[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for joining me, it is the Monday Edition of Point of View and we're looking forward to an opportunity to broadcast today from WPEO

[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Looking forward to that opportunity but also certainly want to encourage you to find out a little bit more about some of the issues

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be talking about here on Point of View. Of course we have lots to talk about including attempted assassination again of Donald Trump

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But we'll also be getting into a number of other issues that I think you'll need to know about. For example, we have some back and forth on

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Fact checking and we often talk about how in some respects the fact checkers need to be fact checks

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So it will give you a positive and a negative in that regard tomorrow's Constitution Day. I thought that'd be a great opportunity to teach about the Constitution and some of the things that we need to know

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And next now, we're going to have Michael Hoodman with us

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And he is the founder of God questions and that is just a phenomenal organization that really developed just out of a hobby of his

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: In which he has been able to answer so many questions for an enormous number of people. I'll give you all those numbers later and his new book out

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_02]: The 100 most ask questions about God and the Bible, so we have a lot to cover and certainly will do so as well

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I just want to say thank you to our friends here at WPO in Pioria, Illinois. They have always been such a gracious host

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_02]: At a chance to meet some of the donors and I might just mention for those of you that are still in the area

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And have not signed up

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We have quite a number of people that will be meeting us for the luncheon tomorrow

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_02]: If you have not signed up go to the website point of view.net

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Which you will notice is that on the right hand side there is a banner that says events registration click on that

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you still would like to attend we would love to know that you're coming and certainly we almost always have a few people that did not register and show up

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But we always want to make sure that we have enough chairs and a food and all of that so again take the time to do that as well

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's get into what again has been a very sad commentary on the attack on the president

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_02]: This one would maybe not as dangerous as the one that came out of Butler, Pennsylvania

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But again the suspected gunman accused of attempting to assassinate the former president Donald Trump at his floor

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: A golf club on Sunday has had a long run in with the police including a barricade in himself and his business is an

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Individual that has been in the news or even on social media talking about the fact that he wanted to fight and

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_02]: In Ukraine as a volunteer

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure time after that it pairs

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_02]: appears that he did travel to Kiev and wrote a social media he was there to fight the Russians back in December

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_02]: 2002 this individual appears to have been involved in an arms standoff

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: With police after a traffic stop and according to one online news account was pulled over by the Greensboro

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Police about 1 a.m. on December 15th of that year during the traffic stop

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: He's hand on a firearm then fled the scene later on where of course they were able to take him into custody

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Court records say that he was charged with carrying a concealed weapon possessing a weapon of mass destruction in the form of a fully automatic machine gun

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Driving with a revoked license for existing delay in an obstructing police officer and also a number of other issues associated with that

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Well again, this is just a reminder that we live in a dangerous world and it is dangerous for individuals who

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Are in the public eye and I pointed out before that there has always been some concern as to whether or not there was enough

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Support and protection of the former president

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course for some time. There was no protection at all for a presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And so it's just a reminder that these kind of circumstances certainly seem to have some kind of

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: frequency that are very disturbing to all of us

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_02]: As always there's always the question

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_02]: What was his motive?

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course my favorite line is his motive was to kill the president

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't need to know any other motives than that

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you want to talk about political motives it appears that he has supported the Democratic Party

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Since the 2020 presidential election he made at least 19 separate contributions to

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Democratic affiliated super PAC called act blue

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But also we've heard that he has actually had voted for Donald Trump in 2016

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't necessarily need to know all of that. We know that these are sometimes very disturbed

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Individuals and here again

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to give credit to not only the secret service but the other individuals involved around that

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump international golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So that if nothing else I think is enough to talk about in that regard other than to see the nightly

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: There have been a number of people asking why this is happening and again

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: There were so commentator that came out today Jim Gerty who I quote quite often said that if indeed

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You want to look for why some individuals would believe that Donald Trump should be a target

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He says well, let's look at the fact that oftentimes Donald Trump has been described as

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: The root of all evil an individual is going to lead to the end of democracy

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: He says some generally believe that if Trump was elected in 2024 that would be the last free and fair

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Presidential election I don't believe any of that by the way

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Are the Trump will deploy the US military to seize voting machines and rerun elections in swing states?

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: That actually comes from an op-ed from Liz Cheney that appeared in the Wall Street Journal

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: So you can see that you're not just talking about

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Democrats with Cheney a Republican making that statement and even in the debate

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_02]: That we talked about last week

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Our Kamal Harris said Donald Trump left us the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I like Jim Gerty said the worst really Pearl Harbor 911 don't make the cut nothing by al Qaeda or ISIS or even Timothy McFey

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Belong in that same discussion and he says don't get me wrong. What happened on January 6 was a pollen and an outrage

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But again the buck doesn't necessarily have to always stop with a president and

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Building up Trump as our national Voldemort is he said is not appropriate

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Also we've had course the former Vice President or current vice president and now President Chuk Kennedy

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Come LaHarris warning in the debate the United States Supreme Court recently ruled that the former president could

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Essentially be immune for many misconduct if he were to enter the White House again

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Again, you think that through and as again Jim Gerty points out that is not accurate Supreme Court ruled quote under our

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Constitutional structure of separated powers the nature of presidential power and titles the form president to absolutely immunity from criminal prosecution

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_02]: for actions within his conclusive and presqueousive

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Constitution authority and he's entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all official acts

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_02]: There is no immunity for unofficial acts and so again some of the claims and the arguments being made

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Go over the top and I don't think this helps and of course as you probably have watched some of the news

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It says well the reason Donald Trump's main attack is because of the over the top kind of comments being made by him and J.D. Vance

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we should at least be fair and recognize that some of the comments being made by and this case both Republicans and Democrats are

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Untrace of really over the top and making statements as come will here a state that is

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody who would term a night

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Quoting terminate the constitution of the United States

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_02]: That he would weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just a reminder of that in some respects there is a problem that we've talked about for some time of projection

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_02]: That is often times accusing the president or J.D. Vance or anybody else of things that they have actually

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Wanted to implement as well, but that's all we're gonna say about the assassination attempt again

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to give credit where credit is due to those people in the secret service

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I certainly credit to those people in West Palm Beach when we come back

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we'll illustrate the fact checkers need to be fact check. We'll be right back

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: This is viewpoints with curvy Anderson

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Should parents be held criminally liable if the child shoots others in a school or public place?

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_02]: That is a question being considered in Georgia the 14-year-old shooter who killed four people has been indicted

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But so is this 54-year-old father?

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Earlier this year a jury in Michigan convicted parents after the son killed four students and wounded six others

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_02]: They were prosecuted for being negligent. They knew of their son's mental health issues and failed to secure the family firearms

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's look at this question logically and take guns out of the equation for a moment

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Imagine a four-year-old is left in a car that is running for a moment by a mother who went to get the mail or opened the garage door

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He jumps into the car seat somehow puts the car in reverse and backs over in kills for people

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I think all of us would assume that the parents are fully responsible for his act because of negligence

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Now change it to a 30-year-old in a car who mows down in kills four people in a moment of road rage

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: We wouldn't hold the parents responsible at all

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But what would we think if it was a 14-year-old doing the same thing?

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_02]: In the Georgia case, there are other factors. The shooter had made previous threats and was interviewed by the police his father body McGon

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Other family members report the family was dysfunctional and the boy was the subject of lots of verbal abuse and suffering from significant emotional turmoil

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Those factors explain why the Georgia authorities charged the father with involuntary manslaughter

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Second-degree murder and cruelty to children will learn more as a case progresses

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But this case sends a clear signal to parents that they are responsible for their child's mental state and subsequent actions

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm Kirby Anderson, and that's my point of view a free booklet on a biblical view of Patriot preachers go to viewpoints.info slash Patriot preachers

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Viewpoints.info slash Patriot preachers

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You're listening to point of view

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Your listener supported source for truth

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Back once again a Monday edition of point of view broadcast in live today from WPEO

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: In Peoria, Illinois and looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course for all of you around the nation. Let me point you to the website point of view.net

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: We've got a couple of articles here's my defect the first two. I'm gonna spend a little bit of time on and has to do with the issue fact checking

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: As we've said before sometimes the fact checkers need to be fact check themselves

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So the first one by Beckett Adams points out the number of times where

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Fact checkers not only did not understand some of the things that Donald Trump and JD Vance believe

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But they don't seem to even understand the various views of Kamala Harris and Tim Wals

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I'll talk about one from CNN. Let's give credit where credit is you see it and actually did fact check

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Some of the attacks that are on the social media and there is so many things that are being said right now

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Or not accurate and I'll get into the counts that some people have come up with whether it's in the debate

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Whether it's in the presentations or in the case in the second article talk about just a minute

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_02]: The things he posted on social media

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So again, this is the world that we find ourselves in we wish that there was more honesty in politics

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_02]: We wish that during a campaign

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_02]: There would be some level of decorum and civility, but that's a different world than we

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Certainly used to experience and it's certainly one that we'll talk about

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But Beckett Adams puts it this way so much who has made clear by the coverage of the Trump Harris debate

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Members of the press increasingly have no idea what conservatives believe

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: That's always known. He's gives you a fact check there and a link to it

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But he says what's different now

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it apparently members of the press also have no idea of what the democratic presidential nominee believes and so the

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_02]: First issue he takes on is the fact that if you remember the debate from last Tuesday Donald Trump made a case for the fact that vice president

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Kamala Harris

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_02]: supports taxpayer funded sex changes for illegal immigrants

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Also for abortion with no limits even up to the moment of birth

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And so we'll look at the first one and then we'll take the second one

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But the first one was kind of interesting because on each one of these points, of course

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You might remember that David mirror and Lindsey Davis who were the ABC news

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Either challenge or corrected vice of the president Donald Trump former president Donald Trump or else these were corrected later on

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And in both cases as

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Beckett Adams points out

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump was right and the fact checkers were wrong

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_02]: To show you how extreme it is let's go to

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: As you read through this particular article from the New Yorker where you have a journalist Susan Glasser who asked in her post debate column

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_02]: What in the blank was Trump talking about?

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_02]: No one knows he declared confidently and the argument is we have no idea what he's talking about when he's talking about taxpayer

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: funded

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Changes for illegal immigrants and

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Beckett Adams says well, maybe she doesn't know but just think of all the people who do know

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_02]: CNN for example last week actually did a fact check and did no

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Andrew Kazinsky writing on the CNN website, which I quoted last week he knows the neb's

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_02]: News sites that actually

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_02]: picked up the CNN exclusive reporting they know and most of all the American civil liberties

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Union knows because that's where she gave her support for that idea

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_02]: But instead the argument is always made this is just another one of these really crazy ideas that the former president Donald Trump has come up with

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Then he moves from telling you some of the things that were being said in the New Yorker to tie magazine

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And again, they make the argument in tie magazine that the former president falsely claimed that Harris wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And the story as a again, Beckett Adams points out carries three by lines and his argument is three reporters

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and not one of them

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Mother to do the bare minimum required of their profession and that is to actually fact check

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Then he goes to the Atlantic and Atlantic same false reporting and this particular case the staff writer here says

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump said some strange things even by his own standards

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He falsely suggests that Kamala Harris wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison and then only later

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The Atlantic went back and affixed an editor note

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Conceding that the thing that they thought was completely insane actually is something that

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Certainly Kamala Harris actually said she supports

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So those are all with that

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_02]: What was seen at the time just a really bizarre comment by the former president of the United States and yet all of the

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Things that he the few things he said were true and all of the so-called fact checks and we're now running a total of

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: The New Yorker time magazine and Atlantic and

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Course up until CNN ran that piece all sorts of other news outlets. Let's take the other one

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That has to do with the fact that again Donald Trump said they have abortion in the ninth month

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And again that was rejected as a matter of fact

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_02]: This is where you now have on a line there Lindsey Davis who is of course one of the moderators

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_02]: For ABC said there is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, all you have to do is look at the state where the

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_02]: presumptive vice presidential nominee is from between January 1, 2019 December 31, 2022

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_02]: The Minnesota Department of Health recorded eight cases at which infants were born alive during abortion processes and

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Procedures none of the babies survived

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: More specifically the five born alive cases that were reported in

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: 2021 from January 1 to January 1 to December 31, 2021 in those cases the Minnesota

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Department of Health said no measures were taken to preserve life after those are reported and

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: One more piece if you wanted to add to that as well

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Later in 2023 the Minnesota Governor now the vice presidential nominee for the Democratic Party Tim Wall signed legislation

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Repealing nearly all the language of the 2015 born alive infants protection act and much of the language

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Original 1976 statue protecting born alive infants

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_02]: The will also overturned many of the state's abortion reporting

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Requirements including reporting on born alive infants and so again all the documentation for that is in this first article that you can read

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's worth mentioning while we are certainly talking about Minnesota

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_02]: The Minnesota currently has no statutory limitations on abortion at any stage in pregnancy and

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_02]: For that matter there are of course nine other states and the district of Columbia that have no gestational limits on abortion

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_02]: During the debate you might also remember there was a time when you actually had Lindsey Davis asked Kamala Harris

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Would you support any restrictions on a woman's right to an abortion?

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And you might remember if you watched the debate that Kamala Harris never really answered the question and of course

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Lindsey Davis never really followed up on that as well

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But you can begin to see that that would be I think a big issue as well and of course

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_02]: She couldn't simply say she'd be sporting any restrictions because if you believe in the so-called woman's right to choose

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Any restriction would be an interference in a woman's right which is why oftentimes

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_02]: They want to dodge the question as to whether or not they would allow abortion in the ninth month or even babies born alive

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_02]: During a botched abortion so those are some issues as well

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But just before we take a break and I'll get to maybe some positive examples of fact checking there's at least one other one that came out

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_02]: That is where Donald Trump during the debate

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Wanted to know where are the people that burned down Minneapolis?

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Where are the people that should be prosecuted for what happened in Seattle?

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that of course led to the Seattle times put in an effect check saying that Trump falsely claimed during the presidential

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: B2s a the protestor took over a big portion of Seattle during the Capitol Hill organized protest in 2020

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The fact check written by Ivani fair rest on the premise that the area covered is only only six to eight blocks

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And so as a result it's not a big a portion of Seattle

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But again, I think you have to recognize that that is really straining at a very

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_02]: insignificant issue and I thought it was also interesting that it's CNN the fact checker there estimated that Trump made at least 33 false statements

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Whereas Harris made only one and of course we've already

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Documented quite a number that she has made none of which were fact check, but let's give you a quick rundown

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Just before taking into the break and that is

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Comele Harris falsely claimed that Donald Trump supports a national abortion ban

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't and you can see that he doesn't and he said that he doesn't

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Kamala Harris says that he wants to ban IVF which is in vitro fertilization

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_02]: No, he does not you could read the platform and see that's not the case

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Kamala Harris also falsely claimed that nowhere in America as a woman carried a pregnancy

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Determined asking for abortion and yet of course we've talked about those situations that already are there as well

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So here is I think one of the reasons why more and more people are starting to wonder whether or not we are dealing with a fair

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Media simply on the fact checking that took place in real time on national television

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But after our break, I want to come back and talk about the fact that let's give credit or credit to Zoo

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_02]: CNN finally decided to do some fact checking on some of the things that show up in the area of social media

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Because that certainly is an important issue as well. Take a break we'll be back with more right after this

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It almost seems like we live in a different world from many people in positions of authority

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: They say men can be women and women men people are prosecuted differently or not at all depending on their politics

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Criminals are more valued and rewarded than law-biting citizens

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It's overwhelming so demoralizing you feel like giving up

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_01]: But we can't we shouldn't we must not as Winston Churchill said to Britain in the darkest days of World War II

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Never given never given never never never never never never

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Never healed to force never healed to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we say to you today. This is not a time to give in but to step up and

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Join point of view and providing clarity in the chaos we can't do it alone but together with God's help

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_01]: We will overcome the darkness

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Invest in biblical clarity today at point of view.net or call 1-800-347-51

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Point of view.net and

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_01]: 8347-51

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Point of view will continue after this

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_01]: You are listening to point of view

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_01]: The opinions expressed on point of view do not necessarily reflect the views of the management or staff of this station

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And now here again is Kirby Anderson

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Back once again broadcast in from WPEO in

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Piora, Illinois. I thought we'd talk about fact checking in just a minute

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But let me just point you to certainly a very important section of our website

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is called election central and in just a minute

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna be quoting from this new booklet that it says the importance of voting to again educate us and others around us about some of these important issues because after all

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Not only is important for people to get the right facts about

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: taxation and about policy and about various kinds of legislation

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: But especially in this election here is important for people to get good accurate information

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And as I've pointed out before we have posted a number of things that includes, of course, the Republican Party platform

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_02]: The Democratic Party platform a very good piece on voting your biblical duty as well as my booklet here on the importance of voting and we even have a link to first liberties election resource center

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And as we are talking about some of these issues

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's gonna be really important for us to make sure that not only do we know what is true

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But we make sure that other people that are in our sphere of influence are aware of that as well

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And a good example is if you want to get a copy of my latest booklet on

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_02]: biblical view on the importance of voting we spent some time talking about how we've had some very close elections

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: even close presidential elections

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_02]: The whole issue of stewardship of the vote and unfortunately there's still a number of individuals that are not registered to vote

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think you should work to make sure that people that you know are registered to vote and then go out and vote

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But the section on educating voters of course takes you back to our election central area and the interviews

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: We've done with groups like Christians engaged, but I thought it would mention just one more time

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_02]: The impact that not having the right information can have on an election

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Because after the 2020 election the media research center and those are some great individuals that we've interviewed over the years

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually hired what's called the polling place and they surveyed

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_02]: 1,750 Biden voters in seven swing states that would be Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Then they tested the voters knowledge about eight stories that they were convinced that the liberal news media failed to report properly

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And these are ones we've talked about before

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But the conclusion is more important than getting into all the details of the story

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You can read about that in this booklet, but they concluded that at least one of every six of these people that voted for Joe Biden in

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: 2020 said they would have abandoned the candidate, which either means that they would have voted for Donald Trump or they may not have voted

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_02]: That's 17 percent

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Well that 17 percent would have then changed the election dramatically

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's just an illustration of that very significant issue

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That they would have moved every one of those swing states and Trump's column and given him

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: 311 electrevotes by the way, only 220 electrevotes to actually be there

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is one of those issues that reminds us that you may be educated by listening to point of view

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But you need to pass on some of this information some of the fact checking stories that I have here some of the information

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: On election central and again for those of you that haven't heard me mention it before

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We really had a very close election last time if you look at the three

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Close states that was only a difference of 42,844 votes in three states if those 42,000 votes went the other way

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump would be finishing off his second term

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So to say that a vote is not significant is to fail to understand how close some of these elections have been

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But also to fail to educate not only yourself, but other individuals who are in your sphere of influence is important as well

[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's why we have that election central area

[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It has a course of opportunity for you to download the booklet on the importance of voting if you want just downloaded right now

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And get it as a PDF if you want us to mail it to you just give us an address and we give you a suggested donation

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: If you want to give but if not we'll send it to anyway

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_02]: We have voter guides we have articles. We have all sorts of viewpoint commentaries and the rest

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_02]: That's to equip you to make a difference in your community

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's give some credit where credit is due sometimes CNN hasn't done the best job of covering the campaign

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But they do deserve credit in this case

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Mad Vesville points out that they actually did fact check some of the things

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_02]: That are showing up on the Twitter account of Kamala Harris. It's called Kamala HQ account

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: This is one that has in round numbers about 1.3 million followers on X which used to be known as Twitter and

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They again at CNN and let's give credit where credit is to his Daniel Dale

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It's CNN has actually argued that they at that Twitter account have had a habit of misleading

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: clipping and inaccurately captioning video clips to attack former president Donald Trump

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_02]: He stops there, but it also gives an example later on of JD events. Let me just give you those

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Friday post that came up was making a statement that Trump said nothing was done wrong in Charlottesville

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_02]: When the neo-Nazi is of course or in Charlottesville

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about that before

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you go back and again, let's give credit to Daniel Dale and look at the full clip

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: He was again saying this was deceptively cut where he was not

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Me he was not claiming that the neo-Nazi did nothing wrong

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_02]: He was trying to deal with the fact that some of these other individuals who just were not pleased with taking down the statue of

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Robert of

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Certainly the statue there at that particular time

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We're actually doing nothing wrong and he did nothing wrong as well

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So again if you look at that particular statement that is made there

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: They were simply protesting the taking down of the Robert E. Lee statue, but at the same time

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It was clipped in such a way to actually draw a false conclusion

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_02]: This one more example before we move on and that is Senator JD Vance who is the running mate was

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Asked an interview would you consider privatizing veterans healthcare?

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_02]: You see JD Vance say I think I'll consider it and then they cut

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Well if you go back and look at this he says look I think I consider it

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But in he goes on to make the case that he would consider giving veterans greater flexibility to use private healthcare

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But he does not want to eliminate federal healthcare provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs and so again

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_02]: When you look at some of the ways in which these clips are manipulated

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's at least acknowledge that CNN has started to call out the way those are deliberately edited and

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Context is everything and Matt Vesba actually ends by saying look

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Whether it is Daniel Dale at CNN whether it's Snopes which is kind of a left of center fact checker

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Whether it is in some cases the Washington Post and others that have all

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Been able to show that Donald Trump did not call neo-Nazis verifying people

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_02]: That that should have been enough to end it and yet you've heard at the Democratic National Convention both the

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_02]: President Joe Biden and the vice president Kamal Harris and in the debate Kamal Harris uses it again

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: When they know it is wrong and he certainly raises the question is the liberal media willing to make that a hill to die on

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_02]: When we can say that when we watch the original press conference

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We know he didn't say it then and even all sorts of left wing outlets

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: ones that are not supportive of Donald Trump have actually done fact checking on that and so again

[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_02]: He gives credit to CNN and the fact that at least there will in two speak some of the very important issues to the culture

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: When last thing I thought I'd mention Matt Vesba later on was talking about the fact that there's all sorts of

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Investigative fact checking right now as to whether or not people in springfield

[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Ohio that isn't particular the Haitians in Ohio

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Capturing pets

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_02]: ED them in all the rest but the point he's making is simply if you look at the police reports

[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_02]: They corroborate some of the things that have happened to the bird life

[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But his bigger argument was that the inability of the media to suffocate this story

[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Whether true or not and it seems like there's more evidence to it than there was initially

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I think again illustrates the lack of trust that American people have with the media

[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_02]: It used to be quite easy to say as it did on the debate

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Just though that is not true and to make fun of Donald Trump and to mock the statement about that and even the statement later on by GDP

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It's but I think it illustrates again that the American people are starting to recognize

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That just because the mainstream press says that that's not true just because they have fact checked a story

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't necessarily mean that I'm going to trust the press and so one of the things that's come out of the Haitian story in springfield

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Ohio is that it has been very difficult to tamp down

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Rumor that they do not think is true and it illustrates that later on when we really do have some facts

[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_02]: That are inaccurate or rumors that are started or conspiracies that are spawned

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna have trouble tapping them down as well

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Which brings me to of course one of the themes that we've talked about so often and that is

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So often we wonder who do you trust?

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're gonna take a break when we come back or gonna move on to some other topics

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But I wanted you to recognize that there's some people doing fact checking some good some bad

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_02]: You need discernment and you need to visit point of view to get more information. We'll be right back

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You're listening to point of view your listener supported source for truth

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Tech West again broadcasting from WPEO in Fury, Illinois and next I were gonna spend some time talking with Michael Haldman about his book

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: The 100 most asked questions about God in the Bible. He actually is the founder of

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Godquestions.org

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Founded at 20 years ago more kind of as a hobby, but this is exploded

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_02]: He has received over 750,000

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_02]: personally submitted questions each month the articles on gotquestions.org

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_02]: He read approximately 20 million times and over these years the articles have been read well over two billion times

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Individual that just had this vision of wanting to answer questions that people have about the Bible about

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Jesus Christ about the church about in times about theology

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Old Testament new testament sexuality and so this is the hundred most asked questions

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We will talk about that with him next hour and I think you will really appreciate the conversation

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And if nothing else be encouraged that so many people are asking questions and I think illustrates again a point that I've always wanted to make

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And that is the need for us to see that the internet

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Can be used both for good or evil. I mean just think of them out of pornography over the internet

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Think about the number of false stories out there and all the rest

[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_02]: But it also can be a great tool for good and what a great tool for evangelism and

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_02]: There are so many ministries like that. I don't want to try to feature those from time to time because again

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_02]: This is an individual that just took it upon himself to create this gut questions website and just an incredible success story

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, I think you'll appreciate the book as well

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Since I talked about springfield Ohio

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought just real quick I've mentioned a very good piece that comes from dual Rothman because he points out that the city of Springfield Ohio right now

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He has been besieged we've had bomb threats and shooting scares and all sorts of things

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of that comes because of the attention that it was

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually was focused on Springfield because of the statement by Donald Trump and then the rhetoric

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But some of that was surfaced in long before Donald Trump said anything

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: You might remember Monday I had even mentioned that or Tuesday that it might even come up and it did and so the point that

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: No a Rothman is making is this is a media really loves to talk about any possible threat that comes perhaps

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_02]: From something that would be sort of a right wing side

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Although I'm not sure how many of those people are actually part of their right wing

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But on the other hand

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes tends to turn a little bit of a blind eye on the other and that is now

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course we have this second attempt on Donald Trump's life

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_02]: He says which took place Sunday afternoon it just the latest event to call this a preponderance of

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Sumption and a question the alleged would be assassin appears to be in some important way

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Similar to the gunman who shot off a portion of Trump's ear and killed

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the individuals there in Butler, Pennsylvania is efforts to advocate on behalf of Ukraine's cause going so far as to try to

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Join the fight against Russia's invaders.

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Session desire to make himself a part of a mission grander and all the rest and the point is is that

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_02]: This might shock the press but finding a single Trump supporter who is surprised by Sunday's news would be a struggle and he has a link to

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Some of the individuals that

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually were interviewed over the weekend. He says the political media are constantly on the lookout for right wing violence

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But much of these sustained

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Spate of political violence to which Americans have been treated over the course of this election cycle

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's come not from Trump supporters, but from his opponents and then he gives some examples

[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_02]: He talks about a situation in handcock Michigan

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Terrized by alone all terrain vehicle driver who vandalized two cars

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_02]: He talks about certainly of course all the things happening on campus with a return of students to American campuses

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_02]: amidst Israel's war

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course you've had all the pro-Homost protest and the rest

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Jewish students have been attacked he gives some good examples of that and a variety of other individuals that are suffering in that regard

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And so at the point he's making is I love this final conclusion

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Perhaps that it is responsible journalism as if as it doesn't seek to

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Incept

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Panic over a series of events that have lost to do less to do with the political environment than the disorder thinking

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Of the accused individuals but given the media's

[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Seaseless vigilance for manifestations of right wing violence to the exclusion of the menace of the left

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: The press doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt and the point he's making is is whether you look for violence on the left or right

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We would speak out against any of it in any situation

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But the ability sometimes to turn a blind eye door is simply ignore all the protests that happen in the 2020s

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Including the one example I gave just a minute ago out Seattle and then to focus exclusive on again a very terrible

[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Violent episode on January 6. I think illustrates again the fact that more and more people would like the press to play it fairly

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_02]: When you have one individual as I mentioned just a minute ago that

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Came up with a 33 different times in which Donald Trump made a factual statement that was an error

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And could only find one for Kamal Harris when I just rattled off a few and I've seen a very long list at some of the various websites

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_02]: In illustrates again that I think people are looking for an honest place to get news and information

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So again, I hope that we are one of those places where you go and I hope that as we have oftentimes tried to do

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We post the articles so that you can read them for yourself if you talk to someone they said wait a minute

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I know you heard that on the radio, but how do you know that's true?

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's why you go to the website point of view.net and take the time to really check that out as well

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And today my commentary is about parents and shooters since we've been talking about shooting

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I even though I recorded this more than a week ago

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a reminder that we are now in a situation where sometimes with a shooter

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_02]: We wonder if especially if they're under age whether the parent should actually be charged as well

[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And for our listeners in Georgia, they're well aware of the fact that that 14-year-old shooter who killed four people has of course been indicted

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But so has his 54-year-old father now for our listeners in Michigan

[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_02]: They may remember the case up there earlier this year, and that's where a jury in Michigan

[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Convicted the parents after their son killed four students and wounded six others

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: They were prosecuted for being negligent

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I sort of take you through a thought experiment

[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's take guns out of the equation

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But imagine a four-year-old gets on a car maybe it was left running because mom goes to check the mail over the garage door

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Backs it out kill somebody or a 30-year-old

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Mose down people in a fit of road rage. I think a four-year-old who was left in the driver's seat and

[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Negligent we would see the parents are negligent a 30-year-old

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, he would say that is an individual that indeed is responsible and the parent should not be held responsible

[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It gets more difficult when we talk about a 14-year-old

[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course the case that we have out of Georgia reminds us that there were previous threats that he had made

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_02]: He was interviewed by the police his father bought him the gun other family members reported the family is very dysfunctional

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_02]: He was subject to lots of herbal abuse and suffered from significant emotional turmoil

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's something to start thinking our way through because if indeed we're going to see some of these shootings

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And I hope I'll never have to report another school shooting

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But the harsh reality is that's probably going to happen sometime in the future

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think maybe what this case is suggestion is maybe we're sending a signal to parents
