[00:00:04] Broadcasting live from atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West. You are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show. Happy to have you along my fellow Americans, Sam Bushman, Liberty Roundtable live at Freedom Fest, baby.
[00:00:31] Incredible event. There's booths everywhere. There's breakout sessions going on now. The kickoff later on this evening. It's an event to behold libertarians everywhere. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. It's called the Freedom Fest. It happens every year. It's in Vegas and we are here live. Jared Green with me now. He's got an incredible family organization. Welcome, Jared.
[00:00:56] Thank you so much. Tell me a little bit about you then. Tell me about your growing up a little bit. How you got into this? Well, I mean, there's nothing that exciting. I grew up in just boring Utah. What are you talking about boring Utah? It's the place where all people are going to flow there unto biblical proportions, my friend. I think that is not home drum. That is rock and roll, God, family and country style, isn't it? Absolutely. So I'm from Utah. I grew up as a Latter-day Saint.
[00:01:25] So as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Absolutely. All right. I served a two-year mission. Where'd you go? Went to the New Jersey Morristown. Morristown. All right. Did you eat Panzerati when you were there? No. All right. Panzerati is good. You got to try it sometime. I'm going to have to try it out. Yeah, they got the Panzerati spot in South Jersey. You can check it out. Oh, it's all right. Anyway, keep going. So you went on a mission there. Yeah. English? English speaking. All right. Boy. And you learn to talk like a mafia man?
[00:01:51] I hear and there. I mean, all right. They, they, uh, this. Yeah. They put me with the Spanish missionaries plenty of times. All right. There you go. I got to go on a lot of splits. So you learn to eat jalapenos and stuff. All right. I'm with you. Yeah, exactly. All right. So tell me this then. You went on a mission and now you got a family, right? Yeah, I've got a family. I've got, uh, three kids. Okay. Three young kids. Okay. And I've actually from a, from a previous marriage, I have two older kids.
[00:02:18] Okay. So, so five now. Yeah. All right. And just in the year in 2022, um, I really got think that started taking a look around and two significant events happened that really kind of set me off on a journey on a path of traditional family. One of those I would say was the Uvalde shooting. Okay. And the reason that struck me so hard is one thing that nobody wants to talk about.
[00:02:47] And not that it's except for Sam Bushman. Cause I talk about everything, but okay, except I'm with you. Yeah. Uh, I think, uh, Mike Lee's that brought it up and they yelled him down. Anyway, a lot of these, um, shooters have in common as they come from a broken family and the Uvalde shooter came from a broken family. Yeah. You know what? There's with his grandma. There's several different components to virtually every one of them. Number one is that they don't have a father in the home.
[00:03:14] Yeah. Oftentimes, many times they don't have an engaged mother either. Uh, they don't have a relationship with God in any way. They've never been taught religious principles. So you, you, you sever God, you sever mom and dad. So you kind of sever the family. Then many of them don't do well with, uh, the opposite sex. So it's hard to get a date, hard to get a girl to pay attention to you or whatever the case may be. And then you'll find that most of them are in some kind of a counseling situation. And many of them are on psychotropic drugs. And you put all that together and you go, Hey, you've got the classic profile of a shooter.
[00:03:45] Absolutely. And so you take a look at that and you, you've got a script. It's got to affect these guys somehow for sure. When they don't, they don't have an intact family. And then the other thing, they have nothing to lose Jared. Yeah. That's the bottom line. Right.
[00:03:57] And the other thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was when Disney came out. Um, and we are, we all know about Disney, especially in 2022. Um, they came out in support of, um, woke movies or pride. And, and I just, that was it. I grew up with Disney and I just said enough. That is it. And I turned to my wife and I said, you know what I'm going to do? I said, I'm going to build a flag. I'm going to make the month of June traditional family month.
[00:04:28] And you'll see it on a billboard. I told her, and the billboard thing did come to pass. I had it last year. I had a bill in Alabama of all places. All right. A whole month on a big electric bill. Alabamas were all my birth families. I'm adopted and stuff like that. So I, but I was rescued by the Mormons or rescued by the members of the church. But both sides of my family was from Alabama. So yeah, there you go. So, uh, you got into the family. I get it.
[00:04:56] You know that Disney created a movie called little demon, right? I actually, you don't know about that. Well, Little Demon, let me just tell you the quick story here. Disney's behind it through a partner kind of organization. They built this movie called little demon and this woman has sex with Satan and their spawn, their child. This girl is little demon. It is the most psychotic story you've ever heard in your entire life. So that's where Disney is gone. Now we'll leave that, but you know, we set the record straight on, Hey, there you go. So you guys built this family organization.
[00:05:25] Give us the website. It's, um, family triumph.com family triumph.com. I tried to get traditional family.com, but they, that somebody took it and is selling it for, yeah, they're going to want on offers. Yeah. I understand family triumph.com. So the idea though, is you want to back the traditional God ordained family, right? Absolutely. All right. Which means one man, one woman. Now, can you define a woman though? Most people can't do that these days. Well, we can do that by chromosomes.
[00:05:52] XY. XY. And if you, if you were to die, if somebody was to die, they could take that skeleton years down the road and be able to identify that through DNA as a woman, as that skeleton belonging to a female. So no matter what they do in this life to try to change their gender, it just doesn't, it does. So you've got scientific backed XY. You've also got God ordained male and female
[00:06:19] created he them as kind of a second overlay to that. The other thing is, uh, when you say, you know, can you define a woman? Uh, I think it's pretty easy for people to, to realize the difference between men and women, right? I think they won't answer for political reasons. When you ask them the question, I don't think that they don't know. I think they know full well. I think what they won't do is answer it because they don't want to be politically trapped in what they know to be a fraud. I've got a three-year-old daughter now and I can ask her, is mommy a woman or a man? And she said,
[00:06:48] a woman. I asked her, Tyler, her brother, man, is he a boy or a girl? She says he is a boy. So this, this isn't rocket science. Little kids know the difference. So I got a granddaughter. She's literally three. And I said, Hey, is your dad, your buddy? No, he not my buddy. He's not a girl. I said, okay. Is it your, your sister, your buddy? Yeah. She's a girl. My dad's my dad. He's not my buddy.
[00:07:18] So it just tells the tale, isn't it? All right. So tell me about family triumph that you guys decided to kind of make your statement or your kind of proclamation of flag, right? You've got the pride flag, family triumph.org. Tell me what's there while we're getting the flag. So when you go there, it explains everything, why I came up with it. It does bring up Disney and brings up the Uvalde shootings. There you go. Um, you, so you've got the pride flag. We've know what that looks like. This right here is a traditional family flag. It's got a lot of
[00:07:46] biblical, um, significance to it. Yes, sir. Symbolism references. A man and a woman, the man is holding a spear. That is that he is the protector, the protector of the family. Um, she's got the trumpet. She is celebrating and proclaiming the traditional family. You got a clarion call for family and children. I understand. And you've got the stars. That's always going to represent deity. The, the family is ordained of God. And we're also like the stars of heaven.
[00:08:14] There's millions of us. And then you've got right here, the leaps, the leaps are fig leaves. That's a shout out to our first parents, Adam and Eve. It's a shall, so a shout out to modesty and cover up. And yes. And so, yeah. So the flag then what's your goal with it? So we create a flag. That's our symbol. That's our kind of clarion call to who we are, what we stand for, what we're advocating for. Well, the main, what do you do with it now? The main thing is to bring back. I mean,
[00:08:42] yeah, it gets to rival, you know, and I mean, I'll just put it out there. It is to rival it, ride. We don't appreciate the message that pride is bringing to the youth. We don't like the message that they're bringing to the traditional family. Um, yes. And more than that, we want to put the focus back on the traditional family, more visibility, more recognition. Absolutely. Man, woman, um, back in the spotlight. So my son-in-law's got a shirt. It says on the front straight pride
[00:09:13] and the back of what it says, thank the person that brought you into this world. What I like. So there you go. Uh, so tell me, what are you going to do with it then? We got the flag now as a goal to have everybody put these flags up in their homes. Uh, you know, how do we, how do we surface this in ways that it's identifiable and usable to gain a following, to get, well, we've done talking about it just like what we're doing now. The Tristel family, they, I mean, they're, it's study based when children do have a lot more security. They're a
[00:09:40] lot more confident when they're raised in a home with a mom and a dad. I mean, this is backed by study. It's backed by a gazillion studies, sir. Yeah. They do better in school when they're in an attacked family. Their grades are generally better. Sure. It's not to say that someone that comes from a broken home can't have those things. They can, but it just, the studies show that it's harder, more frequent in these situations. Sure. Poverty increases. The list goes on and on. Yeah. Yep. Absolutely. Uh, so I got a buddy, his name is Sean Bergen. He was a big New Year,
[00:10:09] New York news reporter. And, uh, he was covering a story that was tragic where a child did something crazy, got out of line. It was a fatherless home. And Sean dared to make the statement on the air. He says, you know, we've got to bring fathers back into the homes. They literally fired him from his position, uh, because he stood up for fatherhood. It was the true statement. So they try to make fathers the clown in our society. How do you respond? They do it. They do it in the movies. You know, unfortunately this started with the,
[00:10:38] um, program called the Simpsons. Yeah. We all think that that was funny, but that cartoon was incredibly destructive for our society. And we're still getting repercussions over that because it made Homer look like a big, dumb idiot. All right. And that's the, the father really is, is the one that leads out in the home. He should be the one instigating gospel teaching in the home. Um, mom does that too, but where you have both of them doing that,
[00:11:07] like you really need a man leading out. So you got the man with the spirit of civilized that. He's the protector. He's the servant. He's the humble leader. Uh, he's the guy that does, you know, Hey, is responsible. He puts it all on his shoulders and takes care of business. You know, they say on motherhood side of things, you know, the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, right? Yeah. And, uh, and unfortunately, um, a lot of your feminists will point at their single mom,
[00:11:35] um, a lot of people. And, and, you know, sadly, here's the problem. We want to commend that single mom for sticking with her children and to take care of her children. We want to come in them. The problem is we ended up with a mixed message there out, you know, it's like somebody in the military. We want to think that person that served at the same time, we don't back unbridled war at the same time. We don't, you know, back, uh, broken homes, uh, but we want to, you know, give credit where credit's due. And sadly it goes over wrong sometimes, right? Kind of like a lead
[00:12:02] balloon in many ways. Yeah. Yet the, the support is justified. Uh, but the real warning, it's kind of like women in society now to a woman that was in society before was disgraced if she got pregnant out of wedlock or whatever, uh, that might be the wrong message in many ways. Cause it's not very kind at the same time, you know, the opposite is like, Hey, what does she get a brownie button? What do we do? And it is a very difficult balance. I think the answer family triumph.com, you set the flag, you use the symbolisms to kind of illustrate. We want to live in the real,
[00:12:32] we have to live with that, but we really want to highlight the idea, right? I like that. That's exactly what we're trying to do is highlight the idea. I guess make the traditional family cool again. Just so you know, I have eight kids and 11 grandkids. So I don't, you know, so you know, I'm into the family brother. Yeah, I really like that. All right. If you can tell America one thing, you're, you're at freedom fest. So you're, you're front of freedom. You're, you're among libertarians. You're among all kinds of people. What would you say to the world? Jared, if you could just say anything you want, what would you say? You know,
[00:12:59] you're, you're able to speak to the whole world and you've got a minute. What would you tell them? Oh no. Um, I, what I would say is go ahead and embrace those libertarian principles. They have a lot of good things. Embrace conservative principles. They have a lot of good things. Um, don't get so hung out on the parties, you know, Democrat, Republican, my statement is the party's over, buddy. Vote your, vote your conscience, whatever you do, vote for the best candidates,
[00:13:25] vote for those that, you know, are not only going to be moral, we hope they will be, but that are going to go in and do the right things for the people, not become politicians that happens so many times. Amen to that, Jared. You know, some people say bringing booty back. We're saying we're bringing the traditional family back. Ladies and gentlemen, Jared Green style over at family triumph.com. Check it out and get the flag and God save the Republic of the United States of America. I can't agree more. Thank you.
