[00:00:35] Their products because they keep me on the air

[00:00:38] And also because I've hand-chosen them for a reason

[00:00:41] There's also an olive oil

[00:00:42] That link is also on the site

[00:00:44] And that olive oil, remember I told you

[00:00:46] I was going to get you over 50% off

[00:00:48] And it's an amazing olive oil

[00:00:50] That you should be taking like a tablespoon a day

[00:00:53] Fantastic, and you've seen the commercials

[00:00:55] Where they're selling the high-priced version of it

[00:00:57] I scored you guys

[00:00:58] The company that actually makes that oil

[00:01:01] But you get it far less

[00:01:02] And also a discount on top of that

[00:01:05] For listening to the show

[00:01:06] So, OliveE, OliveEHealth.us

[00:01:09] Use the code Kate15

[00:01:11] You'll get a 15% discount on that

[00:01:13] And trust me, this is a wonderful thing

[00:01:15] To start doing every day

[00:01:16] It'll also help you sleep at night too

[00:01:19] But you'll love it

[00:01:20] Olive oil with polyphenols

[00:01:22] Just an amazing amount of polyphenols

[00:01:24] I want to play a story for you

[00:01:27] Everything's on the site

[00:01:29] KateDalleyRadio.com

[00:01:30] When you support that, you support me

[00:01:32] And I appreciate you

[00:01:33] And all my co-hosts do too

[00:01:34] We try to bring you the truth

[00:01:36] And that's the most important thing

[00:01:37] Is we got a lot of propaganda out there

[00:01:39] We got to have some truth

[00:01:42] So, my Christmas show

[00:01:43] So, this is a really good one

[00:01:46] Because it comes from a point of view

[00:01:47] Of a person that sort of looks at

[00:01:49] Us Christian folk

[00:01:52] As, you know, the bizarre people of the world

[00:01:54] And I really, I've never played this on the air before

[00:01:56] And I want to play this story for you

[00:01:57] Because what a message

[00:01:59] What a message

[00:02:01] Really listen to the end

[00:02:03] Okay?

[00:02:03] Because there's a reason I'm playing this

[00:02:05] Alright, so here is Nicole Blue

[00:02:07] Talking about those sandwich Christians

[00:02:10] Yeah

[00:02:11] Here we go

[00:02:13] It's Christmas Eve

[00:02:15] And I'm sitting on the sidewalk

[00:02:17] In San Francisco

[00:02:19] With my back against a building

[00:02:21] Wrapped up in a sleeping bag

[00:02:24] Sniffling with a cold that just won't go away

[00:02:27] And asking strangers for spare change

[00:02:31] San Francisco isn't very warm

[00:02:34] At Christmas

[00:02:36] But it's also not the worst place to be a street kid

[00:02:39] There are plenty of squats

[00:02:41] And couches to crash on

[00:02:43] And there's a lot of outreach programs

[00:02:46] There are the sock Christians

[00:02:50] There are the pizza Christians

[00:02:52] And there are the sandwich Christians

[00:02:56] There's also a lot of other street kids to hang out with

[00:03:00] So there I was

[00:03:01] Lonely

[00:03:03] Hungry

[00:03:03] Cold

[00:03:04] And tired

[00:03:05] On the sidewalk

[00:03:06] I sat there feeling sorry for myself for a while

[00:03:10] And then I noticed across the street

[00:03:13] The sandwich Christian van had pulled up

[00:03:17] The thought of a warm toasted sub sandwich

[00:03:20] And a bowl of soup completely thrilled me

[00:03:22] So I gathered my sleeping bag around my shoulders

[00:03:25] And crossed the street over

[00:03:27] To where the sandwich Christians were

[00:03:30] They smiled at me, recognized me

[00:03:32] And as they handed me my sub sandwich

[00:03:34] And poured me a bowl of soup

[00:03:37] They invited me to join them

[00:03:39] The next day, Christmas Day

[00:03:42] For celebrations at their church

[00:03:45] At the word church

[00:03:47] This cold sadness filled my heart

[00:03:51] It was the same sadness

[00:03:53] That had covered me

[00:03:55] Being raised in a very strict

[00:03:57] Fundamentalist Christian family

[00:03:59] The same sadness that filled my heart

[00:04:01] Every day when I was told I was wrong

[00:04:03] I was a sinner for being who I am

[00:04:06] It was the same sadness that was the reason

[00:04:09] I wasn't home for Christmas

[00:04:12] But these sandwich Christians were nice

[00:04:14] And they were friendly

[00:04:15] They were smiling

[00:04:16] And I was hungry and cold and tired

[00:04:19] And I didn't want to hurt their feelings

[00:04:20] So I said yes

[00:04:24] That night, I stayed up all night

[00:04:26] In the 24-hour fast food joint

[00:04:29] Trying not to fall asleep

[00:04:30] Over my bag of small fries

[00:04:33] And the next morning

[00:04:34] I was even hungrier

[00:04:36] And more tired

[00:04:37] And colder

[00:04:38] As I pulled my sleeping bag around my shoulders

[00:04:41] And walked up the street

[00:04:42] To where the church was

[00:04:43] When I got to the doors

[00:04:47] I could hear voices inside

[00:04:49] And they were shut

[00:04:51] And I was suddenly

[00:04:53] Embarrassed

[00:04:54] And ashamed

[00:04:55] And I could feel

[00:04:56] Every inch

[00:04:57] Of my dirty clothes

[00:05:00] Of my duct-taped combat boots

[00:05:03] Of my scuff leather jacket

[00:05:04] And my flopping over mohawk

[00:05:06] And I thought

[00:05:08] I don't belong here

[00:05:09] This isn't the place for me

[00:05:11] And I turned around

[00:05:12] And I was just about to go

[00:05:13] When the door opened

[00:05:14] And a young guy stepped out

[00:05:15] And he said

[00:05:16] Hey

[00:05:17] Why don't you come in and join us?

[00:05:19] And he was nice

[00:05:20] And I didn't want to hurt his feelings

[00:05:23] So I went in

[00:05:25] And he led me inside

[00:05:26] To this big room

[00:05:29] That was warm

[00:05:30] And filled with people

[00:05:32] And everybody was laughing

[00:05:33] And talking

[00:05:34] And sitting

[00:05:35] At big tables

[00:05:36] That were set for dinner

[00:05:38] And as the young guy

[00:05:39] Led me to a place at the table

[00:05:41] I sat down

[00:05:42] And all of the sudden

[00:05:44] All these volunteers came in

[00:05:46] And started serving us

[00:05:50] Serving me

[00:05:52] Christmas dinner

[00:05:54] There was turkey

[00:05:55] There was ham

[00:05:57] There was roast beef

[00:05:57] There was mashed potatoes

[00:05:58] There was cranberry sauce

[00:05:59] There was stuffing

[00:06:00] There was gravy

[00:06:02] And that's not all

[00:06:04] There were three different kinds of dessert

[00:06:06] There was pie

[00:06:07] There was ice cream

[00:06:08] There was cake

[00:06:09] And I had three servings

[00:06:11] Of the dinner

[00:06:11] And all the desserts

[00:06:14] And I was so full

[00:06:17] Stuffed

[00:06:18] And happy

[00:06:20] And when we were all finished

[00:06:21] The volunteers came in

[00:06:22] And they cleared the tables away

[00:06:24] And everybody sat down

[00:06:26] On couches and chairs

[00:06:28] Around the room

[00:06:29] And I noticed

[00:06:30] That there was this big

[00:06:31] Christmas tree

[00:06:32] In one corner

[00:06:33] And in another corner

[00:06:35] There was a radio

[00:06:35] Spilling out Christmas songs

[00:06:37] And there was all these kids

[00:06:38] Running around

[00:06:40] And I sat on the couch

[00:06:41] I noticed

[00:06:42] That the grown-ups

[00:06:44] Were gathering the kids

[00:06:45] And kind of shushing them

[00:06:47] And I thought

[00:06:48] Uh oh

[00:06:49] Here comes the sermon

[00:06:51] And I sort of

[00:06:53] Stealed myself for it

[00:06:55] But instead of a sermon

[00:06:57] This little kid

[00:06:58] About seven or eight

[00:06:59] Runs over to me

[00:07:00] With a present in his hands

[00:07:02] And he handed it to me

[00:07:03] With a big grin

[00:07:05] And he says

[00:07:05] Merry Christmas

[00:07:07] And I took the present

[00:07:09] And I looked around

[00:07:10] And I saw that

[00:07:11] Everybody else

[00:07:12] Was being handed

[00:07:13] Presents

[00:07:14] By smiling kids

[00:07:17] And I opened up

[00:07:18] The present

[00:07:20] And there was a

[00:07:22] Green

[00:07:22] Hand-knitted

[00:07:24] Woolly cap

[00:07:26] And matching mittens

[00:07:29] And I couldn't

[00:07:30] Stop smiling

[00:07:31] As I put them on

[00:07:32] And sat there

[00:07:34] On the couch

[00:07:36] Grinning away

[00:07:37] And looking around

[00:07:38] The room

[00:07:38] At all these

[00:07:39] Happy

[00:07:40] Happy people

[00:07:41] And laughter

[00:07:43] And songs

[00:07:46] And the sadness

[00:07:47] In my heart

[00:07:49] Melted away

[00:07:50] Just a little bit

[00:07:52] But something else

[00:07:54] Melted too

[00:07:55] It was that judgment

[00:07:57] That I had carried

[00:07:59] For protection

[00:08:01] And I realized

[00:08:03] People are people

[00:08:04] And these people

[00:08:06] These sandwich

[00:08:08] Christians

[00:08:08] Hadn't preached

[00:08:10] To me

[00:08:10] Or judged

[00:08:11] Me

[00:08:11] Or told me

[00:08:12] I was wrong

[00:08:12] But they had

[00:08:14] Wormed my belly

[00:08:15] And warmed my hands

[00:08:16] And my head

[00:08:17] And my heart

[00:08:18] And for that

[00:08:20] One night

[00:08:21] They made me

[00:08:23] Feel

[00:08:23] At home

[00:08:26] Nicole Blue

[00:08:28] Is a sandwich

[00:08:29] Christian

[00:08:29] So I loved

[00:08:31] That

[00:08:31] Just for the

[00:08:32] Just for the fact

[00:08:33] That I think

[00:08:34] You know

[00:08:35] You meet people

[00:08:35] Where they're at

[00:08:36] And I think

[00:08:37] That's a really

[00:08:38] Important part

[00:08:38] Of Christmas

[00:08:39] Christ did that

[00:08:41] And it doesn't

[00:08:41] Mean that you

[00:08:43] Are all for

[00:08:44] The sin

[00:08:45] Or you're all for

[00:08:46] Like she had mentioned

[00:08:47] She was a sinner

[00:08:48] All for the sin

[00:08:49] Or accepting of a sin

[00:08:50] Or accepting

[00:08:51] Of what somebody's up to

[00:08:53] You're just

[00:08:54] Being nice

[00:08:55] Being kind

[00:08:56] In that moment

[00:08:57] So I like that

[00:08:57] And I like meeting

[00:08:59] People where they're at

[00:09:00] And I think that

[00:09:02] I think for her

[00:09:03] That day

[00:09:04] It was just

[00:09:04] Feeling good

[00:09:05] And feeling to be

[00:09:06] A part of something

[00:09:07] And that's what

[00:09:07] She needed

[00:09:08] And she got that

[00:09:09] And I think

[00:09:10] That's amazing

[00:09:11] And I think

[00:09:13] That you know

[00:09:14] Christ taught us

[00:09:16] How to be

[00:09:17] And what to do

[00:09:17] And set the parameters

[00:09:19] And I also think

[00:09:20] That there's an element

[00:09:21] Of meeting somebody

[00:09:24] Where they're at

[00:09:25] And saying okay

[00:09:26] You know

[00:09:27] I'm here if you need me

[00:09:28] I'm not going to

[00:09:28] Change who I am

[00:09:29] But I'm here if you need me

[00:09:30] And I loved that

[00:09:32] So much

[00:09:32] I'll be right back

[00:09:35] One of my most

[00:09:36] Beloved Christmas stories

[00:09:38] From Paul Harvey

[00:09:39] I'll be right back

[00:09:40] And also I want to

[00:09:41] Share with you

[00:09:42] Something I think

[00:09:42] Should be done

[00:09:43] On Christmas Eve

[00:09:44] I think it was

[00:09:44] A wonderful idea

[00:09:45] And also

[00:09:46] Two recipes

[00:09:47] I know

[00:09:47] Be right back
