[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: God's Not Dead is part of the Gods Not Dead series, but it has the title In God We Trust.

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_00]: We come back to our friend Michael Scott, who is the CEO of Pinnacle Peak Pictures as well as Pure Flix,

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: an individual that has certainly produced a whole series of films in the Gods Not Dead franchise,

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: as well as Do You Believe? The Case for Christ and others,

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_00]: an individual that certainly has brought a lot of good, honest, and faith-affirming material to the screen.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It's always important for us to let you know what you can do to send a signal to Hollywood and other film producers that you would like to have more of those.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_00]: This particular one had a chance to see some of the interviews that were done by Mike Huckabee on his program with David White and also Scott Baio.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice endorsement that Mike Huckabee said, I've run political campaigns.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, he ran for governor and ran for president. It really had some authenticity there.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Since we're in the political season, it couldn't be more appropriate.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Michael, welcome back to Point of View.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for having me on, Korea. This is wonderful to be on today.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's see what we can first of all recognize that it's coming out tomorrow.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: As always, we want to encourage people to go.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: We have a link on a couple of places here.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_00]: We have, first of all, a link to GodsNotDead.com.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the general place you can sign up for tickets.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: We have another one, Pinnacle Peak.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We have all sorts of places to click.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: In any place, you can hit the button that says Get Tickets.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: You can begin to see where in your community there will be showing.

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You can also watch the trailers.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_00]: The first action item for all of our listeners is to learn more.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Then go and maybe bring some people with you.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Give us a background to the film itself.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: As I understand from certainly watching the videos and some of the other material,

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: that you have a pastor, David Hill, who's really struggling with whether or not he should even be involved in politics.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But you have the state senator, Peter Kane, who's trying to drive religion out of the public square.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_00]: You have a novice running for political office against a machine.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I think people can begin to understand all the different nuances that surface in the film.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Tell us more.

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_02]: This film was unique.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We started this film two years ago, so you never know what's going to be happening in the political climate.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I say, I guess God just had a time such as this for this film.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: This film, really, David White plays it.

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He plays the character Reverend David Hill in this.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: He is struggling with should he run against Peter Kane.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Peter Kane is really running on a platform that wants to stamp God out of the government, out of the public square,

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: out of all the different areas of our life.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He really feels the call to go do it.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Then when he stands up to go do it, the world comes against him, everything.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: He's got these incredible ups and downs as he's navigating this new political world and what he should do.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's constantly every turn.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He feels like he's at a point he doesn't want to compromise, and they're asking him to compromise.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't talk so much about God.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't do this.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't do that.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_02]: All of these things, so you get to experience with this character the high points and the low, low points of this.

[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I think this movie is timely because in the God's Not Dead series, we've talked about in the very first one the existence of God.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Does God really exist?

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: The second one, was it Jesus?

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was he?

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Was he man, myth or Messiah?

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Put him, a teacher that was coming in.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_02]: This one we're dealing with, does God have a place in the public square?

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we really answer that question here in this movie, and I think people will be thoroughly entertained.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Again, when you're talking about the state senator, Peter Cain, you're talking about an individual that's pretty harsh.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes individuals want to find ways to move religion out of the public square, but in this particular case,

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_00]: it's pretty much a cage match kind of experience because he's pretty intense.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: In some respects, that helps especially some of our listeners understand what we will be seeing in the future.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: This last hour, we just talked with Jeff King about persecution and some of the things that are happening right now

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: in terms of religious liberty in places like California and Texas and other places.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_00]: In some respects, you're going to get not only given people an inside look at what a campaign looks like,

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: but you're sort of prophetic into if we don't turn some things around,

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_00]: it's going to be a battle a lot like what you see in the film.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and that's exactly. I think real life is mimicking the film right now.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the things that was so interesting about this film is we did it.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I learned that 40 million Christians do not vote in presidential elections.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I hear so often from myself and just everybody, we want to see our country change,

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm like if we want to see it change, brought back to God,

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: because I believe the only person that's going to heal our country,

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not going to be an individual on either side. It's going to be God.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: If we put God at the center, that's how we heal our nation in the divide.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think if we as Christians, we have to get out there and we have to stand for what we believe,

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: stand up for the rights, and that's really the rally cry of this film.

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_00]: One of the other things I thought I just might mention before we take a break is

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: there are some might be saying, okay, watching a political campaign,

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: that may not be quite as interesting, but there are guest appearances by Mike Huckabee,

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: actually going on the Huckabee show, and the Newsboys and some others.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So for people that are thinking, well, it might be kind of more like a documentary,

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_00]: a little dry, I don't necessarily want to bring my kids to it.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of elements of that that would certainly appeal to every age group, wouldn't there?

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely. There's great drama in this film.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: If you've watched any of the other God's Not Dead films, I think this might be the best one in the series.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But whether you're a believer or not, I think this creates great talking points.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: You're going to cry with the characters.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You're going to fall in love with them.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: You're going to laugh with them, experience the victory.

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is not a documentary.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a really interesting drama, and you see it coming to life and what this is like,

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think people will enjoy it of all ages.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to take a break.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me just mention, first of all, as we go to the break, we have the trailer,

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_00]: and that one is very easy to watch.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: It's about two-and-a-half minutes.

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: It actually opens up with a statement from Ronald Reagan.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, we've encouraged some of you to go to the Ronald Reagan film,

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and it begins and ends on the trailer with Ronald Reagan talking about some very important issues.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to know about tickets, you can click on that button that says Tickets,

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and you can begin to see, starting tomorrow all the way through the next couple of weeks,

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: the opportunity for you to get individual tickets if you would want to do so.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Or let me encourage you, as I oftentimes have, get a group together.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: We've done this with our Sunday school class many times where we get enough people in our Sunday school class

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_00]: to go along that we pretty much take over that whole particular theater,

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: and that gives us a chance to then afterwards go out to eat

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and talk through some of the implications of the film.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you'd like to know a little bit more, of course we have links to, of course, godsnotdead.com.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good place to go.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And then we've also taken the time to also focus on pinnaclepeakpictures.com.

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Both places will give you that, but you can also kind of get a synopsis of the film.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You can find out about some of the people in the cast, which is kind of a who's who of individuals,

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: many of whom you've seen before in some of the other films that have been part of the Gods Not Dead series.

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's take a break and we'll come back, get into maybe the broader context of all of these films

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: because this franchise has been so effective.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And how could we use those in terms of our own personal ministry?

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll talk about that with Michael Scott right after this.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_01]: This is Viewpoints with Kirby Anderson.

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_00]: One striking difference between Europe and America has been the temptation,

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: many European countries to fall into totalitarianism.

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Dennis Prager reminds us that after World War I, many of these countries embraced communism, fascism or Nazism.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And there's a very good reason why.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: The primary beliefs that give rise to meaning in life were patriotism and the Judeo-Christian religion.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_00]: The senseless slaughter during the Great War, as it was called, challenged both of these foundations.

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: National identity was seen as the cause of the war,

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and religion was deemed unnecessary and perhaps a relic of the past.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_00]: This void was left filled with communism in Russia, fascism in Italy and Nazism in Germany.

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: In the U.S., there were communists and many other activists promoting their totalitarian temptations,

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: but they never took root.

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Americans did not lose their faith in religion, especially in Christianity.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Patriotism not only flourished, but Dennis Prager reminds us that the words under God

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: were even inserted into the Pledge of Allegiance recited daily in American schools.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: But the baby boomers born after World War II began to challenge God and country.

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: These students were indoctrinated into secularism and anti-Americanism.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: The generations that followed them grew up in a country that was less religious

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and more likely to criticize America's government and history.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Today we have a void that is similar to the one found in Europe a century ago.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Most likely, the totalitarian temptation today will be a leftist totalitarianism

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: that promotes leftist political correctness and bans free speech and religion.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: There are many reasons to pray for a spiritual revival,

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: but one of the more important reasons is to prevent this country from falling for the totalitarian temptation.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm Kirby Anderson, and that's my point of view.

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_01]: For a free booklet on a biblical view of genetic engineering, go to Viewpoints.info slash genetic engineering.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Viewpoints.info slash genetic engineering.

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You're listening to Point of View, your listener-supported source for truth.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Back for a few more minutes with, again, the founding partner and CEO of Pinnacle Pictures and Pure Flix, Michael Scott.

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And, Michael, you know, my commentary right now is the totalitarian temptation.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Didn't plan that, but when you think of the whole series right now of God's Not Dead,

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: one of an atheist professor trying to prevent any student from believing in God and having a big debate about that.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, you talked about the other film having to do with whether or not Jesus was a myth or a legend or whatever it might be.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And in this one, the place of Christianity in the public sphere,

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_00]: in some respects those are films to address the fact that we are seeing a growing opposition to Christian ideas in the public square.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: We've been seeing it for some time in the academy.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_00]: We've seen it in media, but we're also seeing it in politics, aren't we?

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's prevalent.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, since we did that first God's Not Dead ten years ago, it was there then, and I've seen it ramped up.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And I do think our last film that we did on God's Not Dead, we were talking about freedom of speech, education, and all of that in that film.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's all at stake.

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's why I think this election coming up that we have and what this movie is representing and has a strong message on is exactly what people need to hear right now.

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And they need to get out.

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I say God's given you a voice.

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: He's given us a vote.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's go out and use it and change our country and bring it back to God,

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and let's get rid of that totalitarianism thing that's been percolating for years, maybe decades it's been coming,

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's time for us to stand up and take it back.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I've just finished writing a booklet that deals with censorship and free speech,

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and really even trying to articulate does the Bible allow for free speech.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, first of all, the Bible tells us to use speech.

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: God spoke the universe into being.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: We are to speak truth to friends and neighbors with evangelism and encouragement.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_00]: We're to pray.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: That's using speech.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And then, of course, we have the opportunity to have speech in a public arena.

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So in some respects, your film is, of course, looking at politics, but it's looking at the broader issue,

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_00]: because one of the things, Michael, I say is politics is really downstream from culture,

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and certainly we can solve some of these problems politically,

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: but I think this is the struggle that Reverend David Hill has.

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, do I preach the gospel, and do I really call believers to repentance and disciple believers,

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_00]: or do I get involved in the political sphere?

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think he finally reels out it's not either or, it's both and,

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_00]: and that's, I think, what we're going to have to do in the future, aren't we?

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I totally agree.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_02]: If you look throughout the Bible, you can see all different people getting involved in the politics,

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: speaking to their king.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Throughout the Bible, it's in there.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I don't think there's a – they talk about the separation of church and state.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: That was really to keep the state out of the church, not the church being involved in the state.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And so it was – it is our faith, that's what this country was founded on, our Christian beliefs.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that we're slowly trying to do revisionist history, try and remove that every corner,

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's what this movie really takes a stand against, saying no, this is who we were,

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_02]: this is who we are, we're not going to change that, and truth is not relative to the times.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Truth is the truth.

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's where I think this movie really dives into that.

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_02]: You get into some heated debates in the movie, which are great fun too.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's not just heavy, but it's fun to kind of watch these characters play out.

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think people too, as they experience this film,

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_02]: they're going to take away some great facts and things that they can really apply,

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_02]: whether it be in their church, conversations they have, and all these different things,

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_02]: to really live this out.

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go ahead and talk about how maybe churches can use this,

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_00]: because first of all you have God's not dead, and of course that's available on Apple TV

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and YouTube and Prime Video and Pure Flix and all sorts of things.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the second one about a high school teacher being asked a question about Jesus.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Then you of course have the one about a light in the darkness, which is kind of interesting.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Is the church the building or is the church the people?

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And then of course this idea of we the people and in God we trust.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So talk about that, because each one of those could be shown in a Sunday school class

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_00]: or clips could be used in a sermon illustration, a Sunday school, a small group.

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_00]: So talk about how maybe some people are already using some of the other films.

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we've seen it across the nation, people using these films,

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: showing them whether it be in a small group or in a church meeting

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: and then talking about the things afterwards, because each film deals with a particular issue.

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people say, well, of course they believe God exists.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But do we really know the facts to support that?

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's what this film kind of brings to life.

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: But not only brings it to life, but brings it in an entertaining fashion in the first one.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But in this one we're going to really see does God truly have a place in the public square?

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Should we stand for what we believe?

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_02]: What was our nation founded on?

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: All of these things, and I think those can be turned into great clips for your church.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Watch the whole film.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And there's great study points on there that you can pull from the Bible

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and marry them to the film that I think people will be really touched by.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's a fun experience because sometimes also you can take your church to the theater.

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I find churches across America, when they ask their members in the church,

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_02]: say, hey, let's go to the thing and ask a friend to come that doesn't go to church.

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's so much easier to get them to go to the movie theater.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And it can be a great jumping off point to get them in church as well.

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think these films are phenomenal tools for that.

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And again, the friends that you are inviting, but probably some of the people in the church,

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_00]: probably still believe that the separation of church and state is in the Constitution

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_00]: and don't know some of the background and won't learn that probably by picking up a booklet,

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_00]: although I do have a booklet on that which we make available for free to anybody

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_00]: that's really wondering where that phrase comes from.

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It comes from, of course, Thomas Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptist,

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's not in the Constitution.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't intended to be there.

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_00]: But you will probably learn more by watching a film.

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And so everybody is ready to watch a film.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And, of course, we have the whole God's Not Dead series.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You can click on that button that says Past Films

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and have access to a whole series that have come out.

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I appreciate the fact, Michael, that you've been on this topic

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and various aspects of this topic for some time.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm looking forward to the fact that this one will be out tomorrow.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And I want to encourage as many people as possible to go and to watch it

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and to invite a friend.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So thank you for being with us today here on Point of View.

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I appreciate it, Kirby.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope everybody gets out this weekend.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Go enjoy, get some popcorn, enjoy an awesome, entertaining film

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that you're going to learn some great stuff from.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And I also say, since this movie is so pointed right now, get out and vote as well.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're going to take.

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I hope people take from this message.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_02]: We can stand up for what we believe, and we can turn this country back around.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So thank you so much for having me on.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Michael.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me just mention again we have a place for you to get some tickets.

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Since he mentioned that, let's talk about a couple of things.

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_00]: First of all, we have the Election Central, and that is a resource.

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_00]: We haven't posted too many voter guides because most of the ones coming out right now are just for primaries,

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_00]: although I did notice the other day they put out the voter guides for our friends in Hawaii.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But there are going to be quite a few.

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_00]: If you have not received a copy of my The Importance of Voting booklet,

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_00]: we now have that posted on the website.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So even if you don't have the actual copy, you can get a digital copy.

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You can either click on an instant download or you can receive it by mail.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: We actually suggest a donation just to cover some costs there as well.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And, of course, we will be talking this Friday with Keisha Russell.

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And almost always we have somebody from First Liberty,

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and we have now put a nice link to First Liberty's Election Resource Center.

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So that would be helpful to you.

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But also we thought that it would be appropriate for you to watch this video about voting your biblical duties.

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So that is there as well, and that comes from our good friends at Coral Ridge.

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And so you can find out a little bit more about all of those things by either going to Election Central

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_00]: or just simply looking at the Take Action item in our video, which we have there as well.

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Underneath the Election Central, one more time I thought I'd mention that I will be up in Illinois next week.

[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_00]: We will be doing a special broadcast on Monday from our friends at WPEO.

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll be broadcasting from there on Tuesday, September 17th at Five Points Events Center, Washington, Illinois.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_00]: There is an opportunity for you to have lunch with us.

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And the tickets are free, but we need to know that you are coming.

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So if you have not signed up for that, click on that big banner that says Events Registration,

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and then click on the one having to do with Peoria.

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, there are some other places we're going to be.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_00]: As a matter of fact, I just heard of another place I'm going to be later this fall.

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So there are going to be some great opportunities for us to meet you face-to-face.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So take the time to get some of the information.

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, we've had an interview with our friend Jeff King and International Christian Concern.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Then, of course, Michael Scott of God's Not Dead, One Nation Under God.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_00]: And I would certainly want to encourage you to find some of that material.

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_00]: But when we come back from the break, a very good piece from our friends at The Wall Street Journal,

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Why Americans Are Sour on the Economy.

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to show you a graph again.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So those of you that have access to a computer or watch us either on our live feed or on Facebook,

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_00]: you might want to get there because I want to show you a graph.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_00]: But again, I'll try to describe it for those of you just listening on radio.

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I've oftentimes said a graph is just like a picture.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes it's worth a thousand words.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Talk about that right after this.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_01]: At Point of View, we believe there is power in prayer.

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And that is why we have relaunched our Pray for America campaign,

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_01]: a series of weekly emails to unite Americans in prayer for our nation.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Imagine if hundreds of thousands of Americans started praying intentionally together on a weekly basis.

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_01]: You can help make that a reality by subscribing to our Pray for America emails.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Just go to pointofview.net and click on the Pray for America banner that's right there on the homepage.

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Each week you'll receive a brief news update, a specific prayer guide,

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: and a free resource to equip you in further action.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_01]: We encourage you to not only pray with us each week,

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_01]: but to share these prayers and the resources with others in your life.

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Join the movement today.

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Visit pointofview.net and click on the banner Pray for America right there at the top.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_01]: That's pointofview.net.

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's pray together for God to make a difference in our land.

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Point of View will continue.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You are listening to Point of View.

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_01]: The opinions expressed on Point of View do not necessarily reflect the views of the management or staff of this station.

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And now, here again is Kirby Anderson.

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Final half hour, let's see if we can talk about your financial situation.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you've been out on the Internet at any length in time,

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and I don't care if you've been watching something on TikTok or Instagram or YouTube or X,

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_00]: you no doubt have seen some videos where an individual is usually holding a smartphone

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and basically crying and saying,

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm working as hard as I can and I can't make ends meet.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And the response that has come from the Biden administration,

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_00]: the Bidenomics, and even now from Kamala Harris is it's not that bad.

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it was helpful that you have this very effective and well-written piece

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_00]: from the Wall Street Journal, Why Americans are Sour on the Economy.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm going to show a chart in just a minute that Karen put together and Steve will post,

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_00]: but let me give you the background to it first.

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And that is they start out by saying Kamala Harris says that the Biden administration rescued the U.S. economy.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: The truth is the Biden inflation has left most Americans worse off than they were before the pandemic.

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_00]: The latest evidence comes from Tuesday's Census Bureau report on household income, poverty and health coverage.

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So this is the latest that just came out.

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And what they certainly conclude is that if you look at the median inflation adjusted household income,

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_00]: it increased for the first time since 2019.

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But that's the only good news.

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And it didn't increase enough.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll get to that in just a minute.

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_00]: The real median earnings for full-time workers last year actually declined by 1.6 percent,

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and even more so for high school grads.

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_00]: This means inflation outpaced wage gains for most low-wage workers.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And so that certainly is the case.

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And so the upshot is this.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_00]: The real median household income remains lower than it was in 2019 and has barely grown since 2020.

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And you can begin to see now the striking contrast between the Trump presidency and the Biden presidency.

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's put the chart up.

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And for those of you that can watch it, you can see that the blue actually shows what was happening in terms of real median income growth under the Trump administration.

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And you can see that it grew dramatically for white, black, Asian and Hispanic.

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_00]: But then when you look at the green, looks from 2020 to 2023, you see that it did not grow that much.

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's get a little more specificity.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So if you want to get the numbers, you can begin to follow it.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Certainly during Donald Trump's administration, 2016 to 2019, incomes climbed for Asians by $14,000, for whites by $8,900,

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Hispanics $6,900 and blacks $4,500.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So everybody gained during that time.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_00]: The gains later during the Biden administration were, to put it mildly, more modest.

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_00]: $1,500 for Asians, $850 for whites, $700 for Hispanics, $2,600 for blacks.

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you think about this, because COVID reduced incomes in 2020, this comparison, they said, if anything, flattens the Biden record even more.

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So the point we're making is that if you look at median household income, we know that prices went up.

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_00]: At one point they were actually telling us that inflation was at 9%.

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I've told you before that I think if you did a comparison of the way we measured inflation in the 1970s,

[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_00]: before we made the changes in the Consumer Price Index, many people suggest it could have been as high as 16%.

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And even now, when it's a few percentage points, probably would have been much higher by almost double.

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And so you're talking about the fact that while the prices are going up, and of course asset prices are going up,

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_00]: that's just houses, stock, things like that, the wages are not.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And so there are people following further and further up behind in that.

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, again, one of the other things that's in this article, which I would encourage you to look at and read,

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_00]: is that then in the midst of all of this, the administration, they said, is trying to put a shiny gloss on the report.

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: They said, quote, today's report shows we are making real progress towards the middle class.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And I love how the editors of The Wall Street Journal say, talk about defining progress down.

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_00]: We used to talk about defining deviancy down, defining progress down.

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: America's middle class has seen their incomes after inflation stagnate during the Biden presidency.

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So when you hear last night and when you hear over the next 50 plus days that this particular candidate, Donald Trump,

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_00]: this particular candidate, Kamala Harris, wants to help the middle class, it is very reasonable to say, by doing what?

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Because the argument that you're going to get a middle class tax cut is, I think, somewhat fallacious on the part of the Harris program

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_00]: that's on the web page, although she says it every day.

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And the argument being made right now is that Donald Trump wants to continue the Trump tax cuts that were implemented years ago.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But you can go through all of this in more detail.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: But it reminds me once again of the fact that we're actually trying to even get to a point where we're not spending so much money.

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So we're not printing more money because the more money you print, the more inflation you have and the greater and greater wage gap taking place.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_00]: They conclude by simply saying this. The census report explains why so many Americans are sour on the Biden economy.

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_00]: The facts back them up. Well, that's enough of that chart.

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_00]: But let me now, if I can also talk about another aspect of this.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And this actually comes from a man by the name of Scott Galloway.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll hold this book up for those of you looking for those of you that are certainly under the age of 40.

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Certainly those under the age of 30. This is called The Algebra of Wealth, a Simple Formula for Financial Security.

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm not necessarily in the book. I've thought about trying to even get him on the program.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_00]: If we did, I've watched enough TED Talks to know that Megan would have to be close to the swear button because he does have a tendency to pop off with one every once in a while, which would get me in trouble with the FCC.

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_00]: But he's got some great material and it's endorsed by a lot of people that I think of, including Lynn Alden, who I've wanted to get on in terms of her book on broken money.

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's interesting because if you go back to one of my commentaries, again, you find me quoting one of my commentaries back in May.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I pointed out that Scott Galloway, who is a professor of marketing at New York University and in the business school, who has not only written the book Algebra of Wealth, but also in a recent TED Talk, used this illustration.

[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And he said, Do you love your kids? Oh boy, that got everybody's attention.

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_00]: He said, Look, the last two generations are making less money on an inflation adjusted basis.

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_00]: He argues basically that the social contract in America is broken because for the first time in U.S. history, a 30-year-old is no longer doing as well as his or her parents were at 30.

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_00]: One of these days, maybe I'll get invited to the Millennial Roundtable and talk about some of this, although I suspect they can do quite fine without me.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_00]: But that's why you have so many young Americans very frustrated about the future of this country, and they have every reason to do so.

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, his argument is that those frustrations come out in ways that aren't necessarily economic, but they're fueled by that.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_00]: He says some of these incendiary movements like the BLM riots and the pro-Hamas protests are part of that.

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you again look at his graphs, you will see what, of course, we've all talked about before.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And that is that this results not only in economic problems and a growing wage gap, but also you can also see what we've talked about with the book by Jonathan Haidt in terms of rates of self-harm go up, rates of depression increase.

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Also, he says that when I was in high school, teenagers died because of drunk driving.

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Today they're killing themselves because of suicide.

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's also an explanation for why not only do they harm themselves, but sometimes with the school shooting we talked about earlier in the week, they harm others as well.

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And these are trends that didn't catch anybody off guard.

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I wrote a book 30 years ago which was entitled Signs of Warning, Signs of Hope, in which I said, you know, some of these trends are going in the wrong direction.

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And I had a crisis of security and a crisis of loneliness and all of the rest.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Because the point I was making is if these asset prices keep going up, that's the price of stocks and bonds and the price of homes and even jewelry and fine art and those kinds of things, but the wages don't keep up with that, we're going to have a phenomenon which I described.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And that is the builder generation, those born before the end of World War II.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_00]: They sent dad off to work, mom stayed home, they had kids and most went to church.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Then the baby boom generation had two people working, but they had trouble buying a house.

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_00]: When we come back, we'll talk about what the current generations are dealing with.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_00]: All that coming up right after this.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_01]: You're listening to Point of View, your listener-supported source for truth.

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I've left out some of the things on health coverage because that did surface last night, but just very briefly.

[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_00]: It is worth an entire discussion which we'll probably have here in the future on Point of View.

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But the point I was making just real quickly is that we are seeing a decline from one generation to the next.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_00]: The builder generation, of course, those born before the end of World War II.

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Dad went to work, mom stayed home, you had the so-called nuclear family, had kids, went to church, did relatively well financially.

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_00]: The baby boom generation, born between 1946 and 1964, did have now many times two parents working,

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_00]: had a more difficult time buying a home but was able oftentimes to do so,

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and may or may not have gone to church, and now are passing more and more of that on to the next generation as they are dying off.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And, of course, the latest generations have both husband and wife working, aren't sure they will ever have kids,

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: are pretty much sure that they will never afford a home, and they don't go to church.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_00]: The point is that some of that's economic, but some of it also is spiritual as well that we've talked about.

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think it is a good summary of where we find ourselves in the economy and in our culture.

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And that is why, again, can we solve some of these problems? Yes, we can.

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_00]: There are very good ideas, as a matter of fact, for all of his inability to keep on any kind of sustained thought.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Donald Trump has talked about some of these strategic reserves.

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: He's talked about this efficiency commission and wanting to put very qualified people in some places to fix those.

[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But, again, you can't get a solution if you don't acknowledge a problem.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And even as I mentioned yesterday, sometimes what we have is a really remarkable situation in which we have the wrong diagnosis.

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you have the wrong diagnosis, you certainly are going to come up with the wrong prescription.

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But in some cases, especially when it comes to the national debt, nobody even wants to admit that that's a problem.

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And we know that it is.

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_00]: When you have as much interest this next fiscal year, which will be larger than the entire defense budget,

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_00]: we're talking about everyone in arms, all the military, all the Pentagon,

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and our interest on the debt is going to be more than the Defense Department, we've got a problem.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And yet nobody wants to even talk about it.

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_00]: How many times did that come up in the debate last night?

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I think the answer to that would be what? Zero.

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And it illustrates again why we sometimes are not electing serious people to office.

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I said it before, I do believe we need to get a better class of politicians.

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_00]: We need to get some statesmen there.

[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And I can think of some.

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_00]: We've interviewed them before.

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Ben Sasse said, I'm not going to run.

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_00]: He's, of course, up until recently was the president of the University of Florida.

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Mike Pompeo, I think he might have run, but he said, I'm not going to run against Donald Trump.

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And yet I think he would make a great commander in chief.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Ron DeSantis ran, but he was not even a viable candidate by the time I got to vote.

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So there you are.

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to find some quality individuals and cultivate them first at the state level and the national level,

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_00]: that's what we need because, indeed, there are some things that can be addressed

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and should be addressed that are simply not being addressed in a country that is going the wrong direction.

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's just not my opinion.

[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's the opinion really expressed by so many people in some of the recent Gallup polls.

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: But just before we end, I wanted to talk about the dog that didn't bark.

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not talking about dogs at the moment.

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_00]: That came up last night.

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But the fact is that you have leftists who won't bark.

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And it comes to this.

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Bernie Sanders, the other day, I quoted from him, he's a senator from Vermont,

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and he actually on one of the talk shows said, look, I don't think Kamala Harris is abandoning her ideals.

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I think she's trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it sort of let the cat out of the bag, if you want to use that illustration.

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_00]: He sort of let people see.

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_00]: He let the mask slip.

[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But he's not the only one.

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Those of you in Georgia, your Senator Raphael Warnock was asked the other day if Kamala Harris is going to be supporting this idea of a mandatory buyback of guns.

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And he said, listen, we're not going to be able to get to where we need to without action in Congress.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So we've got to pass some laws first.

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But basically, what he was saying, yeah, we probably will, but they just aren't going to talk about it right now.

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And that, I think, is what some people have called the dog that won't bark or the leftist that won't bark.

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Because think about this.

[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Kamala Harris over the last couple of weeks has really changed her mind theoretically on some of those issues.

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_00]: One of those is fracking.

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, obviously, the people that are climate activists are very upset about fracking and obviously say that's reason to vote against Donald Trump.

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But now you have Kamala Harris saying she is no longer going to ban fracking.

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And have you heard anybody screaming about that, criticizing her?

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_00]: No, pretty quiet.

[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_00]: You have individuals who are now hearing Kamala Harris say, you know, we're going to build a wall.

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember how many people were upset about Donald Trump building a wall?

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Where are those people now who oftentimes believe in open borders, believe that we should provide more opportunities for people in Latin America and around the world?

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And I haven't heard many of them screaming or complaining either.

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think the implication, at least Gary Bauer says this, is presumably because Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Raphael Warnock believe that really we just need to tell everybody to be quiet.

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just an act.

[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a ruse in order to get elected.

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Because if they really thought she was serious, I don't think they would be able to shut up some of those individuals that I know would be complaining right now.

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's kind of interesting to see that maybe the lack of complaints, the lack of outrage on the part of individuals who are certainly supporting Kamala Harris,

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe have been getting the memo just saying, look, we're going to say all sorts of things during the election.

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But the moment she's elected, everything will change.

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And so, again, I'll make that prediction.

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Also make another prediction.

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I doubt she's going to sit down for many other interviews, maybe one or two just to look like she's doing something.

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And I've also thought that there's at least a possibility that Joe Biden might decide to step down and then she would actually be sworn into office and she'd be in the Oval Office when she's then running for president in November.

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a possibility.

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And just an illustration again that we are in just uncharted territory.

[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So I hope you'll listen to us every single day here on Point of View.

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me just mention tomorrow in the second hour, we're going to be talking about this book by David Blackburn.

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: David Blackburn has written a book called Nothing is Wasted, and really helping those of you that have struggled with trauma, some kind of tragedy, maybe some kind of major life tradition or transition or something that has affected you in a negative way, that maybe God can use that.

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_00]: As a matter of fact, I'm sure God can use that.

[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to be talking about that.

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Because in addition to some of these economic issues, we also believe it's going to be important for us here on Point of View to address many of those emotional issues.

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_00]: By Friday, I'm sure we'll have some other comments about the debate and we'll know a little bit more.

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Did it move the needle at all on some of these polls?

[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.

[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But first of all, I want to encourage you to go to the website, find some of the material we've posted, and especially this particular article, Why Americas are Sour on the Economy.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Megan, thank you for engineering the program today.

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Steve, thank you for producing the program.

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Karen, thank you for posting some of those graphics.

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And we will see you back here tomorrow right here on Point of View.

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_01]: It almost seems like we live in a different world from many people in positions of authority.

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_01]: They say men can be women and women men.

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_01]: People are prosecuted differently or not at all depending on their politics.

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Criminals are more valued and rewarded than law-abiding citizens.

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It's so overwhelming, so demoralizing.

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You feel like giving up, but we can't.

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_01]: We shouldn't.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_01]: We must not.

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_01]: As Winston Churchill said to Britain in the darkest days of World War II, never give in.

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Never give in.

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Never, never, never.

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Never yield to force.

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we say to you today.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_01]: This is not a time to give in, but to step up and join Point of View in providing clarity in the chaos.

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_01]: We can't do it alone, but together with God's help, we will overcome the darkness.
