan

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And it gave you a sense of his childhood

[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_00]: His time is an actor and in California government

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And then as president and then even as he retired and was aware of the Alzheimer's that eventually affected him and did his life

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So couple films I would recommend them

[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I can only recommend Reagan having seen it

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But I know enough about Matt Walls to know that if you are in for a good time probably a lot of

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting kinds of presentations there and all sorts of different interviews

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And just again some places where you can really maybe educate yourself in the case of Ronald Reagan

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_00]: About a man that maybe was alive when you were not alive

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And I certainly know our younger audience was not around when Ronald Reagan was there

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And maybe only he's heard a little bit about him

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And then more recently what about this issue of DEI

[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Well again, I've written some booklets on that
