[00:00:04] Broadcasting live from atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West, you are listening to the Liberty Roundtable Radio Talk Show. Happy to have you along my fellow Americans, Sam Bushman from Liberty Roundtable Live again. Freedom Fest baby, having a fantastic time.

[00:00:31] I just had the biggest pizza I've ever eaten in my entire life. They have 30 inch pizzas over there people. It's called pizza. I mean, it's just crazy. $84 for a big 30 inch plus pizza. I did not get one of those. I did not eat the whole thing. I just had a piece or two. Anyway, crazy stuff. Our guest today, Josh Phillips. Been with us several times. He's with the Epoch Times.

[00:00:57] He's done a TV show for Epoch for a long time. Been a writer, a columnist, a researcher and more. And now he's doing his own show called The Josh Phillip Show. Welcome, sir. It's a pleasure being here. So, I got distracted and was late for this interview because I was talking to some of the other Epoch Times people. And I got distracted and ended up being late for the interview with Josh. So, I apologize for that. But it's the best excuse in the book, I figure. I appreciate it. Yeah, I would agree, actually. He was talking to the other Epoch Times people.

[00:01:27] The problem is I just got talking to them and got distracted. We were talking about where they were from. And they're from California and I was from California, too. So, anyway, we just got talking. I know you're California. Yeah, I live in Utah now. When I grew up in California, I grew up in a place called Camarillo. Yeah, I'm from San Diego. All right. So, I grew up a little bit north of Malibu, a little south of Santa Barbara in Camarillo. And loved it. It was a great place when I was growing up. But now, man, I wouldn't want to live there. Well, it changed a lot. I mean, I still love it there. Don't get me wrong, but definitely it's changed a lot since I was a kid. That's for sure.

[00:01:56] And you live there now? I live in Jersey now, but I work in the city. Oh, that's brutal, isn't it? Yeah, I went from one to the other. I go to New Jersey for the high taxes. I go to New York to work for the crazy work environment. And I left California. So, you know. Well, and the problem is California has got this awesome blend of great weather, little humidity, even though you rely by the ocean because it's less, what, less hot water, I guess? Is that the reason? I have no idea what it is.

[00:02:26] Anyway, but I'm just telling you, it's blessed. San Diego is the best weather. I was talking to my boss the other day. He's like, he's from the Netherlands, our chief editor. Yeah. And he was like, I thought, I was like, man, I'm like burning eyes. I thought you were a hot weather guy. Cause he's from like Netherlands. It's cool. I was like, no, I'm a perfect weather guy. I'm a perfect weather guy. It's different. Yeah. Believe it or not, Camarillo, California has the best weather, best weather in the world. Yeah. Because Camarillo is a little bit off the coast, you know, like 10 minutes. And so you get a little bit away from the ocean.

[00:02:54] So you don't get as much of the breezes and the craziness and the humidity, but yet you get the, I'm telling you, it's perfect weather. So anyway, that's how I grew up. And now I walked through Vegas and just about want to die. So there you go. All right. So you're here because you're promoting your new show on YouTube called the Josh Phillips show. Look for it on YouTube, ladies and gentlemen. And in that you do a lot of unique, what opinion pieces? So I do in-depth reporting. You know, my job is a journalist.

[00:03:21] I've been an investigative reporter for about 18 years, journalist for 20 years. I mean, I've done some pretty hardcore stuff. I've been down Panama, Darien Gap investigating the border crisis. I've traced the origins of COVID within two months of the outbreak. China, you know, the Wuhan. Did they really sit on purpose, Josh? I think they did to be honest. I really think they did. I'm not joking. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Because if they didn't, they wouldn't cover it up so much. They'd be like, hey guys, there are mistakes made. Let's be clear about it.

[00:03:50] But the fact that they're just, hey, mom's the word we're not going to talk about, tells me there must be something intentional. Well, the weirdest thing with it was that the virus sequence was public for a little bit. You actually had Chinese researchers release the sequence. What happened? They disappeared the scientists who released the virus sequence and then deleted or removed from the internet every Western journal that published it. Why would you do that during a pandemic? Like, like, logically speaking, right?

[00:04:19] And then, to the world, cover it all up and pretend it's not happening. Well, and then censor everybody who was talking about why it was happening or what was going on. All right. So, it was the United States at all because the Fauci facade is a real thing. You know, he had some of this stuff happening, what, Fort Newtric or Maryland or whatever. And, you know, North, South Carolina, they were talking about some of this stuff and then eventually got too hot to handle. So, they kind of pushed it over there. But weren't we kind of part of the origins too? All right. So, this is my take. Sure. I think COVID-19 was basically the Chernobyl of China, right? Yeah. It was Chernobyl.

[00:04:48] And what happened was, is the attempt to cover it up made the problem worse, right? The attempt to cover it up made the problem worse. I think on the US side, what was happening was, is they were doing illegal gain of function research through a Chinese laboratory. They were doing this research that was illegal in China that they shouldn't have been doing, shouldn't have been funding. And they did not want the world to know about. The virus got out intentionally or not. Then they tried covering it up here and there.

[00:05:16] And then you had other people trying to cover up reporting on it because they were guilty of funding illegal research. And I really think that's what happened with it. And then with the media, the problem is everybody gets shut down if they tell the truth. So, I got these, you know, deplatformed and everything else for telling the truth. I just reported from some other international stories what was happening. They shut me down. You and me both. You and me both. Yeah. Very interesting how that works. I call it the Chinese Pulitzer. Yeah. You get a Chinese Pulitzer because you get shut down.

[00:05:45] I got one of those, unfortunately, people. And now I don't have any viewers because of it. It's hard to rebuild after that too, because they shadow ban you, right? Yeah. All right. So, what's the next? They talk about disease X, right? Yeah. And as you deep dive into this stuff, do they have disease X planned? Or is that really just X until something comes up? Part of the problem is I've become a little bit jaded, right? Yeah. Whereas I'm saying you can call it X because you act like you don't know. But maybe X is just a place marker for what they know is happening next.

[00:06:14] If it was a pandemic the first time, what will it look like next time, Josh? Well, I mean, there's all kinds of talk about what could be the next virus or the next big outbreak. They've talked about COVID variants. They've talked about... They tried making Ebola the next one. It's not gonna... Ebola is not gonna do that. They talked about Hantavirus being the next one. Hantavirus ain't gonna do that. If you want to have my take, the next one is probably the Chinese virus labs are discovering in the United States. They found the one in, what was it? Readley, California, right?

[00:06:44] So they had this Readley virus lab, then they had the one in Las Vegas, just right out here. Yeah. Tied to the same guys. They were all gonna be the spreaders from this conference, you know? Yeah, right? Yeah, you gotta watch out. You gotta watch that pizza, man. Yeah. But look, I actually went to the Readley virus lab to investigate it. Yeah. So what it was, it was the back part of a recycling center, and they were running a secret virus lab out of the back of a recycling center. And what happened was...

[00:07:14] Recycling viruses, maybe? Maybe, maybe, maybe. So get this. You know, the fire inspector goes in there, there's guys in like virus, you know, research garb and stuff like that. They have humanized... Hasn't met on steroids. No, they have humanized mice in cages. They're like cannibalizing each other, mistreated. They have in the refrigerators... In the refrigerators, they have all these unlabeled vials. Yeah. They have things with like Chinese names on them. They have things with coded names. We laugh folks, but it's not funny.

[00:07:41] Now, the big story that came out from that was they found Ebola. They found Ebola at this place. Then they covered it up and said, no, there's not Ebola. You know what the reality was? They never even tested them. They never even tested them because what happened was... Well, if you test them, you got it on record. Yeah. Well, what happened was is the local officials freaked out. They arrested the guys running the lab. They're now facing charges. It's going through it now, but they face charges for counterfeiting because they're creating counterfeit COVID test kits, selling them on Amazon and stuff like that.

[00:08:10] But the whole story about Ebola and what the heck they had there never saw the light of day because when the officials called up the federal government saying, we need help, we need testing, we need to find out where they are, they literally hung up the phone on them. They never tested any of the viruses. This is during the Trump administration? I don't remember the year on this. This might've been, this was COVID era. It was towards the end of Trump or the beginning of Biden. All right. Yeah.

[00:08:39] But then they found the one in Las Vegas, FBI raided it. They actually took it. I've been, what I've been told by people pretty close to it. There's a cover up there too. They didn't, they didn't even test most of the vials. Exactly. We criticize China for covering it up, but we're just as guilty. Well, at the very least they didn't test what these things were. And there might've been really dangerous viruses. Basically like the one in Las Vegas was being run out of the back of an Airbnb. The one, the one in California was out of the back of a recycling center.

[00:09:08] What about the ones we don't know about? It's like these drug tunnels. Well, that's the big one. We don't, we actually don't know. And the other scary thing is there's not really any regulation on virus labs in the United States. This is not well known. The guys who were doing this didn't even face real serious charges on it. Cause there's no regulation on it. If you register a virus lab, you can do dangerous research. You can buy humanized mice and you can buy live viruses. And then we see cases of these Chinese guys smuggling viruses, smuggling things that cause pandemics here.

[00:09:38] You're getting arrested at the borders. We've even seen that here. And humanized mice, we're not talking about Mickey Mouse, right? Hopefully not. Hopefully not something like that. But no, it's a, it's mice with humanized lungs. So they can do like testing on, they would affect human beings. The point is that we've, we've basically turned mice into, I don't want to say they're half human, but my point is it's more human-like organs. Human lungs typically. In an effort for people to understand so that they can really test and have a lot more reality in their research. Right. And that's the goal. That's what they've done.

[00:10:07] Well, they want to see how things will affect people basically. Yeah. Sure. And so where does this kind of run across the eugenics movement? Cause isn't that really at the core of this? I don't know about eugenics per se, but, but I will say this. Well, because you had Hitler back in the day, trying to create the perfect specimen. You got people these days that are really rich to want to live forever. You got all these experiments and viruses and everything else, maybe vaccinate and dumb down the rest of us. And they'll have two classes, the dumbed down group and the elite class. That's all a eugenics discussion. You could call it eugenics.

[00:10:37] I can say two things. So one, first off on the live for everything you had Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin talking in China, talking about living like 150 years through organ transplants, killing innocent people for their organs and taking their organs. Yeah. Just harvesting. You know, you could say that they're harvesting the organs of the unwanted. They're harvesting the organs of dissidents. That might be me and you pretty soon. Yeah. Like, Hey, we don't want Josh talking on the YouTube. Got it. You know, so you got your new YouTube show.

[00:11:06] I got some prime kidneys here, man. How much are you going to dig into this stuff in your show? Uh, 100%. I've been focusing on all this stuff. All right. And how is it different from your current show that everybody knows from the U-Huck times? So my current show at Epoch Times, my old one is Crossroads. That one, anybody's watching it. It's live. I'm interacting with the audience. It's a lot of questions. It's continuing folks. He hasn't dropped it. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. That's right. It's still going on. Uh, that one is kind of more like days news type stuff.

[00:11:34] The other one is more like in depth kind of, I really dig into things. So think of it as evergreen versus real live time, right? Basically what it is. It's basically. Evergreen says, I'm going to do a deep dive on a topic. Like that's not going to change. If you drill into all these labs example, we just gave, and then you have that as an archive, you know what? In five years, you're going to want to watch it just the same. Yeah. Whereas it's not live news like the other one per se. That's exactly what it is. Yeah. Okay. And what are the topics going to be? What do you got planned? Oh man. So next one I have coming up is about kleptocracy.

[00:12:03] Uh, basically countries whose economies exist off fraud and theft. Which is it. Are you talking about America? Yeah. Because sadly we're getting close to that, aren't we? Well, I think we're finding out about the, uh, the, the old Somali leering centers and stuff like that. And the, you know, Medicaid fraud and everything else. And the NGO fraud, by the way, too, which you shouldn't undermine. Uh, all of this is, I think being uncovered, but there's actually a campaign now. But let's be clear before you go on though. America is bad. And I know it's bad because a lot of this stuff's breaking right now, but really

[00:12:31] America compared to other nations is minimal fraud, right? I think fraud exists everywhere, but I see, I do think we're significantly less corrupt than I would say any other kind of, not to say we don't have problems here, but we do want context though. Right. All right. So you're going to dig into the fraud. That's going to be a scary thing. Oh man. Well, what's interesting now is it's digging into the idea of entire economies that exist off theft. You have, you have countries whose entire economy is like fraud theft, counterfeiting

[00:13:00] and everything else. And is it really just like a South American countries and Latin countries? No, it's all over the place. It's Asian. It's a Eastern, Eastern, uh, Middle Eastern. It's everything. Where do you think it's the worst? Well, you have some countries whose entire economies is black market like North Korea. You have countries in Africa that are like this. You have countries in Latin America where like Ecuador and so on. You're talking about like a third of their economy is just off remittances. They live off people working illegally and sending money home. Yeah.

[00:13:29] And so it's, it's very common even have Eastern or Western Europe, for example, where we're subsidizing their defense budgets. We're paying, we're picking up the slack on their medical costs and so on and so on. And then they rip us off on trade. They're kind of like kleptocracies too, as far as I'm concerned. A lot of countries have unsustainable economic policies and they live off bad trade deals, market manipulation, everything else. And Americans are often picking up the slack. We got to stop that. I fully agree. Yeah. I agree. All right.

[00:13:58] What else are you going to dig into? It's got a couple of months. Oh man. So I just, I just published one today actually, but come, uh, came out, uh, came out about half an hour ago. All right. Uh, so I have one today coming out, which I guess it might be up by now about Trump's more on communism. So Trump, you ever see that video where JFK is talking about these, uh, this grand conspiracy of secrecy. Trump reposted that video and then declared effectively.

[00:14:26] That comes from the non-dare call it conspiracy timeframe, right? Yeah. Right. Trump's going to go out to the same network. He says basically subversive forces in the United States trying to undermine us and so on, uh, which is very interesting. So I dig into the context of the JFK video, what we, what he was really talking about. I dig into what's going on right now against the kind of the war on global communism and how that's becoming a thing yet again. JFK was right. And Trump's right. Right? Yeah, I agree. I agree. It is kind of the enemy within really.

[00:14:52] Well, so you got the Chinese communist party or whatever, the CCP, they have police stations in the United States. They have all these kinds of things already as that. That's really what we're talking about ties to that. Right? Yeah. And as an investigative journalist, I've been digging into that since 2008. I was, I was one of the first people to expose those. Uh, basically Chinese front operations in the United States through which the Chinese secret police stations are running. Those are newer, but they run through the same network. Now the Epoch Times, uh, their whole, give us the origins of the Epoch Times a little bit.

[00:15:22] Yeah. So the Epoch Times or Epoch, if you're curious, British or Canadian Epoch, American epic. But we say both, right? Yeah. Epic, Epoch, you can say that. Uh, we were actually started. So our founder was a guy named John Tong. He was a, he was a Chinese democracy activist. He's a student. Tiananmen Square massacre happened when they massacred the Chinese student democracy activists. He fled to the United States with his school here. Uh, he's actually a theoretical astrophysicist. The guy's like, he was like Duke Youser in China.

[00:15:50] He was writing like white papers and he was still in high school, right? A genius. What happens is him, a lot of other Chinese kind of just figured, hey, you know, China's done time to go to like a free country and just forget it ever existed. Right. Then the persecution of Falun Dafa happens, which it's kind of like Chinese yoga with a moral principle, right? It's like, yeah, compassion, tolerance. The CCP decides it's a threat to the, the atheistic rule, the communist party says, wipe them out.

[00:16:16] So they declare a genocide, the CCP against a hundred million people. And the media here is not even covering it. You have live organ harvesting, uh, torture, reeducation through the labor, slave labor, like everything. And the media here is not only not covering it oftentimes, but even defending it. So Chinese Americans said this is insane. And presidents aren't willing to bring it up and talk about it as human rights violations or anything. It's insane. Yeah, it's insane. And so, you know, the founders of the Epoch Times basically said, this is insane.

[00:16:44] We need to create a media that can report what's actually happening in the world. So they, and do it honestly. So they said, we're going to make a media that can be honest. They can do it fearlessly. And it's going to tell the truth. And so we made the Epoch Times. So let me ask you, how do they not come after him here though? They do. They do. They threatened to kill me for several years. All right. I had Chinese agents threatening my life for several years because I was reporting on the United Front back in like 2008. And how do you stay safe? You know, just good old fashioned courage, man.

[00:17:15] All right. Good old fashioned courage. Yeah. All right. Because, you know, I know they literally come and get people and I know they might be on people and they do all kinds of strange things and everything else. Um, how to be honest. So to be straight, a lot of our staff get death threats and a lot of them get threatened through their family members that their families get threats. Yeah. It's very common. Actually. I get death threats too. We just have to live with it. Yeah. You got to kind of, you know, depending on where you're going to be, what you're going to do, you got to sometimes have a little bit of people with you. Well, it's wild here too. That's great.

[00:17:44] To keep eyes out on what's happening. Is it going to get worse as we continue to report and expose more? I hope not. I think your in depth reporting is going to make it, you know, I hope, I hope not. I, I'd like to imagine we're over the worst of it, but I don't know, man. Well, so we used to just have to worry about keeping Bill away from me. So now we've got to worry about Bill and Hillary and the communist Chinese. Both. You know what I mean? Send you to Haiti, man. You got to watch out for that. All right. So your show is called the Josh Phillips show. It's Venable exclusively on YouTube.

[00:18:13] Uh, Josh Phillips shows just on YouTube. Yeah. All right. And your goal is to learn more about the YouTube algorithms and promote YouTube more. And, uh, you know, my other show was on, it is still on YouTube, but they censored the heck out of it. Josh Phillips shows not censored because you know, yeah, not yet. And hopefully it stays right now. But, uh, that's the new show. Yeah. He's like, it's in the UK. Uh, YouTube just took over. They used to have, um, not Shopify. Uh, what's it called? The music service.

[00:18:39] Spotify, Spotify, and, uh, YouTube just took over Spotify in the UK for the podcast now too. Oh, wow. So things are changing fast and YouTube, whether we like it or not, it's the place to be. Uh, do you guys at the Epoch times have any, uh, Intel about Google and what they've done? They've manipulated elections at Google. They've been shadow banning people and controlling people for a long time. Are they, are they going to back off? Are we going to get a handle on that? Or is it just going to get worse? Yeah. You tell me we, we are still censored by Google. I'm still demonetized on YouTube. I'm still shadow ban.

[00:19:09] Epic times. If you search for us on YouTube, you'll get like a few pages usually before you even see us, you'll get hit pieces on us, everything else. And then finally you'll see us. Yeah. So YouTube is not very nice to us. Our Google is not very nice to us either. Why launch on there on that platform then? Why not use the leadership of the Epoch times and create new platforms, please stop it. We did. Uh, so we, we, we actually do have our own platform called Epic TV or Epoch TV, E P O C H TV.com. Uh, we are trying to build that too, but we want to kind of hit everything. I'm still. All right.

[00:19:39] I appreciate it. Anything we've left out that you want to tell everybody? Yeah. It's good. All right. Josh Phillip, everybody. Epoch times.com. Check out his new show. Josh Phillips show on YouTube for Sam Bushman, Liberty round table live. God save our constitutional Republic.
