[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Hour 2, Education and Our Universities, Point of View Radio Talk Show

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Peter Higgseth, who's been on the program, also spoke at our banquet on the battle for the American mind.

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, Liberty MacArthur has one, so you think you can homeschool, you're right, she gives you some encouragement there.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But the very last piece there actually is a piece by Larry Sand in which he reminds us more than 40 years ago,

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: the U.S. Secretary of Education actually called together what was called the National Commission on Excellence in Education

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and decided at that time that if you looked at the educational performance of America, we were a nation at risk.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Larry Sand then updates it to the latest nations report card and showing how dismal it is,

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_02]: so much so that too many Americans are not smart enough to join the Army.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: The impact that COVID has had, the fact that we spend a tremendous amount of time on woke-ism in the schools and other topics.

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And so there is obviously a crisis in education, so it seemed very appropriate to bring back to the microphone Ray Moore,

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: individual that is the founder and director of the Exodus Mandate Project.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Also serves as the president of Frontline Ministries, an individual that graduated from the Citadel

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and also has degrees from Grace Theological Seminary and a friend of this ministry.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Ray Moore, welcome back to Point of View.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Ray, thank you for having me and I think I've been off and on on the show since Marlon Maddox was the host

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_05]: and we're grateful we used to be on about once a year and glad to be back this time.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me just mention that one of the booklets that you have here which I love, Which Way America

[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course anybody that's paid attention to the schools, I of course talked about this idea of a nation at risk

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and that was in the 1980s and the problem has gone from bad to worse.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But in your little piece here which again people can get from you if they'd like,

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: you give us quotes from a number of people but I'll just pick out one.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Jay Greshamachen back in 1926, Professor Princeton, I think many of our Presbyterians would know who he was

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_02]: actually testified before the U. Congress about the idea of not having a federal department of education

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and he and another Presbyterian theologian, R. L. Dabney even said it would be a disaster to try to teach education

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: separate from religion so that's more than 100 years ago.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I was reaching back 40 years ago to a nation at risk but you can go back almost 100 years

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and find that people were concerned about what we're talking about today in 2024.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, Machen was arguably the nation's leading Protestant theologian in the 1920s and 30s.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_05]: He died in 37 and in 1987 some publishing company called the Trinity Forum

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_05]: picked up his articles, his books and published them in a volume called Education Christianity in the State

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_05]: and he was arguing kind of subtly for the Exodus mandate idea in the 1920s and 30s

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_05]: saying that state education was a mistake.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_05]: And we've had to deal with a lot of good Christians and conservatives

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_05]: ever since we launched the Exodus mandate about 30 years ago.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_05]: There's so many people still trying to fix public education, trying to reform it

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_05]: and we think it cannot be reformed. We think public education is actually working.

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_05]: It's very successful for socialism and for the devil and it can be fixed

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_05]: and we need to give up this silly idea that you can fix something because it's not broken.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a socialistic model and we need to abandon it for the exclusive use of private Christian schools

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_05]: and homeschooling and we've really struggled with the churches to try to get the pastors to see that

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_05]: and now they're finally coming out of their deep 50 years sleep and waking up

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_05]: but it's been really delayed, hours late.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: You know one of the arguments that you've heard over the years is,

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah well we have Christian professors and teachers and things like that so that is good

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_02]: but the problem is as you and I both said before if you have a flawed system

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: you put good people in a flawed system, the system wins

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's becoming more and more difficult to be a Christian

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and the best illustration I have comes from the current vice presidential nominee Tim Walts

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_02]: who is of course also the governor of the state of Minnesota

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: because the most recent article is being said, at least some writers are saying that

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: if you take seriously these new mandates in Minnesota

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: essentially Christian teachers would be banned from the public schools.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Now let me try to explain, it turns out that if indeed Governor Tim Walts

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: who's also of course the vice presidential nominee on the Democratic Party

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: has his way that starting in July 2025 according to licensing rules that have already been passed

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_02]: unless something changes then you really cannot get a teaching license

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_02]: unless you affirm a number of things and in that list are things which I think any honest Christian could not affirm

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: things like transgenderism, critical race theory, even the whole idea of race Marxism

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and so if you don't have a teaching license you couldn't teach in the public schools

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: but you also might not be able to teach in some of the private schools that require such licenses

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_02]: so the argument that used to be made is well we have Christian teachers in the schools

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: if this trend continues, no you won't have even Christian teachers in the public schools

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_02]: because to get a license you will have to, there will be mandates for you to believe things

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: that I don't think a good honest Orthodox Christian could agree with.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: What's your thoughts?

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I think even today if you're born again Christian

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_05]: you really are not free to express your faith openly in most any public school

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_05]: even in the Bible Belt, I'm in a Bible Belt state and I think if a Christian were trying to speak about Christ openly

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_05]: in the classroom today they'd get fired so that ship sailed many many years ago

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_05]: you may remember here Marlon Matta, a book called Public Education Against America

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_05]: and you know that was, I don't know, 10 or 15 years ago at least

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_05]: and we used to talk about this so we think it's time to abandon the schools

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_05]: that's what the Exodus mandate is, get out of these pagan, godless, socialistic public schools

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_05]: and set up Christian schools in our churches and homeschool co-ops

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean we have, there's probably 100,000 evangelical churches in America

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_05]: and you know many of them could start schools, this is not rocket science

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_05]: and they just don't do it, the pastors are just asleep

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_05]: now I'm happy to report that that is really changing in a big way

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_05]: and we're really excited to see that on our banquet which we're celebrating 30 years of our ministry

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_05]: on September 6th and I think that's part of what this call is about

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_05]: we've been in existence 30 years and our banquet speaker this year is a doctor called Brogie

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_05]: he passes the largest evangelical church along the South Atlantic coast

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_05]: between Charleston, South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_05]: and he happens to be a Dallas Seminary graduate right there in Dallas

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_05]: one of their outstanding graduates that he's going to be speaking on the title

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Pastor Bleeding Their Churches in Christian Education

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's take a break, we'll come back and talk about that

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: we do have a link to Exodusmandate.org, we'll talk more about that

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_02]: on the next episode of The Bank Wed and really what you can do in your own church right after this

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: This is Viewpoints with Kirby Anderson

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: This month of August is the 53rd anniversary of our government going off the gold standard

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Safideen Amos wrote in his book The Fiat Standard to explain the impact that political and economic decision has had on our lives

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: his earlier book The Bitcoin Standard was a best-selling book that has been translated in more than two dozen languages

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_02]: he argues that by first understanding the operation of Bitcoin can someone then better understand the equivalent operations in fiat

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: he says it's easier to explain an abacus to a computer user than to explain a computer to an abacus user

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: why the complexity? he says the reason is simple

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: the fiat system which we use today was not carefully constructed as an economic system

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_02]: it was not deliberately designed operating system like Bitcoin rather it evolved through a complex process of compromise

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_02]: between political constraints and expedience in managing government default

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: he explains that fiat currency affects what economists describe as time preference

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: a person with high time preference focuses on present needs while a person with low time preference is willing to delay present gratification

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and places more emphasis on future needs

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: when the world was on the gold standard people knew that money would hold its value in the future

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: this enticed people to save

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_02]: but when the countries moved to a fiat currency the value of the currency declined and there was less inclination to save

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: his book describes the fiat standard that affected such diverse items as food and science and fuels and states

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_02]: he also explains why the quality of the buildings we construct and the goods we buy are declining

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_02]: this is also why our dollars are worth less

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Kirby Anderson and that's my point of view

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: for a free booklet on a biblical view of Israel go to viewpoints.info.israel

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_01]: you're listening to Point of View your listener supported source for truth

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and in your conversation today with Ray Moore let me just again mention as he did just a minute ago

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that Dr. Carl Broglie who I've had a chance to meet and we certainly have appreciated partner with them over the years

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: senior pastor community Bible church in Buford South Carolina that he will be the speaker

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: this will be taking place at First Presbyterian Church is right there in Columbia South Carolina Friday September 6th

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and again first of all let me just say to Ray 30 years congratulations for 30 years of ministry

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_05]: well thank you and we've been around a long time I'm turning 81 a few days and never thought I'd see the day but

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_05]: the since the pandemic our world has exploded in a good way homeschooling is probably doubled in four or five years

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_05]: campus Christian schools are growing exponentially and that's what my little pamphlet which way America's about

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_05]: we actually can see a time three to five or longer years six seven years where we could actually grow this movement

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_05]: enough if the pastors and churches would step up and offer Christian education which they can do these

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_05]: churches lie fallow five days a week may meet a couple of times in a week Sunday maybe and Wednesday and a few times

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_05]: but they're empty their school builders just waiting to be filled with children in their churches and if they families

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_05]: and evangelical churches leave their children in the public schools they'll be indoctrinated and they won't be Christians

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_05]: in a few decades so this is the way to for the pagans in the left to phase out Christianity and they're

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_05]: doing a pretty good job of it and and a lot of our Christians are just oblivious to it George Barnard has

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_05]: some statistics recently about the fact that the evangelical world is losing numbers and losing their

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_05]: witness and they're not salt and light because they have actually put their children in these public schools

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_05]: when they could have trained them in their own churches with homeschools homeschool co-ops and

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_05]: in Christian schools but I'm happy to report that is changing and Dr. Broggy is somebody you should

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_05]: have on your show too about this because he's had a homeschool Institute in his church for 30 years

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_05]: yes had hundreds if not several thousand children to go through it and it's a big church of 2800 people

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: in Buford and we've been to the church and I've had him on in the past when we've been there last

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: time I don't think we connected up but we'll see if we can do it again but he'll be talking

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: about pastors leading their churches in Christian education might just mention that that along with

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_02]: your little booklet I'll hold it up here for people to see which way America would be some great resources

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: because what I want to do is encourage people to go to their pastors elders deacons whatever it

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_02]: might be and say as you point out the church building is there 24 7 and it's really active sometimes on

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Sunday and sometimes on Wednesday usually in Sunday and sometimes on Wednesday but most of the time

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: it isn't really being used and it could be just a great facility for the advancement of Christian ideas

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and education and of course all the other solution is homeschooling now I know you and your wife started

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_02]: homeschooling back in 1977 so you are really the pioneers back then we didn't have a lot of good homeschooling

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: resources I did mention this article by Liberty MacArthur she homeschools her kids and she was

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: homeschooled so we're getting into second and third generations of homeschoolers but at the same time

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I might point out that she actually was arrested her mother was arrested for homeschooling at the time

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: that was when they were in Oklahoma so back then you can remember it was more difficult even kind of

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_02]: legally challenging sometimes to actually homeschool but now the good news is there's so many more

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_02]: resources than existed when you and Gail started back in 1977 yeah we were pioneers we don't know

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_05]: for sure because it was under the radar but we could have been among the first several hundred families

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_05]: in the modern era and we didn't even know another family homeschooling till about 1981 so and our kids

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_05]: are our oldest is 53 now and he homeschooled a while but then he's got his kids in a private

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Christian school and so we've been at it a long time we've got four adult children and nine

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_05]: grandchildren and we're just happy as we can be because our killer kids are all in our grandkids all walking

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_05]: with the Lord and faithful Christians and we think it was largely had to do with the fact that we gave

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_05]: both a Christian based homeschool experience and a private Christian school when they were in middle

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: school let's talk about some of the resources of course I mentioned your little pamphlet there which

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_02]: way America if you go to the website then you have some other things about the fact that all

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: education is religious you have a concern about the dangers of government funded vouchers

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_02]: you have a section on common core and of course those almost pale in comparison now when we

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_02]: start talking about transgenderism critical race theory and all sorts of other things

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_02]: that quite frankly you and Marlon Maddox probably never could have imagined would have been taught in schools

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_05]: go ahead well it's exploded let me mention another website I'm chairman of the board of a San Diego

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_05]: based ministry which is pretty much like Exodus mandate and it's called public school exit dot

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_05]: com public school exit dot com and I'm the co founder with Drann Reese and Alex Newman and it has a lot more

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_05]: resources and activities offered than we do they kind of outstripped us a little bit because they have a

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_05]: very very strong staff and a bigger staff than I do so I'm working with them and you can go there

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_05]: your listeners and get a lot of information probably more than you have time but a lot of information

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_05]: about curriculum a lot of videos and things on public school exit dot com and then if they want to reach me

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_05]: personally they should go to Exodus man date dot org what we have that also in a web page of the

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_05]: email is Exodus man date that's one word Exodus man date at gmail dot com and I can send out a

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_05]: digitally this pamphlet which way America and other information on vouchers of the issues of face

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Christian education here and again we have the Facebook page we have the ex we have the website

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: course we have excess mandate and again one more time for people that are just now grabbing their

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: pen public school exit dot com I've right up here and just an incredible team of experts

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Christian listed there as well and so if you find yourself saying I really need some resources I would

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: like to maybe decide to do something in our own home maybe when we went to homeschool maybe

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_02]: want to consider some of these options maybe Christian school whatever it might be or perhaps

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_02]: you are saying I think it's about time to talk to our pastor or deacon board or elder board

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: whatever and say look we have a resource here it would take some work obviously but what a great

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_02]: benefit this would be not only just to be educating our young children in the church on Sunday

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but educating them Monday through Friday as well and so there are some great opportunities

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and back to the point I made just a minute ago Ray when you and Gail started homeschooling

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: there was no homeschool conferences there were no big books of homeschooling there was nothing

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and even if Christian school gets started they say well okay I don't have enough teachers

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_02]: but maybe we can have teachers with a couple of grades and have some resources and computers

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_02]: workbooks and get started the resources that exist now certainly did not exist even a

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: single school it really is theoretically possible now isn't it?

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah also on that web page there's a lot of questions on curriculum and things like that

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_05]: so they can find a lot of resources on publicschoolexit.com and then if they want to reach me they go

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_05]: to exodusmandate at gmail.com and we'll send out information digitally.

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay so again we have all those links certainly a great resource that I wanted to make available to you

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and again as we have mentioned before the Outlook magazine this month is on the subject of education

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: there's numerous articles in there on everything from public schools, Christian schools, charter schools,

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_02]: homeschool of course this book coming out Battle of the American Mind in some respects

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: we've always saw that as like a sequel to Marlon Maddox's book Public Education Against America

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: so if you're looking for resources we give you lots of links since all available at the website

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: pointofview.net and you can follow all the links that we've mentioned so Ray thank you for hanging in there

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: congratulations for 30 years.

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Well please ask Dr. Broglie to be on your show he's very popular in the Dallas Seminary Community

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_05]: and he's probably one of Dallas Seminary's top graduates in the nation

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_05]: and it's the largest church between Charleston and Savannah and there's a lot of stuff that he does

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_05]: and we're so proud that he's going to be our speaker on September 6th.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Well again we will be seeing him later on when we're in Buford and we'll be at his church

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and we'll see if we can put him up against that microphone there again like we have in the past

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_02]: so let's take a break we have a lot more to cover not as much today we only have a half an hour left

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but we'll do our best to try to cover a couple of issues that you need to know about

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and again take the time to go to these websites because that's where you can equip you and your family

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: and your church to know more about how to make a difference.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll take a break be back right after this.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_00]: At point of view we believe there is power in prayer

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and that is why we have relaunched our Pray for America campaign

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_00]: a series of weekly emails to unite Americans in prayer for our nation.

[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Imagine if hundreds of thousands of Americans started praying intentionally together on a weekly basis

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_00]: you can help make that a reality by subscribing to our Pray for America emails

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: just go to pointofview.net and click on the Pray for America banner that's right there on the home page

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_00]: each week you'll receive a brief news update, a specific prayer guide

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_00]: and a free resource to equip you in further action.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_00]: We encourage you to not only pray with us each week

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_00]: but to share these prayers and the resources with others in your life.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Join the movement today.

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Visit pointofview.net and click on the banner Pray for America right there at the top

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_00]: that's pointofview.net

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's pray together for God to make a difference in our land.

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Point of view will continue after this.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You are listening to Point of View.

[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_00]: The opinions expressed on Point of View do not necessarily reflect the views of the management or staff of this station

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: and now here again is Kirby Anderson.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But in half hour let's see if we can get back to the election because after all that is on the horizon as well.

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: First of all we have the long anticipated first interview with CUML-Harris and Tim Walz

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: and that will take place for CNN.

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a joint interview on Thursday that will actually be taped.

[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Now there are always comments made about interviews and about what kind of setup takes place

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_02]: but this one really lends itself to even more.

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_02]: First of all why is it both of those individuals are there for the interview?

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: The argument has been that maybe she is a little too camera shy

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and so as a result wants Tim Walz with her

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course the fact that it's being taped makes some people wonder whether or not it will be edited

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and heavily edited and if she devolves into some of the infamous words salads

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_02]: those just get taken out.

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So there are going to be a lot of people scrutinizing this first interview

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: more so than if they hadn't build it up so much.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You know if you've been doing interviews along the way there's going to be some places where you hit a pothole or whatever

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: even if you're a good interviewer and that would be the case

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_02]: but when you build it up to the first interview and this comes at the end of the August month

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_02]: you can see people looking at this.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_02]: There is another theory about this and that is that because especially CUML-Harris

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_02]: has been changing her views supposedly through intermediaries

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: often times anonymous staffers

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: it would be hard for Tim Walz who is obviously accomplished as a governor and do an interview

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_02]: to be able to even know how to answer some of the questions that would be posed to him

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: if he went to a solo interview.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So there's a lot more riding on this and we will all get a chance to see it sooner or later

[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_02]: but I thought it was kind of intriguing that they will tape it tomorrow

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and then we will see it at 9 o'clock Eastern 8 o'clock Central

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and you can figure out B6 o'clock West Coast or wherever you might be located

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: and we'll see what comes of it.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But I did want to at least acknowledge that people looking for that interview

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_02]: will finally be able to see it and I'm sure on Friday we'll have a chance to talk about it

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: in our weekend edition conversation.

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Before I move on let me just say that there are some people and Dan McLaughlin says

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I have seven theories on why the press has been so complicit with the Harris campaign

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and he says look let's face it always the press is sort of in for the Democratic side

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: if for no other reason than going all the way back to the various studies done

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: of the media elite back in the 1970s and 80s showed that they were predominantly liberal

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and Democratic in terms of their support.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But he says we've seen something in terms of media bias we've never seen before.

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: He says the press took Barack Obama's personality cult and magnified it

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: with Kamala Harris and Tim Walsh they've invented one with a whole new cloth

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and so he has seven theories as to why the press has been so compliant

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: and not being willing to ask tough questions.

[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I would suggest you that one of the things people are going to be watching tomorrow night

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: in this first interview with Kamala Harris and Tim Walsh is not only how they answer the questions

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but the kind of questions that are asked by the media in the first place.

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But he has seven reasons first to partnership oh we can probably agree with that

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that you oftentimes have a lot of newsrooms where not a person in the room is voted for a Republican.

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He says identity politics of course there's made a lot about the fact that again Kamala Harris

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: first female president possibly first woman of color you can go through that long list.

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Number three of course they hate Donald Trump and that is the case

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but then he has some others on guilt trips on a few rare occasions the press rouses itself

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: to report on a story that's too good to resist like Hillary Clinton's use of the insecure private e-mail server

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and the rest and kind of like hey we maybe have done this too many times

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and we need to just sort of back off.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Two others source greasing you know you ask too many tough questions of Kamala Harris

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_02]: that will be your one and only interview with her

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and then of course the idea of respect for the game

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that is an individuals have recognized that going all the way back

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: more my generation the making of the president what it takes more recently boys on the bus

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: the showdown in Gucci Gulch West Wing House of Cards

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: there have been all sorts of things that are sort of given the press

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_02]: an idea of what they can and should do in terms of covering

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: an individual that they actually agree with and so for a lot of reasons

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I think tomorrow night and we'll talk about it on Friday

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: there will be people watching as much the questions that are asked or not asked

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: as the answers that come from the two candidates so we'll see where that takes us

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: my first article here is of concern

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and it comes from our friends at the Wall Street Journal

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: it has the title who's ready for early voting next month

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_02]: turns out that early voting they said is one thing but two months of it is wild

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that comes from the editors of the Wall Street Journal

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_02]: on September 6 I'm looking at you guys right now listening in North Carolina

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_02]: in on September 6 North Carolina will kick off the 2024 election

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_02]: by beginning to send out mail ballots to voters who have requested them

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_02]: that is if you want to try to do the math a mere 47 days after president Joe Biden

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_02]: quit the race and gave the Democratic nomination to Kamala Harris

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and the debate will not take place assuming it's still taking place

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and looks like it will now until September 10th

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: is this just too early for voting

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_02]: of course there's another issue and that is some people have said well if I vote in September

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and then something happens can I cancel my ballot and vote instead on election day

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and the answer is no you cannot

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_02]: this comes from the North Carolina State Board of Elections

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_02]: once you return your ballot you may not change or cancel your ballot

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: and so again we are allowing people to vote much too early

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that's my opinion maybe you agree or disagree

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course it creates a real problem

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: because if you do vote in North Carolina in September

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and we don't have the election until November 5th

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_02]: you can see that there might be a few things that might happen

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_02]: now the editors with a little bit of fun

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_02]: they're obviously joking

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_02]: what if Kamala Harris on October calls for the government to seize the means of grocery production

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_02]: or if Donald Trump pledges to appoint RFK Jr. to the Supreme Court

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess I says okay we know our examples are hyperbolic

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_02]: but there have been some October surprises

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: in 2016 remember that's when we had

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Donald Trump's remarks from Access Tape

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_02]: which broke on what October 7th

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_02]: you also had if you go about that same period of time

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_02]: on October 28th you had the FBI Director James Comey

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: issuing a letter saying that the FBI, the Bureau, was reviewing

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: newly discovered emails in Hillary Clinton's server investigation

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and so you can see that there are some possibilities for an October surprise

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: almost always have been

[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and for those of you that are thinking well shame on North Carolina

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: for starting in September

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_02]: well early in person voting

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: actually begins October 6th in Michigan

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: October 9th in Arizona

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and I know we have listeners in both of those states

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: and again you could actually even in Pennsylvania

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: as early as September 16th

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: go to election offices to request complete and return mail-in ballots

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: so this is a problem that has really kind of gotten out of control

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and one of the reasons why I wanted to make sure that all of you that receive

[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_02]: our emails and other resources have election resources

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm holding up our booklet which we have sent out now

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and soon you have received it many of you probably already have

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_02]: received it in the mail if not be looking for it

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_02]: it is my booklet on the importance of voting

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and it has whole sections here about the need to educate voters

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_02]: you may be educated but you know a lot of people that aren't

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: first of all register people that are not registered to vote

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: but more important the whole section of close elections

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_02]: which I want to talk about after the break

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: because anybody who now can naively say that

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_02]: well I'm not sure one vote makes a difference

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to give you a couple of really good examples

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_02]: of how close these votes have been just in the last few years

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_02]: but let's take a break and when we come back

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to come back with us some more material

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: but certainly this booklet which we've made available

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: to those of you that are members of our truth team

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_02]: is available but even so if you say well I have not supported you

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'd like some more information go to the website

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: pointofview.net on the right hand side

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_02]: you will see election central and we have added

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: as I mentioned just the other day the Democratic Party Platform

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and the Republican Party Platform as well as many other articles

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and resources that should make it much easier for you to know how to vote

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_02]: anybody says well I'll wait till November

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of people won't be waiting because starting next month

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_02]: they can actually vote I'll be right back

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_01]: you're listening to point of view

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_01]: your listener supported source for truth

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_02]: once again one of the things I do certainly every election season

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_02]: is talk about how close some of the votes are

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and I've told you stories over the years

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: some of these particular elections that have resulted in a tie

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and it turns out that there's a lot more of those out there

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_02]: the public interest legal foundation has said

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_02]: that actually over the last almost two decades

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_02]: there have been 625 elections that have ended in ties

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and then another 162 elections that were decided by one vote

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and I've given you some examples of that over the years

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_02]: in which in some cases there was an individual that I've talked about

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_02]: we used to occasionally have on the program there

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_02]: running for the Illinois House

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: who again there was some election questions so they decided it was a tie

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: flipped a coin and she lost and then found out that

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_02]: that week when she went back to church

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: there were all sorts of her friends that had not voted

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and she would have actually still been serving

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_02]: in Springfield Illinois in the House

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: but people in her church could not be bothered to go out and vote

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and so we've seen lots of those examples

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: even last year in 2023 now that's an off your election

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: there were 26 races that ended in ties

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_02]: so you're talking about very close elections

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_02]: well how about a presidential election

[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_02]: of course I think most of you that are old enough remember

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_02]: when George W. Bush won Florida by 520 some odd votes

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_02]: over Al Gore and became the next president

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: but let's take some more recent ones

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_02]: in 2016 Donald Trump won three swing states

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_02]: by a mere 77,000 votes

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_02]: now the one that I wanted to talk about

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: which we have been focusing on very significantly

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: in 2020 Joe Biden won three swing states

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Arizona, Georgia and Michigan by 42844 votes

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_02]: think about this 42,000 votes

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I said to one pastor of a mega church

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: that has networked churches in those communities

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_02]: they have networked churches in Arizona, Georgia and Michigan

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: just if you could have been able to get some of the people

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_02]: in those churches who are not registered to vote

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_02]: to register and then those individuals who register to vote

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_02]: to go out and vote it was only 42,000 votes

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_02]: that kept the possibility of actually having what would have been

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_02]: a 269-269 electoral tie

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_02]: between Joe Biden and of course Donald Trump

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: so anybody that would ever try to argue

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: that it is probably not that important to vote

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: just needs to look at a lot of these elections

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_02]: now in my booklet I also have a section

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_02]: called the stewardship of the vote

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_02]: you know that Jesus warned in a parable of the talents

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_02]: about one servant that just simply buried his talent

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think that sometimes Christians have been

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_02]: burying their talent

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_02]: my argument is based upon looking at a wide variety

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: of different estimates that the typical American church

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_02]: probably has around 15% of the membership

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that are not registered to vote

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_02]: a week ago Kelly actually gave a higher number

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but he was looking overall I was saying again

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that varies from churches that are very politically active

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_02]: to churches that are not

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and it varies quite a bit by denomination

[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but just let's use the figure 15%

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_02]: do you know somebody and your sphere of influence

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and maybe a fellow church member

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_02]: it could be one of your children

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_02]: who is going to be in college

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_02]: when it's time to vote in November

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_02]: who's not registered to vote

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and your first step of course would be to register

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_02]: those individuals who are like-minded

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_02]: to actually be registered to vote

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but then of those who are registered to vote

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: sometimes you only get as much as 65%

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_02]: of the people that are registered to vote

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_02]: who actually vote

[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and so you can begin to see

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_02]: back to the title of my booklet here

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: the importance of voting

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and this is why we will continue to do what we can

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_02]: to educate you about these issues

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: that's why you can go to our

[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_02]: election central

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_02]: happened to be in an elevator today

[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: with somebody with First Liberty had some material there

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_02]: of course they have one at First Liberty

[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_02]: slash elections

[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_02]: but wherever you can get your information

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_02]: you need to not only

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_02]: obtain it

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and read it but more importantly

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_02]: you need to pass it on

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I suspect that a very high percentage

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: of people that listen to point of view

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_02]: who are registered to vote

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and a very high percentage of those of you

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_02]: listening to point of view also go out and vote

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but you know people that are not

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_02]: registered to vote

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_02]: you know people that even if they're registered to vote

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe don't decide to vote

[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_02]: early and then that day

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_02]: the lines are too long

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_02]: traffic was too much

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_02]: it was raining and they didn't vote

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think there is just too much at stake

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and we're not just talking about the presidential election

[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_02]: we're talking about 34

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_02]: US Senate races

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_02]: 435 races

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_02]: for the House of Representatives

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_02]: about almost 30 different governor's races

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I need to look up that exact number there

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_02]: as well as state legislative races

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: all the way down to city councils

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and even school boards

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and so pay attention

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and do what you can to make a difference

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_02]: and again this booklet

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_02]: on the importance of voting

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_02]: you may want to get extra copies

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and we may have to print quite a lot of those

[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: because every time I hand them to people they say

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: ooh I want to get some more copies

[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and hand them out to all my friends

[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: so if we can be of help to you

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_02]: please let us know

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_02]: last article for the day

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_02]: since we're talking about education

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought we'd talk about what's going on in the universities

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and this comes from John Deulio

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_02]: who used to be in the Bush administration

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and is a professor at

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: well that time he was at Princeton

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_02]: he's taught at a lot of Ivy League schools

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: and he talks about three waves

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_02]: he said the first wave

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: in the universities

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: was coming in 1951

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_02]: when a man by the name of William F. Buckley

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_02]: you know who he is, he was the founder of National Review

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: wrote a book in God and Man at Yale

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_02]: at the age of 25 really began to complain about

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_02]: how the university there

[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_02]: had really abandoned all sorts of issues

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_02]: that needed to be covered

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and so that was kind of back in the 1950s

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_02]: the second wave came in 1987

[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_02]: with a book that I've read

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and actually at Pro Ministries

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: we even did a sequel to it

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: called The Closing of the American Mind

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_02]: by Alan Bloom

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_02]: written by a 47 year old professor at the time

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_02]: talking about what was happening again at universities

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and these two waves

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: warned us about what was happening on the campus

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_02]: but now we're in the third wave

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_02]: John Deulio says

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_02]: and this is a wave which might actually make a difference

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: because the reaction

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_02]: from so many individuals

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_02]: to what has happened in these elite universities

[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and this came in lot parts

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_02]: because of the fact that these are just kind of becoming

[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_02]: hotbeds of anti-Semitism

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of the idyllic, didological leftism

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and wokeism and all the rest

[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_02]: are really starting to cause

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_02]: some of the universities to re-evaluate

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: what's going on

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_02]: and since the average cost as he points out

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_02]: to an Ivy League university is $83,000 a year

[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that's the average

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_02]: there also are fewer students

[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_02]: heading off to college this fall

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_02]: simply because there were fewer births

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_02]: during the 2008 and 2000 night

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_02]: economic downturn

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and so there are some very significant pressures

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_02]: coming on universities

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_02]: as illustrated by the fact that

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you remember the professors at Harvard

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_02]: and MIT and University of Pennsylvania

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: the presidents that actually testified

[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_02]: none of them are in their job anymore

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think more is coming

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_02]: good philosophy

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_02]: if they don't see the light

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_02]: they will feel the heat

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_02]: so it's a very interesting article about

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe third time's a charm

[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and I thought you might like to hear about that

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_02]: especially since today we spent some time

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_02]: talking about education

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to thank Megan for help engineering the program

[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Steve, thank you for producing the program

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: we have some very important topics

[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_02]: we are going to be addressing tomorrow

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_02]: so hope we'll see you then

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: right here

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: on Point of View

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_00]: People are prosecuted differently

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_00]: or not at all depending on their politics

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_00]: criminals are more valued and rewarded

[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_00]: than law abiding citizens

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_00]: it's so overwhelming, so demoralizing

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_00]: you feel like giving up

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_00]: but we can't, we shouldn't

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_00]: we must not

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_00]: as Winston Churchill said to Britain

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_00]: in the darkest days of World War II

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_00]: never give in

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_00]: never, never, never

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_00]: never yield to force

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_00]: never yield to the apparently

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_00]: overwhelming might of the enemy

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and that's what we say to you today

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_00]: this is not a time to give in

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_00]: but to step up

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and join Point of View

[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_00]: in providing clarity in the chaos

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_00]: we can't do it alone

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_00]: but together with God's help

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_00]: we will overcome the darkness

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_00]: invest in biblical clarity today
