[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_02]: ~~Music~~

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Also get into some great material that I've come across that's maybe changed

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: my mind a little bit as to why we have some of the very significant runaway

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_02]: budgets. So we'll talk about that. Of course we have all sorts of people

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_02]: making the case that the Constitution is dangerous, so I'll give you one

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: comment and then a rebuttal to that as well. And next hour we will be

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_02]: spending our time talking with Davy Blackburn, his book Nothing Is Wasted,

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_02]: a very tragic story. So again, be ready for that. But a story of hope,

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: forgiveness and finding purpose in pain actually led to a development of a

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_02]: ministry that you may want to know about as well. And when we talk about

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the loss of his wife and the tragedies there, I think it would dovetail

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_02]: very well with some of the comments I wanted to have yesterday because

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_02]: it was of course the anniversary of 9-11. And just again going over

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_02]: some of the stories from 23 years ago, just unbelievable. And just a

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_02]: reminder that again we face pain and loss and tragedy so many different

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_02]: times, if not directly certainly through friends, neighbors,

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_02]: coworkers, family members. So we will be covering that the next hour.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: One disclaimer I'll give you and that is I had an unexpected dental

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: appointment today. I'm still wearing off anesthesia a little bit.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So if I mispronounce a word here or there, my excuse is going to be

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_02]: that I went to the dentist. I know you're going to say what's your

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_02]: excuse the other days when you make the mistakes. But nevertheless,

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: just want to have a little bit of fun with that and recognize that

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: it's still not perfect. But that's what we have to work with.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So here we go. First of all, the article by Charles Cook. I really

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_02]: appreciated that because he was very concerned that as some of the

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: people were, I think rightly pointing out the problem with ABC and

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_02]: certainly the moderators. And we mentioned those yesterday.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: There are some that say, well, it really didn't make any

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_02]: difference because Donald Trump did such a crummy job. And so first

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: of all, he starts out by saying, okay, Donald Trump did not do

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_02]: well last night. But he says, I want to complain about the

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: moderators nevertheless, because I don't think Trump would have lost

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: anyway, does anything to let them off the hook. He says, ABC's

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: management of the debate last night was a disgrace. It was a

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: scandal. It has no place in a free republic. And as others

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: observed, he says Trump was fact checking away that Harris

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: was not. He was pushed for answers in a way that Harris was

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_02]: not. And he was cast as a the problem in a way that Harris

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: was not. So go see the long list of that then gives you a

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: quote from someone in The New York Times basically saying

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't make any matters anyway. And he says, look, again, I

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_02]: can agree with some of the comments being made about

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump. But I love one of his lines that he used a

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: little bit later, you don't ignore the cracks in a bridge

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: just because you happen to dislike the person who's

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_02]: currently driving over it. That was pretty good. He says

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm outraged by the moderation nevertheless,

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: because it existed independently of Donald Trump's

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_02]: flaws. And because in a republic such as ours, it

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I am in other words outraged by the moderation per se, not

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_02]: because it's aimed at Donald Trump who says whom I

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: dislike and for whom I do not intend to vote. So again,

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: that gives you an idea that he's not exactly always

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump-er. He's pretty much a never Trump-er. But because

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I think materially altered the outcome of the debate,

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_02]: which it did not, but because the press should not be

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: doing it, especially in this particular format. And he says

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I've grown irritated with the way in which many

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: political observers have come to describe extreme media

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_02]: bias as something we just all know exists. And I think

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_02]: he's changed my mind on that, because lots of times

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: we talk about well, we know that going into a

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_02]: debate, even coming up here with JD Vance, it's

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_02]: probably going to be three against one. But we

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: shouldn't just be happy about that. And we

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: shouldn't just be resigned about that. We should

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: point that out time and time again. And this one

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_02]: was certainly a good example. And he goes on to say

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_02]: that when covering a court, one wouldn't say, well,

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_02]: the judge was corrupt, but the defendant was

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_02]: unlikable and ill-disciplined and his case was

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_02]: pretty weak anyway. So it doesn't matter. So he

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_02]: says, why are we letting the media off with

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: this? And again, he uses that great example of

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that if Republicans wish to fix that,

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: they ought to start now. You don't ignore the

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_02]: prax in a bridge because they happen to

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: dislike the person. And they need to get on this

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: immediately. Trump or no Trump, the Republican

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Party needs to start informing the media that it

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: will no longer play ball unless massive changes

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and reforms are made. No more candy-crawlies.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_02]: If you don't understand that, we mentioned that

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: yesterday, probably one of the first times you

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: started seeing the various moderators insert

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: themselves into one of the debates with

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: actually a fact check that turned out to be

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: wrong. She was wrong with her fact check, but

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll leave that for another day. No more David

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Muir's, no more selective fact checking,

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: observed framing or glaring double standards.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_02]: If the press can manage that, it gets to play

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: dress up again. Until then, the game ought to

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: be over. And I'm not sure that will be the

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: case. There are now some and I have a

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: column that is coming out tomorrow that we're

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: going to get some comments from Meryl

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Matthews and Keisha Russell about Cal Thomas

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_02]: saying it probably would be good to have a

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: second presidential debate. There are some

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: people talking about it, so we'll see where

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_02]: that takes us. But nevertheless, I think

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: there is a reason to believe that there

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: probably won't be any substantial changes in

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: the vice presidential debate between J.D.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Vance and Tim Walsh, which takes place on

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: October 1st. But we'll see. And I think

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: his point's well taken. So whether you

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: thought Donald Trump did well or not so

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: well, whether you thought this was a success

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: for Kamala Harris or not, I think this is

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_02]: a very well written piece by Charles Cook,

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: who is hardly a fan, as you can tell, of

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump. It says, wait a minute,

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that that cannot be the justification for

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_02]: why we won't pay attention to the fact

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_02]: that this is really getting out of hand.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_02]: We've gone from a time in which almost

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: everybody could point to the particular

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: situation in 2012 of Candy Crowley to

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_02]: now just assuming that there would be

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: fact checking along the way.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And I mentioned just a couple yesterday,

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: but some people like Michael Knowles and

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_02]: others that have spent even more time

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_02]: looking at this said no, there were at

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_02]: least five times in which Donald Trump

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_02]: was fact checked because one of them

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: had to do with the issue of abortion,

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: which we will again raise tomorrow in

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: our weekend edition. But I think there

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: are some very good illustrations of that.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And so just before we move on to this

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_02]: whole issue and debate about non-citizens

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: voting from this hearing that took

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: place in the House of Representatives,

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_02]: let me for just a minute when we come

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: back from the break, mention some of

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: the times where if you were to be

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_02]: fair, you should have fact check

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Kamala Harris. And I have a list of

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02]: nine that Gary Bauer created.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe there are more than that,

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_02]: but we'll just use nine because it

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_02]: illustrates again that sometimes just

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_02]: actually incorrect kind of statements

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_02]: being made. I don't know if she is

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: aware that they're wrong.

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And at that case, she's not very

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_02]: competent or that she knows they're

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_02]: wrong and she lies about it anyway.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll leave that to you.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Most people call them lies, but it's

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: not a lie of a person actually

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_02]: honestly believes it's true only to

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: find out later that what they said

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_02]: was actually incorrect.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So we'll come back.

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I just give you the short list of

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_02]: nine and then we're going to move

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: on to this really serious issue.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Of non-citizen voting.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll be right back.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_01]: This is Viewpoints with Kirby Anderson.

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Many Americans are concerned about

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_02]: the impact that social media and

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_02]: big tech are having on society.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Therefore it's not surprising that

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: a number of documentaries have been

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_02]: focusing on the problem from this

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: technology.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the most important

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_02]: documentaries to come along is the

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_02]: social dilemma.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It features an interesting blend of

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_02]: talking head interviews with various

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_02]: big tech figures and a fictional

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_02]: dramatization of what happens when

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: children and one family become

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: addicted to social media.

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Much of the discussion follows

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Tristan Harris.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_02]: He is referred to as the

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_02]: conscious of Silicon Valley.

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_02]: In the past he worked for Google

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_02]: but left because he was concerned

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: about the direction of technology

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: and decided to establish the

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Center for Humane Technology.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Near the end of the program he

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: raises the ethical and

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_02]: philosophical foundation rarely

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: discussed.

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: He concludes that if we don't

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_02]: agree on what is true and that

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: there is such a thing as truth

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_02]: we're toast.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: This is the problem beneath other

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: problems because if we can't agree

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: on what's true then we can't

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: navigate out of any of our

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_02]: problems.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You know it was a great admission

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and illustrates the foundational

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: problem confronting big tech in

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: particular and society in

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: general.

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_02]: The assumption running through this

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: video is that there is no

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: absolute truth.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Truth is relative or truth is

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: personal.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Relative ethics or post-modern

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_02]: ethics is the ethical assumption

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_02]: made when a critic expresses his

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_02]: or her own opinion.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_02]: There's no appeal to an absolute

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: standard of right and wrong.

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_02]: The problem isn't technology.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Tristan Harris described the

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_02]: technology as simultaneously

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_02]: utopia and dystopia.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_02]: The problem is the lack of an

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_02]: ethical foundation to evaluate

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_02]: it.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Kirby Anderson and that's

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: my point of view.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_01]: For a free booklet on a

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_01]: biblical view of genetic

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_01]: viewpoints dot info slash

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_01]: genetic engineering viewpoints

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_01]: dot info slash genetic

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_01]: engineering.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_00]: You're listening to Point of

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_00]: View your listener supported

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_00]: source for truth.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Back once again let's see if we

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_02]: can for just another minute or

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_02]: two talk about this idea of

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: fact checking that could have

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_02]: taken place when some of

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: these statements are made by

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Kamala Harris.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: One of those is Trump wants a

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_02]: national abortion ban.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: That's not true.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course the president former

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_02]: president has said that really

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: since Roe versus Wade was

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: overturned he thinks it

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: should be decided at the

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_02]: state level.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he was wisely pointed

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: out the fact that you know

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_02]: we're not going to get a

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: national abortion ban.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_02]: We're not going to get a

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_02]: national abortion right.

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Because it is such a divided

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_02]: issue that even bringing any

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: of this up is fallacious.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to happen and

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: it's just again a scare tactic.

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Number two Donald Trump left

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_02]: the worst unemployment since

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: the Great Depression.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually unemployment was

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_02]: six point four percent in

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_02]: January of 2021.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And this of course is after

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_02]: we've had a pandemic which

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: was nothing like the 10 percent

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_02]: under Barack Obama.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: But again those are the kind of

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_02]: lines that get made statement.

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02]: The one I mentioned yesterday

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: there's no U.S.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_02]: active duty troops in any

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_02]: combat zone anywhere around

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_02]: the world.

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: That would come as a real

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_02]: surprise to active duty troops

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_02]: in Iraq in Syria.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Some of those on ships there

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_02]: in the Mediterranean Sea.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_02]: The attacks from Houthis.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: We can go on and on.

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_02]: The Harris claim when she

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: first made I said where is

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_02]: this coming from.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump wants a 20 percent sales

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_02]: tax.

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: First of all he doesn't want a

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: sales tax.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_02]: He does want tariffs on some

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: goods but again he wouldn't

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_02]: keep those.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_02]: He wants to use the fair

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: tariffs as a weapon say you

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_02]: have tariffs on us we'll have

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_02]: tariffs on you or if you

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: drop yours we'll drop ours.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So first of all it's nothing

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: like a sales tax and that

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_02]: was I think first of all a

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_02]: comment out of left field

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_02]: what was totally inaccurate.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: The one which we've already

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_02]: talked about the other day

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump threatened a blood bath.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: No that's just a phrase used

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: to describe financial demand

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: damage.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: The Charlottesville really

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_02]: fine people.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: How many times have we

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_02]: talked about this including

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: the left of center snopes

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: saying that is wrong was

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: even debunked by the

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_02]: liberal Washington Post.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump plans to implement the

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_02]: ideas of project 2025.

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_02]: We talked about that

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: yesterday.

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That is a heritage foundation

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: project.

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_02]: He says he hasn't read it.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And if you look at the

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: plans for a Trump

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: second term there is only

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: a little bit and very

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_02]: little overlap of some

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: of the project 2025.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a statement being

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: made just to scare people

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: because nobody is going to

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: sit down and read the

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: 900 page document called

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: project 2025.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Just hearing it is

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: supposed to scare people.

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's worked.

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh that Trump would propose

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_02]: to be a dictator from day

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_02]: one if you've ever watched

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_02]: that clip where he's

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: joking back and forth with

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Sean Hannity you know

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_02]: that's not true.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And then finally that

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump disparaged fallen

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: troops that the dead

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_02]: soldiers were suckers and

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_02]: losers.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We have all sorts of

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: people that have actually

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: said no we were him the

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_02]: whole time including of

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: course the current

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: governor of the state of

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Arkansas saying no that

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_02]: was never said.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And so she continually

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_02]: repeats these various

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_02]: statements these hoaxes

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: these false statements

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: either she just doesn't

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: not know but I got to

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_02]: believe by now she

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_02]: knows and has heard

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: people respond to it.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_02]: She just says them

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_02]: anyway and we saw them

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_02]: time and time again at

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_02]: the Democratic National

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Convention and we are

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: now seeing them on one

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_02]: of the debates and I

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: don't think anything's

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: going to change because

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: they'll just keep saying

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_02]: them and I don't know

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_02]: what to say about it

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: other than that's why

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: you hopefully tune into

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_02]: point of view or you

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: check things out on

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Web's sites and of

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_02]: course there's in a few

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_02]: cases whole PragerU

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_02]: videos there's fact check

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_02]: pages that go into that

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: in some detail but let's

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_02]: get into a concern and

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_02]: that is do we have

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_02]: non-citizens voting.

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And one of the things

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_02]: that I always like to

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: point out is is that

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_02]: in my booklet I did

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: years ago and I'm probably

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: need to update that on

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_02]: a biblical view of

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_02]: voter fraud at the

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_02]: time it pointed out this

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_02]: is not a non-issue

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Heritage Foundation at

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_02]: that time had almost

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: thirteen hundred proven

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: instances of voter fraud

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and these were not even

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_02]: supposed to be

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: comprehensive most of

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_02]: them were just a list

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_02]: of people that have

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_02]: actually been brought

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: to trial and have been

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_02]: convicted of voter fraud

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: as we just learned the

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_02]: other day when you

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_02]: had an illegal immigrant

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_02]: from Guatemala plead

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_02]: guilty in a Justice

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Department case where

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: this individual falsely

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: assumed the identity of

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: a U.S. citizen and

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: illegally voted multiple

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_02]: times in elections in

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Alabama that's just one

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's one that's in

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: this second article so

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_02]: that you can read it

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: for yourself by the

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_02]: way when I start

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_02]: talking about close

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: votes that also gets

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: into the booklet I'm

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: holding up right now

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: which we've just sent

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_02]: out you should be

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: receiving it in the

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_02]: mail if you're one of

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: our truth team

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_02]: supporters but even if

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_02]: you're not you go to

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_02]: election central right

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_02]: now on the website we're

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_02]: making it available free

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: of charge you can get

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: an electronic download

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_02]: or if you'd like us to

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_02]: mail it to you you need

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_02]: to give us your address

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_02]: and we do ask if you

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_02]: could maybe make a

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_02]: donation just to cover

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the cost but we would

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_02]: love to put that in

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_02]: your hands and I

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_02]: document of course as

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_02]: we have on this

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_02]: program many times all

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_02]: sorts of close votes

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and that came up

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_02]: yesterday in this

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_02]: hearing which is a

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_02]: subcommittee of the

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: United States House of

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Representatives which

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_02]: was entitled the Biden

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Harris border crisis

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: non-citizen voting

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and the argument was

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_02]: very simple we have tens

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_02]: of thousands of non-

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_02]: citizens who are

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_02]: registered to vote

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and then have voted

[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and so here's four

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: points and you can

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_02]: read this in its

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_02]: entirety first of all

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_02]: what if it's your

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_02]: vote and it's a

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_02]: reminder that we have

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: the 1993 national

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_02]: voter registration act

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: in the 2002 help

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_02]: America vote act

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_02]: that makes it virtually

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: impossible to prevent

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_02]: non-citizens from

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_02]: registering to vote

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and so neither a

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: driver's license

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_02]: nor even a social

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_02]: security number

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: which would then at

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_02]: least provide US

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_02]: citizenship is

[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: necessary and so

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_02]: there has been a

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_02]: real push to try to

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: change that which

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll get to in just

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_02]: a minute but as you

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_02]: might imagine point

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_02]: number two here was

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_02]: the argument from the

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Democrats about this

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: is a non-issue

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_02]: representative Jerry

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Nadler said this is

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: not a widespread

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_02]: problem Republicans were

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_02]: on the false premise

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_02]: that there is

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_02]: widespread non-citizen

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: voting in order to

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_02]: advance a dangerous

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_02]: legislation like the

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_02]: SAVE Act which I'll

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: talk about in just

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_02]: a minute and you

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_02]: have Mary Gay Scanlon

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_02]: of Pennsylvania also

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Democrat accusing

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_02]: lawmakers of a

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_02]: propaganda campaign

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and really trying to

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_02]: stoke anti-immigrant

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: fear which is again

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll hold this up

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02]: when I did my

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: book booklet on

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_02]: voter fraud the only

[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_02]: examples I used were

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: of Democrats accusing

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_02]: other Democrats during

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the primary of

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_02]: voter fraud because I

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_02]: knew what would happen

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_02]: and that is anytime

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you raise voter fraud

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_02]: it's always being

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_02]: alleged that it's just

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Republicans trying to

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: prevent certain

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_02]: legitimate people from

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_02]: voting and so I just

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_02]: wanted to point out

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_02]: that let's just take

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: the Republicans out of

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: the equation for the

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: moment and the

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_02]: examples I use in

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: this booklet are just

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_02]: examples of Democrats

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: accusing other Democrats

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_02]: of actual voter fraud

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: now they were referring

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: to what's called the

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_02]: SAVE Act which stands

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_02]: for Safeguard American

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Voter Eligibility and

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: this is something that

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_02]: would just modify the

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: 1993 National Voter

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Registration Act that

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: would require proof of

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: citizenship and it

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_02]: has been amazing to me

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_02]: how many people have

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_02]: been against it one of

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_02]: those Cleed Mitchell

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_02]: was saying the reason

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that Democrats opposed

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_02]: the SAVE Act is because

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_02]: it's already illegal

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_02]: for non-citizens to

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_02]: vote in federal elections

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: but if it's illegal

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_02]: for them to not vote

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_02]: in elections it's also

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_02]: illegal for millions of

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_02]: people to come across

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_02]: the border without

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_02]: documentation and

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: obviously that is

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: happening so the

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: argument that we

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_02]: already don't allow

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_02]: citizens to vote but

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: we make it very easy

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_02]: for non-citizens to

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: vote we make it very

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_02]: easy for non-citizens

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_02]: to vote means that

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: we probably need to pass

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_02]: the SAVE Act the third

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: one was simply this

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_02]: the argument being made

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_02]: that well okay I'll

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_02]: admit maybe there's

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: some voter fraud you

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_02]: document it in your

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_02]: booklet we've documented

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: it there but it really

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't make any

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: difference it has not

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: affected any of the

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_02]: elections well that's

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_02]: where the subcommittee

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: chairman Chip Roy

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: referred to a study

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_02]: at Old Dominion

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_02]: University and George

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Mason University that

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_02]: estimated that about

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: 6.4 percent of

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_02]: non-citizens or 1.2

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: million at the time

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_02]: when that was done

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_02]: illegally voted in the

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: 2008 election now he

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: points out that that

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_02]: would have tipped the

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_02]: race in Minnesota it

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: might have even changed

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_02]: the presidential vote

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_02]: in North Carolina and

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_02]: so you have to start

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_02]: thinking that through

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_02]: which leads to the

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_02]: fourth and final point

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and that is the

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Florida Secretary of

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: State Corbett Abber

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_02]: pointed out that the

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: 2000 presidential

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_02]: election was decided

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_02]: in Florida by 537

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: votes he says

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_02]: in Miami-Dade County

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: alone which is the

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_02]: largest county in

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Florida there are over

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: 715 precincts so if

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_02]: you just had one

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: illegal citizen voting

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: in each precinct that

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_02]: would have changed the

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: outcome of that

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_02]: election so I think

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: there are some really

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_02]: important points he

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_02]: goes on to talk about

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: how Floridians have

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_02]: changed their election

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_02]: strengthen the laws and

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_02]: all the rest as I've

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_02]: said before we want to

[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_02]: make it easy to

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: vote and hard to

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_02]: cheat and I think the

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_02]: testimony yesterday

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_02]: says we still have

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_02]: work to do and we'll

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: certainly talk about

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_02]: that in the future

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_02]: let's take a break

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll come back with

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: more right after this

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_01]: many years ago they

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_01]: began saying that we

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: live in the

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_01]: information age well

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: today there is so

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: much information coming

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_01]: at us from every

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_01]: direction the hardest

[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_01]: thing is to discern

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_01]: which issues are really

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_01]: important and how can

[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I make a positive

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_01]: impact without wasting

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_01]: my time trying to

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_01]: figure out accurate

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_01]: information let me give

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_01]: you a suggestion to

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_01]: help with that visit

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_01]: point of view dot net

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_01]: look at the tabs

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: across the top find

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_01]: the one named view

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_01]: points Kirby Anderson

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: and others on our

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_01]: team are constantly

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_01]: watching for news to

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_01]: identify those issues

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_01]: that you really need to

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_01]: know about they boil

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_01]: things down in a

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_01]: brief summary and then

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_01]: you can decide if

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_01]: it's something on which

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: you want to learn more

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and get involved again

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_01]: when you go to point

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_01]: of view dot net click

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_01]: on viewpoints you'll

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_01]: see exactly what I

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_01]: mean you'll see the

[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: issues that we are

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_01]: covering right now and

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_01]: when you like what

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_01]: you see I honestly think

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: you will you can

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_01]: slide on over enter

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_01]: your email and get

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_01]: them automatically sent

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_01]: to your inbox each

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_01]: day that's it take a

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_01]: minute now be informed

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_01]: point of view dot net

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_01]: click on viewpoints

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: point of view will

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_01]: continue after that

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_01]: you are listening to

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_01]: point of view

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_01]: the opinions expressed

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_01]: on point of view do

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_01]: not necessarily reflect

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_01]: the views of the

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_01]: management or staff of

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_01]: this station and now

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_01]: here again is Kirby

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Anderson back once

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: again is the

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: constitution dangerous

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: well that's the topic

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to focus

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: on for just a few

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: minutes I've given you

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_02]: actually two articles

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_02]: one by Laura Hollis

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and one by our good

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_02]: friend Jerry Newcomb

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: is the constitution

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: dangerous and Laura

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Hollis starts off by

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: reminding us of a very

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_02]: if you will

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_02]: controversial I guess

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that's a fair statement

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_02]: a column that came out

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: by Jennifer Salazzi

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_02]: on the Constitution

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: is sacred is it

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: also dangerous

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_02]: by the way that

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_02]: particular piece that

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: came out in the

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: New York Times has

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: generated probably more

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: ink lately and more

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_02]: people have written

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: about it I'm just

[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: giving you two examples

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: which we've posted on

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_02]: our website so you can

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: read a little bit more

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: about that but again

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: you can obviously get

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: guess her conclusion

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: because the sub head

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: says one of the

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_02]: biggest threats to

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_02]: American politics

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_02]: might be the country's

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_02]: founding documents

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: okay it is amazing how

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_02]: the constitution is

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_02]: sacred for our liberal

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_02]: progressive friends

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: when the Supreme Court

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_02]: certainly rules in

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: their favor the

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: constitution is sacred

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: when it provided

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: for abortion rights

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_02]: the constitution is

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: sacred when it fights

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_02]: environmental issues

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: or civil rights issues

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_02]: whatever many of which

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_02]: are actually good ideas

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not necessarily

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_02]: disagreeing with all

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: of those but the

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_02]: point I'm making

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_02]: is that at the

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_02]: moment then it goes

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: the other way

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and we get

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Supreme Court decisions

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_02]: we don't like

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: or we get an

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_02]: individual in office

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: i.e. Donald Trump

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_02]: we don't like

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_02]: then the constitution

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_02]: is to blame

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and early on she

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_02]: makes it clear that

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: she has a problem

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_02]: not only with the

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_02]: constitution but

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_02]: the constitution

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: allowed somebody

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_02]: who should never

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_02]: have been in office

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump in there

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_02]: because she said

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_02]: not only is Donald

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump the threat

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_02]: to the constitution

[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_02]: the constitution

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: is to blame for

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_02]: his political existence

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course now

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: you know where we're

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: going with this

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and that is we have

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_02]: the popular vote

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_02]: that actually should

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: have gone to

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary Clinton

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course now

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll see what

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_02]: happens this time

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and then of course

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_02]: you have three

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Supreme Court justices

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_02]: that he was able

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: to put in there

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and they interesting

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_02]: enough were confirmed

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_02]: by senators

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_02]: that only represented

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: forty four percent

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: of the population

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: so you can see

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that very quickly

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_02]: what she's taking

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_02]: on is Article one

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_02]: the electoral college

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Article two

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: of the United States

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Senate and Article three

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: the method of selecting

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: the federal judges

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: would she like to

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_02]: get rid of all

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: the constitution

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_02]: so far she's taken out

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: the first three major

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_02]: sections of the

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_02]: constitution

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: if you take those out

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_02]: there's not a whole lot left

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: so I think you can

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of get into this

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_02]: but let's take on

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: each one very quickly

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and that is of course

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_02]: you've heard us talk

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: about before

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the electoral college

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I've written quite

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_02]: a number of commentaries

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: as a matter of fact

[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_02]: you can type my

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_02]: the word electoral college

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_02]: by going to the website

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_02]: point of view dot net

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_02]: go to the bottom there

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: there's a search engine

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: just type electoral college

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_02]: you'll get some of those

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and I remind you

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_02]: historically although

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to hear

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_02]: from Jerry Newcomb

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: in just a minute

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_02]: on that regard

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_02]: that indeed

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_02]: there was a concern

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: that large states

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_02]: like New York and Virginia

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_02]: would always determine

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_02]: who the president was

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and there would be

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_02]: no consideration at all

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_02]: for the ideas

[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and values of people

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: in say Rhode Island

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02]: or New Hampshire

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02]: other places

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course today

[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: the argument is well

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_02]: yes there's so many more

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_02]: people in California

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: where I was last week

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Illinois where

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: are going to be next week

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_02]: but they're allowed

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: to actually have a vote

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's no more

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: than the vote of say

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Wyoming or Iowa

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: or something of that nature

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Rhode Island

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and again you can see

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: the point

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and so they again

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_02]: is important

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_02]: according to one

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: legal scholar

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Edward Treminsky

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_02]: to say this important

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_02]: for Americans to see

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: that these so-called

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: failures if you will

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: stem from the

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Constitution itself

[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course I would say

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: they are not failures

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_02]: they were designed

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: there for a very good reason

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but he is arguing

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: that that is a failure

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and what ails this country

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: isn't just the president

[00:27:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the Congress

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_02]: or the Supreme Court

[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_02]: but of course it's

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_02]: everything else as well

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: so I thought it was

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of intriguing

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02]: there

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_02]: but then if you think

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_02]: about this

[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the other big

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_02]: criticisms of the

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Constitution

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and she gets into that

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: why it was dangerous

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_02]: is it's so limiting

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that is the First Amendment

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: for example

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_02]: provides freedom of speech

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: freedom of press

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: freedom of religion

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: freedom of assembly

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: of the right to petition

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: the government

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: but it limits

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: what the government

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_02]: can do

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and doesn't give it

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_02]: enough power

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_02]: to limit your free speech

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_02]: again that's not a design

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_02]: flaw

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_02]: that was intended

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_02]: about the Fourth Amendment

[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_02]: again this is a threat

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_02]: to those who would want

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: to seize your property

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_02]: remember we had this

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_02]: conversation

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_02]: a couple weeks ago

[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_02]: when we talked about

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: why we're having

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the housing issue

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_02]: we talked about

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: eminent domain

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and so again

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: we have a Fourth Amendment

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_02]: that would protect

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_02]: your property

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_02]: we have a Fifth Amendment

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and a Fourteenth Amendment

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_02]: that at least theoretically

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_02]: would prevent you

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_02]: from tossing

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: your political opponents

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_02]: into prison

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_02]: without due process

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll see how this goes

[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_02]: right now

[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_02]: in terms of some of the

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: court cases

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_02]: involving Donald Trump

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: well anyway this is a

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: four page kind of good

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: summary

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_02]: by Laura Hollis

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_02]: of the fact that

[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: there are people

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_02]: that are convinced

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_02]: that the Constitution

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_02]: is dangerous

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and I wanted to follow

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_02]: that up with of course

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_02]: one of our

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_02]: armchair historians

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe one of our

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: consulting historians

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: whatever you want to call

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Jerry Newcomb

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_02]: he's been on the program

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: many times before

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and has certainly

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_02]: studied the history

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_02]: of this government

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_02]: the history of the

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_02]: formation of

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_02]: first the declaration

[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and then the Constitution

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and again he takes on

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_02]: this very significant

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_02]: article

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_02]: is the Constitution

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_02]: dangerous

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: and again

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_02]: he says she writes

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_02]: that Americans have long

[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: assumed that the

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Constitution would save us

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_02]: a growing chorus

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: this according to

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Jennifer Salzi

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: now wonders whether

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_02]: we need to be saved

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_02]: from it

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and again of course

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: about the fact that

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump owes his

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_02]: political assent

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_02]: to the Constitution

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_02]: making a beneficiary

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: of a document

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_02]: that is essentially

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_02]: anti-democratic

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and in this day and age

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_02]: increasingly dysfunctional

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_02]: well again

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_02]: the point that you need

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_02]: to make is

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_02]: is that this is what

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_02]: it is a republic

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_02]: matter of fact

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Jerry Newcomb

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_02]: interestingly enough

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_02]: quotes from

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_02]: a documentary

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_02]: that we've promoted

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_02]: on this program

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_02]: it was a Providence Forum

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_02]: documentary

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: on the Constitution

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and one of their guests

[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_02]: is an individual

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: has been in studio with us

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_02]: also by phone

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Dennis Prager

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and he says

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Dennis Prager says

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_02]: the electoral college

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_02]: was a brilliant innovation

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_02]: of the founders

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_02]: because they didn't

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_02]: want a democracy

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_02]: they wanted a republic

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_02]: if you have any doubts

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_02]: about that

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_02]: just remember the pledge

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_02]: to the republic

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: for which it stands

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_02]: it's in the pledge

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_02]: of allegiance

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_02]: this is a republic

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not a pure democracy

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_02]: so there's a check

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: on the popular vote

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_02]: by the states

[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's why they have

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_02]: the electoral college

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_02]: he goes on

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_02]: that is Jerry Newcomb

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_02]: goes on to quote

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_02]: then James Madison

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the things I had to do

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_02]: when I was

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_02]: taking graduate level courses

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_02]: in American political theory

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_02]: first thing we read

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Federalist Paper Number 10

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and Federalist Paper Number 51

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and many others

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Federalist Paper Number 10

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_02]: written by James Madison

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: oftentimes referred to

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_02]: as the architect

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the Constitution said

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: that we have a republic

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: not a pure democracy

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: which can admit of no cure

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_02]: for its mischiefs of faction

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and again

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Jerry reminds us

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_02]: that without the electoral college

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_02]: the big cities

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and big states

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_02]: would always determine

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: who becomes the president

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the Constitution then protects

[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: the minorities

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and again

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I always am amazed

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_02]: that people say

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_02]: we need to limit

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_02]: the number of people

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: from small states

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_02]: and so I always want to say

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_02]: well then you want to get rid

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_02]: of Bernie Sanders

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: because he comes

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_02]: from a very small state

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_02]: of Vermont

[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and so again

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that is something

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_02]: that you see

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but even so

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: we have Tara Ross

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: as the author of

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: The Indispensable

[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Electoral College

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_02]: How the Founders Planned

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Saved Our Countries

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_02]: From Mob Rule

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and Enlightened Democracy

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_02]: the case for the electoral college

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_02]: and he gives us a couple of quotes

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_02]: from there as well

[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_02]: which you can read

[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_02]: talking about again

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_02]: that our constitution

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_02]: creates a government

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that's a blend of democracy

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_02]: self-governance

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_02]: republicanism

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_02]: deliberate and compromise

[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and federalism

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_02]: national versus state authority

[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_02]: so you had a horizontal

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: distribution of powers

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_02]: you had a vertical

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: distribution of powers

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and all the things

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_02]: that we've oftentimes used to teach

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I say used to teach

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_02]: in our civics classes

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: are good examples

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_02]: of why we have

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: first of all

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: a declaration of independence

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_02]: in 1776

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and a constitution

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_02]: in 1787

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: he goes on

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and gives you some other quotes

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_02]: including from

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Federalist Paper Number 51

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_02]: including a very good quote

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: from Walter Williams

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_02]: who was a professor

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_02]: at George Mason University

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and a number of others

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_02]: because it's just a reminder

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_02]: that when individuals

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_02]: don't get what they want

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_02]: there are two reactions

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: most of the time when

[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_02]: more conservatives

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_02]: don't get what they want

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: they say well

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_02]: we just need to do a better job

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_02]: of educating people

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and we'll fight on

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and hopefully win the next election

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_02]: however

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_02]: when liberals many times

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_02]: in this particular case

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_02]: so Jennifer Salze

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_02]: doesn't get what she wants

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: she says no

[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_02]: we just need to throw out

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_02]: the working manual

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: for the United States of America

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: now that would be

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the constitution

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_02]: so if you've always wondered

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_02]: is the constitution dangerous

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and wondered maybe how to answer

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_02]: some of the criticism

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_02]: you might hear

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_02]: these two articles

[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_02]: are on our website

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and I would encourage you

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_02]: to use them

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and maybe even post them

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_02]: so people can think about

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_02]: how important these issues are

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll be right back

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_00]: you're listening to Point of View

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_00]: your listener supported

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_00]: source for truth

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_02]: back once again

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_02]: let me just mention that

[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_02]: next hour we're going to have

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_02]: David Blackburn with us

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_02]: nothing is wasted

[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and if you have been

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_02]: going through difficulties

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: a tragedy

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: even just health concern

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_02]: or financial concerns

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I think this will be

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_02]: very helpful to you

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: because not only will he share

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_02]: his own experience

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and the lessons he's learned

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but we will be pointing you

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_02]: to some resources

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_02]: that I think would be very helpful

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and if you're not

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_02]: in the midst of a tragedy

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_02]: someday you probably

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_02]: will be in one

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and even if you're not right now

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_02]: you may know someone

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_02]: that is so hope

[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_02]: you'll be listening then

[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_02]: let me also just look ahead

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_02]: to tomorrow

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_02]: because we will have

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Keisha Russell back

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_02]: she has been involved

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_02]: with the various aspects

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_02]: of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: want to hear her story

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course I know

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_02]: she has a new book coming out

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: so we'll talk about that as well

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: already posted some articles

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and we'll be looking at

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_02]: not only a little bit

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: of their comments

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_02]: about the debate

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: but also of some

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: of these other important issues

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_02]: even though this is

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: a national show

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_02]: because Dr. Marathuze

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: has an article here

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_02]: about some of the Senate races

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: we probably will talk about

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: some of the Senate races

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: in various states

[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_02]: even though not everybody

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: is voting on the issue of abortion

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: there are some states

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that will be voting

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_02]: on some of these abortion initiatives

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll be talking about that as well

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: so I think you really want

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: to listen to that

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: tomorrow at Point of View

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and if you go to

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_02]: pointofview.net right now

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_02]: just essentially

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_02]: we're talking about

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the importance of voting

[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_02]: let me hold up this booklet

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_02]: that I have

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_02]: called The Importance of Voting

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and we are making it available to you

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_02]: go to Election Central today

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: you can just go down

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and click on the picture of this

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_02]: you can either get

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_02]: an immediate download

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: on PDF

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: which is quite readable

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_02]: or if you'd like to get

[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_02]: a copy of this

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: you can obviously order it

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I've noticed that

[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_02]: there are a fair number of people

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that once they get one of these

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_02]: in their hands

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_02]: they say can I get

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_02]: multiple copies

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_02]: yes you can

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_02]: of course you're going to have

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: to work that out

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_02]: with the individuals here

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: at Point of View

[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_02]: you can call our order line number

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and certainly see

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: if you'd want to get

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_02]: some of those

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_02]: to hand out to your friends

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_02]: neighbors and co-workers

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's all in the

[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_02]: right hand column

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: which is called

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Election Central

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_02]: if you scroll down one more

[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_02]: for those of you

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_02]: in the area around Peoria, Illinois

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: one last time I thought

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I would at least mention

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that we have

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: first of all

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be broadcasting live

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: from Peoria WPEO on Monday

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but on Tuesday

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: we're having a special event

[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_02]: it's at the Five Points

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Event Center

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Washington, Illinois

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_02]: and as I've said a number of times before

[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_02]: but you might just be listening

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_02]: for the first time today

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_02]: it is free

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_02]: but we need to know you're coming

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_02]: please don't show up

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_02]: at least too many of you

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: without registering

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_02]: that is always a prescription

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: for disaster

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_02]: so we'll be glad to provide

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_02]: a free lunch

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_02]: of course there's a place

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: where you can make a donation

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: if you'd like to do so

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but at least let us know

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: you're coming

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: please register

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and that is available

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_02]: at the website

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: pointofview.net

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_02]: real quickly

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_02]: just a couple of odds and ends

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to mention

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_02]: one we did get the other day

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the full publication

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_02]: of the tutor at Covenant School

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_02]: this was this individual

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_02]: that was

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess they oftentimes

[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: refer to this individual

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_02]: as a trans identifying person

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_02]: who was born a girl

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but then was very upset about this

[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and we now have some people

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: that have actually had a chance

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_02]: to read that

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't plan to be one of those

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_02]: but nevertheless

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_02]: you have Joseph Black

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_02]: back home excuse me

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_02]: he is an individual senior fellow

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_02]: for biblical worldview

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and strategic engagement

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_02]: family research council

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: said it's a heavy

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and sad subject

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_02]: but again you could really get

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_02]: an insight into this person's

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_02]: disturbing inner thoughts

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_02]: you also have a trauma counselor

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Dr. Jennifer Bowdens

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_02]: who is the director

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_02]: of center for family studies

[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_02]: also at the FRC

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_02]: saying we're both having

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_02]: we're having both a mental health

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and a spiritual crisis

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_02]: there's just not one factor

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that contributes to the problem

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_02]: from the age of six

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: this person had been

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_02]: in some kind of psychological counseling

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_02]: this woman now

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_02]: thinking that she was a man

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_02]: had all kinds of self-hatred

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: had all sorts of eating disorders

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_02]: this individual was very oppressed

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of spiritual ideas

[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_02]: quoting from this at one point

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_02]: the shooter said

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: a terrible feeling to know

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_02]: that I am nothing of the gender

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm born I'm I'm also an happy boy alive

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I wish to be dead

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate society

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_02]: society ignores to me

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_02]: uses some words

[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to use on the air

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_02]: and you can kind of get that idea

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and so a lot of these individuals

[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_02]: are feeling that way

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and I appreciate the fact

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_02]: that Jennifer Bowdens says

[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_02]: look this isn't just exclusive

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: to trans identifying individuals

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_02]: we have a health crisis in this country

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and we've talked about this many times before

[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_02]: now when you have a trans ideology

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_02]: that fuels that

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and says you're a victim

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that can take already

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_02]: a difficult situation

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and make it worse

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and then when we have so much loneliness

[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and I thought it was interesting

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_02]: in this article

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_02]: they quote from Robert Putnam

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: you've heard me quote him many times before

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: because he wrote this book

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_02]: called Bowling Alone

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and the article reminded me

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_02]: because I've never really explained

[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_02]: why did he call it Bowling Alone?

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Well he pointed out

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_02]: when he wrote that back in the mid 1990s

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_02]: that the number of people bowling

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_02]: was increasing

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but no longer in bowling leagues

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: they were bowling alone

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and he used that as a metaphor to say

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_02]: yes there's a lot of people

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_02]: still moving around

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but they're very lonely

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I had written a book at the time

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Crisis, you know

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_02]: the whole idea of crisis of loneliness

[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: is one of the chapters in

[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Signs of Warning, Signs of Faith

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_02]: in which I talked about

[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: a coming crisis of loneliness

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_02]: so that was evident back in the 1990s

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: but now it has become even worse

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_02]: because we also now have individuals

[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_02]: that are getting online

[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_02]: it's actually making them feel like

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_02]: they're actually connecting up

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: they're really not

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and my commentary today is about the

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: video Social Dilemma

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: and I hope that you will watch that as well

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_02]: because it just illustrates that

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_02]: you mix all this together

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_02]: from loneliness, social isolation

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: mental health crises

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_02]: a trans ideology

[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_02]: as well as progressive ideologies

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's just you know

[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_02]: a perfect storm

[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_02]: or it's a witch's brew

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_02]: of mixture whatever metaphor you want to use

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's the crisis we're in right now

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: which is why we'll be talking about

[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_02]: these emotional issues

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_02]: matter of fact one of the reasons

[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to be talking about

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_02]: tragedy and trauma next hour

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: with Davy Blackburn

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: just before we take a break

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought I'd also mention that

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_02]: this has sort of changed my mind

[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_02]: because Phil Graham and Jody Arrington

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_02]: say in this one article

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_02]: ask any budget expert in Washington

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: to explain the budget deficits

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and the national debt

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and they'll always mention

[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Social Security and Medicare

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I do but he goes on to say

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Social Security and Medicaid

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_02]: are drainage on the general revenue

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but that's not the real issue

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the real driver

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_02]: the elephant in the room

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_02]: which is oftentimes invisible I guess

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_02]: is what's called

[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_02]: means-tested social welfare spending

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that's Medicaid, food stamps

[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_02]: refundable tax credits

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_02]: supplemental security income

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_02]: temporary assistance for needy families

[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_02]: federal housing

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_02]: subsidies and about a hundred other programs

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and so the argument that they make is

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: is that some of these

[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_02]: can be solved by going back

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_02]: to having a work requirement

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_02]: we've done this before

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_02]: certainly during the Clinton administration

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and it was a success

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_02]: they require that you

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_02]: if you are able-bodied

[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_02]: to actually work

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_02]: or to be looking for work

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: as I've heard

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_02]: if you heard me say before

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_02]: seven million young men

[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: aren't working

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and not looking for work

[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_02]: there's something seriously wrong with that

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and so there's some really great insight

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_02]: in that particular article

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: showed up in the Wall Street Journal

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll probably come back to it again

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: in the future

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's just a reminder that

[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_02]: sometimes when we look for

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_02]: what is causing our budget deficits

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and our increasing national debt

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_02]: we have to look at more

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_02]: than just Social Security and Medicare

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and I thought that was a very helpful article

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and it kind of changed my mind

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_02]: so I thought I'd pass that on to you as well

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to take a break

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and let me again encourage those of you

[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_02]: that are interested

[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_02]: to you go to viewpoints, commentary

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: the election central

[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_02]: and those of you in Illinois

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_02]: let us know if you're going to come

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: because I'd love to see you next Tuesday

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to take a break

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll be back with more

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_02]: right after this

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_01]: The Bible tells us not to worry

[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_01]: and yet there is a lot of worrying stuff

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_01]: in our world today

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_01]: thankfully the Bible doesn't stop

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_01]: at telling us not to worry

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_01]: God gives us a next step

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_01]: he says we need to pray

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_01]: but sometimes even knowing what to pray

[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_01]: can be difficult

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and that is why Point of View

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_01]: has relaunched our Pray for America movement

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_01]: a series of weekly emails

[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_01]: to guide you in prayer for our nation

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_01]: each week you'll receive a brief update

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_01]: about a current issue affecting Americans

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_01]: along with a written prayer

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_01]: that you can easily share with others

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_01]: we'll also include a short free resource

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_01]: for you in each email

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_01]: so you can learn more about the issue at hand

[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_01]: will you commit to pray for America?
