[00:00:04] Across America, Live, this is Point of View, Kirby Anderson. Second hour today, we want to spend some time first of all talking about a conference that you can attend online. I think you will really benefit from this and we have information about that and our guest on the website pointofview.net.
[00:00:32] Our good friend Ann Edward, probably best known to you as Ann Palk, is the Executive Director and Board Member of Restored Hope Network. That really is a coalition of about 50 different ministries, pastors and other individuals, including counselors and therapists, who are working with individuals who are dealing with unwanted LGBT issues in their lives that align with their values. You might remember Ann's own testimony left lesbianism 40 years ago.
[00:01:01] She's been on this program many times as well, been on, of course, Focus on the Family, Family Talk, Good Morning America, Coral Ridge 700 Club and many others. So, Ann, welcome back to Point of View. Kirby, it is a delight to be with you. Thank you so much for having me on. Well, again, we go back a few years. As a matter of fact, I was talking about one time when I had you and Sue Bolin on. I was just with her a minute ago and talking about the issue of LGBTQ and this has become even more significant.
[00:01:28] But the good news is, is that if people find themselves saying, I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do, I'm a pastor, I'm a counselor, I'm a parent, I'd like to get some more information. You have this conference coming up, HOPE 2025. It's going to take place Friday and Saturday, June 20th and 21st. We have information about it on our website, RestoredHopeNetwork.org.
[00:01:53] And if people want to know more, they can go there. But give us some background on what you're going to be doing during the conference. Absolutely. We have been doing these conferences for about 12 years and we will be having this one online so you can join from anywhere in the world. And it's a very reasonable price, $125 for a two day event.
[00:02:15] So what we will be covering is help for families who are grappling with how do I maintain my faith and relate well with my LGBT identified loved one. That is a big topic that we run into quite a bit and it's very treacherous to navigate. It's very difficult. In certain cases, kids will just cut off their parents if they don't answer the right way.
[00:02:39] And so it's really challenging. We also are going to cover how to overcome porn addiction. That's a common struggle in this nation amongst a bunch of different people, but especially in the LGBT field. So we are definitely going to cover that. We're also going to have new information in a documentary by Dr. Julie Hamilton of how to help youth that have transgender feelings.
[00:03:08] So that's a very practical support for families, professionals and those who are grappling with this. And we can't wait to have her share those things. We also will have, go ahead, I beg your pardon. No, it's okay. Just keep going. And then we also have Andrew Rodriguez, who's a counselor, especially with men, but also he counsels some women who are grappling with unwanted same-sex attraction out of Pennsylvania.
[00:03:35] And a gifted young man, very good example of grappling masculinity. He hasn't struggled with that himself, but his practice is full of a lot of people who have come out of that or want to come out of that life. So he's a tremendous fellow. I look forward to him speaking to our audience as well. And that's a primary topic right there. I just mentioned that, again, it is Friday and Saturday. There's a session before and after lunch each day.
[00:04:04] And I think it's something that you can join with. And I thought we might just kind of dig in a little deeper since one of those, Jonathan speaking on overcoming sexualized media addiction. I wanted to talk about that one for a minute because whether you're dealing with LGBTQ issues or whether you're just dealing with pornography issues or temptation issues, that one, I think, really applies to everyone, doesn't it? I believe it does, yes. In fact, a young lady who worked for our conference said, you really need to cover this.
[00:04:34] And I thought, yes, we do. We do. And we will. And Jonathan Doherty has been working in this field in Texas with a ministry called Be Broken. He's overcome porn addiction himself and sexualized the media. And he has a number of excellent strategies, non-shaming, just move ahead into wholeness in Christ and in ways that don't impede your relationship with your spouse and your future relationships.
[00:05:03] And so it's very profound and applicable to anyone and everyone, in my opinion, especially the younger generations. Well, again, that's one of those things we've talked about here. We have a booklet on that. Of course, we have ones on transgender and all sorts of other issues. But that one is, I think, a broader issue that would, I think, be helpful to individuals. Whether they're struggling with it or not, they will be dealing with that. And I think, in some respects, I think this conference is open to anyone.
[00:05:32] But I highly recommend some of the pastors, spiritual mentors, maybe some of the counselors, therapists, to especially make sure they mark this on their calendar. Because you're going to be providing some material that they probably won't hear too many other places. That's absolutely true. And so we'd like to make that more common, that these topics can be talked about with a redemptive view in mind and how to help someone recover from a number of different struggles.
[00:06:03] And so especially parents are really grappling hard with how do I relate to the LGBT level without compromising my faith. That's a super hard topic. There's a lot of pressure on parents right now. The other one I'm going to mention is one with Ann, and that is the parent's perspective. Because that's an issue as well. Because you just pointed out a minute ago, Ann, sometimes your child comes home from college, and they start popping off with a few things.
[00:06:32] And you don't know what to say. And almost anything you're likely to say is one that is going to shut down the communication. So in some respects, this is really good preventative medicine, isn't it? It is indeed. In fact, focus on the family let me know that one of their biggest questions right now is for grandparents, the multigenerational relationships.
[00:06:53] How do we keep open the doors of communication with when there's an LGB or trans-identified grandchild or child? And in some cases, they're literally cutting off the next generation above them, which is so incredibly hard. I can't even imagine what that would be like. I'm expecting my first grandchild in July. First grandchild. I will be ya-ya, I hope. Congratulations. For grandmother. Thank you.
[00:07:22] But honestly, if I was cut off of a relationship with this little one, I would just be devastated. So I can only imagine what parents are going through who are having this kind of message thrown at them. And so we actually have an expert on our board in this field, and she will be sharing a workshop on that as well. How to relate when you've had some kind of relationship severing. How can you maintain?
[00:07:51] How can you hold on? How can you make it through this? And recently, her own child who identified as trans has reopened his heart to his mother. Wow. And so she has fought hard and well, and excellent things are happening. So, yeah. Let me take a break. That's another topic. We have another segment where I want to get into some more. I want to talk about, of course, what Andrew Rodriguez is doing and a little bit more about what you're doing
[00:08:19] and certainly let people know about Restored Hope Network. And we have a link there. So you have one to the network, but you can also find out about the conference. That's right below it. And it gives you the speakers, the schedule, the logistics, the conference material, kind of an overview of what's going to be taking place. And I would highly recommend that if you want to watch it individually, you can. There's also the idea of a watch party. So we'll talk more about that right after these important messages.
[00:08:58] This is Viewpoints with Kirby Anderson. Dr. Sean McDowell reminds us that apologetics in an ever-changing culture must be about taking timeless truths and applying them to timely issues and challenges. Sixteen years ago, he was the editor of the book Apologetics for a New Generation, and I have recommended it as a resource. At the time, he and other authors attempted to answer many of the questions teenagers and college students were asking.
[00:09:24] He has updated that information in his new book, Apologetics for an Ever-Changing Culture. He argues that we need apologetics now more than ever because Christian students are bombarded by anti-Christian messages on social media, in the classroom, and among friends. When he was on my radio program earlier this month, we talked about some of the additions and changes in his new book. For example, he said that if someone suggested he have an author write a chapter on transgenderism, he would wonder why that should be included.
[00:09:52] The chapter on the transgender debate is a necessary addition. Even though Sean studied philosophy, it didn't seem like the earlier book should include a chapter on critical theory. Anyone who's heard anything about critical race theory or critical queer theory knows why this chapter was included. He also highlights the work of men and women making a significant contribution to the discussion. One example is the edition of a chapter on urban apologetics, and there's a chapter by Natasha Crane on doing apologetics in the home.
[00:10:22] The forward to both books is written by David Kinnaman, CEO of Barna Group. You will also appreciate some of the interviews Sean does with apologists like Lee Strobel, Jeff Myers, and Hilary Morgan Ferrer. We need to know how to answer the questions surfacing in our changing culture. This is a book to help you do so. I'm Kirby Anderson, and that's my point of view.
[00:10:46] For a free booklet on a biblical view of genetic engineering, go to viewpoints.info slash genetic engineering. Viewpoints.info slash genetic engineering. You're listening to Point of View, your listener-supported source for truth. And Edward with us for a few more minutes as we talk about, again, the Restored Hope Network Conference. It has the theme washed, and that is based upon 1 Corinthians 6, verse 11.
[00:11:14] And that is what some of you were. You were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. It is a virtual conference taking place June 20th and 21st. And, Ann, just before I talk about some of the other speakers, let's talk about it. The general registration cost $125. A college student, $100. But I also, just as we're going to the break, mentioned something else, an in-person watch party.
[00:11:43] This could be something you could bring together a small group, individuals that you're ministering to or interacting with, and you could gather together to actually participate in that conference. And that, of course, then allows for any kind of discussion taking place. So tell us what you have planned there. Well, it's rather exciting, actually. A number of the churches affiliated with us are going to host watch parties.
[00:12:08] They're going to provide maybe hospitality around that, coffee and tea in the morning, maybe some snacks and bring in lunches. Charge a little bit, and they have access to the entire full conference, including all three live workshops happening at one time. So that includes three registrations.
[00:12:27] And the fun part for us, a couple of us on the board, is to send the watch party, the people hosting that, a watch party box that includes T-shirts to give away, some books, some materials about questions for discussion starters, a number of other things, like even some popcorn and fun ideas about how to make that an event of their own.
[00:12:54] So small groups, sometimes churches are hosting it in three larger rooms at a church building. I know of three or four of those cases. Some people are hosting them in their homes. It's exciting. It's really fun, and it's great discussion. So you don't miss out on the relational aspects as well. So, again, let me just encourage you, if you're a church and maybe you have an outreach already and this would be a group that you could gather together,
[00:13:21] or you know individuals that maybe are wondering to maybe learn a little bit more about that, it could be an event you could put together. And, of course, we have a link to RestoredHopeNetwork.org on our website at pointofview.net. And I thought just for a minute I'd like to talk about Andrew Rodriguez because this is kind of an intriguing ministry that has developed around him, and he's going to be talking about helping men and women dealing with unwanted same-sex attraction.
[00:13:50] You're not, of course, even allowed to talk about that half the time anymore, but, again, that is a real need, and it is something that he's going to be addressing at the conference. That's right. It is a real need, and it is not what people claim that so-called conversion therapy. There is no therapy called that, by the way, and it's just an intended divisive phrase, by the way. It's a straw man argument as well.
[00:14:19] I mean, you build up some fake thing and then you tear it down. What really is true, and Andrew would concur with this, is that the laws that have passed in the U.S., which makes it difficult to talk about such things, are really to prohibit speech between a counselor and a client. It's not about anything horrific. If you eliminate the speech aspect, go ahead and pass all the laws you want.
[00:14:44] But the truth of the matter is speech is what's challenged here. Can a counselor bring their skills to help a person with an area that they want help with? And so Andrew says yes. He lives in a place where he's able to do that as well. Counselor Kaylee Childs' situation where she's challenging the Colorado law, for example, is going all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court. It was just accepted as a review of speech.
[00:15:14] Is professional speech allowed or is it conduct? And that is the argument. You would think on the surface you'd say, well, of course it's speech. But the state is arguing that it's actually conduct, not just speech. So anyway, so we have – we're very aware of the legal challenges to these things and the messaging that they are using to prohibit speech.
[00:15:39] And so we're trying hard to keep that door open for those who actually seek that kind of help. Non-coercive, it's individuals who are looking for support in that way, just like I did many years ago. So Andrew is courageous, and he is willing to stand in the gap for his clients. And he is a terrific man, delightful. He will be really helpful to hear from.
[00:16:08] I also wanted to mention real quick, if you don't mind, I made a – we created a discount code for your listeners if they'd like to use that. Great. And it's point of view POV 2025, and they can enter that in the coupon code area for 5% off. It's a low fee already, so we're doing kind of smaller coupons. But for 5% off, you can enter POV 2025, and that's good until mid-April.
[00:16:38] So, yeah. Thank you so much. Just wanted to do one of that. Yeah. And again, we'll keep track of that in case somebody forgot to write it down and wanted to know. But, again, that is one thing that we do want to encourage you to find out about. And just before I let you go, Ann, let's talk about the RestoredHopeNetwork.org. If you go there, you'll have a menu of who you are, some of your position papers, how you can find help, resources. Of course, the event that we've already talked about is the Hope Conference.
[00:17:07] But if people want more information, whether they can go to the conference or not, it does seem to me that we also have that link. And when people land on your website, what can they find and how can you help them? Oh, my. They will find a lot of information from books and videos, some free documentaries that you can access on transgenderism or how to leave homosexuality to resources about what's happening about the trans medical movement overseas
[00:17:37] and what the outcomes are beginning to happen in the U.S. So that's all under resources. We have all our previous Hope Conference audios and videos there. We've got about $2 million worth of amazing videos given to us from Pure Passion Media that cover also sexual abuse, sexual violation, overcoming those things, porn addiction, a number of other topics, including leaving same-sex attraction and transgenderism.
[00:18:06] So David Cal Foster, he recorded many, many videos and entrusted them to Restored Hope Network when he retired. So we have access there. Many different resources to find help for yourself, including parents groups, are under the Find Help tab. The events, we have member events at the bottom of the page on the home page. You can contact us if you don't see help in your region because we do have many friends outside of Restored Hope as well
[00:18:35] that we can encourage you to contact. So all of those and more, including is counseling harmful? That's under About, which is a very important topic. So, yeah, who is Restored Hope Network? If you go in there, you will find all sorts of information, including frequently asked questions and you name it.
[00:18:57] And I just mentioned under Find Help, I've looked at the map here, member ministry, spiritual mentors, pastoral affiliates, therapist affiliates. And I was looking at most of the places where most of the states we broadcast in. There's a few states that you don't have a button, but most of those you do. And even if you don't, as you said, you could contact you to find out if there's help maybe in the area
[00:19:24] because I know there are listeners right now that are saying, where do I go to find some true biblically-based help and try to avoid some of the things you just mentioned. So, again, all of that available. And we'll keep it on the website. RestoredHopenetwork.org is the article. And it's right under the picture of Ann. If you scroll down, you'll see one that says Hope Conference. And that's the same website, slash Hope Conference, or Hope, C-O-N-F.
[00:19:51] You don't have to remember all that because it's all on our website. And I'm hoping that many of you will mark your calendar June 20th and 21st and actually attend the virtual conference. And some of you might even think about having an in-person watch party. So, Ann, as always, great to hear from you and look forward to the next opportunity. Thank you so much, Kirby. Always a pleasure.
[00:20:15] I might just mention that Karen walked in just a minute ago and said the last time we had Ann and Sue Bolin, that was, what, six years ago? Okay, I have time fly. So there is, again, some information that you might want to have available. And as I mentioned just a minute ago, all available on the website pointofview.net. You can find many of the articles that I've referred to, some of the stuff about China we've covered, too.
[00:20:41] We come back, we've got quite a back and forth about the Chief Justice, the President of the United States, and the desire to take some of these gangland members to El Salvador. So we'll try to sort some of that out. I already have heard from Kelly Shackelford, who will be with us on Friday. He wants to get into it in terms of some of the legal and constitutional issues. So we'll cover it briefly in this last half hour,
[00:21:08] but I suspect we'll get into it in more detail on our Friday weekend edition. Let's take a break, though. And if you would like more information about anything we've covered so far, all available at the website pointofview.net. We'll be back right after this. In 19th century London, two towering historical figures did battle,
[00:21:40] London was home to Karl Marx, the father of communism, and legendary Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon. London was in many ways the center of the world economically, militarily, and intellectually. Marx sought to destroy religion, the family, and everything the Bible supports. Spurgeon stood against him, warning of socialism's dangers. Spurgeon understood Christianity is not just religious truth.

[00:23:02] The opinions expressed on Point of View do not necessarily reflect the views of the management or staff of this station. And now, here again, is Kirby Anderson. Back once again, if you'd like to join the conversation and give us a call, although I suspect most of you probably just want to sit back and take some notes. We've been certainly encouraging you to do that today. And just before we go any further, let me just mention again, Truth Team is next week. We'll be looking forward to talking a little bit about some of the reasons why you should support this ministry.
[00:23:32] Looking forward to the guests that we have scheduled. Start right off with Joel Rosenberg on Monday, and it just gets better as the week unfolds. So again, you should be looking for an email from me about some of the details. Of course, you can go to the website, pointofview.net. While I'm making some announcements, I thought just one more time, a shout-out to our good friends in central Illinois. WPEO is having their 55th year anniversary, 55 years of Christian radio programming,
[00:24:01] and I'm going to have a chance to participate with that. But I thought you might like to hear once again from the general manager of WPEO, Paul Scott. We're very excited, Kirby, about our 55th anniversary banquet. We were excited about 50 years, but, you know, five years ago we were right in the throes of COVID and couldn't do anything at all. We just couldn't. And so we want to take advantage of another, you know, big number, 55,
[00:24:27] and just celebrate what the Lord has done through WPEO. This is not a banquet to toot our own horn, but to express our gratitude for how God has guided this radio station over the last 50 years. If people want to, when people would like to come, head to WPEO.com. You'll have to scroll down a wee bit, click on the 55th anniversary banner that is scrolling across the screen,
[00:24:53] and that will take you to a screen where you can decide what entree you want. We're going to have a very nice meal that night. We're going to have a good music program, and then we're delighted that you've, you know, decided to come speak to us that evening. Again, looking forward to that opportunity. By the way, some of you in California might say, well, what about us? Well, I know that tomorrow I'm going to be taping a short interview with Brent Randall, who's the general manager of KYCC. That is their 50th anniversary banquet, which I'll be participating in as well.
[00:25:23] So, again, I like to feature some of the radio stations that have been so good to carry Point of View for so long, and we'll probably hear from some of them during Truth Team as well. So just a lot of great information on the website, and take the time to find out what is being said. Okay, let's get into this. This has become a back and forth. It always is unfortunate when individuals are making one statement, another individual has to correct another statement,
[00:25:50] and a lot of it has to do with this deportation case, or the decision to remove these dangerous, illegal aliens. And so, as a result, you may already have heard that, of course, President Donald Trump, Mr. President, it would be better if sometimes you didn't say anything. This judge, like many of the crooked judges I'm forced to appear before, should be impeached. He could have just left that to, I know, I mentioned earlier in the week,
[00:26:18] Representative Brandon Gill from the state of Texas announced that he was going to file articles of impeachment. Let me just cut through all of this and say it's not going to happen. Can you get enough Republicans to impeach a judge that's out of control? Maybe. Can you get a requisite number in the Senate to confirm that and to actually act on the articles of impeachment? Not going to happen. So, a lot of words, but nevertheless, after that was said,
[00:26:47] that Chief Justice John Roberts probably would be better if he just kind of turned a blind eye to it. But, nevertheless, posted for more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose. Now, I can understand why, indeed, the Chief Justice wanted to jump in.
[00:27:13] I certainly can understand why there have been people that have supported Donald Trump want to jump in because here, over the weekend, this particular judge, James Boasburg, I think is how you pronounce his name, blocked the administration, that is, a Trump administration, for 14 days from invoking the Alien Enemies Act to deport criminal aliens,
[00:27:36] arguing that, first of all, that is an 18th century law that was enacted only during wartime. True. True. But, again, the argument being made by the Trump administration is that these are individuals who were declared dangerous, and as a result, whether you're talking about the Trendy Aragua members or El Salvador's MS-13
[00:28:03] or some of them from other Latin American cartels, they were considered enemies of the state. And so that's kind of where we have the back and forth right now. The argument being made is that how do we know all of those individuals were part of the gangs? Well, because they were carrying gang tattoos. They had been accused of various kinds of crimes. They were all hanging together.
[00:28:30] But if, indeed, we have to systematically, one after another, have them appear in front of a court before we can deport them, can you not see the problem there? On the other hand, there's the concern, and I understand that concern as well, about could they, in a roundup, take somebody who is innocent, and that then puts them in a prison in El Salvador under President Bukele. Okay, I can understand that argument as well.
[00:28:59] Gary Bauer kind of weighed in on this, so I thought I would at least give you his thoughts. And then we'll certainly hear from a few people. Kelly Shackelford said he really wants to talk about this on Friday and has done some research on the judge and all the other issues. But Gary Bauer said, look, when he took office two months ago, President Trump broke the shackles, he said, off of the Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in other words, ICE officials.
[00:29:28] He ordered a major nationwide crackdown on illegal immigration, beginning with violent gang members who have been, as he said, terrorizing American cities coast to coast. By the way, when those words are underlined, it then takes you to all sorts of links, so you can read those to yourself. If you don't already get the Monday edition of the End of Day Report from Gary Bauer, it's on his website. You can find it pretty easily.
[00:29:56] And then to expedite the process of removing these vicious gang members, President Trump declared two of the worst illegal alien gangs, that's Trent de Aragua, and MS-13, to be terrorist organizations. And then invoked, and that again has a link so you can follow the details there, of the Alien Enemies Act, which authorized the president to remove foreign nationals.
[00:30:21] As a result, more than 260 illegal alien gang members were loaded onto airplanes and deported over the weekend. But some leftists, he said, eventually want these violent gang members to stay in the country. And this particular judge did not disappoint them. He actually ordered President Trump to turn the planes around and bring the thugs back to America. This was an attempt to maybe cripple the attempt by Donald Trump in his presidency.
[00:30:51] I might just point out that there have been all sorts of memes. Now, maybe you saw one where the judge now has ordered the two astronauts to go back to the International Space Station, and so people are having a little bit of fun of that as well. But again, this is an individual who was an Obama appointee and has had a history over these years of going against anybody that would be perceived as supporting Donald Trump.
[00:31:17] You might remember he was one of the people that got the reputation as the hanging judge because he imposed very harsh sentences on some of the individuals involved in the riots of January 6th and did so during those January 6th trials. I might also mention that he was one of the judges who applied what was called the corporate financial fraud and obstruction laws against those January 6th demonstrators,
[00:31:47] and that was struck down by the Supreme Court. And again, Gary Bauer has a link to that, so you can read some of this. You don't have to take what he says at face value. He gives you the links. You can read it for yourself. So the argument is right now that these judges are actually using any means possible to slow this down. You can be angry at Donald Trump. You can be angry at Tom Holman. You can be angry at this judge.
[00:32:16] I think some of that anger is quite frankly misplaced. The anger should be at the previous administration or administrations that have had an open door and allowed all these individuals to come here. These weren't individuals that were vetted individually. They were just allowed into this country. Any argument that was made a while back that these individuals were accurately and adequately vetted
[00:32:42] I think blew up in the face of one of the individuals that was interviewing J.D. Vance, Margaret Brennan, in which at one point she said, well, no, he was vetted, but later on he changed his mind. That's when you had J.D. Vance said, Margaret, I simply don't care. The fact that this is a dangerous man now means he has to go. Even if you think he was adequately and accurately vetted, I don't think that he was.
[00:33:08] Later on he was calling for terrorist activity, and most of us would like to have a safe country. So again, I recognize wanting to follow the rules, but I also understand the willingness to get rid of individuals that threaten you and your family. Anyway, we'll take a break. Come back and get into a couple of other issues. As a matter of fact, one of the articles I've posted about the JFK files being released, and we'll get into a couple of other topics real quickly, but we need to take one of those mandatory breaks.
[00:33:38] We'll be back right after this. You're listening to Point of View, your listener-supported source for truth. Back for a few more minutes, let me try to put some of this in perspective, and if you've got something to write with, you might grab something to write with real quickly
[00:34:08] because I want to try to put what has happened here with Judge Mosberg with some perspective. And so we can look at his individual case about whether or not the Aliens-Enemies Act should be implemented, and I think there's a legitimate question to be asked about something that was implemented 200 years ago, the Alien Enemies Act, for wartime, whether it applies today. But this is part of a bigger issue.
[00:34:37] So for a minute, I want to back away from one issue and look at the bigger issue. If you've got something to write with, write down the number 700. That is, we have 700 federal district court judges around the country. Now, those judges in most cases have been placed there by either Barack Obama or Joe Biden. Why would I say that? Well, look at this. They have been president for 12 of the last 16 years.
[00:35:07] Eight years, Barack Obama. Four years, Joe Biden. So as a result, you have 72% of the federal district court judges during that 16-year period have been appointed by Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Are they going to be left to center? You know the answer to that. It's not even a question.
[00:35:28] And so as a result, there are some times when a more conservative judge, federal judge, maybe wants to step in and issue an injunction. I think we talked about Matthew Kazmieric on the issue of the abortion pill. By the way, the latest booklet coming out is on the abortion pill by our friend Liberty McCarter. But that is very rare.
[00:35:51] Most of the time, conservative judges or judges that were appointed by whether it's George W. Bush or Donald Trump tend not to issue the injunctions. How do I come to that conclusion? Here's some more numbers. During the eight years in which President Barack Obama was president, during his eight years, he actually faced 12 nationwide injunctions.
[00:36:18] Last month, Donald Trump faced 15 just in one month. Okay, so it gives you a little bit of an idea. Barack Obama faced 12 nationwide injunctions during eight years. Joe Biden faced 14 in four years. In the first term, Donald Trump faced 64 judicial injunctions. There's 120 lawsuits that have been filed against his administration. 15 nationwide injunctions, as I mentioned, just last month.
[00:36:47] It's real obvious that what these left-wing radicals in the federal judiciary trying to do is not just slow down the Trump administration, but just bring it to a halt. Sometimes people complain that Doge is moving too quickly. Well, there may be a reason for that.
[00:37:07] But first of all, look at the amount of pushback over just cutting some of these departments down, with the exception of the Department of Education, which was letting half the people go. All these others were fractions of a percent. But even that generated enormous response. And then, of course, now you have judges not only saying, we're going to issue an injunction and let you actually deport another individual. We're going to tell you to turn the airplane around.
[00:37:36] So, again, I understand there's some, I think, very legitimate concerns about whether the Alien Enemies Act should be implemented by Donald Trump. But I want you to see it in the broader context, in which in his first term he had 64 judicial injunctions against him. And you have more injunctions against Donald Trump just last month than Barack Obama faced in eight years as the president.
[00:38:05] And I think you can see what's going on. Now, if you're convinced that Donald Trump is a fascist, he's a Nazi, he is the end of democracy as we know it, then maybe you're cheering this. But I suspect that most of you listening to this broadcast may say, you know, I don't always like the things Donald Trump says or does. But I just know what they're trying to do is keep him from doing what were his campaign promises. And we'll keep track of those numbers.
[00:38:32] But I think it is helpful when sometimes people are maybe a little bit unaware of how many of these federal judges, and it just takes one federal judge. Federal judge one time in Washington State. Federal judge one time in Hawaii. Stops the building of the wall on our southern border. Here a judge in the D.C. court stops the president of the United States to do what most people think is under his jurisdiction.
[00:38:59] And we'll have, I think, a more robust back and forth and debate about that on Friday. But I just think it was helpful for you to have some of those numbers. Let me also mention that another article I've posted just for you to read is by Sarah Arnold about the fact that the Trump administration has announced the release of 80,000 classified files related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy.
[00:39:28] Now, so far, most of those are still coming. But at least as of yesterday, as of March 18, 2025, the records are available to access either online on one of the pages, which we have a link to, or in person via hard coffee, or on analog media formats. And that's available at the National Archives at College Park, Maryland.
[00:39:58] And so, again, the records continue to be digitized, and they will be posted this page. So the bottom line is, do we have all of them? No. Theoretically, we'll have them sometime in the future. And I thought it was interesting that our newly confirmed Director of National Intelligence, that would be Tulsi Gabbard, praised the administration for ushering in a new era of transparency.
[00:40:21] Once these are revealed and we are released and people looked them over, maybe we can understand why there was such a hesitancy to release them. But this is an administration that at least is dedicated, on the surface at least, to transparency. And I applaud whether they do it for one reason or another.
[00:40:40] It's just a great illustration of things have really changed dramatically inside the beltway, inside the swamp, inside the executive office building, inside the Oval Office. And I think we should applaud that as well. So, again, if you want to get more information about some of these issues, that is certainly the case. And I, once again, just encourage you to write down some of those numbers.
[00:41:07] Maybe tomorrow I'll talk about some of the other numbers related to Ukraine and Russia, which we've been able to dig up. But, again, 700 federal district court judges, representing then 72 percent, actually appointed and confirmed under either Barack Obama or Joe Biden.
[00:41:26] And we had, just last month alone, 15 nationwide injunctions against Donald Trump, which are more than Barack Obama faced in eight years in office. If you don't see a difference, well, I can't help you. But, nevertheless, those are just a couple of facts and figures I like to put on the table because you may not hear them anywhere else. If you'd like to go back and learn a little bit more about China, that's in our first hour.
[00:41:55] And, again, I hope that that was a place where we could educate you about some of those issues. And don't forget, as I mentioned before, one of the real benefits of supporting this ministry is receiving the Outlook magazine, the March issue. It's on China. And we would love to get it to you. Of course, I also mentioned the two books. We have information about that. If you'd like to order either of those, I have both of those, of course, with me here on the table.
[00:42:18] And if you'd like to find out a little bit more about some of these other issues, we've posted an article about the book that came in The Guardian. And it's not necessarily favorable towards him. So I wanted to give you both point and counterpoint. And then also one from The Spectator, which, again, New York Times comes clean about China and COVID. Maybe a few years too late, but we've got to give them credit where credit is due. Most importantly, I want to thank Megan for her help engineering the program today.
[00:42:47] And Karen has been stepping in for our friend Steve Miller today. So, Karen, thank you for producing the program. Most importantly, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow right here on Point of View. Well, Truth Team Week is just about here. And we need your help.
[00:43:17] First of all, will you please pray for Point of View? Your prayers are the foundation for all that we do. And honestly, the reason for any success we have. Second, consider helping us get a head start on our Truth Team fundraising goal. Point of View can't bring a biblical perspective to the tough issues of our day without your support.
[00:43:43] And a biblical worldview is needed in this culture more than ever. Our goal for Truth Team Week, which begins on Monday, is to raise $150,000. But you can help us get a head start by giving now. Give today so we can kick off our Truth Team fundraiser in a historic way and bring biblical truth to this nation in need.
