Deschedule Cannabis: Michael Plumhoff Explains the Truth About Weed Laws | 08-04-26

At Freedom Fest, Sam Bushman sits down with Michael Plumhoff of deschedule.earth to break down the real terminology behind cannabis, hemp, and marijuana, and why the government's scheduling system is built on decades of confusion and control. Plumhoff explains the shared origin of all cannabis strains, the history of hemp's use in America (from Civil War hemp bales to hemp rope in car seats), and the difference between "descheduling" and Trump-era "rescheduling." He also details the privately funded Food First Initiative nutritional study built on FOIA'd USDA guidelines, plus two 10-question polls at deschedule.earth covering cannabis policy and food security. This isn't about being pro- or anti-drug: it's about whether government control over a natural plant has been a dismal failure, and whether Americans should be free to decide for themselves. [00:00:04] Broadcasting live from atop the Rocky Mountains, the crossroads of the West, you are listening to the Liberty Roundtable radio talk show. Happy to have you along my fellow Americans, Liberty Roundtable live, happy to have you with me at Freedom Fest, Libertarian Fest is what I'm calling it now.

[00:00:29] We're having a fantastic time, we're interviewing all kinds of people. Man, Libertarians, they come from all walks of life, ladies and gentlemen. This guy with me now has got an interesting shirt that'll start off the conversation. What does your shirt say, sir? It says cannabis is safer than alcohol. Boy, howdy, is that the truth? The war on drugs has been a dismal failure, we all know that. And we want to talk about this cannabis discussion with this gentleman today. Your website is? Deschedule.Earth.

[00:00:58] Deschedule.Earth. And the reason that I focus on the website so early on is so that you guys can all look it up. But we're going to talk about the Deschedule idea, we're going to talk about the Earth idea. They are running some polls with some initiatives that people can take online. One of them relates to Freedom Fest, but another one relates to cannabis. We're going to talk about it all right now. Give us your name, sir. Michael Plumhoff. Michael Plumhoff with me, ladies and gentlemen. And so let's talk about cannabis for a second to set the stage. There's cannabis, there's marijuana, right?

[00:01:26] No, really, there's more play words. And cannabis sativa L is what we're here to educate everybody across the land. All right. So let me ask then what's cannabis sativa L versus like D8, D9, weed, whatever. Okay. The genus, the parent is cannabis sativa L. That's the parent of it all? What's that? That's the parent of it all? Yes. Okay. So understand that's the parent of it all, people.

[00:01:56] I know a little bit I'm plumbing this on purpose. Pardon the pun on your last name. Go ahead, sir. Yeah. Just remember folks, cannabis was first in the Oxford Dictionary of 1548 and then in the Pharmacopoeia of Mexico in 1889. So that is the word cannabis, cannabis sativa L.

[00:02:20] And whether we talk about pot, whether we say weed, whether we say marijuana, it comes from this parent, right? Correct. And the difference in some of these different strains or whatever term you want to use is some of the compounds that make them up and the behaviors that they affect, right? More so the cultivation to get this bushy with larger flower or the stalk for the herd

[00:02:48] and bass in to make them nine to 15 feet tall. That is the growing and the cultivation that we're trying to educate America all. All right. So let's, let's back up a little bit. I don't know if you know, in the United States, they used to have, um, hemp wars. Do you know about those? Uh, hemp wars? Yeah. Yeah. Um, they used to have wars back in the civil war times and they used to use hemp fails to protect themselves. Like, ah, right. You know what? Okay. Yes.

[00:03:17] The cover versus concealment for sure. Yes. Now I'm tracking you. I just want people to understand that's an interesting little tidbit from history. So now what about hemp then? Is that different? The hemp is cultivated from cannabis sativa L and it's a government name so they can keep on taxing and abusing us. And we had the blues in 1937 with FDR with the marijuana tax act.

[00:03:43] And then the reds with, uh, Nixon in 1970 with the controlled substance act. So, all right. So the point that I want to get at folks is there are strains and I don't know a better term or cultivations that can get you stoned or get you high. Um, but there's most of them don't and can't, and they all do unique things in the body based on the, on the chemistry and what we focus on, what we extract, what we do, uh, et cetera.

[00:04:10] Uh, but this is important to understand that believe it or not in your car seat right now, the seat that you sit on in your car, believe it or not, most of the time there's hemp rope used for that car seat. And we can't in the past, we weren't able to produce it here. We had to import it for your car seats. Did you know that? Yes. China, China, China. Weird. Yeah. And so they basically made marijuana, hemp, uh, cannabis, whatever word we, hot, but whatever you want to words you want to use.

[00:04:38] They've made this the Holy grail hate in America that you know what? If you do that, you're cooking everybody on drugs. You're evil. You're going to go psychotic. Like you're on PCP. It's horrible. Okay. That's the narrative they pitched in the government forever. Right? Very much. So yes. All right. So I wanted to give that kind of background because I think people don't really understand right when they hear it, they're like, Oh, stoners are talking again. No, that's not what we're talking about. Right? Not at all.

[00:05:05] Farmers, independence in Liberty. That's why we are exhibiting at Freedom Fest. Yes. And we are rolling out the food first initiative nutritional value study that we had to FOIA the USDA and it's free. So the government created this study. No, no, we did. The private sector did it. Okay.

[00:05:31] Government has not till, till date, till today, they have not done it. We had to go after them to get the food data center, FDC, not FDA, but FDC guidelines on what is federal food nutritional value testing. Now we paid for it. High Times Magazine covered it on May 6th. So what you did is you said, we're going to do a private sector study. Yes.

[00:06:00] We're going to use the government's guidelines for the testing. Yep. So that it can't be dismissed. There you go. Yeah. I understand. All right. What happened? We got covered in High Times Magazine. We're still about 2,400 short of the 9,600 that it costs and we're pushing it. We're pushing it. And people have, your honor, court's evidence.

[00:06:27] This is raw nutritional food security. What's going on? So we plan on taking the study and start filing 4th and 14th Amendment motions with a free motion

[00:06:46] from Joseph Tully Esquire of Redding, California, who is one of our witness testimonies out of the 19 on DSchedule.Earth So we're not playing around. We're not asking for donations. We are asking for time, effort, and you're learning the right words and the right action. And that's why I started with what I did so people kind of can understand this. So you have a poll related to this, right? We have two polls. Yeah.

[00:07:15] We have the Freedom Fest, DSchedule.Earth poll, and then we have the Food First Initiative poll. Only 10 questions. On each one? Yes. And what do they generally ask me? They're somewhat, Sam, what do you know? What is truth? What is fiction? Well, you've heard what I know. What do they? Well, your terminology, you know a lot.

[00:07:41] And we're excited to get to your audience, you know, for the polls. And your producer, Zach, has a copy of this and so forth. So we want Sam's audience to be invited and to get to go through the 10 each questions and just say, okay, that's why Sam was at Freedom Fest. And he's helping so much with the distribution of truth and justice. DSchedule.Earth is where you go, folks.

[00:08:11] So let me, the DSchedule term then relates to this idea that you've got these government ratcheted up schedules that make you believe that somehow cannabis is your enemy. I mean, you get near it and you're going to die like fentanyl kind of an idea. And they put it on these crazy schedules of the government to make them. I mean, they're more dangerous than almost anything on the market. Right. Correct. According to the schedules now. Right. And we're saying that's not right. It's unjust.

[00:08:42] It's not, it's, it's immoral though. Cause it's a lie. Yeah. It's just wicked evil. And you can say, um, you know, it's time for people to rally and, and to take back their rights, their God given right. All right. Tell me about words now, then let's put reality to this and help people with words then. So the cannabis, what do you, what do you say it is? Cannabis sativa al genos. Cannabis sativa al genos is the general main term.

[00:09:11] Now you've got a bunch of downstream cultivations, derivatives. Cultivations is the best way to say it. And then you get into legal trickery, legal, if I may say them. Yeah. Legal trickery is hemp and marijuana. You get into legal trickery.

[00:09:38] You get into legal trickery. Yeah. And then you get into legal trickery. And if it's not, you have that, then they have these, you know, D eight and D nine and D 10 and all these different numbers. And they're trying to make this really complicated, right? For sure. Well put. Yes, sir. So tell me, simplify it for me.

[00:10:08] Well, first of all, D schedule, get it off a schedule and allow people to produce it just like South Africa, Czech Republic and Georgia, the country. And it's a classification known as home grow in youths. Only the Yankees have medical and recreational, but other countries have home growing use. Now, what do you say about that?

[00:10:36] Some are saying, you know what, for medical purposes, we understand it for, you know, recreational purposes. We're against it. I agree. A lot of that's political in nature because that determines what I do. In other words, we come to thought police. Are you recreating the Sam? Are you medicating or are you, can you get permission? Do you have a license? Do you have a card? Do you have a really, it's a government control discussion. Is it not? Uh, I'm to answer your question is I'm a free man and I don't make money off of the plan.

[00:11:06] And I help people understand the plan. So I'm for home growth and home use and not retail sale, but trafficking for OZ, four ounce, 120 grams, a Royale with cheese, a quarter pounder. When you go above that limit, are you trafficking? Are you not paying into the crown? So, well, and if you say trafficking though, at some point, then you classify it as a drug. I'm debating if it's even a drug.

[00:11:36] Well, remember in Appalachia, you know, with bootleggers and the IRS revenues. Yes, sir. Okay. Did they call moonshine a drug back then or it was tax money? Right. So that's what we at DSchedule is, four OZ or below on your person and moving in vehicle, vehicle.

[00:11:56] And let's go with that as, as a nation and a hundred senators, because you wrote the DSchedule letter, Elizabeth Warren on January 29th, 2024 in two weeks prior to this hearing, you took it down. We can see you 12 blue senators. So let me ask you this question. Uh, Donald Trump has worked towards some DScheduling, right?

[00:12:26] He, rescheduling mostly not DSchedule. I understand. But if you moved it to where it's not as extreme, I mean, it's a partial DSchedule, right? No, it is medical product only. Own legs. That is the two key words, medical versus, versus whole natural plant. When you DSchedule, will you free the whole natural plant because you cannot patent it, but medical products you can patent.

[00:12:55] The other problem with the medical products is they're starting to do things that manipulate and enhance with manmade kind of substances, some of this stuff too, adding even more confusion and problems to the mix, right? The sickness, Sam, you are 100% correct. The synthetics, the labs, it's, it doesn't belong. And they want you to believe it's the same. Yes. They want you to believe it's the same and they want to profit on it and they want to control it. That's why we don't have home growing use.

[00:13:25] All right. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. I don't know how to plumb any more out of them than that. Ladies and gentlemen, what have I overlooked that you want to tell everybody? Anything important? Um, share this. Share what Sam's doing. This is not self-promotion. I'm not asking you for money. We're trying as a community to share knowledge and to share a written action plan. Okay. We're not toking up.

[00:13:53] We are trying to get food, hemp tofu and drink. Okay. So you guys have new tools at Freedom Fest 2026. How do people learn more about your study to get a handle on that? We, uh, have the study at, um, the schedule dot earth plus our link tree. It just email if I may. And I know email, you know, might be hard for some, but info at the schedule dot earth.

[00:14:22] Load that inbox up. Cause you will talk to the clerk. That's my title. That's my role. I'm not the boss applesauce. I'm a clerk and I'm clerking for you. So you use your time and effort and get results. Mike, we appreciate your time. I appreciate you guys. All right. Ladies and gentlemen, there you have it. I'm Sam Bushman for Liberty round table live. Again, this isn't about whether you like drugs. You don't like drugs. You believe in marijuana. Don't believe in cannabis. Don't understand it.

[00:14:52] Don't what we're really saying to you is should the government control all this or has their control been a dismal failure? And should we be able to talk about food or any other use as we as independent free Americans see fit? That's your question. Check out their polls. The website again, dschedule.er. Mike, thank you. Thank you, Sam. I'm Sam Bushman for Liberty round table. God save our constitutional Republic.
