[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_02]: The Tuesday edition of Point of View was the first night of the Democratic National Convention.

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: We will get to a lot of that in this second hour.

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Had a chance last night to hear from Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden as well as Joe Biden

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: and we'll talk more about that in the next hours.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: As a matter of fact we've posted a number of articles for you to be looking at ahead

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: of time because we do want to talk about some of the events that transpired last

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_00]: night.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Also look ahead to the convention as well as to the election that is taking place in just

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_00]: over 70 days.

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So there is a lot to cover but we are privileged to have in studio with us the first hour.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Drew Hammer she is a business woman, a corporate secretary, board member.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_00]: If the name Hammer makes any sense we of course talked about Armand Hammer and her

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: son.

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about more of that in just a minute.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_00]: But she is the CEO and founder of HammeredHeart.org.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: You can find some of that information on the website.

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: We also have a link to the githope.ai website as well.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And of course we also want to spend some of the time talking about her family including

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_00]: the greatest inspiration in her life which was her father Douglas Mobley.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: She's a graduate of OSU and an individual that grew up in the Tulsa area but also

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: is an individual that has two sons Armand Hammer.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about that yesterday when we were promoting that she would be on the program.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Man from Uncle, Social Network and a variety of others certainly are all programs that

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: you might remember with him and also her son Victor Hammer.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's if we can get you closer to the microphone and welcome you to point of

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: view today.

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So Drew thanks for being here.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you Kirby for having me I appreciate it.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_00]: This book which we have that has now come out and if anybody's interested we have a link

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: to it on the website.

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I suspect you'll be able to find it in your local bookstore but for those of you watching

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: online and holding up and very colorful woman and a very colorful book as well but let's

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_00]: go back to Oklahoma first before we get into all the other stories because you had

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: a father that had a great vision and ministry of sharing the gospel with so many.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Can you share more about that?

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes I will.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Well neither of my parents were raised in a Christian home and actually my dad was led

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_03]: to Jesus by Kenneth Haken when he was a young businessman.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_03]: He used to go to lunch with these men who were Christians and he said they would hold

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_03]: hands and pray before the meal and he said I was so embarrassed I was mortified because

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd never been around that before but he said I kept watching their lives and that's

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: why I think it's so important how we live our lives because people watch us to see if

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_03]: we're hypocrites.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess we're all hypocrites one time or another but he said I kept watching these

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_03]: people's lives and I noticed they had a peace that I didn't have so he called them

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_03]: one day and he said you have something I don't have and they said well we have

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Jesus as our Messiah so they led my dad to Jesus and then Kenneth Hagen came in

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_03]: and started doing a very small Bible study in their home and my dad just took it and

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_03]: ran and my mom was the most supportive woman alive and he was a businessman because

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_03]: they were both raised extremely poor and he said I never want to raise my

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_03]: children like I was raised having that fear all the time are we going to make

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_03]: it so he became very ambitious but unfortunately to the exclusion of his

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_03]: family and that was before he found the Lord because his priority was success and

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_03]: getting ahead over what is really important in life and thank God they found

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_03]: out at a young age because that really changed our entire family's lives.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes and again you talk about that early on in the book and the fact that

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_00]: before we get to bringing in Michael the fact that he would also want to

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: interview some of your potential suitors and by the time you brought

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Michael in there said dad go easy on this guy go ahead well before I was like

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_03]: whatever you know wasn't important I knew it wasn't a serious relationship dad

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: get him saved if they don't come back whatever but this one I'm like no dad

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_03]: will you just do me a favor just take this one easy and they went into my

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_03]: dad's office and two hours later I was sweating buckets going oh my gosh my

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_03]: dad did not listen to me but apparently Michael also saw in my dad that my dad

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_03]: had something that he didn't have and I started talking to Michael about Jesus

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: the first night he invited me to dinner and it was really beautiful because when

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I would share Christ with them because that's who I am you know I always

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_03]: say if you meet me you're going to know five within five minutes what I

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you know what I believe in what I stand for because I always say what good

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_03]: is Christianity if you don't share it with others this is a dying world so I'm

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_03]: just an evangelist at heart because my father was an evangelist so when I

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_03]: would talk to him about the Lord that first night he goes wow he said I had

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_03]: a grandmother Dr. Armin Hammer his grandfather went to Russia and married

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_03]: a Russian Baroness and she was a Russian Orthodox and when Michael was

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_03]: a child they divorced but she had a home in Laguna and he would go down there and

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_03]: he said no one else knew the Lord he was she was the only Christian but it was a

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_03]: safe place for me and as a child innately I knew it was a safe place so I

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_03]: loved going down and staying with my grandmother and she had all these

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_03]: crucifixes around the house they would kneel down and pray before he went

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_03]: to bed every night so when I started talking about to him about Jesus all

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: those memories made a good letting back that he had just let you know become

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_03]: dormant in his life and again that was his safe place so when I talked to him

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_03]: about Jesus it was so easy for him to listen and come into that well again you

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_00]: mentioned of course his grandfather because when we say the name Armin

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Hammer people think of Occidental Petroleum and of course on various times

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_00]: we've talked about that family that you ended up marrying into so we'll

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: certainly talk about that as well but again at least what you were wanting

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_00]: them to understand is that you had seen all sorts of miracles taking

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: place through your dad's experience through your own personal life and now

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_00]: comes the time to get married in a marriage ceremony that is different

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: than perhaps anybody can imagine which let's give your mother credit for

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: what she put together but if I remember right and you mentioned that in the

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: book the biggest take away that I think vanity fair had is that there was no

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_03]: alcohol at the wedding right oh absolutely my parents we had it at the

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Tulsa club we got married in this gorgeous church yeah first United Methodist

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_03]: in Tulsa and over a thousand people came and because you know I mean it

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_03]: was it's a small town yeah and you know Armin had bought City Service which is

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_03]: headquartered in Tulsa whenever he would do business in the town he would always

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_03]: send his art collection so everyone in town knew of Dr. Armin Hammer by then

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_03]: so I think a lot of people came out of curiosity sake and then everyone went

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_03]: up to the Tulsa club and there were these huge round silver bowls in ice

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_03]: that Martin Ellie sparkling apple juice and I'm sure his friends from

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Columbia had no idea what they were walking into I think they were sneaking

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_03]: down going to the bar in between right right but you know what my dad said I

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_03]: don't care how anybody else believes we don't do this and I'm not serving it

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_03]: so I loved him for it and I think Armand really respected my dad because

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_03]: of that and my dad always had amazing opportunities to minister to him

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_03]: because a he didn't want anything from him right and Armand saw that and I

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_03]: had that opportunity to and that's why God put me in that family we're gonna take

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: a break and we come back we'll talk about the coming back from this wedding

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and all of a sudden going into the home of Armin Hammer and the whole

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_00]: expectations that were part of that because that's part of your story as

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: well as part of the book hammered and again we have information about it

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: on our website let's take a break we'll be back right after this

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_02]: this is viewpoints with Kirby Anderson three months ago I wrote about the

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_00]: disconnect between the mainstream media and American citizens concerning crime

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: statistics the media says that crime is decreasing but according to the latest

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Gallup survey on the subject nearly all Republicans and a majority of

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Democrats thought crime was increasing the disconnect now seems to be between

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: the members of the Biden administration and the public secretary of

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_00]: transportation Pete Buttigieg went on television to argue that if you look at

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: up at home you will find that crime went down under Biden and crime went up

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: under Trump why would America want to go back to the higher crime we

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_00]: experienced under Donald Trump as explained back in my previous commentary

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: if you decide to defund the police arrest rates will go down and people

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: will be less inclined to report crime professor John Lott writes about

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: the truth about the crime explosion the American people can see that crime

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_00]: is increasing he says when they go to a CVS or Walgreens and find many of the

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: products behind glass but not only his property crime increasing but so is

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: violent crime explains that crime is reported in two ways the first issue

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: the FBI's national incident based reporting system which only counts

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: crime reported to police the others the national crime victimization

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_00]: survey that asks about 240,000 people each year whether they have been

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: victims of crime those numbers are much higher if there are fewer police on

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: the street there will be fewer arrests and if people think criminals won't be

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_00]: caught and punished they're less likely to report a crime to the police and

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_00]: some DA's have been actually downgrading felonies to misdemeanors

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_00]: there's a crime explosion even if the media and the administration

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_00]: refused to admit it I'm Kirby Anderson and that's my point of view

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: for a free booklet on a biblical view of anti-semitism go to

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: viewpoints.info slash anti-semitism viewpoints.info slash anti-semitism

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_02]: you're listening to point of view your listener supported source for truth

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: that runs again we are talking today with Drew Hammer let me just mention in

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: just a few minutes we will once we get past the story talk about the get

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: hope dot AI which is an interactive technology platform which will allow

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_00]: her to answer questions about the Bible and other things there's also a one

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: year walk through the Bible and a variety of other resources that you want

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: to know this book has been out for a couple months now and if you find it

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_00]: in your local bookstore I would encourage you to purchase it course her son

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: army hammer has given an endorsement her son Victor has as well as

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Kathy Lee Giverd just to mention a few that again is a very readable book

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and I think you're going to really appreciate the conversation but

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: drew let's get into it now you've married into this family

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_00]: you walk into a room and fabric J eggs and

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_00]: a moneys on the on the wall I mean we're talking about something very

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_00]: different

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: then growing up in Tulsa Oklahoma are we yes we are it's a good thing that I

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_03]: didn't really know what most of them were

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I you know if I would have known I would have been much more

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_03]: intimidated but I walk in and you know arm and Dr. Hammer only had one

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: son and then Julian his son only had one son and one daughter so it was

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_03]: this tiny family there were five of us so when I walked in they had this man

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_03]: in a tuxedo playing a grand piano and I'm looking around thinking is is

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_03]: there a party or other people coming and it was just the five of us

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_03]: with this huge tub of Russian caviar and I mean it was just you know our

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_03]: family was like the Norman Rockwell family where we had yes monogrammed

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_03]: matching flannel pajamas at Christmas so I thought I had walked into the

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Twilight Zone well again one of the things you said that I thought was

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_00]: very funny is you would have very elaborate Christmas programs and

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Christmas celebrations Christmas Eve and Christmas day have all sorts of

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: gifts you go there and you get some stock for Occidental I think it was

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_03]: something like that. Yes he handed us an envelope with stock in it that was a

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Christmas gift but I'm looking back and I'm thinking well it was a much

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: better gift than I knew to appreciate back then but I know God

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_03]: sovereignly put me into that family because they were arm and was a

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Russian Jew right and we know all the stories there and I won't get into

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_00]: all those but you can hit Wikipedia and find some of those very well

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_03]: documented go ahead right well and speaking on that it's really funny

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_03]: because you know so many people have written that he was a communist and I

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: was like no I'm pretty sure he was a capitalist he was not a

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: communist but it was just such a completely different style of life and

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I was thrown into the deep end and I didn't really know what to do and at

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_03]: first I was very intimidated of course because I was thrown into these

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_03]: lab you know lavish lavish excuse me parties and dinner parties and black

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_03]: tie events but I will I'd love to tell a little story if I could in my book is I

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_03]: was seated next to this man an elderly gentleman in a wheelchair and I was

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: intimidated thinking everyone in this room is blue blood and I'm sure

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_03]: they've all gone to Ivy League schools and on the front page of Wall

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Street journals what in the world am I doing here this small town girl from

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Tulsa Oklahoma going to Oklahoma State University which I loved and I was

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_03]: very intimidated I thought I don't know how to dress these women are dripping

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_03]: in jewels what am I gonna talk to them about and this elderly gentleman

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_03]: sat next to me in a wheelchair and he introduced himself and he said my

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_03]: name's James and I said oh I'm Drew Hammer and he said oh my gosh Armin's one

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_03]: of my best friends he told me all about you and he told me how you all you know

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_03]: met on an airplane and he said I just have to ask you how in the world did you

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_03]: end up here from Tulsa Oklahoma and I said Jesus and he said what do you mean

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_03]: and I said I grew up in a family where they prayed for the right godly

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_03]: mates our parents always told us that choosing to follow Jesus and taking him

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_03]: in as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you'll ever make and

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_03]: the second most important is who you marry because you're gonna spend the

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_03]: two become one and you spend the rest of your lives with them and I said I

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_03]: just know that my parents prayed and here I am and I just pray that I can

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_03]: make a difference for Jesus in this crazy big world and he started crying and

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I said are you okay and he said yes may I tell you a story and I said yes sir he

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_03]: said my name is James Roosevelt and I'm the oldest son right president

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Roosevelt and I used to campaign with my father and we campaigned by train

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and every time we would stop at the train stations in each town my father

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_03]: would say to me James if God wants me to be president we need to pray that

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_03]: God gives me favor with the people and he said all the way through his campaign I

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_03]: went with him and was kind of his campaign manager and he said the day my

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_03]: father got elected he said now James we need to go into the Oval Office and we

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_03]: need to thank God and I loved hearing that that he prayed that he actually

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_03]: was a praying man it's beautiful and he was crying and he said drew I

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_03]: haven't thought of that in 50 years and I said James it's time for you

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_03]: to bring your life back to Jesus and that's why you were seated next to me so I

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_03]: took his hand he rededicated his life or maybe dedicated I don't know and he

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_03]: invited Jesus into his life and he said I will never be the same I will love

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_03]: the Lord the rest of my life and right at that moment the Holy Spirit spoke

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_03]: to me and he said he didn't care about what you were wearing he didn't

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_03]: care that you were dripping in jewels what school you went to whether

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you went to an Ivy League or whatever you gave him something that no one else in

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_03]: this room would do you let him to me and drew that's why you're here and it's

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: all that mattered so I became very dangerous after that well you know I

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_00]: keep the plane of the train moving down the road because there's a lot

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_00]: to cover here and I thought one way to get into that is I remember one time

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_00]: reading that Armie Hammer grew up in the Cayman Islands and it wasn't

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_00]: until I read your book to figure out how that happened and that is your husband

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_00]: now he's married to you obviously and there's a whole section here about the

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: honeymoon and all that I once to now go to the Cayman Islands you're not

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_00]: going for it but he goes down and says I think I found the land and they

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_00]: build a house you guys build a house basically overlooking this beautiful

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: ocean view and so that at least explained to me how your two sons grew up

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_00]: in the Cayman Islands because I never figured out how that happened

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_03]: well we were living in Dallas at the time right and when he was in boarding

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_03]: school back east he had a friend that lived in a Caribbean island and he

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_03]: always said someday I'm going to take my children my family and we're gonna live

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_03]: there and we did and it was a wonderful experience but unfortunately 14 years

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_03]: ago we were divorced and it really really turned my life upside down and

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_03]: that's where the title came from yes it's a pun on my last name hammer but also

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_03]: every heart has been hammered and people may fail us but God will never fail us

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_03]: and that's really what this book is about because God's given me amazing

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_03]: experiences we've traveled all over the world you know I've done things and

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I never ever thought being from Tulsa Oklahoma I'd have the opportunity to do

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_03]: or people but I had met but I know that it was all a reason because God placed me

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_03]: there and I just kept thinking for 30 years we're married for 25 years how

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you know bloom where you're planted and that you know when God puts you

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_03]: somewhere he wants you to make a difference it's not just to have Jesus

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_03]: into your heart but who are you going to lead to Jesus let's talk about how

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: you were hammered because that middle section of the book actually is near

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the end talks about having to look through these huge documents having

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Michael's lawyers just basically intimidate you and as you said the

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_00]: quickest way to lose weight is simply to go through a divorce because there were

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: a divorce guy and yeah you were real thin so talk about that because I think

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_00]: some people might say well you lived a life of luxury well not in that

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_03]: particular point in time right well my sister Melinda and I actually were

[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_03]: talking yesterday that it doesn't matter what you have where you live where

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_03]: you come from every heart is going to be hammered we all have our own trials

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and if you think about it look at Jesus his whole life was trials

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_03]: persecution mocked flogged crucified why would we expect anything different

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_03]: but the reason why I was able to come out of these situations is because I

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_03]: chose forgiveness right and I think that's a problem today and that's one

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_03]: big message that I would like to get out in this book that if you do not forgive

[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_03]: a Jesus says if you can't forgive others I can't forgive you it starts with us

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_03]: being proactive on making the right choice and I meet a lot of women that

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_03]: are very better and extremely unhappy because they can't let it go and I

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_03]: decided you know it was a it was a process but I said God he may have

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_03]: hurt my present but I will not let bitterness or unforgiveness hurt my

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_00]: future when we come back from the break want to talk about the fact that

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_00]: not only hurt you but here you're helping to fund the dream center and

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_00]: then he closes the accounts and all of a sudden you don't have access to

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_00]: that some very important lessons there but then that of course gets into

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_00]: the ministry that you've had and the reason why I would encourage you as

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: we go to the break to find out a little bit more we have a link to her

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_00]: website we have a link to get hope at dot a i and course a link to the book all

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_00]: of it available on our website point of view dot net will be back right after

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_02]: this in 19th century London to towering historical figures did battle not

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: with guns and bombs but words and ideas London was home to Carl Marx the

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_02]: father of communism and legendary Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: London was in many ways the center of the world economically militarily and

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: intellectually Marx ought to destroy religion the family and everything

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: the Bible supports Spurgeon stood against him warning of socialism's dangers

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Spurgeon understood Christianity is not just religious truth it is truth for

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_02]: all of life where do you find men with that kind of wisdom to stand against

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_02]: darkness today get the light you need on today's most pressing issues delivered

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_02]: it's free so visit point of view dot net slash sign up right now point of view

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_02]: dot net slash sign up point of view will continue you are listening to point of

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_02]: view the opinions expressed on point of view do not necessarily reflect the

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_02]: views of the management or staff of this station and now here again is

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Kirby Anderson back once again drew hammer in studio with us the book is

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_00]: entitled hammered and again the book has been out for some time you may or may

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_00]: not be able to find it in your local bookstore but we have links on that

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_00]: already so if you would like to get a copy of it certainly the case and I

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_00]: mentioned before we went to the break drew that you were with the dream

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: center which I think very highly of a great great ministry to individuals

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_00]: that have been in prostitution human trafficking just been out on the

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_00]: streets all sorts of different issues and you began to get involved in

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: ministry and of course you've always been involved in ministry ever since

[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_00]: you were certainly being raised by your father Douglas Mobley but in some

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: respects you were very much hands-on and then I mentioned what happened

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_00]: that is the individual divorce and you Michael decided I'm just going to

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: pull the rug out from under you financially and I think there's a lesson

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_00]: there for any woman listening right now make sure you have your own checking

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_00]: account make sure you have your own credit cards in your name and you were

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_00]: all of a sudden a situation where I can't help these women who are very

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_00]: desperate can you fill in the gaps therefore yes so I got involved

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_03]: because I called Carolina Matthew Barnett who started the dream center

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_03]: and I said we travel all the time but I want to get involved how can I do

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_03]: this so I started once a month just having a little birthday parties for

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_03]: the women that were in the program and the first time I did it I had a

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_03]: woman come up to me and she was in her 30s and she was sobbing and she

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_03]: said this is the first time in my life anyone's ever given me a

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_03]: birthday party and I it just broke me so for 10 years I would go down

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_03]: once a month and then when I was in town I would do it more often and

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I would have big Christmas parties and take them all to Sephora and get

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_03]: their makeup done and give them gift certificates and you would have

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_03]: thought that I would what they had won the lottery and it really really

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_03]: changed my life but it was interesting because I would always say to

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_03]: them because I would always give a little sermon at before I took

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_03]: everyone to dinner or lunch and I said you have to forgive and it's

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_03]: not because they deserve to be forgiven but because Jesus calls us

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_03]: to forgive but at that time I had never had to truly forgive anything

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_03]: large and then when I found out about the betrayals in my marriage

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_03]: all of a sudden it was turned on me and I had to basically put my money

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_03]: where my mouth was and when I would go down the Lord said don't stop

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and I liken it to I really believe that when you're going through the

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_03]: largest trial of your life and problems

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_03]: the greatest way to get out of it is you start going out and

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_03]: ministering to others and then God heals you while you're doing that.

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like Job, you know when Job once he started praying for his quote

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_03]: unquote friends who were really enemies saying you must have done

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_03]: terrible before God for this to happen and as soon as God called him

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_03]: and he started praying for his enemies God restored everything double fold.

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_03]: So I would go down and these women who are living in bunk beds at the LA Dream

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Center which was luxury compared to what a lot of them came from.

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Of course.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_03]: But literally they would say to me they would say Drew we've been praying for

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_03]: you how did your court case go and I was like wait a minute you're praying for me

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_03]: and that really changed my life forever it just broke me

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_03]: and it just made me realize that when you're really going through sorrow and tragedy

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_03]: go out and do things for others and God will heal you in the meantime and that's what happened.

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_03]: But all bank accounts were closed and all of a sudden I couldn't buy lunch for them.

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't take them to dinner and I had my own business.

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I had renovated 27 properties by then in the LA Beverly Hills area

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_03]: and you know you just I think it's the betrayal you're like how can you do that to me?

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You know I was a good wife I was a good husband I mean a good mother and that is a matter because

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_03]: people will fail us sometimes but God will never fail us.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes well again that is one opportunity to just maybe pass on a lesson and that is the need

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_00]: for forgiveness but also the need for women to protect themselves even in those situations.

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Also you were a part of child help which again is a charity helping victims of

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_00]: various kinds of abuse. As a matter of fact you have seen some of the booklets here and we do things

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_00]: on abuse all the time and it does seem to me that that was another very important aspect of your

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_03]: life wasn't it? Oh my gosh so two women they're now 90 years old they started 65 years ago

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_03]: they have saved over 12 well I should say God has saved over 12 million children through them

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_03]: but Sarah was radically healed from stage 4 cancer when they were literally checking her out of the

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_03]: hospital to go home and die and this is 45 years ago and she went to a Catherine Kuhlman meeting

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_03]: she was in her hospital bed and sees Catherine on TV and says that she you know is advertising

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_03]: that she's having a meeting there in Los Angeles went and Catherine literally said youth the

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_03]: woman up in the balcony in the red and she had left the hospital room took the IVs out was

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_03]: bleeding when she went and God miraculously healed her so not only does she do child help but she has

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_03]: a healing ministry herself because she ended up traveling with Catherine but they were actresses

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and God called them they were both on the Ozzie and Harriet show and a lot of those television

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_03]: programs and God called them into this they left everything behind and they both say we would have

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_03]: lived the most self-absorbed life being actors in Hollywood and look what God has allowed us to do

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_03]: and they have they're the most diligent hardworking women in the world but when I went there

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_03]: they took me under their wing and they became mamas to me and I again that was after my

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_03]: divorce when I was so broken and then I got involved in child abuse and that was another element that

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_03]: really healed me when I started working with abused children and if I may I'd love to tell a

[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_03]: quick little story about that I went down to the police station where the children come in

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_03]: and now they have advocacy centers where they take them straight there so it's not terrifying

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_03]: for children and there was a little Hispanic boy about four years old and he was so traumatized

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_03]: because he didn't even know he was in child abuse it's all he had ever known and all of a sudden

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_03]: these policemen come and take him away from his parents even though they were the abusers

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_03]: and he was so traumatized he couldn't even look at anyone and it was like seven o'clock

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_03]: at night and I went and picked up a bunch of happy meals for all the kids that came in

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_03]: and I handed all the happy meals out and he wouldn't touch his food and I walked over

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_03]: to him and I said may I unwrap your hamburger for you so you can eat and he just stared straight

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_03]: ahead and I said aren't you hungry and he just stared couldn't even look at me and I thought oh

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Lord you've got to give me wisdom how to handle this child and let him know that someone loves him

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_03]: and right then that little Sunday school song came to my mind that Jesus loves me this I know

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_03]: for the Bible tells me so so I knelt down next to him and I said may I tell you a secret

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_03]: and he couldn't look at me and I started singing that song in his ears and as soon as I did he

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_03]: grabbed his burger he wrapped he sat on my lap he crawled in my lap wrapped his arms around me

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_03]: and was eating his hamburger with his arm around my neck and he put his head on my shoulder

[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_03]: and I just began bawling and I said God that's what people need they need to know that Jesus loves

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_03]: them Jesus with skin on as I say oh yes and he followed me around that whole night and I couldn't

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_03]: stand it I didn't want to leave but they won't give you last names but I know that Jesus touched

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_00]: him that night and that God has him it's just incredible stories in this book and of course

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_00]: in your own life but we're going to go to a break in just a minute but I thought I would also talk

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_00]: about where you're going in the future one of my booklets and matter of fact I have a new book

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_00]: coming out that has a chapter on artificial intelligence now there's some real negative

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_00]: things about artificial intelligence but you're using it in a very significant way it's called

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_00]: get hope dot ai if you would like to follow that you can click on the picture there of

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_00]: drew follow it down right under her picture it takes you to get hope dot ai there's a nice little

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: video introduction about a minute long and then it just gives you all sorts of information about

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_00]: hammered drewville hammered heart collection but also just the opportunity to chat about what the

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_00]: bible says and drew this is one of things I think we're going to have to think about because

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_00]: it used to be this idea that if we build enough churches people will come and I call that the field

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_00]: of dreams myth if we build it they will come you know we have 350,000 churches in this country and

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_00]: they're not coming the younger you are the less likely you are to walk in the door of that church

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_00]: so how are we going to reach them I think we could reach them through get hope dot ai can't

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_00]: wait many individuals have questions about this and sometimes they're really deep questions

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_00]: sometimes they're really superficial questions quite frankly sometimes they're really stupid

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_00]: questions but you've created a mad opportunity to use an interactive technology platform

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_00]: which I think is helpful also you've been talking about how to actually host a one year and have

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_00]: been developing a one-year walk through the bible so that people know the bible cover to cover

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_00]: so they know the whole council of gods we're going to take a break and when I come back

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I want you to talk about that because that's also something that we are featuring today on our

[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_00]: website at point of view dot net and as you're listening to this I might just mention there

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_00]: are probably some people that need to hear this so even though we will be certainly moving on

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to some other topics in the next hour if you say I'd like to share that with someone

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_00]: click on that red button that says watch or listen you could send it to someone else

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_00]: that maybe needs to know about forgiveness needs to know about God's word we'll take

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_01]: a break we'll be back right after this thing to point of view your listener supported source

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_00]: for truth back for a few more minutes we are privileged to have in studio with us for just a

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_00]: few more minutes drew hammer and we have a link to get hope dot ai if you go there right now the

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_00]: link is on the website you will see where you can sign up and there's all sorts of projects

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and resources and other things but I think it illustrates the use of a technology that can

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_00]: be used for good or evil artificial intelligence like the internet or anything else and you want

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_00]: to use that interactive technology platform to answer people's questions and I think that is a

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_03]: great avenue for evangelism isn't it I certainly believe so and people are so terrified of ai

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_03]: and they were afraid of the internet so it can be used for good and of course it will be used

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_03]: for bad as well but a friend of mine Scott saw an interview on 60 minutes and it was an ai if you

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_03]: google ai holocaust survivors on 60 minutes it shows this program so he called me and he said

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_03]: drew you led me to Jesus he said you're very convincing maybe you wore me out a little bit

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_03]: but you're very convincing and I think you should do one on the Bible and I said oh for heaven's

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_03]: sake so I'm not a Bible scholar surely God has people a lot more you know smarter than I am but

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I just the Lord wouldn't let me put it down and it was the hardest thing I've ever done because

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_03]: you're sitting in a chair for seven days for eight hours a day and you cannot move because

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_03]: you're like a holograph and then what happens is you ask questions and the ai spins it to the right

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_03]: answer because I think that's one of the pinnacle problems today is people don't know the word of

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_03]: God and I believe that the Bible is our manual how Jesus wants us to live our lives and it's

[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_03]: also a faith builder you know I just left a Bible study I have you know two leaders Jane

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_03]: and Dawn and you know they are just on fire for Jesus and I live under great teaching like that

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but a lot of people don't have access to that so you can get on and ask questions and it will

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_03]: spin the question to the right answer and it's not the Bible according to drew hammer what does

[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_03]: the Bible say so what we did is we researched from atheists agnostics different religions

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_03]: what they would ask if they were going to ask questions about Jesus and one of them is what

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_03]: c.s. Lewis would say you cannot say that Jesus was a good man was a good prophet he's a lunatic

[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_03]: that would be like me saying I'm the Messiah you can't get to God except through me so I answer a

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_03]: lot of those things and then I bring in the Bible verses with that so he's either exactly who he

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_03]: says he is or he's the biggest fraud that ever lived and I know that I know that I know that he

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_03]: is the Messiah because I was actually healed and that this is another chapter in my book I was healed

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_03]: from an incurable kidney disease polycystic kidneys so again one of the things that I'm noticing is

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_00]: we've had Lee Strobel on as well and of course his latest book is the whole question of does

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_00]: God exist and that question ask in different ways is ask almost 200 times every second worldwide he says

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and that's why he actually titled the book why God and it's a series of interviews he's done with

[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_00]: other individuals but again this is where I think the future of evangelism and dare I say

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_00]: apologetics how we answer the biblical answers and provide answers for that is going because

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of young people that are never going to walk into that Bible study you just walked out of

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_00]: they're never going to walk into a church they might go to a small group study in a home but more

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_00]: likely they're going to be asking questions and when they're asking questions of Google or Wikipedia

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_00]: or whoever it might be sometimes they'll get something that's close to a biblical answer a

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_00]: lot of times they won't or as they say close but no cigar right that's right and that's part

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_00]: of the problem is that we have a situation where we can curse the darkness or you can light some lamps

[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and I think you are trying to light some lamps and really make that possible so if people want to

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: connect up with you because you have a walk through the Bible series as well talk about how

[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_00]: in the next few minutes because we only have a few minutes left with you through the links

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_00]: that we have provided there we have hammered of course we have the whole link as well to

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_00]: hammeredheart.org when appoint people there and of course you have all the information about

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_00]: different ministries and the rest how can people connect up with you and what will they find when

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_03]: they land on those websites well drewville and that name came because I've renovated over 40

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_03]: properties now and my sons tell people that they grew up in whoville because I decorate like

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_03]: my book and hot pinks and lime greens and all that so I thought well drewville and

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_03]: that's my brand where I sell not only the book you get on drewville.com but also different products

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_03]: that I believe the Lord has inspired me to have manufactured and it will go into my foundation

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_03]: but what I did is after I did the AI program I kept thinking okay people can get on and ask

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_03]: questions but again we had spoken earlier how I really believe the Bible is our daily manual

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_03]: how God wants us to live and we learn his character and we learn his miracles you know he is a supernatural

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_03]: miraculous God so when I was doing that the Lord kind of put it on my heart do a 360 journey

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_03]: and I have also I have little books that go along with it study journals and it gives

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_03]: the scriptures because not everyone has a one-year Bible and it gives the Bible scripture for the

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_03]: day and in 15 minutes a day I just walk through the Bible and I hopefully make it more interesting

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_03]: than just reading not that the Bible isn't interesting I'm not saying that of course

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_03]: but what I did was I studied it historically and I thought for example the story of the Queen

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_03]: of Sheba is so fascinating to me that she came 1200 miles on camelback that is true love when

[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_03]: you travel on camelback and you know apparently he wrote Song of Solomon I mean Song of yes of Solomon

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_03]: because of the Queen of Sheba and they had a love affair but I love even Jesus quoted her and said

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_03]: she came not knowing the one true God but left knowing God knowing the left a believer

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_03]: and you look at today how many believers are in Ethiopia so I think that's also fascinating

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_03]: to me how historically the Bible just brings everything together and how you know he's a

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_03]: God of details so what I try to do is bring in a lot of interesting historical facts as well

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_00]: again we have links to of course drewville.com hammeredheart.org of course gethope.ai and also

[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_00]: of course the book hammered itself so we have covered quite a bit of material but if you

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_00]: find yourself saying I'd like to know a little bit more this book is available you may be able to

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_00]: find it in your local bookstore but about 180 pages I think I remember yeah 20 chapters and again just

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_00]: an incredible story of your own life really a lesson of forgiveness a lesson of how even

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_00]: in the midst of some brokenness God from the midst of it can develop such a dynamic ministry

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_00]: so we appreciate you taking the time to be on studio and in on the program to be with us as
