[00:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Some of the issues in the news, of course we have a political campaign but we have a
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: lot of other issues that I want to cover as well.
[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That is, the founder of Telegram was arrested in Europe.
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You might say why should I be concerned about that?
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, because it affects the whole idea of free speech and the social media area.
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_02]: We have some great information about the campaign and about the impact of Robert F.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Kennedy Jr.'s endorsement of Donald Trump which I'll get to in just a minute.
[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Also, some great information that comes from Peter Schweitzer, individual we've had on this
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: program many times before.
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Author of such books as Blood Money and Red Handed and Clinton Cash Profiles in Corruption.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Very concerned about again some of what looks like almost the grooming of the vice presidential
[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: nominee for the Democratic Party so we'll get into that as well.
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and perhaps one of the greatest environmental disasters that nobody's ever heard about for
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_02]: our listeners up in Alaska when I say Exxon Valdez, the spill there.
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they don't know where it is.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Anybody who's a little bit older might remember Exxon Valdez.
[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're younger you might say no, I don't remember that.
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It does get a mention in Waterworld, a movie but as a joke.
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But we're talking about an oil spill that actually makes the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska pale
[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_02]: in comparison which is so interesting that you have almost no comments about environmental
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: groups because it's happening in the Red Sea so well we don't care.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So we'll get into some of those issues and again my goal is sometimes to cover some
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: material you've heard about but give you some perspective on it.
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But in some cases cover things you have not heard about in any other venue.
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But let me come back to Friday because I have to sometimes explain that when we had a Friday
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_02]: or when we have a Friday weekend edition, not everybody around the table agrees.
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Matter of fact sometimes some of the most interesting conversation happens when there's
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of a point counterpoint of back and forth and that's happened before.
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And my expectation was is that when Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed Donald Trump that might
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: be a very significant event.
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Now one of my colleagues said no we'll have to see and I recognize that certainly some
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: people that had supported Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gave money to his campaign then seeing
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_02]: him drop out might say well heck I'm not going to do anything then you were the
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: person I supported just because you support Donald Trump I'm just not going to vote.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So you will have a few of those but I do believe that there are a fair number of individuals
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_02]: who might have had some hesitancy about Donald Trump who then when they say well Robert F.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Kennedy recognizes this whole idea of free speeches so important maybe I need to take
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: another look at that and so again I tried to even make the case on Friday that even
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: if nothing else I've heard people say that because Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has really taken
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: on Anthony Fauci taken on the whole vaccine mandates and the rest that might help for
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: some people that said you know after all Donald Trump was actually working to develop
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: these vaccines as well so I'm not going to vote for him either.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that it actually was a positive a more significant positive than may have
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_02]: been presented by one of the guests who also I'd been one of those people that
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_02]: predicted we'd have a red wave and in fact I think he called it a red tsunami.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So you know we're all allowed to have different opinions and I certainly give
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_02]: you a vast array of different opinions if I think they're making some sense
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: which is why the first article I have is from John Cass.
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Now you might say I don't know who he is. Our listeners in Illinois may know
[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: him because he's a pretty prominent well-known columnist up there in the
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Chicago area and I suspect that many of the papers in the Midwest carry his column
[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_02]: as well and so he said RFK Jr. pops Kamala Harris's petty pretty balloon.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_02]: He says you ever watched a child reaching for red balloon there's
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: giddiness there's excitement then the balloon pops and crying and of course
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_02]: you had balloons dropping at the end of the Democratic Convention but his argument
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_02]: is that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. the independent third party presidential candidate from
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_02]: the legendary Kennedy family when he dropped out on Friday and endorsed former
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: president Donald J. Trump actually popped her balloon and he goes on to remind us
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: that this was not just oh I throw my support to Donald Trump but he made a
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_02]: very significant speech. Let me just give you a few quotes from that
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_02]: before we take a break. Kennedy said for example the DNC maybe the Democratic
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: National Committee employed a line judges to throw me and other candidates off
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: the ballot and to throw Donald Trump in jail. It ran a sham primary that was
[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_02]: rigged to prevent any serious challenge to President Biden then when a
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: predictably bungled debate performance precipitated the palace coup against
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: president Biden the same shadowy DNC operatives appointed his successor also
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: without an election they installed a candidate who was so unpopular voters
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: she dropped out of the 2020 election without winning a single delegate. He
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: goes on to say my uncle and my father both relish debate they prided
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: themselves on the capacity to go toe-to-toe with any opponent in the
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: battle over ideas they would be astonished to learn of a Democratic
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: party presidential nominee who like Vice President Harris has not appeared in a
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_02]: single interview or unscripted encounter with voters for 35 days this is
[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: profoundly he says undemocratic how are people to choose when they don't know
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_02]: who they're choosing and how must this look to the rest of the world. A little
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_02]: bit right of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says instead of showing us her substance
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and character the DNC and its media organs engineered a surge of
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_02]: popularity for Vice President Harris based on well nothing no politics no
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: interviews no debates only smoke and mirrors and balloons in a highly
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_02]: produced Chicago Circus. He went on to say he how did the Democratic Party
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: choose a candidate who has never done an interview or a debate during the
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: entire election cycle we know the answers they did it by weaponizing
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: government agencies they did it by abandoning democracy Kennedy said they
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: did it by silencing the opposition and by disenfranchise in American voters what
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_02]: most alarms me isn't how the Democratic Party conducts its internal affairs or
[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_02]: runs its candidates what alarms me most he says is they resort to censorship
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and media control and the weaponization of federal agencies well back to the
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: columnist John Cass he says can any serious person dispute what Robert F.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Kennedy said and he reminds us that the convention in Chicago he says was
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_02]: fantasy there was no policy no explanation of her plans that could
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: fundamentally change the nature of America no discussion no acknowledgement
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: no mention of the three and a half years she served as vice president in the
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: administration that opened the borders allowing illegals inside he then goes on
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_02]: to quote from a radio talk show host up in Chicago who has talked about the
[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_02]: fact that we have more and more people relying on their feelings and emotion
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: but nevertheless ends by reminding us that this endorsement of Donald
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Trump by RFK junior and the decision to drop out of some of the various
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_02]: elections in these close ground states like Wisconsin Michigan Georgia and
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Arizona probably will be a very significant help to the Trump campaign
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_02]: so anyway you heard a little bit of a question is to whether or not it might
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_02]: not be that significant on Friday you have this article here about how it
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_02]: could be very significant here on Monday so if you listen to point of view
[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: every day we'll try to give you different sides to some of these issues
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: especially when they're contentious or controversial we come back there are
[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: there's some other aspects of the reaction to Robert F. Kennedy so we'll
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_01]: talk about that right after this this is viewpoints with Kirby Anderson
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_02]: you only get one chance to make a good first impression Americans were
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to get a first impression of Kamala Harris before the Democratic
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: National Convention yes they knew something about her as vice president
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but now she was running for president her first decision about personnel for
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_02]: her future administration was to pick governor Tim Walsh as her vice
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_02]: presidential running mate he is one of the most liberal governors or
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_02]: senators she could have picked her first policy statement was a speech
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_02]: on price gouging given Friday before the convention her solution was
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_02]: price controls the headline of the Washington Post op-ed was when
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: your opponent calls you communist maybe don't propose price controls on
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: radio I suggested she might want to give her speech in the original
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Russian because price controls were a failure in the Soviet Union in
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Venezuela and even in the US when president Richard Nixon tried it
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: decades ago giving more authority to the federal trade commission to
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: punish grocery companies who charge too much won't solve the problem
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: of high prices I suspect the speech was more about trying to
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_02]: placate the base and appeal to swing voters by showing that she cares
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: about people price controls won't happen but this is a teachable
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: moment why are price controls a bad idea first they distort the
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: market the aforementioned op-ed explained that it would lead to
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_02]: shortages black markets and hoarding among other distortions
[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_02]: second it is hard to find price gouging as the problem last
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: year profit margins in the grocery industry were at a low of 1.6
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: percent Kamal Harris was trying to remove one of her liabilities
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_02]: before she sat down for interviews inflation is a problem but price
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_02]: controls aren't the solution I'm Kirby Anderson and that's my point
[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_01]: of view for a free booklet on a biblical view of Israel go to
[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_01]: viewpoints dot info slash Israel viewpoints dot info slash Israel
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: you're listening to point of view your listeners supported source
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_00]: for truth.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Back once again we're going to get into some of the other issues
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: in just a few minutes but let's stay on the campaign because
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: you might imagine there have been some very harsh comments made
[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsing Donald Trump I'll just
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: pick one because I thought it was interesting I guess is a
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_02]: nice way to say it or ironic whatever phrase you want to
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: use but the reaction from David Axelrod you might say okay
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_02]: who was he well he actually was a chief strategist for Barack
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Obama and he posted almost immediately that Robert F.
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Kennedy senior would have been appalled to see his son cut a
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: deal to drop out of the race and endorse Trump again I always
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: love how when somebody does something they don't like your
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_02]: parents would be appalled at what you just have done and of
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_02]: course the decision that came from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: not something that he frivolously entered into but
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_02]: nevertheless I did say that he was going to suspend his campaign
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: at least in the battleground states and he's going to throw
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_02]: his support behind Donald Trump and so I thought it was
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_02]: interesting that after Daniel Axelrod a strategist for
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Barack Obama posted that Ned Ryan who we've talked about
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: before on this program had on at least once said imagine
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_02]: someone agreeing to drop out of a race at the last minute and
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: then support a rival candidate you suddenly seem offended by
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: someone cutting the deal to drop out of the race and
[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_02]: endorse someone else and it'd be like you know Joe Biden
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: dropping out of the race at the 11th hour and then going
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_02]: in I know endorsing Kamala here I try to do this last
[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: laughing but you only get so far with that and the point I'm
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_02]: making is is that if I was done the other way around and they
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: were certainly appreciative of some of the endorsements then
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that would be okay but here's a good example of almost the
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: identical thing happening in this case orchestrated by the
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: DNC which we just talked about a minute ago and thus a
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_02]: decision to pull the man who did receive all the delegate
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: votes in the election and throw it to an individual that did
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: not even run and did not have any delegates the previous
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_02]: time and of course in this case Robert F. Kennedy is being
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: criticized for doing something which I think most of us can
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: agree has already been done it has led to some interesting
[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_02]: back and forth I don't encourage you to watch some
[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: of the talking head shows over the weekend often times they're
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_02]: showing when I'm teaching in Sunday school and I don't always
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_02]: catch them but I try to read as much as I can about some of
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: the things that were said and there was a real interesting
[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: back and forth between Senator Tom Cotton and the ABC News
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_02]: News host Jonathan Carl on Sunday and interestingly enough
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_02]: of course Tom Cotton was on to speak about a number of issues
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_02]: but right off the bat he talked about the fact that the
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is very different
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_02]: from the Democratic presidential nominee common
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Harris because she has supported decriminalizing
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: illegal immigration or giving taxpayer funded health
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_02]: insurance to illegal aliens or taking away health
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: insurance on the job for 170 million Americans or banning gas
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_02]: cars or confiscating firearms well he didn't get any farther
[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_02]: than that because at this point Jonathan Carl who is the ABC
[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_02]: this week host said wait what do you mean taking away health
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_02]: insurance what are you talking about well Senator Tom Cotton
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: said well she said when she ran for president she wants to
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: eliminate private health insurance on the job of 170
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_02]: million Americans John and I mean he says well that's not
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: her position and that's when Tom Cotton actually started
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_02]: pressing and I think this is something that the press
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_02]: better get realistic about because he says how do you
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_02]: know it's not her position how do you know that's not
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_02]: her position and again Jonathan Carl said well she's
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_02]: no longer supports that position and he said she is
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Tom Cotton says she's not said that she's not said that
[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: she and he says it three times by the way he says maybe
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: anonymous aides on a Friday night have said that but that's
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: the last thing she said and so again Jonathan Carl cuts him
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: off again this is a sitting United States Senator who's
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_02]: not a jerk I mean some people think he is but I don't
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: think you can actually claim that he needs to be cut off
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: time and time again but he was and saying no that's not
[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_02]: she's not taking the positions of the far left of the party
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and again she's clearly making an attempt to move to the middle
[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's the point where at this point you have to say okay what do I believe
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_02]: do I believe what she said five years ago and sometimes
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_02]: reiterated in the last five years or what some anonymous aid now says
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think Senator Tom Cotton is on to something and that is
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_02]: if you are playing along you will see that right now the media is playing along with something
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_02]: that is gaming the system because if she doesn't come out and say no I no longer believe in fracking
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I no longer believe in universal health care I no longer believe in confiscating firearms
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and she doesn't say that although in one interview she did say that last position I
[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_02]: no longer want to confiscate firearms but again you can see that most of the time these are statements
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_02]: being made by an aid think this through for just a minute I don't want to think ill of any
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_02]: individual even a presidential candidate but the game can be played this way I never said that
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_02]: one of our aides said that but I didn't necessarily believe that I get into power I get
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: an opportunity to actually then push forward universal health care and take private insurance
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: away from 170 million americans because I never said I was going to change my position on that
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I was very clear in 2019 I'm very clear today in 2025 as the new president of the United States
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_02]: can you see how the game gets played and also I think it is not fair for Jonathan Carl
[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: to not acknowledge that some of this perhaps is only campaign promises and you've heard the
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_02]: old phrase that campaign promises are like pie crust meant to be broken because interestingly enough
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_02]: senator tom cotton noted during the interview that Jonathan Carl did with senator bernie sanders
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_02]: who is a socialist an avowed socialist a senator from vermont said that is bernie sanders said
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_02]: he was very disappointed that harris was trying to hide her positions and went on to make the case
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: that the american people are totally justified to conclude that comal harris is a dangerous
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: san francisco liberal based upon what she campaigned the last time she ran for president
[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and what this administration has done for the last four years that is senator tom cotton
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_02]: saying look we have her word she made those statements she hasn't changed her mind as far
[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: as we can tell she's just allowed an associate of hers to say no she no longer believes in that
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and again one of the things that senator tom cotton said is you would have thought watching the
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_02]: democratic convention last week the democrats were not in office that they're not in power
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_02]: that they're campaigning against an incumbent republican and in result we're talking about
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the failures of a republican not the last three and a half years of a biden harris administration
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: so anyway the back and forth was kind of interesting and you can watch the actual audio but i think
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: it's a good illustration of the fact that if you're going to be wise and discerning about
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: some of these campaign statements in the old days again since some kind of an old guy around
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_02]: the table when we didn't have all the videos that we have now it was really possible for a
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_02]: politician to say one thing to one audience and one thing to another audience and when somebody
[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: would bring up the contradiction they'd say oh that's just your perception i didn't really say
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: that but in this world with not only we have video cameras going all the time everybody's walking
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_02]: around with a video camera on their phone you can actually catch people doing some of those
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_02]: statements and so the game that's being played right now is well she did say that in the past
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: but she doesn't believe that in the present well okay it's time to get an a sit down interview
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: and say that you have changed your mind and then to explain why because you said some of these
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: things with a very strong emphasis on wanting to change the health care system of america
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: wanted to provide taxpayer funded health insurance to illegal aliens you want to decriminalize illegal
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_02]: immigration and a number of other issues that senator tom cotton raised in that interview
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_02]: and jonathan carl says well she doesn't believe that anymore well how do you know
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_02]: has she told that to you if anything bernie sanders has said i'm really upset about the
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: fact that she's hiding her perspectives so which is it i think those are questions that a
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_02]: reasonable and responsible media should be asking and the fact that they're playing along
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: i think illustrates why you have to exercise even more discernment in this election of 2024
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: let's take a break we have a lot more to cover i've left on the watch on the table
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_01]: we'll cover that right after this in 19th century london two towering historical figures did battle
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: not with guns and bombs but words and ideas london was home to carl marx the father of communism
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_01]: and legendary baptist preacher charles spurgen london was in many ways the center of the world
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_01]: economically militarily and intellectually marx ought to destroy religion the family and
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_01]: everything the bible supports spurgen stood against him warning of socialism's dangers
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_01]: spurgen understood christianity is not just religious truth it is truth for all of life
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_01]: where do you find men with that kind of wisdom to stand against darkness today get the light you
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_01]: need on today's most pressing issues delivered to your inbox when you sign up for the view
[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_01]: points commentary at point of view dot net slash sign up every weekday in less than two minutes
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_01]: you'll learn how to be a person of light to stand against darkness in our time it's free so visit
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_01]: point of view dot net slash sign up right now point of view dot net slash sign up
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: point of view will continue after this you are listening to point of view
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_01]: the opinions expressed on point of view do not necessarily reflect the views of the management
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_01]: or staff of this station and now here again is curvy anderson final half hour let me just mention
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that we are going to now look at a couple of issues that you probably have not heard about
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and those are the kinds of things i like to talk about here on point of view
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: but just real quickly they've just mentioned that uh... we oftentimes try to promote
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_02]: good films and i don't know how this happened because we've had the kindrick brothers in studio
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_02]: with us before and we've promoted every one of their films and this time they never contacted
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_02]: us but over the weekend actually on friday had a chance to watch the forge and i would highly
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_02]: recommend it first of all it includes at least three or four of the actors from war room
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and of course you're very familiar with the kindrick brothers and this one i think
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: some people have told me they think it's the best film on discipleship christian discipleship what it
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: means to be a disciple and follow the lord so anyway i just wanted to mention that i'll probably get
[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_02]: into talking about a little bit more tomorrow in the first hour because i recognize some radio
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_02]: stations only carry the first hour and i do want to mention that again but whether it is
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_02]: the forge which is in theaters right now or the reagan movie that will be out at the end of
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_02]: the week which i've heard good things about as well or god is not dead the latest issue
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: in god we trust which comes out in september there are just quite a number of really good christian
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_02]: films that are out right now and we've oftentimes said the best thing we can do is send a message to
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: hollywood and to others that indeed we want to see more of those kinds of films and i think it's
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: encouraging that the kindrick brothers of course it comes out under their own name and under providence
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_02]: films but also under sony and in the past sometimes we've had a chance to meet a few people at sony
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_02]: pictures who are christians who actually have a vision to actually provide some faith affirming
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: kinds of films so nevertheless if you've been hearing about the forge and you say i haven't
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: heard anybody at point of view talk about that i wonder if it's a good film yes it is and it was
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: highly recommended i've had a few people even my son school last week sunday i should say yesterday
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_02]: had somebody stand up and say i really think it's the best film i've ever seen i thought okay that
[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_02]: may be a little bit hyperbole but that's how strong it was for her and it had some others people
[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that was just an excellent film best film this year so i do recommend it we'll talk more
[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_02]: about films tomorrow but i just thought that somehow we missed the opportunity to promote that
[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: came out on friday and if you have not had a chance to see it i would recommend it
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_02]: let's get into a couple of issues some that you're really have to scratch your head to
[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: figure out what why aren't people more concerned about that and the one i alluded to which
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: again for those of you that remember one of the greatest oil spills in history coming from
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_02]: the exxon valdez well this one is even worse and i bet many of you are just hearing about it for
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the first time now let's give credit where credit is due jim garret he's the one that first educated
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_02]: me about this and we've mentioned him before posted many of his pieces but we have the
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: hoothies remember them they are iranian backed terrorist group they've been flying
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_02]: drones and the rest and they have attacked the oil tanker mt delta misunion and as a result we are
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: dealing with now because of the hoothies blowing up oil tankers a massive massive oil spill and
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: as jim garret he said it's easier to wonder why we're not hearing about this in the news
[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: because think about the individuals that are part of the environmental movement who why don't you
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: give you grief about eating a big mac driving an suv using a gas stove or even telling you that
[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: you should not be using air conditioning those are just a few of the latest environmental issues
[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_02]: meanwhile of course you have the hoothies and a lot of these muslim radical groups
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_02]: they're carrying out all sorts of evil including partial unlimited slavery he talks about in the
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: rest and here you have this attack which is now created an incredible disaster but don't take the
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_02]: word of jim garret he because he writes for national review let's take the word of the state department
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_02]: this comes from matthew miller who is the spokesperson for the state department in which on saturday he
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: said the united states is gravely concerned by the hoothies attack against the oil tanker mt
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_02]: delta schoonion the hoothies continued attacks threatened to spill a million barrels of oil into
[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_02]: the red sea an amount are you ready for this four times the size of the xon valdez disaster while
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: the crew has been evacuated the hoothies appear determined to sink the ship in its cargo into
[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_02]: the sea through these attacks the hoothies have made it clear that they're willing to destroy
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_02]: the fishing industry and regional ecosystems that the humanities and other communities in the region
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: rely on for their livelihood just as they have undermined the delivery of vital humanitarian aid
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: to the region to their reckless attacks by the way when you heard um on the democratic national
[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: convention that some of these vital supplies did not make it to the um issue of um gaza
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_02]: the implication was we have to blame of course blame drama don't draw for everything although how
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_02]: could you do that blame at least the israelis it had nothing to do with the israelis had everything
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_02]: to do with the hoothies been nevertheless we call them the hoothies to seize their actions of course
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: that's not going to happen and of course they've been escalating their attacks now let's go back
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_02]: to january when then the president oh by the way isn't he still president i think he's still
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_02]: is it still biden still president i think he's still president back in january he talked about how
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_02]: the hoothy rebels were escalating their attacks against commercial vessels and he made the statement
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_02]: in january direct quote i will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: and the free flow of international commerce as necessary and so again jim garity with a little
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: bit of tongue placed in chic said hey mr president how are those further measures
[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_02]: actually doing in terms of that and so again you can see that we are dealing with right now the navy
[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_02]: engaged and this is their words the most intense combat in the red sea since world war two red sea
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_02]: shipping lanes are where we have the u.s navy trying as best as they can to prevent an environmental
[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: disaster and the sinking of a ship that would be just desperate and then of course he goes on to
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_02]: remind us that one of the biggest problems we have right now is we seem to be cutting back
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_02]: on what indeed uh the u.s navy needs and so more recently you've had all sorts of questions
[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_02]: related to that because according to the military sea lift command they have actually
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_02]: have a plan to remove crews from 17 navy support ships and why due to the lack of qualified mariners
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_02]: to actually operate the vehicles and if you come back to something we've talked about before i did
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_02]: a commentary on the fact that not only do we have millions of young men who could be in the
[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_02]: military but they're not looking for work they're not working and they're not looking for work but
[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: then you have millions more which i've documented in my commentary in which they're just simply
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: unemployable they're not employable by private sector they're not employable by the public sector
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: of course when you've had a military that's gone woke you actually just don't have enough people
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_02]: in the navy to actually be on those ships to protect those shipping lanes and thus the disaster we have
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_02]: if you're not familiar here's one last statistic worth considering the united states currently
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_02]: has the smallest active duty force it has had since 1940 the biden administration to be fair
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_02]: inherited a military with 1,333,000 active duty personnel but now they have 1284 so that's a decline
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_02]: of about 50 000 in the last three and a half years so some of that happened maybe under obama
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_02]: and trump but look at what has happened under biden and if you want to understand why we are in
[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_02]: the midst of what could be one of the greatest environmental disasters that you probably haven't
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_02]: even heard about it's because we just don't have enough people to put on navy ships i was going
[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_02]: to talk about the fact that we left some astronauts up in the space station but we'll get to that one
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_02]: tomorrow that's pretty interesting as well and that's another one of those disasters
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_02]: but i thought i just mentioned in passing that some people are very concerned also
[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_02]: as i mentioned at the outset that the founder of telegram was actually arrested by french authorities
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_02]: and that i think illustrates again the real concern that there has been a growing war
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: with the european union through the digital services act to go against anything of free
[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_02]: speech now of course the justification is as well that app is allowed for organized crime drug
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_02]: trafficking fraud as if it is the only place that's taking place in social media but nevertheless
[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe tomorrow we'll get into that and bigger issues because it illustrates i think only so
[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_02]: well why robert f kennedy jr said oh we've got to even if we may disagree with donald trump
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_02]: at least go with a group that believes in free speech because it's pretty obvious
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_02]: what is happening in europe and what's happening in the trump admi- biden administration
[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_00]: needs to change be right back you're listening to point of view your listener supported source
[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_02]: for truth back for a few more minutes let me just mention tomorrow we will spend the first
[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_02]: hour kind of getting into some of these other issues and really getting educating you about
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: some things that are happening of some of behind the scenes but the second hour we're going to have
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_02]: with this an individual james burling which is in his book is nowhere to live now what it's all about
[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_02]: is this housing crisis we're getting to a point now where more and more americans cannot afford
[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_02]: a house that's so-called american dream how did that happen now i've been writing about this
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_02]: i've done some commentaries about it i just finished an article that won't come out till probably i guess
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_02]: it's the november outlook yes we write that far ahead sometimes in terms of housing but we're going
[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: to try to understand that again no matter who the next president is we are going to have and
[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll continue to have a housing crisis the younger generation generation y generation z are
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: saying i don't think i'll ever be able to afford a house there are some answers but you
[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: first have to understand that we have a problem and when there's just a waving of the hand both
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_02]: really in the republican convention and especially the waving of hand in the democratic convention
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and saying well that's just uh something we'll fix well no you won't and coming up with the idea
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: of giving first-time home buyers twenty five thousand dollars if you understand anything
[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_02]: about supply and demand that is the worst possible solution there are better solutions
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: but you have to acknowledge that it even exists in the first place and understand how that we got
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_02]: there so we're going to spend an hour in the second hour tomorrow getting into that in some detail
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but just before we're done two more articles i've posted for you to read and i wanted to post
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_02]: this one just to make it clear that i'm not arguing that every sort of liberal news outfit
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_02]: is in the tank for kamala harris sometimes they are at least i have enough integrated to say wait
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_02]: a minute there's a few problems here that we need to address and we're not just going to cover
[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_02]: those over so again it's interesting that a rider for atlantic that would be nancy rommelman
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: has been very critical of democrats for what he she calls the covet amnesia she says president
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: joe biden claimed had kell malhares accomplished an excellent task of reopening the nation and
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_02]: is not even any evidence for that is all she pointed out the schools were closed to remain
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_02]: closed in large part because in some cases democratic run cities wanted to do that whereas
[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_02]: republican governors wanted to do just the office it and she said democrats might count on
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: americans to be forgiving but they're not stupid and they would do well to let the pageantry
[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: have televised politics obfuscate the fact that they're being lied to now she turns her aim also
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_02]: on donald trump pointing out that when he was president under his leadership we had the six
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_02]: foot distancing rules and the mask mandate so she's certainly not only focusing on the democrats
[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_02]: but she points out that if you were to watch the democratic national convention
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you would think everything was fine and she points out that teachers unions political appointees
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and others kept the schools closed longer than they should have been closed children were worse
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_02]: off in america than in other places and she says in our supposed exuberance over kamala harris
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: are we somehow supposedly to an event a memory of her heroically trying to pry open the schools
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_02]: she's pretty strong on that regard and she says look kamala harris didn't do anything to change the
[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_02]: administration's policies instead of facing down the teachers unions and urging local jurisdictions
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_02]: to reopen the schools immediately the biden administration decided to buy to try buying
[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_02]: their cooperation so what did biden mean when he said harris helped states and cities get
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_02]: their schools back open they're taking on some really important issues so again you know you're
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_02]: in trouble when some of your more left-wing media outlets are saying no we're not going to let you
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: off with that particular one we certainly cannot engage in what she calls covid amnesia so again
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: sarah arnold takes about three almost three pages to summarize some of the things coming from
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_02]: the author nancy rommelman about the biden and harris administration when it relates to covid
[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_02]: one last one though i thought it also point out the fact that we indeed also have a couple of other
[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_02]: issues and that is the whole issue of the connection between tim waltz and the communist
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_02]: chinese party that was something that so far has been downplayed but i give you a very good piece
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_02]: where there was an interview done with peter schweitzer now if you've listened to point of
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_02]: you any length of time you know that peter schweitzer with the government accountability institute
[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_02]: has been looking at corruption for years lest you think he only focuses attention on democrats
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_02]: let me just remind you that one of the first interviews i ever did with peter schweitzer
[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_02]: was we was pointing out some of the concerns he had with the then speaker of the house denis
[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_02]: hastert who is a republican speaker of the house a member of congress from illinois and so he has
[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: pointed out some of the corruption in the speaker's office with denis hastert all the way
[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_02]: through nancy polosi and onward of course author of such books as blood money red-handed clinton
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_02]: rand
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_02]: the other day on fox news about whether or not the communist party might be grooming tim waltz and
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: he said well it goes back to the exchange program that tim waltz ran and brought hundreds of students
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: from the united states to china in these early press accounts tim waltz described it as unique
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and unusual and different a program that no one else has that's what he's saying about the
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: communist chinese program and at the same time he's bringing those students there
[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_02]: by students accounting tim waltz to say things like well in china nobody is poor everybody shares in
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: china as it is sort of a compulsive arm of the chinese communist party it's voluntary of course
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not first of all uh peter schweitzer said that's a ridiculous statement to make there are
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_02]: other comments he's made he told stowell students go into china to downplay their
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_02]: americanness there's an account of one student i haven't been able to independently verify it yet
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_02]: on which he brought back lots of copies of mao's little red book when he was in china
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: so this has been a long-standing relationship tim waltz has had for some time with the chinese
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: communist party first peter schweitzer has documented the connection between hunter biden and joe
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_02]: biden with the common chinese individuals a little bit later then they say well what about
[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_02]: the meeting with premier lee well he said that's interesting he goes back to china in 2016 with
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: a few other democrats he recounts how he's been meeting with the chinese officials and saying
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_02]: i was in china in december of 1989 and they said no it was february 1990 and so then peter schweitzer
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_02]: says that explains everything in other words china has been tracking him since he was a young man
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_02]: but in that meeting with premier lee it's a classic example what the chinese call big help and little
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_02]: big bad mouth what's that well tim waltz has been talking about the human rights condition in china
[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_02]: but never in the context of doing anything about that and during the meeting with premier lee told
[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_02]: premier lee well don't look at the united states as an example of how to do this because we
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_02]: don't know how to do it right either so again the moral equivalence between china and the united
[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: states so the idea is you can talk about human rights but don't do anything about it and create a
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: moral equivalence between what's happening in china and what's happening in the united states
[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_02]: so if you wondered a little bit about um the connection between tim waltz and china of course
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_02]: peter schweitzer has been documenting that you can go to his government accountability
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_02]: institute we might have him on again i'm sure another book is coming out sometime in the future
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_02]: no matter whether tim waltz is elected as the vice president or not so we'll leave that for another
[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_02]: day well hope you appreciated some of the conversation we've had here today we've got lots
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_02]: of issues that we've put on the table covid amnesia chinese communist party
